I've been thinking about how much I actually dislike Damian becoming Batman as an adult and how I think it would be way more impactful for his character if he broke away from both of his parents and formed his own identity, which led me to "Well, who should become Batman then?" and well. What if nobody becomes Batman after Bruce steps down. The family carry on his mission, his message, but not his title, because Bruce helped them become something else, helped them become better than him. The goal was never to become the next Batman, it was for them to grow and learn and become their own people. Batman never dies, he is an eternal symbol, but one that they all wear instead of physically inhabit. I think as Bruce ages he should realise that Gotham doesn't need Batman, because now it has so much more than just Batman.

ok ok ok, now imagine logan is smoking a cigar (bc he doesn’t drink that much anymore but he still has his little guilty pleasures), in jeans, in a tank top. wade comes in to bother him bc that’s his new favorite pastime. wade sees the cigar and makes a possibly terrible/ excellent decision to piss logan off just a little bit

and then he just plucks the cigar from logan’s lips. spins it around. and lowers it to grind the lit end right below logan’s collar bone

heavy eye contact. logan shocked, letting out a small gasp, but so quietly into it. wade freaking out in his head bc it was supposed to be funny (and just a little playfully flirty) but now there’s something so fucking charged between them it’s threatening to send them up in flames

so wade pulls the cigar off logan, tucks it back into logan’s lips, and hightails it out of there before he does something truly, obscenely stupid
