Someone put an artifact in my microwave

I was cooking burgers, rice, anything I can get my hands on. Then a scientist shows up and asks to use my microwave. Before I can express as much of a word, an assistant jumps my counter and puts it in. My experience with anything to do with science is that anomalies and artifacts are very dangerous and should be controlled, contained, and can't be in a kitchen. The artifact explodes, and everyone in the kitchen is on fire. I put myself out , grabbed a fire extinguisher, and put the assistant out. Call him a dumb ass and drag em to med. Spiders crawl out of the vents but in my bar or surrounding area and I make spider soup.

This is little project to expand the biodiversity of my own worlds. I have many space-faring aliens, but few of their homeworlds are fleshed out. Anyone is more than welcome to use these prompts as well! Please tag me if you do, I’d love to see what you come up with :)

My organism below the cut:

These creatures are from the Wahu homeworld. I ended up making two: one from the prompt itself, and one for this specialized creature to predate upon.

The Wahu homeworld is primarily a water world with sea spires and islands here and there. So, I decided these creatures live in sea caves (which I’m not sure actually count as subterranean? But who cares I do whatever I want forever). 

Both are highly adept at clinging to rocks despite the pounding waves that form these caves in the first place. The prey animal, called Kahira, is a somewhat barnacle-like creature that is highly photosensitive, and thus only grows in caves or other sheltered environments. 

The predator, called We’ahtsh (note about the pronunciation of Wahu words: apostrophes indicate a separation between the vowels, not a glottal stop), is about 2-3 times the size of a Kahira, which is to say probably around 5” (~13 cm) long. They also cling to rocks and slowly crawl across them like starfish. They are highly specialized to predate upon the Kahira with mouthparts perfectly shaped for prying open Kahira shells - that are unfortunately poorly designed for eating literally anything else.

We’ahtsh are pests because they are prone to making Wahu-build sea structures their homes and are very territorial. Which means if you touch one they will try to bite you. Mean lil fuckers. They’re not even particularly efficient at removing Kahira except in large quantities, because they have slow metabolisms.
