Oliver Thomas (nicknames: Ollie, Tommy, Otis)

After Sanji and Zoro’s daughter permanently joined the crew, everyone was happy. Franky and Robin found themselves really enjoying having the toddler around, especially when the opportunity to babysit came. The role of caregiver felt so natural for the both of them. Which isn’t a shocker considering the both of them really do want to be parents themselves. But it didn’t seem likely since Franky couldn’t have children of his own, what with his past hysterectomy. Even if he hadn't had a hysterectomy, he's sure his endometriosis and cyborg body would cause further complications. Sharing this information with Robin only dampened their spirits—until she remembered surrogacy was a thing. Now they could just adopt instead of waiting who knows how long for a willing surrogate, but Robin was insisting on a biological child of her own—not to say she wouldn’t adopt if that was her only choice! But she very strongly desired her own baby.

On and off, for several months after Wano, they talked more and more about it, privately daydreaming together about being a family. In the end, they asked Zoro. Nami would have been her first choice, until she remembered Nami has openly talked about how undesirable pregnancy is to her. It makes her comfortable and thats the last thing Robin would want to do. Besides, Zoro has been pregnant before and has carried to term a perfectly healthy baby girl, if he says yes then all parties involved know he can handle it since he knows what to expect. And if he says no, that’s fine. They can wait some more until the perfect person does come along. But Zoro does say yes! After a couple days of mulling it over, he agrees.

While Oliver Thomas is biologically Zoro’s just as much as Robin’s, they are in no way Zoro’s child. She was raised essentially by the whole crew but Franky is his dad, Robin is her mom. Zoro of course cares for them, but as the role of their uncle. Oliver Thomas only became aware of their birth circumstances after their 16th birthday as they believed Oliver had the right to know.

Oliver is much like his mom but many of his aesthetic preferences come from her dad (though most of her fashion is simplified down for work convenience; his biggest pride is his mullet). They’re a bookworm, loves puzzles or any problem solving activity, exploration, anthropology and archeology. Though raised to be a confident and strong individual, they struggle with identity and who they want to be and what they want to do in life. It’s not uncommon to go days without hearing from her as his main coping mechanism is to focus on their studies. They have a caffeine addiction. When she was 8, she ate the Blood Blood fruit. (Will draw a visual for how that fruit works because ugh I have thoughts that aren't easy to write out)

Cora

Cora was four when the Heart Pirates stumbled upon him. Law determined he was alone for about 2 days but looking at the decomposition of the beached corpses they were here for less than a month. Cora did sustain an injury in those two days of no adult supervision (as the least decomposed adult around there, and who Cora was sticking around when they found him, must have been taking care of him the best she could this whole time) and it got infected. It was obvious their ship had wrecked, don't need a specialist to see that. And they were a pirate crew, too, they found a jolly Roger they didn't recognize in the wreckage. It’s not so surprising when the waters are rough around the island and even worse, the scattered jagged rocks looked deadly. For the longest time, Cora wouldn’t speak so they aren't sure how he got cut exactly. Law tried treating the wound as carefully and efficiently as possible but in the end the infection was only getting worse—to the point that the highest dose of antibiotics he could give the kid just wasn’t working. It was an extremely hard decision but he amputated since it would isolate the infection and make treating it significantly easier. Seeing how sick and weak and malnourished the kid is, just his devil fruit ability wouldn't save him, this would require a little more attention—and besides Law really liked practicing traditional medicine sometimes.

They wouldn’t have a name for him until after the amputation when they were tired of cycling through Little Guy and Buddy. It was Law who started calling him Cora all the time after no one could agree on a name. Cora wouldn’t start talking until a couple years later. It was out of the blue on his 6th birthday (the day he was found being marked as his birthday). No one is sure if he remembers what happened to him or not but they don’t bring it up at all anyway. Law grew the most attached to him after spending so many nights by his bedside making sure he was okay. To most of the crew, he's their little brother, but Law quickly found himself falling into a father figure role as he took on the most responsibility for the kid (which only seemed fair since he was the captain and he did make the final decision to keep the kid rather than dump him at some other island's hospital). When asked "why Cora" as his name, he just says it was the first thing that really stuck.

Cora is a fairly quiet and independent guy, but he's tough and works well with a team when needed. While he doesn't understand a lick of "doctor talk" he does find the practice interesting. Instead he likes fishing, scary stories, sculpture, and most of all geology. Rather than always using a rock prosthetic or any prosthetic actually (or any other option Law has ever offered), he chooses to instead show off his stump as a proud mark of survival and appreciation for what his family did for him, as even if he doesn't have the full details he's grateful regardless. Cora struggles the most with social connections and minor lapses in his memory—of which Law says is a common characteristic of CPTSD. Cora ate the Rock Rock Fruit when he was seven because he really wanted to be just like Law (he failed to realize he wouldn't have the same ability and was thus stuck as a sentient rock for three days until he finally figured out how to go back). He doesn't call Law dad or papa, he just calls him Law, but you know he wants something or is trying to act cute after doing something bad when he is saying dad/papa.

i think we should remind musicians they can absolutely make up little stories for their songs btw. it doesn’t have to be about them at all. you can invent a guy and put him in situations to music. time honoured tradition in fact.

im unironically obsessed w the Dylan/Gretchen stuff. u love ur husband but ur whole marriage u've been waiting for him to get his shit together and u have 3 kids and ur exhausted all the time and he's another thing u have to Manage but it's just bc he's excitable and this aspect of ur relationship - that he's not a good partner to u and u have to Manage him - creates a separation. and it's not like he's not trying or like u don't love him ur just not very in love. u can't even remember the last time u were. then one day strange people come to ur house and ask u to meet ur husband's work self. the one that has dedicated his literal entire life to supporting your family. ur uncomfortable but you go. and there is ur husband but for the first time in years he's just focused on u. he thinks ur so cool and so beautiful. he's so excited about the fact that you have kids together. he gets worried about the idea that his outside self might not be a good partner to you. he's Certain that his outside self must be happy even if you can't see it bc he's so happy to be around u. he asks if he can hug u.

The (un-fucking-hinged) conversation that Snow had with Haymitch REALLY puts Peeta’s hijacking (SPECIFICALLY against Katniss) into perspective. Snow could have hijacked him to hate the rebellion, or district 12 or even himself. But no, that old loser just HAD to finally prove to one of those district 12 boys that their girl didn’t really love them, JUST like his didn’t really love him. Was it a smart move to potentially have Peeta attack Katniss on sight? Yes. But more importantly, it allowed Snow to control Peeta in a way that let him live out his own fantasies about being unloved and having power over his girl.

I have a headcanon that Sanji struggles with wanting/asking for non-sexual intimacy from Zoro. So if he's having a rough day or just wants to be held by the man he loves he'll initiate sex in order to feel that connection, regardless of whether he's actually in the mood. But Zoro's gotten unnervingly good at telling when he's doing this and redirecting to give him what he actually needs in that moment.
