Co-creation space for Photonics Deeptechs- a vision to light of entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation in Brazil is promoting a Webinar in celebration of the International Day of Light 2023. The main objectives are:
(i) dissemination, popularization and diffusion of the importance of light for modern society.
(ii) introduce startups in the Photonics area and encourage integration between actors in the Brazilian photonics ecosystem.
This activity will consist of 10 minutes’ oral presentations each participant. This event will be transmitted by the Ministry Youtube Channel and, additionally, it will be recorded to be watched lately.

{24 mars} Following my visit to the Fashion X AI Touring Exhibition last month, I had the chance to meet Dr. Jeanne Tan at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (#hkpolyu) and her intelligent textile research/development team in person in the #workshop “AI and Textile for Fashion and Lifestyle.” During the workshop, we were shared their groundbreaking research results – #illuminative Polymeric Optical Fibre (#POFs (Chinese: #光纖)) #Textiles 💡 comprised of a contactless gesture recognition system that change colour via hand gestures and invited to brainstorm ideas among the #designers on the #AI applications for #fashion and daily life. What I particularly couldn’t get enough of was a mini loom given to each of us on which we tried handweaving the POFs with the woollen yarns 🧶 I’m not tech savvy but I’m thrilled to witness the combination of innovative #technology and fashion that has given rise to a brand new landscape of the industry. This is the CS Cable Innovator, it is specifically designed for laying fiber optic cable and is the largest of its kind in the world [source]. Built in 1995 by Kvaerner Masa of Finland, it is 145 meters in length (476 ft), with a breath of 24 meters (78 ft) and a depth of 8.5 meters (28 ft). It is capable of carrying up to 8500 tons of fibre optic cable.
The ship has 80 cabins, of which 42 are officer cabins, 36 are crew cabins and two are representative suites. The normal endurance of the vessel at sea is 42 days, but this can be extended to approximately 60 days through logistical support.
