My wonderful friend Haya is only 18 years old and trying to get her sick mother (a kidney failure patient) and the rest of her family evacuated from Gaza to Egypt. They barely survived an airstrike that blasted all the windows out of the house they were in when Israel attacked Deir Al-Balah last week and were displaced again 02/24/2024 and the situation is extremely desperate. Hunger Striking for Palestinians

The genocide in Gaza has been going on for way too long. War crimes are being committed against the general population and causing widespread devastation and catastrophic levels of destruction, displacement, and starvation.

Next week, I am starting a hunger strike to stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza. I invite you to support me by sponsoring my hunger strike.

To support this (safe) hunger strike, I would like you all to contribute to my dear friend Hani’s (@skatehani) GoFundMe campaign, in order to help his family evacuate.

I will add one day to my hunger strike for every collective €50 donated to his campaign. You can donate any amount. I will hunger strike for up to TEN DAYS so I am aiming to have at least €500 donated to Hani.

Hello everyone,

Brazil is underwater, and we come here asking you for your help.

As some of you may know, the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS) has been getting torrential rains since last Monday (29/04/24).

In four days, it has rained 436,2 millimeters (17,2 inches), which’s triple the normal amount in a month, which is 140 millimeters (5,5 inches) 

More than two great rivers in our region had their volume duplicated, or sometimes, triplicated in size.

This means all the cities that are close to these rivers ended up completely underwater

There were more than 110 towns flooded and the estimate is that more than half a million people have been affected by this climate disaster. There are also thousands of people who are arriving in my city (the state capital, Porto Alegre) as climate refugees, coming from communities displaced by the floods.

Through this unprecedented tragedy we have been really happy to see entire communities mobilizing to help others. Still, there are people who have lost everything, especially those in marginalized communities living in precarious, unsafe and unsanitary housing.

That’s where you come in. We need money. Money to buy food, clothes, medicine, basic hygiene products, mattresses so that refugees have a place to sleep, basically everything.

Right now, the biggest demand is drinkable water: my city is almost completely out of water, because the water treatment stations have been flooded. 

We understand that you may be able to give very little, but also what is little to you means A Lot more to us. Just a dollar is enough to buy 5 liters of fresh water.

this morning i woke up and as i was scrolling through the fundraisers gaza funds share every day on twitter (@/gazafunds) I thought "hey i wonder if the one i donated to the other day reached it's goal" and found out that they didn't which is crazy cause they're literally so so so close and it has been three days so !! ↓↓

This is the link to help Hani. Hani is a skater currently living in Belgium and rebuilding his life. His family lives in Gaza and are suffering at the hands of the occupation. His father was killed and they lost their house. He is now responsible to protect his family.

He needs the funds to help them evacuate. Please donate and share this.

“After losing my house and its destruction on October 13th, my family became displaced in tents, and on September 15th, I lost my father due to the attack on Al-Shifa Hospital. My father was suffering from kidney failure and passed away due to lack of treatment. He was the breadwinner of my family. Now I am responsible for my family, which consists of 10 members, including 3 minors, and my 18-year-old brother. The rest are my sisters, including two toddlers, one is 3 years old, and the other is 2 years old.”

“My siblings were university students and had dreams too, but because of the war, they lost everything; they lost the university, our home, and our father. They aspire to continue their studies at the university, but the war destroyed everything. I'm now trying to get them out of Gaza to Egypt to rebuild their shattered lives. To do that, they need to be evacuated, and they need to pay for the coordination into Egypt. Due to war time prices, they're asking for 5,000 euros per person to get them out of Gaza because northern Gaza has been completely wiped out, with insufficient food and people scattered among the rubble of homes under heavy bombardment.
