BIOGRAPHY

EARLY BEGINNINGS

Alice was born on October 30, 1993 in Meteora, Greece via C-section. While she greeted the world, she left her fraternal twin brother, Atticus, behind. Alice and Atticus do not share the same father and therefore are twins due to heteropaternal superfecundation

Alice's father met her mother while on a business trip in Greece. They had a brief yet torrid love affair and afterwards, her father went back to Chicago, planning to never look back. However, when he found out that he had a daughter on the other side of the world, he couldn't leave her behind. Shortly after Alice was born, her father flew back to Greece and collected his daughter. Growing up, Alice had no idea about her origins

Alice's father, David, didn't know quite what to say when he brought a little girl home to his wife. Needless to say, she was furious and swiftly filed for divorce, leaving David to be a single father to young Alice. While Alice was growing up, David tried to be there for his daughter, despite his busy work schedule

Growing up, Alice was very close to her father, even though he had to go away for work a lot. Being a hotshot lawyer, David had plenty of money to supply Alice with nannies and practically anything she could ask for, though she didn't really care about any of that. Her favorite thing was getting to spend time with her father. However, she always felt the aching absence of a mother figure and David never really had a good answer when Alice inquired about her mother. Her father just felt like it was too complicated a situation to explain to a young child

As a young girl, Alice got involved with figure skating and at the very beginning, she'd wanted to be a professional figure skater. While her love of writing overtook that dream, she never stopped skating, as she always loved the feeling it gave her

While Alice was relatively well-behaved throughout her childhood, she developed a rebellious streak in high school and began to act out. She would sneak out, go to parties, and get drunk. David was at a loss of what to do for his daughter. He tried disciplining her but that only pushed her away. Alice felt like she deserved a little freedom and it was all just good fun--at least, that was until she met Tristan

Tristan was a few years older than Alice and was your classic misunderstood bad boy--though when they met, Alice didn't realize how bad he truly was. What started out as a whirlwind romance quickly spiraled into a cycle of abuse. Even worse, Tristan introduced Alice to heroin and she was instantly hooked. Alice, who desperately wanted to feel loved and cared for, quickly fell into this cycle and once she was in, she had no idea how she was going to get out

Alice, a 17 year old who had once been a straight-A student, was now regularly skipping school to meet up with Tristan and get high. Her grades quickly plummeted and it wasn't long before her father figured out what was really going on. After a huge fight with her father, Alice sought solace in a needle Tristan. In a desperate attempt to numb everything out, Alice accidentally overdosed on heroin and when Tristan realized what was happening, he bailed, leaving her for dead. It was only thanks to her father finding her in the nick of time that she was able to be saved  

THE BREAKING POINT

What no one realized at the time was that Alice had been suffering from hallucinations for over a year at that point. The first time she experienced the hallucinations, she thought she'd been drugged. But she quickly discovered that she was having at first auditory, and then visual hallucinations, even when she was stone-cold sober. Being a teenager, she felt like if she told anyone, they'd think she was crazy so she kept it to herself. Sickeningly, it seemed that heroin was the only thing that gave her relief from her hallucinations, which only further fueled her addiction

When Alice came to in the hospital after her overdose, she was met with a look of frightened relief from her father. David was at his wits end and didn't know how else to help his daughter. He informed Alice that she would be going to a treatment center to get the help that she needed. Though Alice went kicking and screaming, quite literally, it didn't change her reality--she was stuck in that hospital for what felt like forever

Alice certainly wasn't cooperative at first. In fact, she spent about a year-and-a-half treating her treatment plan like a joke. She would sneak around, find the liquor that the staff had stashed for themselves, and get wasted. Unable to get her hands on any drugs, she settled for alcohol instead. While alcohol hadn't been a huge problem for her before, it now became her crutch. While in treatment, she was diagnosed with severe depression and she found out that the hallucinations had stemmed from a bout of psychotic depression which occurred due to lack of treatment. Even with this information, Alice was perfectly fine with rotting away in the facility for the rest of her life, too lost in her self-loathing to better herself. It wasn't until Alec showed up that everything changed

For better or worse, the prospect of love is what motivated Alice to really work on her recovery. Alec, who had once been one of Tristan's old friends, showed up one day out of the blue--and as a patient nonetheless. Even though he'd hung out with Tristan back then, Alec wasn't anything like Alice's abusive ex-boyfriend. Alec was kind and sweet, if not a little lost, and their romance quickly blossomed. After another year spent actually working towards her recovery, Alice was finally released from the hospital and things moved quickly with Alec

A FALSE START

After getting out of the hospital at 20, Alice was ready for a fresh start. Sober and feeling happier than ever, she enrolled in college where she studied journalism, as she'd always wanted to be a writer. She and Alec moved into together almost immediately and everything was bliss

During her second year of college, Alice was reunited with her long-lost brothers, Atticus and Cyrek. After spending her entire life as a lonely only child, she suddenly had a twin brother and an older brother to bond with. At first, she was unable to forgive her father for lying to her for so long. She'd asked so many times about her mother and where she was and all he'd done was lie. She didn't speak to her father for about 6 months but eventually, they reconciled. After all, she couldn't deny that David was the one person that had been there for her as a child. Sure, he hadn't always had the right answers or known what to do but he had stayed and that's what mattered to her the most

While Alice's life was seemingly cheerful on the outside, inside, she was struggling with her recovery and she relapsed a couple times. Still, even with a few bumps in the road, she never gave up. Through each relapse, her loved ones were always there for her, especially Alec--which is why it was so devastating to discover that Alec had been dealing drugs behind her back to make ends meet. One evening, Alice had found a massive load of pills stashed inside the toilet tank and she almost lost it. Oddly enough, a huge blowout argument resulted in Alec asking Alice to marry him. In hindsight, it was clearly doomed from the start but Alice was so happy at the prospect of having someone to love her for the rest of her life, she was willing to look past this mistake

After a long engagement, as well as some trials and tribulations, Alice graduated college with her Bachelor Degree in Journalism and got married to Alec. It was a beautiful wedding day that was filled with all of her loved ones. It was the start of something so promising--Alice couldn't wait to build a family with Alec and grow old together. But unfortunately, it was never meant to be

Alec had been struggling mentally, though he'd kept it a secret for Alice--that is, until he could no longer keep it hidden. One night after Alice got home from work, she found Alec in the middle of a mental break. She'd tried to calm him down but nothing worked and he eventually ran off into the night. He disappeared for 2 straight weeks--Alice had had him declared a missing person and everything. However, when he finally did re-emerge, he apologetically told Alice that he needed help and space. Though she insisted on sticking by his side, in sickness and in health, he insisted that he didn't want her by his side. This broke Alice

Alone and abandoned, Alice spiraled into a depression and relapsed with heroin. Thankfully, her brothers quickly helped her get into rehab where she was reminded why she had worked so hard to get clean in the first place. Since then, Alice has proudly remained sober

A NEW LEAF

Life after marriage was difficult for Alice and she went through a period of feeling very ashamed of her failed marriage and the fact that she was a 25 year old divorcee. Even though all of her loved ones knew it wasn't her fault, she couldn't help but feel embarrassed and for a time, she foolishly swore of love entirely

Though she was still heartbroken over Alec, what was even more devastating was the fact that she'd planned to have a family with her ex-husband and now, that had all been seemingly ripped away from her. However, after a while of being stubborn, Alice finally realized that she didn't need a partner to have a child. She made the decision to go forward with invitro and in December of 2019, she found out that she was expecting

On August 12, 2020, Alice gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and named her Rhea. The little girl, now almost 4, is Alice's pride and joy. Even though one day, she would still love to find someone to share her life with, her daughter, her amazing extended family, and her wonderful friends have truly made Alice the happiest she's ever been

Alice is currently a journalist at the Anchorage Daily Diem. While she tries her best to only stick to the stories that her boss wants her to cover, due Alice's natural curious mind, she often finds herself getting into sticky situations and putting her nose where it shouldn't necessarily be

DISCLAIMER: My native language is Brazilian Portuguese, not Spanish nor English. Due to that and the differences in language expression, I made some changes/paraphrases while translating to accommodate the context, but the overall understanding remains 98% loyal to each candidate’s speech.

BadBoyHalo

BBH proposes that he is the only person capable of carrying out the necessary decisions that the president of Quesadilla Island must take. He believes he is the only one who has the courage to make the difficult decisions necessary to keep the island safe and sound for the residents and prevent a dictator from taking power, all while protecting the eggs.

Foolish

Foolish is excited about the opportunity that the island has provided. He says he wants to enjoy and make the most of the situation because it's not every day that you end up on a crazy island with a diverse population speaking a variety of languages. Some people would prefer to get out of here [Quesadilla] as soon as possible, but he wants to make friends with everyone and enjoy everything the island has to offer.

Etoiles

Etoiles stated that he is charismatic, generous, and that the only negativity he carries is for himself and never for others. Etoiles sets out to explore the island in order to better understand the environment of where they are; he will visit as many dungeons as he needs to get a better understanding of the island.

Baghera

Baghera stated that she has her head screwed on the right way and wishes only the best for the islanders. She values communication and maintains positive relationships with everyone. Baghera believes she is capable of dealing with any fervor or rash situations that may arise. Quesadilla Island is where she was introduced to motherhood, and as a result, she has a specific goal. The place that gave her family and friends is one she must protect at all costs.

Felps

Felps work(ed) as a shipping officer, bus driver, artist, and gardener. What he wants to do is make everyone happy by giving more rights to eggs, noodles, and pasta.

Forever

Forever stated that he is one of the most active players on the island, and as such, he will always be there to protect the people's interests. As a professional Minecraft player, he has many ideas for community projects. Forever describes Richarlyson as one of the happiest things that has happened to him, as well as meeting all of the island's inhabitants (despite the fact that the French make a lot of noise at the egg hotel), given how everyone is very friendly and entertaining.

Mike

Mike promised to restore order to Quesadilla Island, his favorite aspect of the island being the islanders themselves. He would forbid the use of waystones, which would improve the island's dynamics by forcing players to build paths between their bases, allowing them to finally implement a railroad train system.

Cellbit

Cellbit has had prior work experience as a tribute (HG), murderer, prisoner, and detective. He claimed to be Roier's husband, capable of making eloquent arguments and pose intricate inquiries in various scenarios and circumstances. In summary, he believes he is a good president for the Island's future, both for introducing new creative ideas and new narratives to other content creators, as well as for protecting the eggs. His husband, son, and friends are his most valuable things on the island.

Gegg

I swear this isn’t bad translated; it is literally what has been said.

Gegg said he's a businessman, going door to door Gegging. He's a Geggwar criminal. He is an influencer of the family lifestyle. Gegg changes the world. What Gegg likes most about Quesadilla Island is the humidity, the damp places and caves. Gegg promises you freedom. Gegg promises the truth. Gegg promises you power. Gegg promises the abolition of all government rules, taxes and any existing laws. The government establishment holds us, so Gegg will release us. Just one geggrule: believe in Gegg, because Gegg believes in you.

El Quackity

His speech is about his character as well as the election scenario (from the perspective of a Content Creator, not a character). I decided to put it all together because it was somewhat scrambled and also because it was an important reminder for the community.

According to ElQuackity, there is a lack of organization and order. He believes that in the ideal scenario, this can be resolved. He believes that his candidacy in this work and position is critical, and that it will be the best possible. One thing to be clear about it: during his campaign, he will do whatever it takes to ensure that the people have a good president. Thus, he reminds and states that this election event isn’t predetermined, scripted, or planned, and there is no pre-written ending. Elections will be decided by the votes of creators, the efforts of creators, and the votes of the community. He warns that if If he decides to kill a candidate or an egg because it suits his political campaign, he will do so. And, if another candidate decides to kill him for their own benefit, it will be done. No one (except the creators) can say anything to encourage another narrative. We, as a community, need to understand that none of the creators will truly hate each other if one decides to attack the other or kill the other for their own campaign benefit. He encourages the community to support their favorite candidate, but if a creator decides to do something bad to another creator within the game at any time, those who send hate towards creators for actions taken by players in game will be rightfully banned and restricted from all QSMP chat streams. It is, after all, a game. It's a block game. The decisions made within the game will be made by the creators themselves. If the creators ever have a disagreement, it will be solved in private DMs. And nothing bad will ever happen because all the QSMP members are adults who understand that this is all for entertainment purposes. Thoughts on Nagito x Mikan?

I always appreciated how Nagito was the only one that was patient with Mikan (sure it was only really one time but that's still better than everyone else). But I like to imagine during their time at Hope's Peak he stands up for her, even if it is in a quiet, unerving way...

On the other hand, them together would probably be chaos for each other. The combination of Nagito's unluckiness and Mikans clumsiness would probably mean they trip over each other more often than others. Nagito wouldn't mind at the start, but maybe after a while...

Whereas, Mikan would probably enjoy Nagito's unluckiness, since he would probably get hurt quite a bit, or at least need the most care, thus, he will always be dependant on Mikan to a degree...

...as long as she doesn't take it too far...

This comic was in my sketchbook for a long time  until I decided to polish it up and finish it. It was tooth and nail to finish and a lot of “dammit this is crap, redraw that part“ but it was worth it despite the constant interruptions to my art time.

born on the 21st of december, 1934 in provo, utah

was raised in the latter day saints

had a keen interest in chemistry from the time she could express it, but because sciences were discouraged for the girls in her family, learned mostly about the science in domestic work

amazing baker, had the exact ratios for each ingredient memorised by the time she started school

became fascinated by fermentation and saw the scoby and starters as her pets, watching them make bubbles for hours on end

learned the old burning-things-with-a-magnifying-glass trick, but only used it for leaves because the ants didn't deserve that

one time when she was 6, she made chloroform out of cleaning chemicals, put it in a glass bottle, and smashed it in front of her bullies to see what would happen

just before school started, her parents noticed that she would always hold books very close to her face, amongst other things, and when they took her to the doctor she became the proud owner of some incredibly nifty glasses, if she did say so herself

only had one friend in school, alma merrill, who she thought was kind and funny and beautiful and...

even though she didn't understand what barb meant when she talked about exothermic reactions, she'd still sit there and nod along, and she had so many exciting things to say in return even though it wasn't what barb usually liked

when she grew up, she wanted her husband to be just like alma

when they were 13, alma was told to stay away from her because she was 'queer, and not only in the loony way' (neither barb nor alma could figure out what that meant)

after that, she focused most of her time on her studies, which her parents were now suddenly encouraging of

("at least it'll keep her away from sin," she heard her parents whisper when they thought she wasn't there)

graduated high school at 15, youngest ever at her school

brigham young university wouldn't let her in until she was 16, so she took a gap year

she was told to stay on the property except for church, but as long as she did her chores and continued to learn household management, she was allowed to do whatever she wanted

she took this opportunity to study mechanical engineering, watching her father teach her brothers how to fix the mower then reading about engine torque

she knew that her ideas on how to make it go faster wouldn't be listened to, so she told her younger brother, isaiah, what to say and let him take the credit

he needed the praise, but it still hurt

but it was overshadowed by how good it felt to be right when her idea worked

at university, she was a bit too young to participate in the whole courtship thing that made up the backbone of social life there

she couldn't understand why her peers would choose to do all that for just some guy, but maybe she just wasn't old enough yet

graduated an accelerated course, a bs in applied physics with a minor in biochemistry, in 1954 at 19 years old

immediately applied for work in the military for the travel benefits

worked her way up very quickly since the need for chemical and nuclear weapons was increasing and they needed an innovative mind

at first it was weird, the way things were so different outside the church, but eventually she came around to the office culture of relaxed chatting over coffee while on break

and huh, come to think of it, the people she met were all different, and most of them seemed like pretty decent people to her

there wasn't an exact moment that cracked her belief, more just an increasing awareness of her own cognitive dissonance

and when she was invited to come back to provo for her endowment, she didn't respond

in late 1955, she got an offer from the a.s.s. to join their equipment development program for field agents where she would get full reign over what she did, and how could she say no to that?

and, ok, so there's this one guy, right? he's a field agent, his name is curt, and he's infuriating, but very conventionally attractive, and you know, theoretically, it wouldn't be awful to date him

it takes a lot of work to feel this way, but she's pretty sure that she could be, no, is attracted to him

and she gets to be the one to supervise him on missions!!

but the issue is that curt has this friend and they're always together

if she wants to date this guy, she has to find some alone time, so she has to get rid of the friend

however... this guy, curt's friend, he's shockingly competent at his job, and he stops curt from dying constantly

plus, he's nice to barb, even if it's in that weird stiff british way all the mi6 guys seem to be

and one day, when she's briefing them on a tool neither of them have ever used before (of course they haven't, barb invented it herself), this friend, who's been staring behind her the entire time, says 'why don't you make the handle smaller? that way it's not as bulky and makes it easier to press the buttons on the right in a combat situation'

and oh.

the answer was that simple.

from then on, he stops being known as 'curt's friend (british)' and starts being 'owen (my best friend)'

they become each others' sounding boards, each of them dumping all their ideas out and talking through it with each other

barb knows how all the technical stuff for how her inventions work, but owen is detached enough to not overthink it and just state the obvious that she forgot

owen is continually formulating arguments and debates; why he should get a raise, why his partner (who barb still hasn't met yet, she hopes she'll get to meet her some day) should consider his point of view in conversation before going off on a tangent about something that wasn't even what he suggested, why whatever politics going on in england actually does affect his siblings, etc.

picking apart his arguments and playing the devil's advocate is one of barb's favourite things

curt is an unwilling participant in this little club of theirs, and often provides what she assumes he thinks is comedic relief

and for the first time, barb is content with how things are going for her

Okay, so. About a year ago something happened in my brain that I still don't really understand, I know part of it was physical (endocrine system glitched real bad) but a lot of it wasn't, it was psychological. And at the heart of it, I really believed the best thing I could do, especially for the fandom I loved, was to vanish and leave no trace. Like. It was a lot more complicated and messy than that, but there was that at the core if it all, just this feeling I had to go because I was holding others back.

So, this means a lot to me. I am getting better, I'm still being pretty careful of my brain, I think there's a myth that trauma makes a person stronger and more resilient every time, as I think for a lot of us, scars just kind of leave us hampered?

Anyway. Thank you for this. I do want to continue writing, it's just slow going for now. 💜

Now I’m curious about the Super Punch-Out!! dancing and music headcanons. If you don’t mind, of course.

I don't think about these guys too often, but I'll give it a shot! (I'm making an exception from my wii-only headcanons for you, dear anon)

Gabby Jay:

He plays the pipe organ of all things! He plays for a local church all the time and also plays piano for their choir. Not particularly noteworthy but still a skilled musician.

He sounds like Tom Kenny when he sings and when he tries for low notes he squawks like a crow. That being said, he DOES have fun and does not give a shit about his skills. He's too old to care about who thinks he's cringe so he sings whenever he wants!

An ex-ballerina like Glass Joe, but struggles a bit more due to his age. He does have more skill but big leaps are always a 50/50 on whether or not he'll end up roughing up a muscle or two.

Piston Hurricane:

Plays the guitar. He's pretty good with acoustic and frequently helps Bob write songs. He's been dipping his toes into bass and electric guitar and really loving it so far.

Average singer, though he has fun while doing it. He gets really bad stage fright though so don't ask him to do karaoke. Bob sometimes features his voice in tracks but credits him under a secret name at Hurricane's request. He's quiet and whispery, but some encouragement and singing with others makes him open up.

He's from Cuba so dancing's in his blood! He knows tons of dances and is particular to the mambo and cha-cha-cha. He's always down to groove with someone or by himself but does like dancing in a group or with a partner more often than not.

Bob Charlie:

He plays a few instruments but focuses on electric guitars and synths. Music is truly a lifestyle of his and part of almost everything he does. He's basically made of music. He's had a ton of classical training and even working his way towards a doctorate in music theory!

His voice is relaxed, low, and overall very smooth. He's a great singer and always a treat to listen to. Though he prefers going solo with his singing, duets with friends is something he'll never turn down. A constant hummer and singer.

He's THE jive king of Jamaica!!! He can dance real good! He likes 50s/60s style dancing like jiving, jitterbug, and swing over dancehall stuff. This made him a bit of a point of mockery from his peers but he doesn't let it get to him. He has 2 favorite dance partners, one being a former girlfriend and long time friend of his back in Kingston and the other being Hurricane ;) Hurricane is teaching him how to mambo and Bob is loving it to bits.

Dragon Chan:

Plays the Dizi and Hulusi, two traditional wind instruments. He plays bassoon and oboe too. He was apart of a lot orchestras and school bands growing up so he's pretty familiar with music.

Can't sing. His teeth make him very self conscious and he has a very obvious lisp so singing is not something he ever pursued. He also considers his voice to be too 'girly' because it's high-pitched and breathy, so hearing it in song wouldn't be something he enjoyed anyways. Beatboxing is a bit of a hobby of his and something he practices regularly, though he's never been brave enough to show off.

The only traditional dances he can do are the Wulong 'dragon dance' and the Jianwu 'Sword dance'. Outside those two, he's another b-boy and loves his kicks and spins. He's also been picking up ballet from Heike and incorporating it into his style.

Masked Muscle:

Has never played an instrument ever. Nope never. (Played glockenspiel in middle school but swears it never happened because it embarrasses him)

His singing is quite nice! He's particular to love ballads because that's where he can flex the most but keeps it a closely guarded secret at all times. He is fairly happy to grito when singing, though, including while singing along to punk and rock music.

Not much of a traditional dancer. All dancing skills of his lie in club dancing- man goes buckwild for that shit.

Aran Ryan (Snes version):

Plays the clarinet and penny whistle, though hes far better at the clarinet. He was a band kid throughout school and bullied a lot for it (Among many other things) Right now, he's trying to pick up the penny whistle again so he can feel more connected to his culture.

He can sing, but very average. Though he likes to sing folk songs and shanties, his voice dies out when he's expected to sing in irish. He just can't speak the language and lacks any confidence to try, so his voice gives out.

Not a dancer at all. He's got no skill whatsoever and thinks dancing would make him look stupid.

Heike Kagero:

Though he does play shamisen, he much prefers to play with his soundboard when making music. He's got a love for synths and digital music that far outweighs any interest in traditional instruments. They do like playing the traditional flute samples Dragon recorded for them though... like a lot

He can sing very well! However, singing in a falsetto range is tough on them so they don't do it as often as they want. His voice is a bit on the deep side and makes him kind of dysphoric most days. They're actually a bit jealous of Dragon's voice and wishes they could sing in the range he speaks without straining themselves.

He's a damn ballerina and kabuki of course he can dance!!! They adore dancing with Gabby (And sometimes joe) and do it at least a little bit every day. He's a master of the art and very proud of that fact.

Mad Clown:

Not an instrument guy but can tear it up on kazoo.

As a professional ex-opera singer... yeah he can sing! He practices to this day and even used his skills back when he was a clown. Even today, his voice is a strong and overwhelming bass- it brings most to tears.

He's not much of a dancer. What he can do was stuff he learned in the circus and tends to make him look silly as a result. Though, he does do a mean waltz and knocks socks off when he picks his partner up and makes them feel like a fairytale princess (he can be a very romantic fellow)

Narcis Prince:

He plays loads of instruments but has only kept up with piano, viola, and piccolo. Viola his his favorite, followed by piano, though he plays piccolo more because he can just carry it in his pocket all the time. He likes showing off a lot and knows how skilled he is. Also he likes playing the recorder as awful as possible to make people mad.

Though he has gotten proper vocal training, he doesn't sing much. His voice is often muddled because he has a very odd range as a tenor and might even be a rare contra-tenor but he's never tried singing so high. His big claim to fame is being able to consistently break glass with a wail. He can do it while singing too, but he prefers the wail because it's much more awful on the ears. He normally employs this on people who piss him off. It's pretty effective at scaring people (With the sole exception of his family maid) and works well in getting him what he wants when threats don't work.

Not a dancer at all. He did ballet lessons all his life but refused to learn anything, his teacher gave up very quickly and just watched him play basketball instead.

Hoy Quarlow:

Plays the pipa and quin quin and even tried the electric pipa and bass! He definitely likes his lutes and has been very interested in trying more guitars. Most of what he does is at home and non-professional, so he's just having fun.

He sings mostly folks songs but does love blues as well. Age hasn't been too kind to his voice, making it rough and hard to sing, though he's still got a lot of strength and passion in him! In his youth, his voice was very solid and even, but now it tends to crack.

Traditional dancing is his main skillset but he can do a mean Charleston. He is banned form doing the Charleston because he keeps throwing his back out. Everyone has had to stop him from attempting to krump at least once at this point. Old man has so much groove in him but his bones no longer have the strength to support his passion.

Rick Bruiser:

He and Nick played trombone in school, but only he kept it up. Playing around with it in public is something he does for fun all the time. Though, he isn't allowed to play in the house anymore after he kept following Nick around and doing long slides whenever he did anything.

Not a singer. Even with the same voice as his brother, this guy can't hold a note no matter how hard he tries.

He and Nick aren't dancers- they think it's stupid and for girls.

Nick Bruiser:

Played trombone and hated it. He was always more into drums and wanted to play the timpani but couldn't bring himself to stray too far from Rick. Nowadays he drums on just about everything he can and can hold a solid beat but hasn't convinced himself to buy a drumkit... yet.

A great singer but doesn't sing. Their dad mocked him for it and made Nick feel like singing was something unmanly and unfitting for him. He still carries this sentiment heavily and looks down on men in choirs and refuses himself the pleasure of singing along to anything.

Like said above, him and Rick think dancing is for women. Neither brother had passion for dancing anyways but when their mom caught them trying pirouettes (So they could get dizzy) she shut it down very fast and punished them for trying to be girly.

Peter Punch (Birdie):

Swapped between a lot of instruments before settling on the sax. He also liked being in drumline but didn't like carrying his drums around. He's been in jazz bands but normally just sticks to playing on the street for funsies.

Average singer, but only ever sings along to songs on the radio. He tends to get distracted and start giggling while singing so he isn't the best person to go to if you want something serious.

He does square dancing and polka dancing. A lot of people find it goofy but he doesn't care- his family has been doing it for ages and he's more than happy to keep up the tradition.

SO the thing is some of these aren't outright displayed in the fic yet so i know putting them in the tropes page would be irrelevant(?) BUT I'm happy to explain bcz rambling is my joy in life

Blue-and-orange morality

Changelings don't have a sense of morality like humans or trolls do, both due to their methods of creation and the unfortunate conditioning of being made as tools to be used and then killed when they're no longer useful. Karai doesn’t see the world in the same context as humans (i.e. Good -> Evil, Moral -> Immoral, etc.) instead it's entirely based on the scale of Keeps me Alive -> Will Kill Me, with the arguably MUCH more important scale of This Will Get Me What I Want -> This Will Be Unpleasant. Add in that she doesn't actually consider harm to herself to actually Count in this equation and it's a recipe for Confusing and Horrifying the CRAP out of the Hamatos. It takes a lot of mental gymnastics to understand her thought processes until they realize this. A key point to Blue-and-orange morality being that it's incomprehensible to outside species.

Values dissonance

As a part of what's above, what Karai values and cares about is VERY different from what the Hamatos (and most normal, modern folks) value. A small example, assuming they would never actually want her around until she provides them the REAL Miwa, as she isn't Yoshi's actual daughter, when chances are they likely would’ve accepted her on the spot given the chance. A better example: Karai considers death and critical injuries to be fine or acceptable given a half-decent reason, or if you're powerful enough that you don't need to justify yourself.

Have you tried not being a monster?

I'll admit I'm not too sure what my original thought for this one was. I believe it was just relating to how in human form, changelings can be completely 'normal' and will go to EXTREME lengths to hide their inhuman status. Cause if they get revealed it will absolutely lead to mortal peril and a lot of shock and horror from everyone around them? Idk like I said idr my initial logic

Then let me be evil

Changelings don't even care about being good, because the first ones were conditioned to either do awful things or they and their familiars die. Those changelings taught future changelings to just be evil because there’s absolutely no point in trying otherwise, so might as well be Good at it and have fun with it. Trolls treat changelings as abominations and never like people. Humans never even get the chance to see changelings, but human mythos says everything about THEIR opinions. Changelings are evil because right out of the gate they're never given a chance to be anything else. Ties real closely into Internalized Categorism, Fantastic Racism, Fantastic Slurs, "It" is Dehumanizing, and honestly I could go on for a while about tropes relating to this and how we've seen most trolls canonically texting reacting to changelings

Conditioned to accept horror

This is the obvious one. Karai’s a changeling and has gone through a LOT of awful stuff. Some of it bothers her, but there's a lot of it that's just straight up numbed. She doesn’t care about her injuries beyond how they impact her functioning; she's fully fine with and enjoys murder, torture, and eating humans; the turtles are constantly Horrified by the things she casually reveals about her existence as a tool made to infiltrate humanity and then die. She's only bothered by the Shredder’s treatment of her (attacking her for no reason, blaming her for her injury, giving a severe enough wound that wasn't given chance to heal properly) because she sees it as stupid and illogical, NOT because of the awful unfairness and cruelty involved.

I cannot just let you all charge into that accursed tower without me, can I?" Additionally, there was no telling what Zenos would do should she not show up and xaela felt disinclined to get those heart considered family too involved. She HAD to go through with this, even if every fiber inside being fiercely wished for otherwise.
