[TW: grooming] Gentle reminder that Luke castellan was a 19 year old adult going after a 14 year old Silena, emotionally manipulating her and basically grooming her into giving him information. (Luke was said to have recruited Silena sometime after he left chb, which is basically the ending of TLT and Silena was 14 in TLT while Luke was 19) and continued to do so for 4 YEARS (the time between TLT and TLO is 4 years, and Silena only stopped falling into the trap after Charlie died, which was in TLO)

I hope the pjo timeline is an eye opener for the naive as fuck fans defending and justifying Luke's behaviour and having the audacity to deny that Silena was indeed groomed.

There's a difference between appreciating well written complex characters vs actually glossing and meat riding their problematic and questionable behaviour. A huge fucking difference. I think Luke is a good written character, but seeing the amount of fans justifying him being a creep scares me.

"Grooming" (I took the definition straight out of the internet for the detectives that will probably scrutinize and chew on my post lmao) is when someone builds a relationship, trust and emotional connection with a child or young person so they can manipulate, exploit and abuse them.

Luke took advantage of Silena to BOTH manipulate AND exploit her for information.

Don't even get me started on the "he had a terrible home life, he was traumatized as a kid, what else can you expect?" yeah he was, but how was that Silena's fault? She shouldn't have to be taken advantage of , suffer without even realizing it, and pay the price to Luke's insanity, just because Luke had internalized issues like other demigods did?? How is that a fucking excuse??

Look me in the eye and tell me that Luke was "so hot because of how crazy, messed up and unhinged he is"

You know how you look up to someone and how someone looks up to you? Okay, now make it g/t

Lemme explain via example: Imagine a writer who types all their stories on their computer. Maybe they share them online maybe they are way too nervous to do that, and just keep it a secret hobby. Anyway, one day they leave their desk to do something only to come back and notice that their writing document moved to a different page, and their computer didn’t fall asleep like it usually did. This confuses them but they brush it off, telling themselves that maybe they were faster than normal and maybe accidentally moved the page.

However, it keeps happening. Each day they walk away for a moment or even longer, their computer never falls asleep and is on a completely different page. This starts to freak them out. So, they decide to walk away and then sneak back as quietly as possible. When they peek their head inside, they see a tiny little person at their computer, just staring at the screen. The writer watches as the tiny continues to read their story, and that’s when they realize, they’re reading the writer’s story. They walk in, spooking the tiny. The tiny is in shock, they can’t tell if it’s just fear of being seen or getting the chance to actually talk to the writer whose work they adore, perhaps a mix of both. Maybe the tiny gets overwhelmed and before the writer can ask the classic “What are you” question, the tiny burst into a bunch of questions about the story the writer is writing. The writer taken aback by this, just awkwardly answers them and tries to ask them a question only for the tiny to continue asking questions. Eventually the tiny remembers that “Oh right… I’m not supposed to be seen…” and cautiously asks if the writer is upset with them and whether they will hurt them. The wrier assures them that they are mad and won’t hurt them and are honestly glad that their computer wasn’t hacked or there was a ghost or something. Also, how could the writer ever hurt their biggest…well smallest fan?

Maybe they build a friendship where the tiny helps the writer with ideas and getting over those writing hurdles. Hell, maybe the tiny even was inspired by the writer and tried writing their own story and shares it with the writer. Maybe the writer gains the confidence to share their stories online or even publish their work all because one little person loved their work. Perhaps the tiny, with the help of the writer, shares their own stories while hiding their identity as a tiny from everyone. So many possibilities! Just tiny little fans, forgetting they should probably focus on not being seen and not “What is Character’s favorite thing to do when they are bored?” Like sweetheart probably not the best time, but go for it.

The only thing you liked about going to school for was band.

Lets be honest, when you're doing something after school like a sport, that becomes the only reason you want to go to school. You get to do something you like while you are surrounded by people who are just as excited as you. And since you weren't a sports girl, it was band class. And even though you didn't play the piano or the trumpet, the teachers still liked your energy.

Oh, and Leo did too.

The two of you met during a session in detention (you both were the class clowns of each respective class,) and you guys almost imminently bonded over your similar interest of dark humor and musical interest. You also found out Leo played the drums.. and lets just say you fell for him over that.

But, one thing you and other Band players got used to was people asking for song requests. Y'know, people ask if you can play this song with your instrument or attempt to. Not that you didn't like trying new things, but do you know how annoying it is when you get out of band class all tired and some kids (you don't know) come up to you and ask for you to play [ insert song ] for them. You say no, they get mad, and then you've somehow made somebody mad because you didn't wanna play Ed Sheeran on your electric guitar.

So for the most part, you stayed away from people who would ask if you could play them a song. Well, except for your boyfriend, Leo.

Was it a little wrong to let your mans ask for requests but not others? yeah. But did they understand how you felt? nope! so they don't get to ask for you to play any song privileges.

So one day, when your oh so awesome boyfriend came up to you and asked if you can play a Beyoncé song (you both love Beyoncé,) you were glad to play it for him.

It took you a second to actually play it since you had to hear the song a few times to understand how the beat went, but once you got it? there was no stopping you. You played the full song with the song playing in your headphones, so you couldn't hear how you were playing. Leo sat next to you, tapping his fingers onto his thigh. At first, you thought he was just being his normal fidgety self, but really—he was tapping the lyrics in Morse code.

How did you know?

The little dude asked you out in Morse code. He knew that you'd be able to decipher what he was trying to say, so he just did it. And somehow, it worked. It was hands down one of the most well-thought out and geeky things you'd ever seen anyone do.

"Hey, [your name] ?" Leo moved one side of the headphones you were wearing off your ear so you could hear him.

"Yeah?" You raised an eyebrow.

"Wanna play the song together?" he asked, a smirk slowly being placed onto his lips.

You smiled back. "You already know the answer to that."

Let's just say, the two of you caused quite the ruckus in the music room that day.
