Obsessed - James Patrick March x Fem!Reader
Pairing: James Patrick March x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Nsfw, fem rec. oral, slight overstimulation, not much else.
Type: Headcanon
Request: Can I get uhhh... first time with James Patrick March from AHS? //^^// but only if you want to! If you don’t then just ignore this! I live your writing anyway! 💞✨
Word Count: N/A
Prompt: First time with James Patrick March!
Notes: This only took me four years, but I got to it didn’t I :))) Okay so I wasn’t specified whether it’d be hc or a one shot so I just went ahead and went with hc! If you’d like a one shot feel free to send it in!
Tumblr media
♡ James becomes completely and utterly devoted to you the moment he sees you.
♡ When he finds out that you’re as innocent as a hummingbird, it only furthers his obsession with you.
♡ He’s always smothering you
♡ James always makes sure you’re not hungry or cold or missing anything really. Almost to the point that it’s kind of annoying, a little bit.
♡ Anytime he sees you, he greets you with lots and lots of kisses, kissing your hands repeatedly and up your arms shamelessly.
♡ He will not hesitate to treat you like a goddess, mark my words.
♡ His attention is 110% on you, literally has tunnel vision when it comes to you.
♡ If you ask him to take your virginity, then you better brace yourself because he sure as hell didn’t.
♡ The question would truly shock him.
♡ “Why Y/N. It’d be my soundest of pleasures.”
♡ Of course he would take the whole day to make this as special as he possibly could for you.
♡ He’d occupy the best room in the Cortez for the time, as always but this time with no interruptions.
♡ James would make sure it was flawlessly elegant, the most beautiful of drapery and matching bed duvet.
♡ Room service would be ordered in for whatever your liking. He’d even order in some fresh strawberries and champagne for the special night.
♡ Honestly at first, he’d let you make the initial move.
♡ Though he’s super eager, he knew it was a big deal and he wants to make sure this is what you’re ready for.
♡ You kiss him first, which as he describes it, is “an electrifying experience”
♡ He remains soft with you though, kissing you back gently. He was holding back for sure, it was by no means easy though.
♡ But when you begin to kiss him more hungrily, he kind of loses it a little.
♡ His kisses become a bit more desperate, but still with love, to the point where you do have to pull away for air.
♡ He’s so intoxicated by the way that you smell, your taste, your touch. He’s ready to devour you right where you are.
♡ He takes his time in placing you on the bed, delicately taking off your clothes, placing soft and gentle kisses on the parts your skin became exposed.
♡ Taking note of what you like and what you don’t like. It exhilarates his behavior to watch you tremble.
♡ He gives you your first hand job, making sure your wetness soaks his hands, he doesn’t even know if he’s scissoring his fingers in your cunt for himself or for you.
♡ Watching your head fall back in pleasure is everything to him, he even tilts your chin forward to look at him as tears well in your eyes.
♡ James twists and turns his fingers in you, a sinful smile never leaving his lips, as the time slipped away, he became hungrier for you.
♡ Your pleasure brought a desperation James hadn’t seen in decades.
♡ He’s obsessed with your pleasure, it brings a euphoria to him in a similar way that killing does.
♡ Once he’s rubbed all your slick against your folds, he starts to lap at your core. His arms hook under your legs to bring you closer to him.
♡ I’m obsessed with the idea of him kneeling in the most uncomfortable position but so desperate to eat you out that he’s just there in place in bliss as your arousal drenches his face.
♡ He can be there for hours. He doesn’t really talk you through an orgasm, but when you feel yourself clenching up, he continues his pace, with a hand on your breast, squeezing it gently as you rock your hips against his face.
♡ You apologize because you have no idea what happened but he’s not listening like at all.
♡ He does this over and over until you are practically weeping.
♡ When he first enters you, he has you on your back, looking right at him already succumbed into pleasure.
♡ You’re so lost in your orgasms that it didn’t sting when he entered you, in fact he wished he could record this moment for his own pleasure.
♡ Your eyelids half closed in bliss, he didn’t take long to pick up the pace, still quietly assuring himself that you weren’t in any pain.
♡ It didn’t take long for you to cum again, allow me to speculate that seeing your coat of white on his dick sends him over the edge.
♡ He keeps fucking the orgasm out of you. All you could do is lay back and brace yourself. You can grab and pull and scratch at him all you want, he’s pounding you into the mattress.
♡ Id say James has a pretty decent tolerance so it’s going to be a long night of orgasms after orgasms.
♡ Mr. “Are you aware that the average woman is capable of 8 orgasms in a single session?”
♡ You’re not even capable of responding, barely able to comprehend what the whole sentence was and that only drives him to keep going.
♡ The picture of you helpless, covered in juices of arousal, twitching in pleasure and eyes rolling back in bliss. He’s obsessed. And he caused all of this.
♡ This is your first time but he’s treating you like a toy, he’s so desperate to see you like this. Normally he’d try all kinds of positions but since it is your first time, he wants to see how much you’re capable of.
♡ He’s kind of infatuated with the view and of course it boosts his ego in a demented sense. It’s not until you start crying out that you can’t take it anymore.
♡ He’s cautious at first, getting to know your limits, but give it some time he’ll encourage you to keep taking it because he knows you’re capable.

Maggie, Maggie
#1 Do not take my theories to Neil! None of them, nohow!
#2 Big fat spoiler, which I suppose I should have said on my previous theories, but hey. Big fat spoiler!
Here we go, I think I know something new.
I've seen a few blogs where people have suggested that Maggie is Jesus 2.0. I didn't think so at first, but now I do. Maggie is Jesus 2.0, and Crowley and Aziraphale damn well know it. Here's my evidence:
See this post about how I think Crowley and Aziraphale are hiding something. Hiding someONE? Yeah, I think so. Who the hell would they be hiding? Who would an angel and demon who averted Armageddon be hiding, especially if they are expecting a second go 'round? The BIG one, as Crowley says? Fucking Jesus, that's who. Okay. Now we're cooking with gas.
Maggie is clothing-coded as both a demon and an angel. Y'know, much like Adam is described in Good Omens the novel. "Part demon, part angel, all human."
Maggie is a bit of a goodie two-shoes. "Never was that sort of teenager, never wanted to drink, no judgment." Oh, yeah? A little better than other people, are you? Not in a hoity-toity way, just, a little better than others. A little.
Loved that record store since she was a baby, huh? How did she remember it since she was a baby? Much like Adam remembered the other two babies he was in the hospital with, as described in Good Omens the novel. "You never forget your first friends."
Maggie calls Aziraphale an angel. Not as if she knows, but as if she subconsciously knows. If she is Jesus 2.0, I don't think she's come into her powers yet.
Aziraphale expects her to be able to sense the archangels when they come to ask about Gabriel and the 25 Lazarii miracle. And the whole time he's asking her about the record, he's looking out the window very nervously, repeatedly. I've seen a few people note that a car horn sounds and he looks at it anxiously, and that does happen, but he is anxiously looking out the window the whole time. What is he watching for? In case someone notices him talking to Jesus, maybe? And when she doesn't understand what he's talking about with the archangels, he shrugs it off and refuses to explain, as if he has suddenly remembered that of course she won't be able to sense them, not yet, anyway.
The ball: Not only does she want to stay behind and help without knowing what's going on (very brave and generous), she invites the demons in by mistake, AND Aziraphale can't miracle her to go with Crowely and forget all about this. He tries in a bit of a panic, then gives up, as if he's remembering that oh yeah, he won't be able to miracle her, she's freaking Jesus.
That's why "miracles don't work like that." It's not that Aziraphale can't miracle people to fall in love, it's that he can't miracle Jesus. At all.
The main reason Crowley and Aziraphale are so nervous about Gabriel showing up is because they are scared he is spying on them and will notice Jesus. The audience assumes Gabriel is scary enough on his own, and pay no attention to the fact that A/C are trying to keep him clear of noticing ANYTHING out of the ordinary.
That light in her record store. You know, the one that looks EXACTLY LIKE ADAM'S LIGHT in the first season? (Thank you @youryurigoddess for pointing out that you had these screen shots!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
11. Look who else wears orange and blue:
Tumblr media
I'm inclined to believe there's more going on with the people on Whickber street, but I'm not sure what, and some of Maggie's behavior gets a little questionable and hard to explain, but this image is what keeps me up at night. Why are Jesus and Maggie the only two people in the entire second season to wear orange AND blue?
The question that I do have is: What did Maggie do that had the same power as a 25 Lazarii miracle?? Because my entire theory revolves around Crowley and Aziraphale knowing -- or suspecting? Or searching for and being closer than even they know? -- that Maggie is Jesus, or will be; Saraqael being in on it; and them hiding whatever the BIG miracle was actually for and the audience assuming they are hiding the Gabriel miracle -- which they are not, although they are ALSO hiding the Gabriel miracle.
If Maggie didn't do the 25 Lazarii miracle, who did? And why? Where the hell did Maggie come from? Why would Jesus 2.0 just show up in the form of a woman who inherited a record shop the happens to be next door to the one being in the whole world who would most want to know where Jesus 2.0 would be?
So much more to know.

Hi, this my first request since I found out about tumblr, and I am glad that you will have my first request!
What about hcs jealousy? Or as an alternative, how about writing about poly relationships? If nothing is clear, then I apologize, English is not my native language.
Male!Reader x Jealous Shenhe, Ei and Mona
A/N: Here you go! I've randomized some characters for this with the help of the almighty Wheel. As for poly relationships, I don't really like them. I'm a little traditional, yeah. Anyways, enjoy!
CW: Male!Reader
Tumblr media
Shenhe
It isn't surprising that Shenhe gets possessive at times. You're her first and only love, so she wishes to protect you from everyone and everything. Yet seeing you with other women gives her a feeling far different from the worry the monsters bring. It sends unpleasant current through her body, urging her to move forward and reclaim your attention for herself. She bottled it in, preferring to instead go ask Ganyu about it first. She isn't the best person to go to for relationship advice, but asking Cloud Retainer would turn a simple question into a three hour long lecture. Ganyu answered to the best of her ability, and told Shenhe to 'ask them about it'. So Shenhe acted.
She sees you and Yelan in Wanmin Restaurant, enjoying some tea and fresh air. It's obvious she dressed to impress this day even for a person such as Shenhe. Her large cleavage is put right in your view, covering just enough to keep it decent. There is also a back window, which your girlfriend doesn't approve of.
“Oh, hello my love. How are you doing?”
Before you can stop her, Shenhe materializes her spear and presses it against Yelan's throat. The woman moves her hands defensively up to the blade, attempting to gently push it away. To no avail, as Shenhe only pushes it back down.
“Who is this woman and what does she want with you?”
“Uh… Shenhe? Calm down, please. We're in public space.”
“Why are you spending time with her instead of me?”
“This is Yelan. You see, we're working together. We had a lunch break, so I thought we'd get a drink.”
“That's a greeting I have never seen before. Nice to finally meet you, Shenhe.” Yelan nudges the spear tip away, and this time Shenhe relents. “Y/N has been talking a lot about you.”
“Hm. I see. Very well.” She nods repeatedly before pointing her weapon at Yelan again. “But don't forget yourself, else I may mistake you for a demon in the future.”
And just like that, Shenhe waddles off. You and Yelan watch as she disappears into the crowds.
“Is she… always like this?”
“Yeah. And that's why I love her.” You say with a smile.
Tumblr media
Raiden Ei
After millennia of relationship, Ei isn't particularly worried about your loyalty. You have been through thick and thin together, so the bond between your bodies and souls is inseparable. Why, in that case, does she feel jealous, maybe even threatened by Miko? There's just this… vibe about her. She flirts with you whenever she can, working hard to make you laugh or even just smile. Ei knows that she wouldn't contest you, but better safe than sorry. It doesn't help that she tends to be overtly serious or dramatic about it.
Miko looks on as you descend the Grand Narukami Shrine. Behind her, Ei does so as well. She approaches Miko after a while.
"You are getting bold, Lady Guuji. Trying to seduce him right before my eyes?" She says, voice low and intimidating.
"Oh. Am I now?" Miko smirks and turns to face her friend.
Ei lifts up her ring finger, showing an ornament made of Electro-infused gold with intricate carvings.
"Do you know what this means? It means he is mine, and mine alone. So don't try my patience, Miko."
Miko snickers as Ei's eyes turn pink.
"Of course, almighty Ogosho. I wouldn't want to displease my divine senior after all."
Annoyance doesn't leave the vessels oculars. Miko's getting a little worried when the cold expression on her face doesn't shift.
"Cool off, Ei. I was merely teasing. No harm done, yes?"
Ei pouts.
"I hope. For your own safety."
Tumblr media
Mona Megistus
"A proud astrologist never gets jealous" is one of the most obvious lies Mona tells you daily. And why does she do that? To clumsily attempt to mask that fact, of course. Whenever you talk with other girls, she makes it her job to keep even a little bit of your attention to herself, by holding your hand or waist. She never openly admits to being jealous, but she does act before thinking quite often.
"F/N L/N, we need to talk."
You look up from your lecture to find Mona standing right before you, hands on her hips.
'Yes?' You ask, closing the book.
"Do have something to say to me?"
Oh boy. Here we go again.
"Can't you just tell me what's this about once?"
"Ugh, fine! But you better be grateful." She crosses her arms on her chest. "That woman from the church you talked to yesterday? What was that about?"
You sigh.
"Mona, listen. We… Oh screw it. Why don't you check what my intentions were in your magic puddle of wisdom, hm?"
She draws the symbol in the air, and the constellations appear. She starts studying it.
"Skin color…? Hmph! What a lame way to pick up a girl."
You stay silent as your girlfriend goes through the reflection. Soon, her face is red from embarrassment.
"And?"
"You really only wanted to ask about her complexion…" She drops the scrygrass and it fades away. Her arms cross again, and she looks down. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I just… Sorry. I… I'm scared you're going to… leave me."
You get up, and put your arms around Mona, whose cheeks are now running with small tears.
"I'm not going to. I wasn't going to leave you then, I'm not going to leave you now and I won't ever leave you. I love you, Mona."
She's shuddering lightly. Her voice comes muffled from your shirt and her soft crying.
"I love you t-too… "

I think there's some really interesting stuff going on with the language used between Mike and El and Mike and Will. Namely: yes's, no's, and not giving or receiving an answer to questions.
I started thinking about this in relation to Mike and El post-reunion in s4, so I'll cover that first, and then go into Mike and El vs Mike and Will throughout the seasons for their big moments.
Tumblr media
Immediately upon reuniting, El is giving Mike a firm no. She doesn't like that he's not hearing her and the importance of what she's saying.
Tumblr media
Mike asks several questions here, even prefacing them with saying that it's an important question. Now obviously he's joking around, but it's so weird that El doesn't answer him once. She is giggling, she is smiling, but she's not giving him an answer and changes the subject instead of giving him a yes.
Tumblr media
Mike gives El a no here: she wants him to do something, try the pizza, and he gives a firm no. He's not willing to try something new with/for her. She then pairs up with Argyle to force him to eat the pizza.
Tumblr media
Mike continues to ask if she can hear him before saying he loves her, but once again she doesn't give him an answer. Obviously she's being choked and is likely not able to easily vocalize a response (if at all). But he knows that she can hear him. Earlier in the scene, she was speaking and answering questions.
Tumblr media
He knows she can hear him, but he's asking anyway. Because he's scared for her safety and wants reassurance that she's okay, but the absolute excess of asking SEVEN times if she can hear him is strange, especially considering that the dialogue could've been written to have Mike ask something else repeatedly that would've made more sense within the context of Mike JUST caring for her safety: "Are you okay? Please answer if you're safe. What's going on? Can we help you?" All good options that would've made just as much sense as him asking if she can HEAR HIM repeatedly. Which of course calls back to the s3 "I love her" where El was out of the room, but did hear him and only let him know she'd heard him 3 months later, at which point Mike faked that he had forgotten and was uncomfortable at the idea of saying it again.
Tumblr media
Later on in this scene, we see Mike and Will once more, and I don't see these scenes talked about often. This is after Max has died, after the gates open, before El saves Max.
Tumblr media
El can wake up, she could answer him, but she's deciding not to as she's grieving Max, and decides that she's going to do what she can to try to save Max. Mike is again speaking and asking for a response but not getting one. Not blaming El here at all, but this is the third time we've seen this in one episode. It's a theme. El doesn't want to engage Mike in what he has to say or ask.
Tumblr media
The next line of dialogue after Mike says "Wake up" is El saying "No." El is saying this to Max, but it is interesting, again, how we get another no from El almost responding to Mike here. He can't tell her what to do, he can't tell her to move on, he can't make her decisions for her. This is also paired with El saying "you're not going" to Max, which also pairs nicely with the flashback we see of Max saying that they make their own rules.
And El speaks here, in this space of spying, and I'm not sure the details of how El can project her voice to actually speaking from her physical body vs keeping her voice in the spying plane, but the assumption is that she's not speaking out loud, this is a private moment where El decides to speak.
I just think it's so interesting how often in these few short scenes of dialogue between the two, there's no yes's, there's no verbal agreement, they're not on the same page. El is actively ignoring Mike's questions and is shown to not answer him repeatedly even though she can hear him. And of course, they don't exchange any dialogue at all in the epilogue.
And so I went on to look at some of the bigger scenes and moments between El and Mike, and Will and Mike, to see how often we get yes's, no's, or if we don't get a response at all. And it's interesting. Coming soon!!!
El and Mike, post reunion in s4, El and Mike, s1-2, El and Mike, s3-s4, Will and Mike

Can I ask for kiibo,Miu, kokichi having a crush on the ultimate robotics engineers who has a androids assistant following them around 24/7.
And could you also make the androids to be someone who's always showing positive energy ( and maybe a little bit clingy to the reader) you can choose the androids gender.
I hope I didn't ask too much, thank you!!
Why does this sound so cute-
Kiibo, Miu and Kokichi with an Ultimate Robotics Engineer Reader
K1-B0/Kiibo
Tumblr media
He finds you very fascinating
It’s interesting to know someone else besides Professor Idabashi who specializes in robotics
He tried to befriend you rather quickly
He was that interested in what you were all about
What also interested him was your little android companion
They followed you everywhere you went, keeping track of your schoolwork, giving you advice, and just being a supportive friend to you
They liked to spectate and help you with your projects, and they loved giving you hugs and being affectionate with you
Kiibo couldn’t help but be jealous at how close they were to you, even after you became friends
It didn’t help that your android companion was also very protective of you and didn’t like him being near you
They basically became rivals just like that
Even when you started a relationship with him, the android still wasn’t too fond of him
But they backed off of him, per your request, and they’ll come to respect each other in time
Anyway, Kiibo admires you, and your talent as well
Your android assistant was questionable, but dw, they’re not gonna hate each other forever
Miu Iruma
Tumblr media
You think you’re better than her??
She approached you because she was curious about your talent, but she never forgot to mention that she was the superior inventor here
You specialize in robotics, it’s not a competition
But you let her have her fun
She liked to poke fun at your android assistant, laughing about you “fucking them” every time they spoke to you
She says like she didn’t have a thing for Kiibo in the game
“Hah! What, is that your girlfriend/boyfriend/partner? Were you so desperate that you made your own little fucktoy or something?”
Point that out, and she’ll get flustered and walk away
They’ve also gotten into several arguments because the android wasn’t too fond of her rudeness
She also volunteered to help you on your projects before they could, so they basically started fighting for your attention as well
Soon, Miu got feelings for you and made sure to confess in front of your assistant
She pulled you into a kiss and stared them in the face while they were watching from afar
The android wasn’t too happy about that, but begrudgingly agreed to support your relationship
That doesn’t mean they have to like her, though
Anyway, Miu might tease you a lot, but she loves you and your talent
Kokichi Oma
Tumblr media
He’s very curious about your talent
When you first met, he asked you to look into Kiibo’s programming
You refused, and he pouted and complained that you were no fun
He decided that you were cool and decided to bother you
He repeatedly asked you to design evil robots for his organization, to dismantle Kiibo, and a number of strange requests no, not like that
Of course, you turned all of them down
Like Miu, he also teased you about your assistant
“Ooooh, are you guys dating??”
Yeah, they’re not a fan of him
When he confesses his feelings to you, they do not approve
Not only is he annoying, but he’s a lying piece of shit
Kokichi doesn’t really mind that they hate him, but he did start acting all nice towards them as if he hadn’t made fun of them three days ago
It’s gonna take a while for them to warm up to him
Anyway, he might be a little shit, but he’s your little shit
He loves bragging about how awesome you are, especially in front of Miu
But he actually means everything he says about you
You’re amazing to him, regardless of his little jokes

Episode 34 - Heads for no Tails (part 2)
TW: child neglect & parentification discussions, hardcore to the mega level compared to the usual. I don't know if this warrants a warning, but yeah.
Tumblr media
He is never beating those second tea straw drinker from the ova allegations.
Obligatory Pointing Out Food Moment not pictured, because I am already flying close to the sun with the image limit: Cereal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His second fear after "not being able to eat without help" is not being able to fish, and that scares him more. He is so real for that.
In this situation, my first concern would be no longer being able to do gaming, personally.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is so "single mom with an undiagnosed anxiety disorder" coded that it makes me want to do unspeakable evils upon him.
Joris's ass is NOT being calmed or soothed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I guess he managed to get afterwards anyway, even after Indie bribed that one wizard.
Tumblr media
Guy who likes to learn about french culture: [Nodding] oh so you can drink coffee at night both from a bowl and from a cup.
Tumblr media
Finally he understands just how bad things are. And it breaks him.
Tumblr media
I think, one of the most infuriating things one can experience as a child, is being in a bad situation while everyone else is pretending that you aren't.
It's obvious that adults are pretending, but it feels less like they do it to keep you calm, and more like they're trying to keep themselves calm, by denying what is happening to you.
Tumblr media
And that's sad. He probably feels like, despite being the one in danger, he must pretend not to be scared, so that the adults in his life don't completely fall apart on him. Not only is he in mortal fucking danger, he has to be their Emotional Support Joris.
Joris must be... fed up with this. Just a little bit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite how bad things are, he's comforted by this.
But then Kerubim ruins it, by forgetting how things are, for a second.
Tumblr media
And instead of, y'know, bending down to hug him, he awkwardly leaves him hugless after, yet again, denying the gravity of the situation, and jokingly blaming Joris.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This episode is madness inducing to me in all the following moments. The way Joris's expression shifts immediately after Kerubim leaves? He's not stupid. He knows things are bad. He knows Kerubim knows, and that he's just pretending. And obviously... that's a bit annoying.
The fact that the one person he can talk to about this is his pet is even more heartbreaking to me.
Tumblr media
BEST moment of the series. If Kerubim says stuff like that more often, I'll be kissing him and swooning and stuff.
I already pointed this out previously, but the inn he received the restraint in, is in Astrub, and has been shown before. I won't add a screenshot due to the image limit, and some heavy stuff coming in, but now you know that.
Also, he's drinking bamboo milk in said inn. Very committed to that milk alcoholism, he.
Tumblr media
While Kerubim left him, Joris doesn't seem to have made even an attempt at sleeping. He's just been... staring at the ceiling. God.
Tumblr media
I will be insane here, for a second, and ask a question: Do you all think that Joris is genuinely happy to see him, hoping that he's brought good news, or is Joris putting on a brave face? Because personally, I like both interpretations.
It was an awfully quick switch between "staring lifelessly at the ceiling" and "hiiiii papycha :))))" which is why I had this thought.
Tumblr media
From one extreme to another... While denying that something bad is happening was a bad move, I think it could have been more beneficial to ease him into it with a "this is bad, but we'll keep trying to free you."
Then again. I suppose Kerubim would feel guilty, if he thought he was giving Joris more false hopes after acting irrationally cheery all day.
Tumblr media
There's something very specifically tragic about this, because protecting Joris has always been his mission, even if he has failed at it repeatedly. Let me remind you:
Tumblr media
Kerubim is an orphan. Empathising and seeing himself in little, helpless, parentless things is kind of his thing. And so is wanting to protect them.
Tumblr media
Besides projection, and knowing how bad this could turn out from personal experience, I think Kerubim adopted Joris due to guilt.
Tumblr media
We know that, for ten years, he was under the impression that he killed Julith. Even if he thought Julith was going to destroy Bonta — being an orphan himself made this memory something very personal, and very haunting: He was now guilty of doing the exact thing that ruined his and Atcham's early life to a newborn baby. He held him in his arms, either shortly before, or immediately after, killing his mother.
Obviously, he would want to shelter him. To somehow make up for the harm he did.
Tumblr media
Besides that, Atcham has been put forth as a foil for Joris, and a sort of reflection for his relationship with Kerubim.
Joris is weird looking, so is Atcham, but Joris tries really hard not to feel like it's a flaw. It would make sense for Kerubim to have tried to change himself and cultivate a very accepting environment, to protect Joris from whatever Atcham went through.
It was always about protecting Joris to him.
Tumblr media
He probably knows he's been bad at it, even if he won't say that out loud.
He's just human, parenting is hard, and he had a sad, sad life. Even if it made things worse for the two of them, and even if I make fun of him a lot in these blogs, it's realistic and tragic. Being bad at this, and sometimes just utterly failing Joris, doesn't make him a bad person. That's just how life is.
...And considering the way Kerubim and Atcham themselves turned out in an orphanage, — chances are, Joris was still better off growing up like this, than growing up without a home at all.
Tumblr media
So how sad it is, that not only has he seemingly failed as a parent, but also, failed at the exact thing he became a parent for?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think it's just as tragic that all Joris can manage, despite being the one whose life Kerubim essentially ruined by his negligence, is to push down whatever he is feeling, and be the brave one to try and comfort him.
...It's probably the first time he's seen Kerubim this openly distraught. Obviously, he'd want to comfort him.
Tumblr media
All of this to say: I love them, and their uneven, realistically mentally ill single parent-single child bond. And if something profoundly bad happens to them in Wakfu season 4, I will kill everyone in this room, and then myself. (I say this, despite them being alive and well in Waven. Which happens after season 4. I'm insane.)

Okay I 'm that one anon who prefaced that I wasn't attacking and I mention that because I didn't know how to re-identify myself
Anyway I agree without you on how poorly they handled Ironwood's downfall but what else you said continues to baffle me as a writer and as one whose trying to grow and trying to incorporate more characters how would you suggest going about topics of emotionally "throwing away ones humanity" if said character has prosthetics?
Like...and understand I'm trying to figure out how to word this. If you were to take...let's keep rolling with James. As he was before the absolutely asinine commentary on what him sacrificing his arm meant. If his prosthetics are just that and not meant to symbolize anything. Can you talk about him or any character or original creation under the idea of what they could be doing to themselves emotionally or mentally?
I'm really trying to find where to go cause it just seems that with disabled characters writing certain things for them is heavily limited as to what can be done because certain attempts at things could be labeled as ableism when that wasn't the intention either in an a stumble at the execution of an idea or because the audience (and I'm not saying this is Rooster Teeth cause holy shit is it not them) took something about what was being done and applied it to an aspect of the character that the creator wasn't even looking at.
On that note what they did in general with Penny and whatnot was odd but what would you do about a character that if they had the choice didn't want a disability? This is a more of an out of somewhere questions cause typing this I always think of the Spirit Fairer discourse where there was apparently a character who had a wheelchair and I guess at someone point didn't have it anymore and was happy about that. But people got so mad that the developers rewrote the story so the character remaind wheelchaired bound, but that just makes me ask is it wrong for a character to want to be able to not have a wheelchair? Like is it wrong to write a story where a character wants to be able to walk? Like how would you go about having a character having a disability and not wanting their disability anymore?
Honestly anon as I said before I just….wouldn’t. To put it another way, what does having someone throw away their humanity add to the story? Why do you feel like you need it? And why does it need to be the disabled person? All people have humanity because they’re human. Trying to have someone throw away their humanity is…dangerous territory because more often then not those stories tend to rely heavily on either disabilities or mental illness to “justify” that and for obvious reasons that is extremely ableist. And even without using either of those things it still can be interpreted by audiences to be the disability or mental illness’s fault and what made them lose their humanity. It’s…far too tricky a subject for me to think ever is worth it to be in a story.
If you’re asking how to make a disabled character evil that’s entirely different because evil people can still have their humanity because they’re human. They just happen to be an evil person who does bad things. Making Ironwood evil isn’t inherently a bad thing, but CR/WBY saying that losing his arm is a symbol of his lost humanity is. Then repeatedly having the villains be disabled is a problem. It’s important to ask “why does the disabled character have to be evil” when making them a villain because so often disabilities are used a short hand for villainous traits which is ableist and harmful and tells disabled audiences that their disabilities are seen as villainous.
It is generally the job of the author to really think about these things and the tropes that they are relying on for their story. As a society so many people view more metal = less human which just isn’t true and is actively harmful towards disabled people. Do you remember at all the Mars Rover Opportunity? How emotional people got when her last words came out “My battery is low and it's getting dark”. My friend from my discord group put it perfectly: Oppy is all metal but she’s human. She wasn’t born, she was created but she was alive. We loved her to humanity. People mourned when she passed. NASA played a love song for her. Her being metal didn’t matter, just as James being half metal shouldn’t matter, just as anyone having prosthetics shouldn’t matter. They are still humans with humanity, and I just don’t see any reason to write a story about someone willingly throwing away their humanity.
So Ironwood "wanting" to throw away his humanity and becoming more monstrous is ableist. Doing this to any disabled character is ableist because their disability will inherently be used as a shorthand for said monstrousness either by the author or audience.
Here are a few good videos that discuss the topic further and really discuss the issues with disabled villains:
youtube
youtube
Some great points the video discusses:
A lot of villains motivation is being "cured" of their disability which stems from this idea that disabled people are miserable and hate being disabled and can only be whole and happy if they are cured. Yes some people would like to have a curse for their disabilities, not everyone wants that and having most villains want that is a problem as it stems from the idea that being disabled is inherently tied to misery and suffering which just isn't true.
It also makes the point about how oftentimes disabilities are used as a visual shorthand for inhumanity in their villains and them merely being disabled and looking "other" is a clue to the audience that said person is evil and even inhuman in far too many cases. We repeatedly see this in RW/BY with Tyrians tail, Cinders Grimm arm, Salem, and James's new prosthetic. All are framed as evil and monstrous to show us how evil they are.
At the end of the day, I think it is crucial to talk to someone who has the disability you want to represent in your work about how you are portraying them. I cannot and do not speak for all disabled people in this discussion and can only really discuss my feelings/the feelings of those I have talked with. When writing disabled characters it is critical to include people with those disabilities in the discussion of how the characters story should go.

In the past few weeks you've spent with Sadie, she had told you repeatedly that you wouldn't truly learn unless you've seen action, and each time she brought it up, you easily dismissed the notion, thinking it might have just been her own version of tough love. You've never given it much thought, really—until now.
You found yourself a couple of miles away from Shady Belle, taking cover behind a boulder, its rough texture pressing against your fingers. The midday sun blazed overhead as Sadie cautiously surveyed the clearing ahead. She informed you casually that there may be about a dozen or more Lemoyne Raiders that had set up a camp there.
You fumbled with your Colt revolver, your hands slightly trembling with apprehension. "I've never shot anyone, Sadie," you muttered as you tried to wrap your head around the reality of the situation. "I've never killed anyone. I don't think I ever can!"
You have desperately tried to explain to her that target practice and taking down the occasional deer were already more than enough, considering before all these, the mere recoil of a gun would send you staggering backward. Now that you could manage to hit a bottle or two out of five in a row, you'd like to believe your lessons were already over, and she had taught you everything you could possibly learn.
Today, however, Sadie had a point to make – as far as she was concerned, lessons weren't over yet.
"Listen, darlin'," Sadie said reassuringly, "I get that this ain't what you signed up for, but sometimes, life deals us a hand we never expected. We ain't lookin' for trouble, but if it comes our way, we need to be ready."
You stole a glance at your Colt, its metal glinting brightly in the sun. You felt your heart pounding relentlessly. The thought of aiming your weapon at another human being sent shivers down your spine, but then you firmly reminded yourself why you were here in the first place.
The only reason why you asked for this crazy woman's help was so you could stop feeling sorry for yourself. You've been so weak and helpless all this time. Perhaps knowing how to fight back could've made all the difference that day your father was killed, or when the Braithwaites took Jack or even the last time you went face to face with your father's murderer.
"You're gonna be just fine. I got your back," she said, gently placing a hand on your shoulder. Her eyes remained fixed on the makeshift tents ahead.
Drawing in a shaky breath, you whispered more to yourself than anyone else, "Alright. Fuck. FUCK. Let's do this."
Sadie's plan was straightforward (at least to her, anyway). Given the odds you faced, your best bet would be to approach the camp quietly. Sadie would take the offensive, eliminating any stragglers on the outskirts, as you provided cover. As you get closer, you were to stay low, keep an eye out for any Raiders, and keep covering fire as she maneuvered.
"You see any one of 'em, you point and shoot," Sadie instructed. There was no room for hesitation. She reminded you – just aim, shoot, and keep her alive.
As the two of you braced yourself for the attack, you heard the bushes behind you rustle, causing your heart to leap into your throat. You swivelled around, Colt at the ready.
"Woah, woah, woah, easy there, partner!" Javier whispered. You've shot him once accidentally, and he had no intention whatsoever of going through that again. Arthur was with him. The pair approached you and Sadie, and now, all four of you were huddled together in a rather humorous display of caution.
Arthur leaned in, whispering just loud enough for the group, "We were out fishing and saw you ladies headin' this way. Armed like that, sure didn't seem like a goddamned Sunday picnic you were planning on." Arthur said.
"So what's the plan?" Javier chimed in enthusiastically, rubbing his hands together.
Sadie shook her head at the audacity but instantly realised that a significant advantage had just presented itself. She leaned in closer to you, "Seems like we've got ourselves an impromptu raiding party, darlin'. The more, the merrier, I s'pose. I don't want you getting killed on your first rodeo, and with these two around, we'll have some extra insurance."
She looked at your faces and decisively directed, "Javier, you're with me. Arthur, you're with [Y/N]."
With that settled, you and Arthur swiftly moved to a huge tree, giving you a vantage point over the Lemoyne Raiders' camp. The heat was stifling, but the intensity of the upcoming confrontation made the air feel even heavier. The tree was a little further from the action, but it provided enough cover for both of you.
Arthur readied his revolvers. Every so often, his gaze flitted to you, but you purposely averted your eyes. You clutched your weapon tighter, your palms slick with sweat.
"What? We still ain't talking?"
Taking a moment, you replied, "Just make sure I don't end up dead, Mr. Morgan, and we can call it even."
A faint smirk played on his lips, but his eyes remained serious. "Don't you worry none, I ain't gonna let that happen," he whispered, his voice steady. You found his seemingly calm demeanour, like he'd been through this dance a million times before, both comforting and slightly disconcerting.
Sadie made the first move, expertly dispatching two unsuspecting Raiders who had ventured dangerously close to her spot (most probably to take a piss). Gunshots broke immediately after, the acrid scent of the gunpowder filling the air. That was your signal. Arthur and Javier followed suit, making every bullet count as they maneuvered through the Raiders' camp.
For you, however, time seemed to stand still as the sounds of the battle overwhelmed you – the pop and crack of firearms and the desperate cries of each Raider they've successfully taken down. 'Move! Damn it, move! Just point and shoot, that's all!' But no matter how much you berated yourself, your feet remained rooted to the ground.
Arthur was already a few paces ahead. He turned around to check if you were right behind him. His eyes widened with concern when he noticed you weren't advancing.
"Move, [Y/N], now!" he urged you in desperation, momentarily letting his guard down.
Then you saw it. As your partner grew increasingly distracted by your inaction, he had failed to notice a Raider creeping up, his weapon raised. He had Arthur dead to rights. Without thinking, instincts taking over, you aimed your Colt and fired – pop! Pop! The bullets hit the Raider just as he was about to pull the trigger on Arthur. The man fell, a surprised expression on his face as he crumpled to the ground.
Arthur looked at you, stunned. "Nice shot!" He called out, a sense of relief and admiration in his voice. "Now get over here!"
The fight continued around you, and there was no time to dwell on the life you had just taken. With each subsequent shot and move you made, you found your rhythm, your reactions sharpening as the minutes passed. Arthur, meanwhile, never strayed too far from your side. He fought fiercely, but every so often, his eyes would search for you amidst the chaos, making sure you were safe.
The hideout was slowly cleared, and as the last Raider fell, a tense silence settled over your surroundings. You looked at your companions. Their faces were smeared with dirt and sweat, a few scratches and bruises here and there, but alive, nonetheless.
Sadie clapped you on the back, "You did good out there."
As you prepared for the journey home, the adrenaline from the fight began to ebb away, and you felt a sharp, persistent pain on the side of your abdomen. You had dismissed it at first, but the pain and discomfort only grew more pronounced.
"Hey, you alright?" Javier asked, noticing the discomfort you were in. Reluctantly, you lifted your shirt, revealing its source. Your face drained of colour as you saw the dark stain on the clothing, the vivid red of fresh blood.
Sadie's eyes widened with alarm, and Arthur was quick to approach. "Dammit." He muttered under his breath.
"It looks like it just grazed you," Sadie observed – she was right. The wound appeared to be superficial, most likely a bullet grazing your side rather than penetrating deeply – a stroke of luck, you thought, realising that should you have stood inches away from your spot earlier, you would've been pretty much dead by now.
Still, you knew that even seemingly minor wounds could turn serious if left untreated. With trembling hands, you pressed a cloth against the wound, applying gentle pressure to slow the bleeding. The pain was sharp.
Javier watched with concern. "You're gonna be alright," he assured you. "It's not too bad. We need to get you home and patch you up."
*
Back at the camp, the four of you made quite the sight. With your arm draped over Javier's shoulders for support, you leaned heavily on him while Sadie took the lead, guiding your unsteady steps toward your tent. Arthur followed close from behind. The commotion drew the attention of several gang members, who watched in curious concern. Dutch and Hosea stood from their seats on the veranda, their eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"It's fine. I can do this." You tried to convince them. But they were having none of it.
Sadie gave you a stern look, her eyes unyielding. "You ain't in any condition to be actin' tough," she stated matter-of-factly.
Javier gently cut you off. "Stop being stubborn." He helped you inside, carefully setting you down on the bedroll. The dim interior was a stark contrast to the dying light outside. His eyes constantly darted from your face to the injury on your side. You began to instruct him, but your voice came out weaker than you had anticipated.
"Javier... get my bag," you whispered, grimacing from the pain.
He quickly did as he was told. As he started cleaning the wound, he looked up, his dark eyes searching yours for assurance. He tried to be gentle, but his uncertainty was evident.
"Easy there," you whispered, wincing slightly when he accidentally pressed a bit too close to the wound.
Javier's eyes widened in alarm. "Lo siento," he whispered apologetically. "I'm trying to be careful, but..."
"It's okay. Just listen, and I'll tell you what to do." Despite the pain, you gave him a small, reassuring smile.
Outside the tent, you could hear the faint murmurs of Sadie and Arthur's conversation, occasionally glancing inside to see how you were doing.
"Ain't' too bad for your first time, huh." Arthur quipped, peeking into the tent and handing you a flask of whiskey. You took a swig, the fiery liquid providing temporarily relief as it dulled the biting sting of your injury. You exhaled deeply, savouring the brief reprieve as Javier diligently tended to your wound.
"What the hell happened?!" John's voice was agitated, jolting you from your moment of respite, as he pushed past Arthur and Sadie to get a look at you. His eyes locked onto the wound, then Javier's hands, covered in your blood. His face contorted in anger and worry, and his eyes met yours for a brief moment. but it felt more like an eternity.
You did tell him last night you’d talk today, but you purposefully went out with Sadie (although at that point, you were oblivious to what she had planned all along) using it as a convenient excuse to avoid him.
"We got her, John," Arthur assured him, indicating that now might not be the best time for too many questions.

"They are at home, right? Smoking cigarettes."
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "What? That's just -- my daughters are perfectly *fine*. They're with their friends down in Jamrock! There's *nothing* to worry about."
EMPATHY [Challenging: Success] - She's getting upset. Her voice has risen, as she tries to convince herself that her daughters are safe.
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "They're almost grown up now anyway. They're past the age they need me protecting them from everything now."
"I'm afraid the danger is now greater than ever. Tell me, how old are they?"
"Maybe you're right. Maybe they aren't missing after all. Tell me something else..."
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "My youngest girl, Jolie, is just shy of sixteen. Jennie, she is turning eighteen next month. But we shouldn't even be talking about them!"
"And can you describe me their appearance? Any features that stand out, something to make identifying a little easier?"
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "Why do you need to know this? Haven't I repeatedly told you that they are not missing? That they're in Jamrock, safe and well, at some stupid party."
"It's for the investigation. I'm trying to be professional."
"You're right, let's not talk about your daughters. I don't know what got into me."
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "There is no *investigation* here, I can tell you that!" She picks up a book and tries to concentrate. A flock of seabirds passes by.
3. "Maybe your *cockatoo* is missing?"
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "I don't mean to disrespect, sir, but *you* are being a bit of a cockatoo here."
KIM KITSURAGI - "For what it's worth -- I agree. But cockatoos can't be stopped when they get like this. It's better to indulge him at this point."
"Ma'am, I was asking about your cockatoo. Is it missing?"
"What do you mean I'm being a cockatoo?"
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "I don't even have a cockatoo. And guess what?"
"What?"
"Alright, cockatoo not missing. I just wanted to make sure."
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "Even if I had, it wouldn't be missing."
"Alright, cockatoo not missing. I just wanted to make sure."
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "Great." She turns her attention back to the bookstand.
"Just one more question: what did you mean by me being a cockatoo?"
"Great. Got it."
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "Nothing. Go read up on them if you're so interested. There's a great book in the bookstore."
INLAND EMPIRE [Easy: Success] - Maybe you should... What if the cockatoo is your *astral captain*? Or your *heraldic bird*?
"Actually, that's exactly what I'm going to do, thanks for the tip." (Get task.)
"You're being sarcastic. Let's talk about something else." (Move on.)
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "Wonderful. The store is open."
New task: Find your heraldic bird
5. "That's all for the moment. I'll let you read." [Leave.]
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - The woman before you nods and returns to her reading.

Jamais vu. The opposite of déjà vu. Not *already* seen, but *never* seen. Everything that should be familiar appears strange and new. Like some half-forgotten day in your childhood, only *now*. That's the feeling you've been having. And for who knows how long? You should go and ask Joyce Messier about this -- what world are we in? This is the fundamental question.
Before moving on, let's check in with Annette.
Tumblr media
ANNETTE - "Hello again, sir!" You see Annette sipping on her hot juice. She looks at you with shy amusement.
6. "Who is that?" (Point to the woman browsing books.)
ANNETTE - "Oh, that's auntie Billie. She's nice, if a bit distressed."
"She's your aunt?"
"Why is she distressed?"
ANNETTE - "No-no, sir. She's a working woman who comes to look at the books a lot."
"Why is she distressed?"
ANNETTE - "I think she has a bad husband. Not very nice or helpful."
8. "Okay, bye. See you around, Annette." [Leave.]
Hm.
Tumblr media
"This little girl over there told me you have a bad husband."
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "Excuse me, a *bad husband?*" Her back straightens. "What do you mean?"
"Not a nice and helpful sort."
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "Do *police men* just go around repeating what some kid off the street said?"
EMPATHY [Medium: Success] - She doesn't mean to be antagonistic, but she can't help coming off defensive.
"Those were her words, not mine. I'm merely asking."
"She isn't just some 'kid off the street'. She seems very mature for her age."
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "Is she now?" She dries her hands in the apron underneath her coat. Her eyes narrow.
"Annette's a sweet sprout, but she doesn't know anything about marriage. Why am I even talking about this..."
"So you don't have a bad husband?"
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "No, I don't. I have a good husband, the kind and helpful sort. And he's *not* missing."
EMPATHY [Medium: Success] - He's totally missing.
That brings us back to a conversation branch we've already seen, so...
3. "Okay, thanks."
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - "Mhm. You're welcome." She reverts her attention back to the book stand.
5. "That's all for the moment. I'll let you read." [Leave.]
WORKING CLASS WOMAN - The woman before you nods and returns to her reading.

Sho lover anon back from yesterday LMAOOO but I just finished the jabberwock story and IT WAS SO GOOD AAA I LOVED IT SO MUCH
I freaking love the jabberwock boys so much. Ren honestly reminds me of Midori Takamine from ensemble stars a bit. But the story was very good (and my precious calamari😭)
I got a few chats from kaito and sho, and it makes me so sad to see how much kaito kind of downplays himself so much😭 like my poor boy honestly. And sho was over here asking me to look at the sign for his food truck.
Anyway besides all of that, at like the second to last chapter of jabberwock (I think?) Hyde says something about how much these missions kind of affect the ghouls moral conscience. How do you think this might feel for some of them? I remember kaito talking about wanting to be a normal person (I think either in the prologue or episode 1, I’m not quiet sure) I feel like it might’ve been hard for some of the ghouls who wanted to live normal lives but made a deal with a demon in exchange for something precious, and now being looked as like some hero who’s supposed to protect human kind, and some of them even question why they have to put their lives on the line for such things too (Leo, Ren, and I think Kaito as well?) What are your thoughts on that?
Calamari, Peekaboo, the Capybara bus... Jabberwock best dorm no one else can compete (Taiga when I catch you for stealing the baby when I catch you).
We don't really know how making a pact with a demon works, which sounds a bit silly to say but I think it is important to think about. Did the ghouls seek out their demons? Did the demons finds them? Were they fully aware of what they were doing the whole time or did they get tricked in a way similar to how Slender was using those kids in the first Case? How long have the boys been Ghouls? Do they get immediately taken to Darkwick or an affiliated school/location once being discovered as a ghoul? I feel like we might learn more about that once we get Hotarubi's case, as Haku and Subaru seem to have some very strong feelings about being ghouls and their place at the school. But to answer your actual question, Hyde seems very aware that a lot is being asked of the ghouls. Fighting monsters is a lot to ask of anyone, add in the pressure of the school's prophecy that no one really believes in, the fact that you got your powers from a demon so everyone thinks you are a heartless bastard anyway and yeah I would say that would make you start to question some things. Kaito says he "never asked for any of this" at several points in the prologue and book one, Sho repeatedly points out that the deals the ghouls made are likely very sensitive topics people would want to keep private, a chat between Tohma and Rui where Tohma takes a shot at him for having his whereabouts closely monitored by the school, and Haku's entire conversation in Book One with the MC the second time they try to escape about how little freedom the ghouls have doesn't really paint a happy picture of what life for a ghoul is like. All of which are things I think Hyde is trying to point out in his conversation with MC as the end of Book 3, he wants a world where humans and anomalies can live together happily after all, and that includes ghouls.
I find it interesting how Leo uses the word "pact" while Chancellor Cornelius uses the word "wish." To me, a "pact" implies a level of seeking out the demon knowing full well what you were getting in to where as the word "wish" leaves more room for plausible deniability. To avoid giving specific spoilers for Amnesia (the otome) there is a theme that repeats throughout of gods granting human wishes without thought of the human consequences, Ikki and Kent both make wishes that aren't fully realized thoughts but are granted almost to the letter to disastrous consequence. It's a scenario I can see happening with Kaito, where he wished for something and accidentally did so with a demon and now has to live as a ghoul because of that. I could see it really messing with your mind if you really were just some guy who had no business being involved with anything supernatural and now you're being asked to fight horror monsters almost daily. Makes you wonder what the end game for a ghoul is, are they allowed to live normal lives after they graduate? Or are they forever bound to the organization that runs Darkwick. And perhaps more importantly, what happens if you don't cooperate with them...

didnt want to be extra annoying and ask this on your art blog so ill settle for just being annoying.. was anything in wac inspired by the life series? like designs or well, anything! discovered ur stuff on youtube and went ooooh and then snooped through all the art i could find and was repeatedly reminded of the sillies that occupy my brain. sorry 2 be weird! ik its the worst question to be asked sorry but its hurting my brain wondering and not knowing
Aw shit ya caught me. I was gonna reveal this fact much later down the line bc ive been kinda open that WAC started out as an AU just not for what. Primarily the reason for secrecy is bc i don't want people to look at this story i put a lot of myself and my experience into and go "I can't believe you tricked me into reading about minecraft men" bc the story has expanded a lot past these intial inspirations.
So before i go into all the inspirations, I wanna make this perfectly clear. WAC's plot is almost completely original, baring some small scenes inspired by events in the Life series and the basic set up. It's a three act story that is mostly about me and my partners problems regarding abuse and personhood. The Life Series au was a starting point and it kinda spiraled out from that lollll.
(Also I saw your other ask and it doesn't bother me at all! Its been something ive wanted to talk about anyway simply bc i find the inspirations funny. Plus I promised myself if someone realized and asked I would talk about it. Also i just love talking about inspiration and seeing how you got from one thing to the next, maybe others would like the same.)
1. "Why are they cats?" This started as an au once again but i felt too embarrassed talking about it publicly as a mcyt au so I gave them cat designs. That's the only reason lol
Lain - Inspired primarily by 3rd life and lim life martyn in regards to both his devotion to the king (ren) and mariner (scott). Lain and Mariner originally started as Majorwood shipping cats but then became more about their unhealthy power dynamics and two people being stuck together it spiraled into what we have now! Especially since I believe Martyn killed Jimmy (Canary) in 3rd life? Or at least scott accuses him as such so that's where that came from.
Mariner - 3rd/lim life scott! His obsession with the sea, his name, his relationship to Canary, his ties to Lain, and his design is pulled from scott. That's about all that's similar now though. His personality is completely different. Hes a shitty fuckinh dude.
Canary - 3rd life Jimmy Solidarity but like fucking barely and just bc hes married to mariner (flower husbands). Took his name from the fandom calling him a canary because he always dies first and that's basically it. Also worked with the bird name theme i was starting to go with
The King - 3rd life ren but again fucking BARELY except for his relationship with Lain and being a king and trying to conquer shit. That's like. It.
Condor - he's just mr good times with scar. Hes like, the closest to his mcyt counterpart probably and im not even sorry. Took primarily from 3rd life and lim life once again though in regards to his relationship with Crane (Cleo), Warbler (bdubs), and Scout (Etho) (and also the fact the group is called the flock is a cheeky callback to the family being called the clockers)
Crane - stated above, Cleo, but only bc shes mom in the clockers family. Nothing else.
Warbler - limlife bdubs but again fucking BARELY. I think the bdubs skin is the most i drew on for her design with the fucked up eye and teeth.
Grouse - mr 3rd life grian. Dating condor because desert duo and feeling indebted to him for that as well. And just. Generally little guy vibes.
Scout - etho. Just for chill vibes. Dating Crabe because hes "dad" in lim life and dating Wolf (Joel) bc of double life halfslab.
Wolf - Primarily last life joel with the living alone in the woods thing and joel just being a like. Maniac in the life series with the murders and such. Dating scout again bc of double life. The her having canary's skull thing is just for my friend who is a big fucked up smallidarity shipper.
Sycamore, coal, and aster are original characters i made specifically for the story.
I would again like to state that the story is BARELY tied to things that happen in the life series, and its mostly my personal experiences and silly thoughts. The silly minecraft men were just the jumping off point and all of their arcs are original so there ya go <3

Invading your ask box!
I suck at coming up with questions, so in light of manifesting season 7, what are your hopes for when we hopefully get a full season 7?
Go as wild and unrealistic as you want!
So here's the thing... it took me so long to get around to answering this that I've already seen everyone else's answers and I feel like mine is just gonna be some version of the same list. But I'm still gonna answer anyway.
Next steps for chenford, whether that's moving in together or proposal (or both). These two have been all in since day 1. While I think those things happening this season feels a little rushed, season 7 feels like a good timeline. Season 5 was the honeymoon phase. Season 6 is about growing together and learning how to communicate and navigate difficulty. Season 7 seems like a good time to be on solid footing and take those next steps.
Next steps for Lucy, professionally. Personally, I'm hoping the UC storyline will play out this season and she can move on to whatever is next for her in season 7. She would be good at so many things within the LAPD and it would be so great to see her explore her options and find her niche. Bonus points if Primm faces consequences for being a dick.
More of a support system for Lucy, and just more interaction overall between the characters. Don't get me wrong, obviously I'm excited for all the chenford scenes we get, but give me some Tim x Angela and Lucy x Angela x Nyla or Lucy x Aaron or whatever else. We need to flesh out more of those relationships between the characters rather than pairing the same people up repeatedly. I know there's only so much screentime and they have a big cast, but it would be nice to have a few eps where they shake things up a bit.
Aaron and Celina remaining friends. I just really love their friendship and don't want it to turn romantic. It's nice to have that male x female friendship represented, and it's also frankly unrealistic to have every character coupled up.
More of Tim and Lucy away from the job, with Genny, Kojo, and/or Tamara.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but please no more pregnancies. It's been done three times now, and all of them have been accidental. And as someone who is childless by choice, lets have some representation of that on screen as well. Nolan and Bailey should not have kids, and I hope that's the conclusion they come to in 6x06.
Speaking of Nolan, can we please see him face some actual consequences? He's a terrible TO and that needs to be acknowledged, and Celina needs some actual training.
And honestly, just more of what they've been doing this season. I feel like, so far, this is the most cohesive season we've had in a while. Storylines are actually carried from one episode to another and the stakes are higher, the angst is productive, and I'm just really enjoying it! It's always nice to have some humor thrown in, but I also like when they show the fallout and keep the intensity rather than passing things off as a joke.
And lastly, more of this wonderful fandom here on tumblr! The questions, the positivity, the support, the incoherent rambling in the tags, the fic, the gifs, all the other amazing art and episode analyses. Just... all of it!
I'm sure there's more and I definitely failed at being wild and unrealistic but I'm sleepy and this is all my brain can think of right now.
Thank you for the question :)

(spoilers)
For some reason, Jon saying how "resistless" Dracula is, how Dracula says oh so politely I'll take no refusal, reminds me of Mina.
Mina will send a telegraph to Van helsing about him coming to breakfast in more of a demand than a request, but so politely. Seward not wanting to share his records and making up excuses on why, and Mina not having any of it (politely).
Jonathan notes how "charming" Dracula is, how he talks to him in "his smooth way", how "resistless" he is. Seward also talks about letting Mina visit his violent patient because he "couldn't resist her" due to her being so appealing when asking.
Both Dracula and Mina use charming assertion to get what they want.
Hm... You raise an interesting point.
I do think there's an important subtext that shouldn't get lost here... namely the threat lying just beneath the surface for Dracula at all times. His charm is not only resistless for its own sake, but because Jonathan knows that if he challenges it, that might peel away the thin skin of polite friendly smooth talk and reveal the true danger beneath. We can't forget that any more than Jonathan. (And of course, Mina has no such threat - if anything, it's still more the fear of the threat cause by Dracula that's a possible option if people refuse her, when there could be said to be any threat.)
That said, Dracula's charm can be genuinely powerful in its own right. He is good at talking around or past things he doesn't want to mention (without having to outright shut them down; he did pretend not to hear at times but also was able to steer the conversation away), or just speaking with confidence that he will get his way and that everyone else agrees with him and will naturally fall in line. He's good at framing things in a way where arguing back makes you look like the one in the wrong ('obviously you won't want to go anywhere that's locked anyway', etc.). That "is it not so?" which he repeatedly uses sounds like a question but it isn't, really, it's phrased in a way to make you agree. It always comes after him stating things as facts to ensure you do agree. And by doing so, to make you become complicit with and approving of what he's doing. He has a kind of mastery of language that includes these sorts of tricks, but also he's just a genuinely good conversant. He talks well and interestingly, his conversation is engaging and can be entertaining. Maybe to compensate for the many ways he is instinctively (or otherwise) creepy, or maybe just as a holdover from his living days, Dracula is good at wielding his words and charisma. I think you can see in his treatment of Jonathan how much he's missed having a good conversant to play off of, and while he obviously does mix in lots of tormenting and being scary, he also plays the role of Charming Host well when he genuinely wants.
It's all the more interesting since this entire aspect of his character vanishes in London as he recedes to the edges of the narrative, becoming a largely offscreen menace. His speech against Mina showcases much of his power over words, but she is able to pick out the key information to use against him. And his blustering to the boys in the house later that day is hardly up to his usual standards in my opinion; it may sound kind of tough but is pretty much immediately proven to be flimsy with him fleeing right away. There's certainly no attempt at charm in it.
...but I digress. Back to the point, with Mina. I think she is very good at manipulating people when she wants. The telegram to van Helsing I don't think is the best example, because both the medium being used (paid by word so short and to the point) and the circumstances (a reply to his letter asking if he could come see her) make her message less demanding, even if politely so. It's more just letting him know she is available and giving the go-ahead. But she does get Seward to show her his audio diary as well as let her visit Renfield, and she is able to establish a very quick bond with him and the rest of the suitor squad, as well as van Helsing. I mean, everyone packbonds quickly but Mina especially is good at charming people right away. She also does this later on, convincing van Helsing to let her come along to chase Dracula, convincing everyone but Jonathan to promise to kill her if she turns fully, etc. Just because I say she's good at 'manipulating' doesn't mean I think she is being Machiavellian about it; she's not conniving or evil or merely using people for her own ends. But she is good at ensuring she gets her own way when she feels strongly enough about it, because she knows the right arguments/emotional appeals to make.
I think there are two pretty distinct differences between Mina and Dracula in this regard. First: honesty. Mina genuinely believes in what she's doing, and in fact the idea that she would deceive Jonathan to manipulate him into bringing her along is a particular fear of hers about turning further. All of her 'resistless charm' comes from a place of genuine feeling and care. It's most often motivated by consideration for others, and in fact she tends not to speak up if its only for her own sake. Dracula, on the other hand, is fundamentally dishonest, especially when he is at his most charming. He plays the role of a friend or at least someone friendly, but he doesn't genuinely care for anyone else over himself and at his variant of 'resistless charm' is entirely about what he wants you to do or not do. (Not to mention, at the end of the day he views people as prey.) Mina is motivated by outcomes she wants to achieve to aid others. As a result, Dracula's charm is inherently more something he has to intentionally put on while Mina's may be more instinctive or at least more connected to genuine feeling.
The second big difference is connection. (This overlaps a little with both the idea of honesty and also motivation, but I chose this term to be more distinct from the above point.) While both of them may be very charming, and you may give in to both of their words, the type of words they use are different. They both sometimes use a kind of logical framework to make a request sound like the answer yes is only sensible, even, but the type of framing logic is based on different premises. Without getting too much into all the specific examples, the types of charming words Dracula uses to ensure his way tend to rely on duties or social structure (your master/employer said you'd obey me, you are a good guest). Mina on the other hand justifies herself through people (I know you through Lucy and you'll know me from this journal soon, you have to stop me lest I harm you all). Mina's method of appeal tends to remind people of the connections of trust, respect, and love between her and themselves/others. It kind of harkens back to the importance of 'recommendations' and letters of introduction and such, but not so formally. Even when she doesn't specifically ask for the sake of some other person, like when she wanted to see Renfield, her reference to Seward's diary is a reminder of the intimate exchange of trust and comfort accompanying her listening to it. Again, I don't think she is thinking all this out to figure out the best way to make people listen to her, but she really cares strongly about people, and as that is her motivation it also naturally informs how she talks and appeals. Compare this again to Dracula, who doesn't trust, respect, or love anyone else really, and his words based on more external structures make sense. His charm is a power-play while Mina's is reaching out to others.
(I have thought about vampire!Mina weaponizing her charm before though, and I think that would bear more in common to Dracula's style of doing so for sure. At the very least in the more malignantly intentional/dishonest way. But as it is their styles of charisma are different at the core despite both being charmingly irresistable at times.)

Grim Future AU: a breakdown
because they are all so horribly sad.
Just kidding, sort of. ANYWAY here is a long-awaited rundown of our Grim Future au! You can find the completed fic, titled Terrible Things here :)
Just as a precursor, for this universe we have combined bits of the manga into the anime, the latter of which we are much more familiar with.
The AU starts roughly 10 years after the events of Soul Eater. During these ten years, Liz and Patty, and Maka had passed away in two separate accidents. Sometime in between, Black Star and Tsubaki vanished from Death City, and have not been seen since. Nobody knows why they left or if they are coming back. That left just Kid and Soul in the city, picking up the shards of their life into some shabby semblance of normal. The immortal and the Death Scythe. And Maia, who is the last bit of Maka Soul has left.
As I said, Kid and Soul have managed to build a new sense of normal that works, despite everything. They’re still hurting but at least they can pretend everything’s okay, and focus on making sure Maia is happy. Everything is great until a pair of someones decide to finally come home.
For anyone who wants a deeper look at what goes on in the story instead of/before reading the fic, I’m going to keep on explaining. So, vague spoilers under the cut.
The main plot kicks off when Tsubaki drags convinces Black Star to go back to Death City, seeking their old friends’ help to hunt down a rogue, unusually powerful witch covertly wreaking havoc on the countryside.
The story follows a couple of plots:
Kid, Black Star, Tsubaki, and Soul are all trying to locate and confront the witch, but are repeatedly struck down because, as I said, she is abnormally powerful. She also seems to have a bit of a history with Black Star.
Maia, recently enrolled in the DWMA is getting more and more restless, wanting to follow in Maka’s footsteps to be the best meister in the academy. But there are things about herself that she needs to be careful with. Her story focuses on a balance between her ambition and wellbeing, fighting for her sense of self.
Meanwhile, Black Star and Tsubaki are grappling with the consequences of their past.
While Kid tries to figure out what happened to Black Star, Black Star is trying to get Kid to confront his past and his emotions, since Kid has spent more than 10 years shutting out his humanity, and, with it, the people he loves. There is lasting tension from the last time they fought spoke to each other.
Soul is, above all else, trying to keep Maia safe. Between the witch’s cryptic plans, Black Star’s mentorship, and Maia’s raging ambition, AND the temperamental teenager Wes suddenly dumped on him, he’s got his work cut out for him.
Amelia (the aforementioned temperamental teenager) has mostly just been thrown into the whirlwind of drama in Gallows Manor, but she grows a lot as she befriends Maia and accepts her heritage, finding a family along the way.
I think that’s everything. The point of this blog is to expand on the ideas presented in the fic. We are constantly adding to this AU and have so many ideas and little details that surpass the boundaries of the fic: what happened before Terrible Things? What about after? Where the hell is Crona? What exactly is Azrael? What can Amelia and Maia really do? Plus a growing cast of characters that didn’t make the fic. It’s all just for fun, plus this blog helps us document ideas (as if we don’t have a nearly 200 page doc of stuff).
Feel free to ask questions!

Mr. Saqqara? How's your lovelife with the Hound? What's the relationship dynamic? Does Mr. Bile know?
(OOC: Asks still don't work on desktop, but are now visible on mobile again. So I can "answer" with a placeholder and add the real text later. I won't type my texts on my phone, so this is an awkward workaround, but better than nothing! Give a big hand to returned ask posts!)
Saqqara snorts indignantly. Sets the datapad aside. „That‘s pretty personal!“
Arrian lowers the book he has just been reading with mediocre interest, slips in one of the dried leathery leaves of the large carnivorous vines from the arboretum as a bookmark, reaches across the table with the stacks of books and half-disassembled explosives and takes Saqqara‘s datapad.
The latter half-heartedly protests: „Hey! That‘s private correspondence!“ - „And this from the man who has made it a very fruitless hobby to steal the Chief Apothecary‘s ‚private correspondence‘?“ - „Only those which would upset him anyway and thus keep him from his work. I‘m practically doing him a favour.“ - „And to find out what of it would upset him, you read everything first?“ - „Yes, of course. How else am I supposed to make an informed decision?“ Saqqara‘s beaming smile as he says this leaves no questions. Arrian shakes his head. The nails rattle. Then he reads the message. His eyebrows move up, slightly distorted by his scars and ancient service studs. „Angron‘s spiky ass … that‘s really personal!“ - „Told you!“
The World Eater sighs and throws the datapad to Saqqara, who catches it with one hand and puts it back on the table. „I‘ve heard there are holo-shows in the Imperium that only deal with the love lives of some singers or actors. If you take that as a benchmark - we‘ve done it, we‘re apparently of public interest!“
Saqqara reaches for the datapad again, plays with the pen. Draws squiggles on the surface and wipes them away again. For Word Bearers, calligraphy and warm-up sketches are service to their Primarch and therefore an almost religious thing. Arrian has learned that the diabolist is then not really responsive until he emerges from this trance again. While he, like all Astartes, is aware of his surroundings and potential threats in a subliminal way, communication is then no longer desired.
Arrian doesn‘t really care what other people think about him or what he does or doesn‘t do. He doesn‘t have the Emperor‘s Children‘s craving for validation - which each of them vehemently denies - and doesn‘t have the Word Bearers‘ need for group affiliation. So this strange question to Saqqara doesn‘t bother him at all. He opens his book again, his mind halfway back to the torsion properties of the fibres of certain climbing plants. He glances sideways at Saqqara. The diabolist has begun to write. Arrian nods, adjusts the band that binds his nails at the nape of his neck and then sinks completely into botany.
Saqqara gnaws on his lower lip as his pen scurries across the pad and the little cogitor dutifully converts the elegant Colchisian runes into cold data.
„In the writings of the Primarch - may the gods steadily bless and preserve him - it is repeatedly pointed out that we do not exist as uninfluenced individuals in a selfish bubble, but only gain strength and resolve through our relationships with our brethren and the beings of the Immaterium.“
He pauses for a moment. Then adds, „And in light of this divine advice, I can say that I am aware of how the gods have blessed me. Arrian may view this more pragmatically, but he cannot deny the benefits and the positive impact our relationship has had on both our performance and abilities.“ He pauses. Crosses out the word „relationship“. Tries about five synonyms before returning to it after all.
Then he continues writing swiftly. „Which is probably something the Chief Apothecary is also aware of. He may in principle be absolutely uninterested in all things concerning the sparse private lives of his students and subordinates, but he punishes anything that leads to a deterioration of performance very mercilessly.
From this I can say with some certainty that Fabius is positively indifferent to our relationship. He wishes to know nothing of it - as little as he cares for the dance that Narvo Quin and Bellephus perform around Savona.
The Chief Apothecary regards any attachment with mild disgust. He is the most solitary being I have ever met. For an Astartes, positively unique. Quin suggests that he was no different before the Rebellion. Lord Fulgrim had to practically drag him out of his apothecarium by force once he needed him to work with other Emperor‘s Children.
To that extent, I can say with some authority that the Chief Apothecary is the last person in the galaxy who cares in the slightest about that relationship.“
He reads through everything again and nods with satisfaction. Taps „Send.“ Then looks over at Arrian, who is absently making notes in the form of chemical formulae. For a few heartbeats he allows himself a very gentle smile in the direction of the World Eater, who doesn‘t notice.
Tumblr media
(Some Saqqara for purely decorative reasons)
And some additional observations: In my mind Astartes are not build to have too deep emotions. If you remove the fear-response, you have to get rid off a lot of other stuff, too - maybe unintentionally.
The Emperor's Children got all of it back and then some. Because of Slaanesh and their gene-seed reflecting Fulgrim. But the other Legions are very sparse in their emotions. Or, let's say: slow-burn.
And that's how I see Arrian and Saqqara. They don't talk much about anything concerning their feelings or their relationship. A bit like cats: "I don't love you. I'm just always in the same room you are purely on coincidence."

The Traveler's Council Excerpt
Hi! Not sure whether you're still on tumblr or not, buuuut I guess I'll try this thing out. So, I first read your fic a while back and instantly got so obsessed with the main team dynamic and all that bonding, I...wrote a fanfic about it! That is still in the process of being written! Anyway, I wanted to share some excerpts with you, but I'm not done with the fic yet. >.< Anyway, getting a bit rambly, so here are four out-of-context excerpts!
***
“W-we’ve been, we’ve been hunting for a treasure, too, actually,” Lulloyd spoke up. Everyone looked at him in surprise.
“Wait, really?” Monty raised an eyebrow.
“I’m parroting myself.” Harumi shook her head. “What’s the treasure?”
“It’s, uh…well, the uh…title is kinda…long.”
“Oh, come on!” Mage protested and slumped over the table. “Don’t leave us in suspense like that!”
“...The Super Mildly Awesome Treasure of Unexpected Secrets and Unrelated Plot Twists At the Worst Times.”
Everyone cringed simultaneously.
“Oh, yeah, okay, forget I asked.” Harumi choked out a cross between a groan and a laugh.
"I I’m going to regret asking this.” Monty sighed. “Does anyone else feel like we just set ourselves up for something by asking that question?”
“Oh, uh, probably,” Lulloyd replied. “But don’t worry! The Super Secret Ninja Force are on it. We, we’ll find it!”
***
“T-that’s pretty important, Monty.” Lulloyd laughed.
“Yeah, in an anime.” Monty grumbled. “Not in real life when it involves me having to deal with the Walmart version of the Super Sentai Rangers.”
“The…Walmart version of…what now?” Over blinked repeatedly, trying to process what Monty had just said.
***
“Lloyd,” Lulloyd began slowly, then tilted his head to look at the ninja in question. “That…was…”
“Bat-shit insane,” Monty said bluntly, getting a warning look from Lulloyd and Over alike.
“I killed the mood,” Lloyd groaned into his hands. “I’m sorry.”
***
“Well, what is it?” Monty asked impatiently. “Spit it out, already!”
“We got a new Elemental Master in town.” Harumi said simply, taking everyone at the table aback.
Lloyd almost jumped out of his seat. “What element did they have?!”
“This is gonna sound stupid, but it’s sand.” Harumi said. “The glass broke because they were trying to harness the sand from before the glass was materialized…which is kind of stupid, but Olive pointed out that the particular type of glass that was broken each time was important. It’s very expensive glass for a reason - it’s made by a company that somehow figured out how to make the glass where the sand remains a separate material from it. Techno Bandit here must have figured that out and so tried to use his sand powers with the glass. Maybe to make it easier to carry the equipment and tech that he stole? I don’t know, but either way, we were able to figure out that the Techno Bandit was an Elemental Master of Sand.”
“You’re right,” Monty said. “That is stupid.”
***
I tried. T^T
I let my mind wander a little too far with the fic ideas annnnd these excerpts are from a story called The Traveler's Council, which is a precursor to Rewrite the Ninjaverse...which is basically an idea from Across the Spider-Verse. XD
Traveler's Council sets up a group of universal counterparts(those that aren't necessarily of Lloyd specifically, but all have the green power or something similar etc to stay sorta within the rules) that have ended up in the same situation as Over, only they kinda wanna crash other universes and transform it into the ones that they lost, by the promise of some crazed Time God.
Rewrite the Ninjaverse thus far is probably the more self-indulgent of the two. It's basically that Time God from earlier accidentally dragging Lloyd into their business and a kind of reversal of Enter the Ninjaverse happens, where instead of Lloyd starting out the fic hunting down the people who took his powers; he's being hunted by the person-Time God-whose powers he had accidentally STOLE. And he has no clue how to use them, so he lands himself in infinite loops that either clash with his own universe's timeline, and most frighteningly, the events of Enter the Ninjaverse. Obviously, changing the timeline is probably not a good thing, and in Lloyd's case, it's just really awful every time loop - so the story is basically him scrambling to fix the timeline back to its rightful place and uh...well, as you can tell, it's a bit...messy.
***
...by the way, I didn't use this "Show Me Anything You Have!" submission box incorrectly, right...? Or misunderstand what it means? Cause if I did, I sincerely apologize for my crazed ramblings. XD
(I always get this nervous talking to fave fanfic authors I appreciate a lot-)
Anyway, uhhh happy early new years! X3
