in the spirit of adding more planks to the tiny raft that is shipping Kenichi/Mariko/Usagi. here is the ridiculous American high school au that has been bringing me joy since like. march?

they have been going to the same school together their entire lives. the rumors about them are already insane. usagi and kenichi tried to kill each other behind the gym once and kenichi almost got kicked out of school. if you talk shit about one of them in front of the other you WILL get hit. if you talk shit about either one of them in front of mariko she'll roll her eyes and refrain from comment. no one knows the truth.

you might think the swords thing gets translated as a sport but i think the best translation is music. usagi is a french horn player. that's not relevant i just need you all to know that. he and kenichi competed over first chair trumpet in middle school and now usagi gets all the cool solos.

the neko ninja are theater kids. also not really relevant. also brings me joy.

the way the jotaro drama gets translated is. they are dumb high schoolers. mariko and usagi hooked up. mariko thinks 'oh okay we're dating. this is locked down. step one complete time to get kenichi in on it'

mariko forgets to tell usagi this is the plan

usagi sees someone's post about mariko and kenichi kissing in the hallway and goes through the five stages of grief about it

and when mariko shows up to talk to him goes 'it's fine :) i'm very happy for you. you're both my friends and i know you will be happy together.'

mariko goes 'oh no' and realizes she needs backup

while she and kenichi are making a plan of attack

usagi asks his lab partner kinuko to the school Homecoming dance.

(they started out as 'UGH you're so annoying i hate you' and now they're getting along. really well actually.)

mariko enters a state of doubt of 'maybe he just. didn't want to do polyamory. that's that's valid' and starts to doubt her own memory of events

kinuko hears from someone else the Drama of how usagi got dumped by mariko

(i wasn't DUMPED, usagi says, loudly. no one is listening to him)

kinuko figures out she's the rebound and she's not really interested in that. so they go to the dance. it's a nice time. at the end of the night she tells usagi they shouldn't date

she does NOT tell him about the guy who spent all night glaring at them from a corner

kenichi tries to track down usagi and explain to him what's going on. starts out poorly with 'listen i KNOW you were dating mariko first she TOLD me--' and then usagi just goes oh :( oh you both agreed she should cheat on him. okay.

kenichi attempts Dip Kissing.

(on chizu's advice.

sometimes she kisses usagi on the cheek to blot her lipstick and he doesn't even look up from whatever he's working on)

it goes Poorly. so kenichi decides. okay i will just not let you go until mariko gets here.

usagi, being usagi, goes i can still beat you in a fight.

mariko arrives and the two of them are just brawling behind the gym again.

they're idiots. things work out eventually.

and also because its funny here are some of the times the cup has been held near or above water both salt, fresh and chlorine alike since oceangate in no particular order

and i just think its very clear when oceangate happened because now everyones holding the cup high above the water/near bodies of water and not letting it get dunked

but pre-oceangate the cup was just dunked in maffhews pool hours after they won it (which was before they went to las olas and welp the rest is history)

If you like darker content when you're regressed and scary characters being possessive of you, that's also great! They'll never let you go anywhere without them.

If you need to block all horror content when you're regressed, that is so valid! You're not too sensitive, it's scary stuff and you deserve to be safe and feel good!

If you love to watch gory content and horror shows when you're regressed, that's also valid! Your interests don't have to be what other people expect, and what's safe for you doesn't need to be the same as what's safe for bio kids.

This is true for everyone, but it's important to remember as regressors! This is our safe space and it's important to both keep each other safe by tagging our content, and respecting what other people find comforting.

We have finally finished this project, and thus, The World's Worst Dating Sim is finally DONE! Just in time for April Fools Day. Now, with our six new contestants, choose, uhh... who's dateable? Or not dateable? This last batch was determined almost entirely by People Telling Us Who To Add, contains multiple AUs, and is... hmm. "Unconventional" may be a good term? Half of these are probably undateable but you can still shoot your shot.

Well, we assume that you can do less lethal than the bandit who people mostly know thanks to her former job as a corpse disposal unit, but some people might be into that sort of thing, honestly. Are you, perchance, also a mantis?

Constantly upset by the inability to freely talk about the DSMP in other spaces. I get why, I 100% understand why it makes people uncomfortable and I'm not saying this has to change. It just like. I dunno it sucks cause I'll have a really interesting take in comparing a character from MCD to a character in the DSMP, and then nothing to do with it. I get not wanting to talk about that and all of the baggage that comes with still loving the DSMP to this day, trust me I do, but there's just something there.

Something they have in common that matters and yes it's that they're both mediocrely written Minecraft Roleplays. The way that the characters in MyStreet aren't their voice actors but they totally are in the same way that DSMP characters are separate from their CC but also intrinsically attached to them.

I can't find coherent words to describe this entirely, there's just something special these stories have in common and I think there's a lot of value in comparing them. I'm just like. Scared to go into it. Because the DSMP is a sore spot for a lot of people, I know the Aphmau to DSMP back to Aphmau pipeline is 100% real, I went through it more than once (somehow). But digging into both of these flawed series and observing them at their on level, on their terms, and comparing them to each other seems like something that would be really fun.
