lando really tried. he attempted to bury his feelings as deeply as he could, but you make it so difficult. the way you're the only one who laughs at his silly jokes, the way you try not to miss any of his races (and send him a good luck text when you can't be there), the way you randomly smile down at him – he could talk about everything you do for hours because he loves and knows every single details about you. sometimes he hates how you make him feel because he just wants to say, 'fuck it,' and kiss you for hours and hours. he can't even count the number of times he's thought about kissing you or the countless times the three words almost slipped out of his mouth out of nowhere. but the thought of losing you forever hold him back everytime, he can't even imagine his life without you. he doesn't know how, but lando has fallen for you, really, really hard and it just keeps going, he just can't get enough of you.

you never imagined that having an f1 driver as your boyfriend would be so challenging and that you'd have to spend half the year far from him. at first, it wasn't a big problem, and you got used to it quickly. but at times, it really tugged at your heart. carlos always makes sure to call you when he is free and send you texts at random times of the day to ask how's your day going and tell you how much he misses you, but it's not the same. carlos had asked you more than to join the venture, assuring you that his income would be more than enough for both of you. you thought about it—a lot—but the idea of making such significant changes held you back. now, when you think about it, you realize that losing carlos over a simple matter of distance would be a mistake, especially when there's a solution within reach. perhaps traveling the world with your f1 driver boyfriend isn't such a bad idea after all.

lewis hamilton ☆ heart attack (bestfriend's sister)

lewis doesn't even know how he fell in love with you. perhaps it was the way your smile warms his heart or how you effortlessly make the most boring conversation so captivating. it seems so absurd that, out of all of the people, he fell for his bestfriend's sister. lewis never imagined that it will be this hard to fight his love for you and act like his mind is not filled with thoughts of you 24/7. how could he possibly get over you when just being in the same room as you drives him crazy? he thought about telling your brother, he really did but the thought of losing his long time friend and you along the way held him back. so he decided to bury his feelings deep in his heart and keep his thoughts in the back of his head. yet, with every echo of your laughter from the next room or just the sight of you, his heart would go crazy.

george russell ☆ loved you first

george can't help but think about the stupid mistake he made a few months ago— not confessing his love for you. he had so many chances to do it, to tell you that he fell hard for you and he can't stop thinking about you. but the day he finally decided to do it, he didn't expect to find you arm in arm with another guy, totally breaking his heart. he just couldn't take it anymore, seeing you with him every day and acting like it was fine, as if the looks and smiles you gave him didn't warm his heart and make him want to take your hand and run as far as he could. because george, he's deeply in love, and it's getting deeper every single day. it's so unfair— he was there first, he loved you first. the worst part is that you know how george feels, and you might even feel the same way. george loved you first, and he's going to make sure that you know that.

max tried to date other girls, multiple times. however, it never felt the same. how is he supposed to move on when he's consumed by thoughts of you 24/7? he can't even engage in meaningful conversations with his dates because his mind always drifts back to you. he spends countless nights trying to erase you from his thoughts, to convince himself that it's truly over. yet, deep down, a flicker of hope for your love still lingers. max thought about the endless nights he's spent replaying your conversations and wondering what went wrong. he's haunted by the way your smile lit up his world and the warmth of your hand in his. even though he's tried to move forward, the heartache is still here, reminding him that sometimes, love refuses to fade.

It has come to my attention that I am letting people down because we are “severely lacking in content” and prompt updates. I am so sorry to have failed you all at this completely voluntary, unpaid, unrecognized job of running this update account. 

I’ve been running DNN by myself for 3 years at this point. Two of my friends help when they can if I’m completely unavailable. I have a full time job, other interests, and a life outside of fandom and Niall. Not a single person from the original group of owners is an active stan anymore. 

When there are important updates, they are ALWAYS prompt. All his instagram posts, all his tweets and announcements. Anything related to music is immediately posted. Everything exciting (like his thing with Lewis the other day) was posted. Sorry we’re not posting every single FAN picture that barely anyone reblogs, from yet another golf tournament! No one cares that much about those anyways and even then, we’re posting the HQs that we have and worthwhile content. Every sighting throughout the weeks is also posted, and sometimes that includes his girlfriend! The same way we do with Deo, Mully, Martin, every person who’s a constant presence in his life. Sorry we don’t treat her like she’s a disease! 

It IS hard work running an update account, people have gotten burnt out from it all the time. When he releases music, it takes hours and hours of work to post content in a well organized and formatted way. It takes a long time to find content because we always source where we got it from. There is no “credits to owner” or posting without the original link. And every other account everywhere posts without credit so of course it’s faster?? I spend HOURS trying to find things for DNN just to make sure it’s sourced?? 

To act like we owe anyone anything, to answer multiple asks specifically targeting and attacking me, to talk like I work for the fandom and i’m failing at my job is disheartening. After all the work put into this blog for YEARS, sorry I needed a breather while he’s not doing anything related to his music career and have chosen not to post every single image or video ever. 

You have two other options, one that steals HQs we’re paying for without crediting us and one that hates everything about him outside of 1D. You’re not obligated to reblog anything from DNN! I haven’t posted this for praise! I don’t want anything out of this. But at least be decent towards the people behind the blog. You don’t get to treat me like I’m fucking up and shit talk me on your little hate blogs.

I am sorry we shouldn’t be rude but each time any of these a things happen, I always question the mental acuity of the 1D/Larry fanbase. All of their comments are wow Harry is going to kiss James again, Lewis Capaldi when are you going to kiss the rest of the boys, Harry owned Olivia by kissing Nick whatever and being rude at the premiere of his movie that he was forced to be in. Harry totally showed the Brits by being all over Stanley Tucci when on stage instead of actually acknowledging the music that he was supposedly being rewarded for.

All the people involved play to the galleries. They seem to not know any other discourse. I am grateful when Louis refuses to acknowledge the tomfoolery. He may not be commercially successful and I will always hate his team but I am just thankful that the only things he obsesses about are the Euros or the new technology in the market that will revolutionise everything.

Fandoms are human swarms without morals or logic. The most amoral celebs and fans thrive in this environment.

The goal is not love or community or empathy or peace or saving the planet.

Every action is geared toward more popularity, translated to more stuff to sell, and greater wealth. It’s never about the art, always about materialism (Fearless 2.0).

Louis, as much as he rails against it, is also trapped in this celeb world of “the more you matter, the more stuff you should be able to sell.” The 1D boys have been trained to translate salability into self-worth, and they won’t ever escape it entirely.

But I’m very grateful that for Louis, there’s never any doubt that the art comes first. Art matters for Louis. It did when he was 18 and just learning about songwriting, it does now, and it always will. We can see the difference with his ex-bandmates and with other musicians in their age group. For people like Louis (and Taylor Swift), art will always come first, and so their art will always grow; every album will show curiosity, intelligence, exploration, and originality. It might not always be good or perfect, but it will be theirs and it will be original.

Artists can’t control what the audience will theorize. They can only control their art. In forty years, Larry Stylinson will be a shameful, insane chapter in fandom history, but the songs will still be here. Louis’ responsibility is to his discography.

Hi anon!

As luck would have it, I have a little time to write up my Love on Tour experience today. :) I've had a few questions about what I wore, so I included a picture of my shirt. (I also had the black hoodie with "Treat People With Kindness" in rainbow lettering, but shed it soon after Harry came on.)

I went to the show with my wife and daughter (My son and his wife would have enjoyed it too, but it didn't work out for them this time. She and her sister went to a 1D show before and her sister saw Harry in 2018.)

We got to the show with time to spare and did the requisite merch shopping. All I really wanted was the Love On Tour shirt with the rabbits on a red, checkered background. Of course, they were out of them in XXL. I'm a tad over 6' and 220 lbs (20 of which is excess fat I should lose) so I'm not a huge guy, but do have very wide shoulders. Anyway, one of those Gildan T's in XL would be too tight in the shoulders for sure and I hate when they're tight in the armpits. I had to settle for one with a giant picture of Harry on it -- again! (We checked at 3 merch booths too!)

The main demographic of the crowd seemed similar to 2018, but 3 years older. That said, my daughter and I both think there was a higher percentage of young men and 40+ people there this time around. Our seats were on the 200 level, about half way up. (A Ticketmaster mistake/glitch cost me 100 level seats way back when they were first available, but these were still great seats.) From our perspective, we were slightly to the right of the center stage. Okay, now on to the show:

Jenny Lewis has a very pretty voice and her sound was pleasant. All three of us felt she lacked stage presence and her performance was pleasant, but rather dull. None of us were familiar with her music beforehand. My daughter did say something like, "Only people who are high would have really gotten into her music/performance." A funny comment, given she wore a white outfit with marijuana leaves printed all over it! It's a little harsher than I would have said it, but I think fair. Most people remained seated throughout her set and I even "rested my eyes" for a couple of songs. I think her music qualifies as country? I'm just grateful her singing was lovely and absent the obnoxious, heavy twang so many country singers use. (Being unfamiliar with her music, I couldn't understand many of her lyrics, so if her music is meaningful to you, please ignore my opinion.)

We had about 15 minutes between Lewis' set and Harry (great chance to drain bladders.) We were back at our seats when a song came on the speakers and I asked my daughter, "What the hell is this song?" She said it was Brittney Spears and I immediately knew it must be the one (couldn't remember the name) Harry covered at Harryween. Sure enough, I was able to make out the word Toxic shortly, which reminded me of song name! (Sorry Harry, still not a Spears fan -- although I do commiserate with her in this conservatorship business.)

I don't think Harry's current band has a name, so for the sake of brevity, I will refer to them as the "Love band" going forward. As soon as the Love band appeared, the anticipation level went up about 300%. Soon enough, the "Harry box" was wheeled to the end of one runway, causing the crowd to erupt! He popped out of the center stage very close to 9:00 pm and the show was ON! Everyone was on their feet for most, if not all of Harry's set (which, I think, lasted about 100 minutes.)

I am so happy he has Carolina and Only Angel on the set list this tour! I wouldn't even care if they truly had the superficial "stunt meanings." Both of those songs just ROCK in live concert! It occurred to me that Carolina is the Sunflower of HS1. Set aside the lyrics -- both songs are highly inventive in sound and the mix (arrangement) of instruments. Both are stellar examples of Harry experimenting with sound and coloring very much outside the lines of "regular" music and genre conventions. Also, elated he has Sign of the Times and Kiwi from HS1, but it would be a bigger surprise if he didn't include those songs.

Okay, this is already getting long, so I'm not going to describe every song. Harry was absolutely electric! You know he's one of the greatest, most charismatic performers in modern music history, but forget how powerful and moving it is to experience first hand. The lighting, big screen videos, everything is first class and extremely well executed, but it's all icing on the cake. Harry doesn't need any gimmicks. He could easily hold the crowd hostage to his every note with only a guitar and a mic. He could do it, even without the guitar, honestly! Harry's voice is even better this tour than last (and I didn't think that was possible!) Many (if not all?) of his songs were a key, or two lower than the album versions. As a bass/baritone, I could easily sing along with Carolina, for example, while the studio version is too high for me. This has a huge advantage for strain on Harry's voice as he sings his heart out night after night. I loved hearing more of his incredibly rich baritone register. Don't get me wrong, he also hit some stellar high notes! He made it all sound effortless and he can transition from one register to another so smoothly it defies explanation. Harry's voice is utterly unique -- no one sounds like him and he doesn't sound like anyone else, not even from his classic rock roots. His voice has the rich, unique character of a Johnny Cash, or Top Petty combined with the skill of a top tier singer. (Cash and Petty were great and I love them, but they weren't great singers, really, especially Petty!)

Another thing about Harry's performance is the nuance. He never over-sings, or goes to far with runs/improvisations. He does improvise, quite a lot, in concert, but always with an ear to the natural flow and melody of the song. His voice is always well supported, full and rich -- whether he's singing softly, or belting in triple forte. Harry is putting on true live shows. He's not lip-syncing, or using live auto-tune to stay on pitch. The quality of music you get at a live Harry Styles concert is as good, or better than most artists' studio recordings -- and that is incredible!

And that brings us to the amazing and spectacular Love band! The arrangements for each song are just superlative! The band mirrors Harry's energy and professionalism as they follow his (sometimes unpredictable?) lead! Often, electric guitar solos are excessive in show-boating and excruciating to the ear -- even while showing great technical proficiency. Mitch's solos add, rather than detract from the songs. His solo on She was exquisite! The sound was, in many cases, very different from the album, but so rich, full, beautiful and satisfying. The A cappella harmonies at the beginning of Cherry were perfect and such a beautiful rendition.

This is getting realllllllllly long! I'll close out by saying Harry must have run/danced/skipped for miles! Doing all this WHILE maintaining a ridiculously high vocal performance is no small feat! When he took up a rainbow flag (toward the end of the show, when he must have been tired) the sort of skipped/sprinted/floated the full length of the stage. He seems to draw so much energy from performing live. My wife, daughter and I all enjoyed his concert immensely and we are so glad we went!

Sometimes I think Portrait unlarried, left tumblr and gave his blog to a bts stan. An ex Larrie came crying to him today asking if it was okay if they stayed in 1d fandom after unlarrying and instead of saying that was fine and discussing the respective merits of H and L's fandom (Louis' top heavy with tinhats and best avoided, Harry's fans more likely to hate Larries than be Larries) he suggested they leave the 1d fandoms altogether and join the bts Army!

In another post he said Niall had no celebrity friends when everyone in the fandom knows that the guy has had regular love ins with Shawn and Lewis on his IG and at parties. He posted himself and Sam Smith eating burgers in a car too.

Interesting! Just why the disco pop of BTS would be a good substitute for a fan of Harry's rock/pop and Louis' indie, I have no clue.

Harry popped up at his pop up, sold out his secret location show, appeared on Ellen, and played the Live Lounge. Apparently jealous of Niall and Louis getting the Lizzo compliments he covered Juice ("just trying to get on Lizzo’s map really that's what this was for.") (And because her "bops are good.") He seems to have caught a cough from someone* but he sounded amazing anyway on that and the other three songs he played (more than guests usually get.) And the lyric changes omg! The lyric 'Louis down to my drawers' (which would have been quite the choice omg) became gucci, Jeff and Mitch were name checked (changing bitch to Mitch, fucking brilliant), but he left 'you better come get your man' and went all in on it. And he was great in the pre recorded Ellen spots! Way to steal the show comedy genius. He also waffled a waffle on there we haven't seen the likes of since HS1 promo about what the album was about, subjected us to a graphic demonstration of his alarming lack of gag reflex, and said the Sara Lee sketch was his favorite from SNL. Tomorrow, the big show, but first a radio one spot: in a preview we get Scott Mills saying some people just get sexier as they age and Harry immediately jumping in with oh yes like Patrick Dempsey! Can you believe people think this man is a player, he hasn't even got a new celebrity crush in the last decade...

Niall was at the Chicago Jingle Ball tonight and him and Lewis did a song (Teenage Dream) together!! They sound so good together I can't wait for more beautiful harmonies every night on their tour! He also complained about the cold (reasonable), responded to a harrie posting hate about him (probably not the best use of time but wow), and was super impressed watching fan covers of his songs for a Glamour video. And! A vevo live performance of PALLOM! Even more stripped down! Beautiful.

Liam sang Live Forever on both the Tonight Show and the Today Show, and played a round of name that tune with the previously undefeated Jimmy Fallon which was cute as hell, and won it by recognizing the distinctive cowbell intro of, yes, WMYB, and he said Post Malone slid in his DMs.

We got a cute interview with Louis by a self identified longtime 1D fan which is nice but I'm still stuck on the part where they said they picked him as their favorite in the X Factor days because he was "quiet" and "brooding"... I know we all project different things onto our faves but wow that's... a take. They also said "2020 is going to be THE year of Louis Tomlinson" and ya know what, that I agree with entirely.

Christmas gift roundup, Harry says he wants his favorite bag fixed and gives the trash out of his pocket to Scott Mills to give as a secret Santa gift, Liam says the worst gift is socks and Louis says he'd like to get some socks (Liam voice, I mean we're just really different people from each other you know?)

*I didn't say he got it from Louis who had a similar cough last week, but that is a much cuter thought than that the germy miasma from the GA at Fine Line Live was so bad that it somehow got even Harry; between camping all week and sick people being crammed in with everyone for all those hours and the shared water bottles, the reports of contagion are awful. Get your flu shots everyone! Now brace yourself, I'm about to say something positive about HSHQ- thank god they took steps to prevent camping out in freezing weather in London for the show tomorrow. It's gonna be a wild rush when they announce the location day of but a better idea nonetheless.

Harry has rose to fame FROM 1D....with liam, louis, niall AND zayn. Majority of the 1d stans back in the days were fans of harry. Now how can u not expect him to be the most supported one.

And above all, i think its niall who is most underrated when it comes to appreciation. He proved himself to be a dedicated and a serious person from a goofy boy who gave no damns.

I just hate those harries. Imagine whats gonna happen if larry comes out.

I heard the Lewis Capaldi song and maybe its just my taste but I didn’t enjoy it at all. It’s still the top of the charts though in UK.

I think songs do sell on the name of the artist rather than the quality of the song at least initially.

How does Louis become synonymous with good music is the thing his team has to figure out? They have to fight years of baggage of the not talented one in 1D. Another thing they have to fight is the hate people have for him because of being fans of Harry and not liking the Larries.

If he wants to be seen as a good musician then he has to believe he is a good musician. He can’t make a playlist and leave his own music out, it makes you think he doesn’t believe in his own songs. He needs to stop talking about how he was trying to find his sound and may not have made the best album he could have but talk about how only the brave really captured people’s heart. Instead of talking about how he didn’t write an album that would chart well he should take a leaf out of Catfish and bottlemen’s book when they replied to him on Twitter that they were going to knock off 1D from the charts because they believed in their music.

He can’t sing bigger than me and then say we got that out of the way after the first time singing it. He needs to be more spontaneous and just sing songs like musicians do while jamming, they don’t have to be always perfect. I know that his confidence took a beating because he did that in his early 1D livestreams but now he won’t sing a line of song unless he has rehearsed it before.

I know I am putting it all on him but I feel if he did these things then he will get more confidence to push his team to promote him well. If he has the confidence we have in him he would push as hard. He wouldn’t see himself through the Larries/1D eyes who always look at him as what he is getting is more than he deserves because after all he is the least talented one.

Allllllright so here we are, as promised, a masterpost of some of the crazy stuff that has happened in the One Direction fandom since the beginning of time. This list definitely isn’t exhaustive because I’m pretty sure it’s virtually impossible for someone to remember absolutely everything so feel free to message me/reblog with additions, but with that said lets get going:

1) #LETNIALLSING

off to a great start!!! this hashtag was started during a one direction performance pretty early on in their career, when fans noticed that Niall’s mic pack had been turned off during his solo. people immediately thought that it was management (shocker) who turned off his mic because they didn’t think he was talented enough to have a solo during their live shows, and so #LetNiallSing (LNS for short) was born. fans created a petition on change.org (seriously) so that Niall could have his fair share of solos during 1D’s performances, and tons of fan videos and edits were made (example) -- they’re literally amazing please google them. turns out that during the performance that started #LetNiallSing, Niall had accidentally sat down on his mic pack which caused it to turn off which was why you couldn’t hear his voice, so LNS kinda just died. it’s a good memory though.

2) The time that fans “hacked” the CCTV at Auckland airport to watch One Direction wait at their gate

3) That time a girl "killed" her chihuahua so 1D would follow her on twitter

this is not real, it’s a little graphic so sorry about that but if you’re gonna blame anybody blame @ illumivato on twitter for tweeting this mess. so theres that.

4) Stalker Sarah and her accidental feature in the What Makes You Beautiful music video

Stalker Sarah (heres a little background info on her) (is she still around????) was basically a girl who had met like literally every celebrity and had a particular fascination with one direction 

one day someone noticed that Sarah had made a surprise appearance in the background of the What Makes You Beautiful music video. I’m pretty sure this one isn’t real but its still funny and there were a lot of good memes about it back in the day (example)

5) Lewis Jones

Jumping a little ahead in time here, meet Stalker Sarah 2.0, LEWIS JONES. again, not a whole lot to say about him, more of a reminder that all of those pictures exist

9) The Calder Triplets

This fancy little theory came out of ~2013. The idea was that 1D’s Management recruited 3 actresses to stand in as Louis’ girlfriend on a carefully calculated cycle for reasons that I’m not gonna get into on this post but you can easily google them. 

Eleanor (the only actual Calder) apparently had 2 sisters, Gretchen and Tina, this was mainly because of a number of pictures in which Eleanor’s face looked different, or because of Eleanor’s height differing in comparison to Louis depending on the picture. Here’s a good post that’ll walk you through the whole debacle.

10) Mr. X

Mr. X was this anonymous twitter account that “”””predicted”””” stuff about One Direction and then one day he was like oh yeah btw someones gonna kill Harry and people freaked out and #HarryBeCareful was trending on twitter

11) Niall Violently Masturbating in Japan

MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE. This is probably one of the funniest One Direction rumours in the world, maybe one of the best pop culture rumours of all time and I am not being dramatic. It is so funny like I don’t know how else to describe it it’s so good. LETS GET TO IT. The story is basically that while One Direction was on tour in Japan, a fan found Niall up in his hotel room “vigorously masturbating”, banging the walls, swearing, and yelling some phrases that could only have been brought to us by the comedy gods themselves; “wey hey”, “up the lads”, and “that’s the craic”. The girl apparently had a video and was blackmailing Niall, saying that if he didn’t “hang out with her” she would release the video.

This is (obviously) fake but it’s seriously one of the funniest things that I can think of at any given moment. Here’s a link to a masterpost of some of the jokes that came out if it. So good.

12) The fanfic about Harry that got published into a real legit book

I actually hate this one, I think it’s awful but it was dramatic at the time so here it is.  For completely obvious reasons, Harry’s name in the story had to be changed, so the author changed it to Hardin. I’ll let you mull that one over.

13) One Direction’s trip to Australia when Liam had his underwear stolen straight off of his hotel balcony by some girls who also tried to break into his room

14) Harry accidentally favourites some 18+ content on twitter

Harry was looking at some good old fashioned twitter porn when he accidentally faved a pretty graphic pic, and then in true Harry fashion made a joke about the weather and faved a bunch of pictures of puppies and kittens to cover it up. 15) Last but definitely not least, Conchobar Tomlinson

Before sweet lil Freddie Tommo (here’s a pic of him just because he is so cute that i cant stand it) was named for real, someone started a rumour that his name would be Conchobar, which is an Irish name that is apparently “pronounced like Connor”.
