Wendy (left) and Mabel (right) are a great example of an Opal versus a Peach Opal, or perhaps a Peach Opal and a Super Peach Opal??
I'm glad I held them both back to observe and compare.

i feel like the snowlings would know that sejanus is the father of thalia opal pretty early; her hair is textured in ways that can't just be passed off as C or S's genes. however, thalia opal & julius rose probably don't realize they're siblings until their parents sit them down and are like "listen. you cannot date each other." and when they (jokingly! they don't actually want to date, but messing w/parents is fun) the secret comes out
I think they suspect but never addressed the issue until, as you said, some paparazzi spread the rumor that they are dating and all the adults sit them down to reveal the Big Secret. And yes, after that they sure will mess with their parents 😂 but just for fun, they never date of course.

Snake Intervention
The train trips were even more fun when the weather outside turned colder, Opal decided as he settled comfortably under one of the chairs. The train was busy today which a few months ago would have likely made him nervous. Now he was already used to the fact that trains were fun spaces where everyone minded their own business that allowed you to visit places where you wouldn’t get to under normal circumstances.
He just settled his head on his coils in preparation for comfortably spending the ride home when he got the feeling that he was being watched. In general, it’s never a good thing to be watched so he lifted his head again, looking around in alarm.
A human hatchling was looking at him, sitting in one of those seats with wheels that humans called prams. The humanlet had its hair gathered to the sides in two tufts. It looked a bit funny, but then again, hair usually did. When it saw Opal looking back the little human did a few jumps in the pram thing, reaching out a hand and announcing ‘pwetty!’
Opal preened but moved a bit deeper under the chair. Human children could be adorable from afar but he wasn’t keen on the idea of anyone petting him. Thankfully, the humanlet decided that extolling Opal's beauty was enough and busied itself messily consuming puff pops.
Really, taking bites was so impractical. Swallowing food whole was so much more elegant when it came to eating. But to each their own he supposed. The little human was still kind of clumsily adorable though.
As they were nearing Opal’s stop the snake was surprised to discover the humanlet’s parent moved them closer to the door as well. It seemed they might actually be from the same neighbourhood. It was always nice to learn something about neighbours, humans though they may be.
The adult human lifted the humanlet up in its arms and did something to make the ‘pram’ fold a bit. The range of things humans could do with their hands was really impressive at times. Opal was almost jealous.
The train came to a stop and the door opened, the human with the humanlet trying to step out only to be pushed back in by another human rudely shoving their way inside. Opal’s apparent neighbours almost lost their balance and the humanlet started crying. That was enough for Opal. if this human didn’t know how to behave, someone clearly needed to teach them.
Swiftly slithering from under the seat Opal side-slid the humanlet with their parent and lifted himself up, bumping the rude human with his snout as hard as he could. The human fell back, landing on their soft behind, which was a bit odd because Opal was sure he couldn’t use that much force. The important thing was, they clearly understood the error of their ways as they quickly backed away from the door. Satisfied with the job well done, Opal slid onto the platform and left the station, very proud of himself for doing a good deed.
Who knew, maybe he’d meet his neighbourhood humans again? That humanlet was kind of cute to look at. Especially when it wasn’t eating or trying to pet him.
---------
While I imagine this makes very little sense out of context, the explanation of who Opal is and why he is on the train can be found in my Anathema/Newt Good Omens fanfic.
