Enjoyable read. I could almost smell the desperation of the writers in the air. The two writers were just as I'd imagine they would be when stuck and there's a deadline looming. I though it dragged or went over the same ground a few times, but it was worth getting past them. The cloudy father/son/boyfriend relationship when revealed had me shaking my head, I thought it kind of unnecessarily convoluted. The plot is one I haven't run into before in a romance book and having the writers swap genres for inspiration worked well for me. I found it entertaining, original and had an enjoyable couple of nights relaxing with the book.

Social media influencing is a trendy timely subject. Over-the-top influencers with their slick videos, perfect trips where nothing goes wrong and lots of product endorsements are everywhere on social media. As fascinating as they are they're also annoying. This brings us to Darcie Freeman. Darcie has gotten to the point in her "career" where it has gone to her head. She believes that fans are the only people who matter and it's her right to take luxury vacations promoting stuff all on someone else's dime. Having to be video ready perfect has become ingrained and it's like high school where you'll just die if you get a pimple. It's big business and Darcie is slipping down the ranks, panic sets in. She's sent to Scottish Isle of Skye by her pushy agent to write & photograph a travel guidebook, thinking she's being punished and this place is the portal to hades. Unlikable for the first part of the story it turns out she's not empty-headed and cold. Handsome local Logan is hired to be her guide and he leads Darcie on a three week awakening journey. Logan is a simple guy happy with his life, loving his home and manages to teach her simple doesn't mean dull, he's got a romantic soul. Camping by the beach, picnics, tours of old castles and gardens. I'd never thought a geologist would be handsome, fairly young, interesting and swoon worthy. It was an enjoyable read and I loved the HEA, it's a favorite ending trope of mine.

(AOTD) I live in the US and a few years ago I actually visited a few countries in one trip - Spain, Portugal, France, and England. It was such a fun trip! We are starting to think about where we want to go next. I would love to see more of the Mediterranean. Today, I am starting a read along of Ten Years by Pernille Hughes. In it one of the main characters- Charlie - immediately takes off for the Americas after his fiancé’s death. He is so torn with grief, he feels a need to be somewhere not full of memories to help him heal. While Becca- the other main character- takes the loss of her best friend with equal pain but instead focuses on her career with a new drive.
