Tips on how to survive Friend's kidnapping shenanigans:

Plan A:

1. COOPERATE! This is the most important rule of all rules. Dont do anything that will waste your strength. Again, you hate his guts but COOPERATE.

2.Observe your surrounding. Look for any escape thingy that may help you escape (ex: a random tissue and yes, its not gonna help you, just giving an example jeez!)

3.If Friend offers you food, eat it. Friend is not capable of hurting you, so its free from poison. Again, we need our strength and our cold pizza.

4.Manipulate him little by little. Dont rush it. Friend will notice it. (For being a major in Manipulation) Make him think that you start to forgive him a little bit. (And he will start to loose your bind)

5.Dont do anything that makes Friend angry. You dont have any snickers so we cant pull that stunt to Friend (ur not u wen ur angry 😆) We dont want angry Friend here ok?

6.Remember Friend always wearing his hairpins? Do anything to get them. Make out with him or whatever. Just get them.

7.If you ever get the hairpin, use it to open the door and voila, Friend is waiting for you on the other side of the door :D MISSION FAILED!

Plan B (if Plan A fails)

1. Cry. Just do it. Friend has a softest spot on you. He will probably pity you and give you an ice cream. And thats a win for me 😎

what's your hc on the nations' (im)mortality? is prussia a weird exception that proves the rule for you? is the concept of life and death not applicable to the nations?

its applicable! theyre born and then they die eventually. they just live a bit longer. u can think ab it like, oh wowww hes 500 years old, but thats still a very small slice of how long the earth has been turning...

im strongly in the camp of "they spring out of the dirt" for how theyre born, but a lot of people prefer the "they were human once" angle—which is fair, because there was one guy that explicitly was human once, became a nation, then gave up that status to age normally again. they called him out as an abnormality, but i think thats a nice way to end their lives. if its "they dissolve into dust instantly" vs "they age and die normally" i prefer the latter...

the immortality stuff is VERY VERY fun! i have a lot of thoughts on how the aphws universe works. i think their lives are dependent mostly on a group identity, somewhat on a land claim, and 0% on a political entity. i also think the Way They Work changed a lot with the modern age. like how in canon the fantasy elements faded as the world modernized, the Way They Work became a lot more grounded with that. theyre less fantastic than they used to be.

hugo tells varian that if this whoooole thing is for cass then SHE can be his assistant. but varian doesn't pick up on the /s and thinks his /srs. hugo spends the whole day pouting about varian spending time with cass, only to swallow his pride and agree to be his assistant when cass bails.

things still fuck up because of master st. whatever the fuck his name is but they stop the vortex and hugo steals the ribbon for varian and tells him he was just jealous about how much varian seemed to like cass and varian is just "yeah well I really like you, too. as! you know, friends. like...like cassie is my friend and you're my friend too! and don't tell her this but you're actually, like, my best friend." and oop now varian has a crush on hugo too thank u for coming to my ted talk

(Sitting like a wise old man on a log) okay so call me controversial for this but I HATE DevilDice so much like its so unreal. At first I was just like "ok" when Cuphead was more niche, like it was dumb since I dont think you NEED to ship anything in Cuphead to Like it and engage with it but like whatever right?? But then as it started gaining more and more traction with talk of the DLC and S1 of The Cuphead Show! DevilDice was EVERYWHERE and I personally didn't really understand why people so desperately wanted DevilDice to be real, especially when the Devil and King Dice didn't really have much in common or anything that really told me "oh yeah they NEED to be together", people were just kinda making shit up as they went and like idc if people do that for their ships but because it was EVERYWHERE in the fandom tag, character tags, etc, there was NO way to really avoid it!! And the fact that King Dice's character was reduced to JUST "The Devil's Henchman" and not the respected and even downright intimidating figure the Game made King Dice, it was super insulting...especially when he was HEAVILY based on a Real person (Cab Calloway)!! And how he's kinda reduced to just a joke character that nobody really takes seriously anymore is super disheartening and I'm like "#NOTMYDICE"!!!! I JUST dont think people should have to rely on a ship to care about a source, but thats exactly what like 90% of the Cuphead fanbase does (they couldn't go 1 day without shipping King Dice with Chef Saltbaker!!!) And its super annoying imo...these characters can be completely appreciated without all the nonsensical and bizarre ships and AUs like...yandere King Dice???? Like what does that even mean KING DICE WOULDNT FUCKING DO THAT!!!!!!!

Also just as a little add on it really sucks that so much of the The Cuphead Show!/Cuphead Fans went totally Gaga over The Devils and King Dice's VAs/Twitter Accounts "flirting" with each other and didn't even realize that Netflix (a multimillion corporate entity) was totally baiting their audience because they KNOW that'll capture their audience's attention without explicitly doing anything that they're even hinting at. OK SO I THINK SCOOB ONLY HAVING PARTIAL CYAN EYES MIGHT MEAN HIS CONNECTION TO CYAN IS IFFY? He does mention he cant maintain his Ballyhoo as long anymore, and he tells Shaggy he still doesn't have all his memories yet, so i think its just a case of it only being there rarely? We also do see that the blessing isn't an "on" or "off" thing, but that its a slider, so maybe that has something to do with it? I think its just a visual thing though, idk if we're gonna get anyone with like 25% of a blessing

I ALSO WANNA ADD SOMETHING THAT IM GENUINELY NOT SURE IS ME OVER-ANALYZING OR IS INTENTIONAL BUT THE LITTLE STAR SHAPE SHOWS UP SO MUCH? We see it first when Scoob uses his ballyhoo- Its even the thumbnail! but we also see it:

- chapt 45, the stars

- chapt 75, Power ends in a star when i think for patrick he just. disappears. Important to note that patrick just DIES when mickey has no gift, but gun man (IM SO BAD WITH NAMES) ends in a star. It hink Power only gained the ability to turn On when Mickey made the deal.

- chapt 75 again, the SFX have stars

- chapt 86, Shaggy 2's jumpcut has a little star

- 91, the tv has a star, also the stars in the sky

THERES PROBABLY MORE (i just glanced at the parts i remembered it), BUT I JUST REALLY NOTICED HOW COMMON OF A SHAPE IT IS IN THE SERIES. Maybe its just the artstyle, idk but it just stands out a LOT once you see it

YEAH THAT MAKES SENSE!!! I think that's correct honestly--I definitely think that Scooby made a deal of some kind and that's what we're supposed to take from it, but 100% it seems the nature of it isn't the same as the other deals we've seen. At the very least, the fact that he's had his memories wiped is affecting it. Also, you have a good point about the slider--I think that's a really interesting detail tbh?? So there's a chance Scoob's slider isn't turned up all the way.

ALSO LISTEN OKAY OVERANALYSIS IS THE NAME OF THE GAME!!!! I think it's fair to say that a lot of what we've talked about doesn't have canon answers yet, but that doesn't mean we can't speculate!!! Also literally overanalyzing media is fun.

BUT YEAH THAT'S A REALLY INTERESTING THING TO POINT OUT.... I think it could be a part of the art style, but it's an interesting piece of symbolism to bring up again and again. I'm not sure of what I think the implication of this is yet, but if you have any other thoughts please absolutely send them my way.
