Orange Beach Bike Rental
You've probably heard about the electric bike craze (also know as e-bikes or electric scooters). So, what exactly is an electric bicycle? It's essentially a bicycle with a motor attached to propel the vehicle forward. Because the motor is electric and battery-powered, the electric bike, e-bike, or electric scooter is called such. People in Western countries are unfamiliar with e-bikes, despite the fact that electric scooters are highly popular in India and China. The first attempts to attach a motor to a bicycle date back to the 1860s in Paris. Modern e-bikes may not resemble their forefathers, but the philosophy and concept behind them remain the same. They are designed for the rider's comfort and enjoyment. For more information on Orange Beach Bicycle Rental, visit our website today.
So, what are the advantages of utilising an e-bike as a mode of transportation?
E-bike riders are not required to acquire insurance or obtain a driver's licence. This makes e-bikes ideal for students or persons who have had their driver's licence suspended (wearing a helmet is required at all times).
Electric bikes are both inexpensive to purchase and to ride. E-bikes can cost anywhere from $700.00 to $3500.00 in the United States. The upkeep is fairly simple. E-bikes do not require oil changes or costly engine inspections, which saves a lot of money and eliminates the need to visit a mechanic. Electric scooters are far less expensive to run because they do not require insurance. Electric bike components and maintenance are less expensive than typical motorbike or automobile repairs (that is of course if you need any repairs, e-bikes are build to last). The majority of parts are available online, and the majority of basic repairs may be completed by the riders themselves. E-bikes are battery-powered, which allows users to save a lot of money on gas while also having a positive impact on the environment. One of the primary causes of global warming is the greenhouse effect, which is created by emissions from our automobiles.
Electric scooters are considered bicycles and are permitted to use bicycle lanes. Allowing cyclists to utilise the bicycle lane also saves them a lot of time. Want to know more about Orange Beach Electric Bike Rental? Visit our website for more information.
The compact and light form of electric scooters makes them ideal for high-traffic metropolitan areas. Riders will not have to worry about locating a parking spot or storing their vehicles.
E-bikes are an excellent alternative to traditional modes of transportation, particularly for individuals who live in congested urban areas.

hello! can i request “you told me you’d be careful!” with lewis? it reminded me of the story he told on hot ones about almost drowning when he went surfing once 🫠🫣 but you can make it about anything of course ❤️❤️
Honestly, his adventures are equally as exciting as they're terrifying. But then again, skydiving does sound fun to me, so maybe I'm not the best at judging him
Anyway, hope you like this, I got a bit carried away❤️❤️
"You told me you'd be careful!"
The sun started to dip on the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. Y/N stretched languidly on the balcony of the rental house, the crashing of waves a soothing soundtrack.
She'd spent the afternoon catching up on work emails, a necessary evil that had stay back at the house while Lewis and his friends had, yet another, surfing day.
Laughter drifted up from the beach, Lewis's voice in the mix, warm and animated. She couldn't help but smile, even after all this time, laugh was still just as infectious.
A few moments later Lewis came to greet her, his loose hair wild and a grin plastered across his face. He was a vision of sun-kissed skin and tousled hair, the picture of carefree happiness. His movements light and carefree.
"There you are!" he exclaimed, throwing his arms around her in a bear hug. "You missed all the fun!"
Y/N laughed, returning his embrace. "Glad you had fun. You guys must be starving."
He nuzzled his face against her neck, his touch lingering a little too long. "Yeah, absolutely ravenous. But I think we can wait a bit"
Something felt…off. Lewis had always been affectionate, but not the possessive kind, and specially not the kind to cling to her like he was doing.
"Alright, lovebirds," a voice called out from behind them. "Don't monopolize the balcony all night."
Daniel, stood by the door, a mocking grin on his face and Lewis chuckled, finally releasing her.
"Just catching up, mate," he said, slinging an arm around Y/N's shoulders. "Come on, love, let's go grab some dinner."
The rest of the evening was a blur of laughter, good food, and stories under the starlit sky of the restaurant. But even amidst the haze of holidays, Y/N couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
Lewis's touch remained unusually persistent, his gaze lingering on her a little too long. Almost…cloying.
The guys that had joined the surfing trip also kept dodging questions on their day, always a nonchalant “it was fun” regardless of who asked.
When they finally retired for the night, the weight of it all was dauting. Lewis, already half-asleep, nuzzled closer to her. He was clinging to her skin at that point.
"Lew" she said softly, her voice laced with concern. "Is everything alright?"
He mumbled a drowsy reply, but Y/N persisted. "No, really. Something feels off."
He blinked, seemingly surprised by her comment. "Off? How so?"
"You're being… clingy," she said gently, trying to unravel the knot of unease twisting in her stomach.
Lewis's playful demeanor evaporated. He stared at her for a long moment, then nuzzled his face against her neck. This wasn't the relationship they had built – they could trust each other to talk about things, problems and their fear, but he seemed set on hiding whatever was going on in his head.
Pushing him away slightly, Y/N held his gaze. "Lewis, seriously, what's going on"
He hesitated for a moment, his eyes flitting away briefly before meeting hers again. "I hm…" he mumbled, but his voice lacked conviction.
"Lewis," she said, her voice firm but laced with concern. "Look at me. Tell me the truth."
He sighed, the goofy smile finally fading. "Alright," he admitted, his voice dropping to a hushed whisper. " I had a bad wipeout … a bigger wave than I anticipated."
Y/N's heart skipped a beat. "Bigger wave? Lewis, you promised you wouldn’t do anything stupid…" she trailed off, unable to voice the terrifying question hanging in the air.
Lewis met her gaze, a flicker of fear still lingering in his eyes. "I got caught in the undertow. Took a mouthful of water… thought…"
He didn't need to finish the sentence. The raw vulnerability in his voice, so uncharacteristic of the usually fearless man she knew, spoke volumes.
"You told me you'd be careful!" she exclaimed; her voice sharp.
He flinched at her outburst, a wave of regret washing over his face. "I know, I know. I messed up. I should have listened to the guys that knew the area. I…"
He trailed off; his words replaced by a heavy silence. Shame hung in the air, thick and suffocating. Y/N knew anger wasn't the answer, not at that point. Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to calm down.
"Come here," she said, her voice softer now. She pulled him wrapping her arms around him, his body melting into her embrace.
"I'm just glad you're here." she whispered, her voice trembling slightly.
He held her tighter, burying his face in her shoulder. "Me too, Y/N. More than you know."
Y/N kissed his forehead gently. "Just promise me you'll be honest with me."
He pulled back, gazing into her eyes, his expression a mixture of gratitude and love. "Always," he vowed.

Dad Steve in the summer bringing his nugget(s) and you to the beach 💗
dad!steve harrington x fem!reader
The car kept in the sticky heat in a way that Indiana never did. Boneyard Beach in Charleston, South Carolina was a mere forty minute drive from Hopper and Joyce’s new home, but the journey felt too long behind the wheel of the rental car.
Steve was pink in the cheeks by the time he parked in the sandy lot, his hair wild from the rolled down windows but at the sight of the ocean, he turned to you and grinned.
“It’s so blue,” you exclaimed, hands clasped together under your chin and you were almost frantic as you tugged off your seatbelt and opened the door. “Look, baby! Can you see the waves, huh?”
From behind your chair, your toddler clapped her hands, completely too young to understand what you’d asked her, but Margot gurgled happily all the same. Almost two years old and with curls as wild as her dad’s, she shared your eyes and Steve’s pouty, pink lips.
Steve managed to contain his grin as he gathered the bags and blanket from the trunk, eyes soft behind his sunglasses as he watched you gather your daughter from her seat and into your arms. She was still sticky with sunscreen, chubby little arms clinging to yours as you attempted to pop a sun hat on her head, much to Margot’s dismay.
Steve did his best to wrangle the bags into one hand in order to curl his free arm around both of you as you made your way from tarmac to sand, the pearly white grains of it making the vacation feeling come to life. The sky over the water was blue, cloudless, the ocean relatively calm and the beach quiet. There were a few families relaxing on the sand on bright towels, a couple and their dog a few miles down, throwing an orange frisbee into the shallows.
And once you found the spot you wanted, partly in the shade of some palm trees for Margot’s sake, you set her down on the blanket between your legs and let Steve tug off her tiny sandals, cooing at her the whole time as her daddy grasped her tiny hands in his own and let her experience sand for the first time.
She was unsure at first, babbles turning to whines as she stamped her little feet into the cool hills of it, brows scrunched as she stared up at her dad warily.
“I don’t think she likes it, babe,” Steve snorted, grinning at you and looking too pretty while he did so, with red swim trunks and his shirt off, freckled shoulders already turning tan under the summer sun. “Wanna try the water instead, Margot, yeah? Daddy’s gonna find you the prettiest seashell on the beach, how ‘bout that, princess?”
Your heart ached as Steve scooped your baby up, her fingers flying for his hair like always, grasping onto the ends of it as Steve blew a raspberry against her cheek. “I’ll find the second prettiest for you, honey,” Steve promised, winking at you in a way that reminded you all too much of senior year in high school, all the way back to when you first met him.
“You’re such a flirt,” you snorted, leaning back against the empty picnic bag and stretching out your legs. Your book was folded on your lap, fingers itching to pick it up. “I’ll hold you to that, Mr Harrington.”
Steve was already making his way down to the shore, but he looked back over his shoulder at you to grin wider. “Please do, Mrs Harrington.”
Despite your intentions, you found that you didn’t pick up your book at all. No, instead you watched from the sand banks as Steve held your daughter above the gentle waves, her tiny legs kicking wildly at the cool water, her face a picture of absolute marvel as she squealed and shrieked happily at each splash.

JJK Men Proposing 💍

Tumblr media
Kento Nanami:
"Love?"
"Yes?"
"Let's take a trip this weekend"
"Ooh ok. What did you have in mind?"
"Malaysia." Your typing coming to a pause you peered at him from above your glasses. "Malaysia? That's so random babe. Why there?"
"I've always wanted to go." Taking one last glance at him you noticed his restlessness. 3 years being together you've learned to read Kento Nanami; his face may be stoic, expressionless to others, but you picked up on the way he gulped, his fingers clenching and unclenching. Choosing to ignore his restlessness, knowing in due time he'll eventually come around to letting you in to his inner monologue, you warmly smiled stretching your pudgy, stout arms above your head. "Sure Ken, let's do that. We both could use a break."
The plane ride there you noticed his restlessness increase. "Ken?" you wrapped your smaller hand over his much too large hand. "What's wrong babe? You've been restless since we got on the plane."
"I'll be fine."
"You sure?" Leaning forward to kiss your forehead he hummed a "Mhmm."
He grabbed both of your bags escorting you to the rental area. Driving to the hotel resort he placed his hand on top of your left hand giving it a squeeze. "What part of Malaysia are we staying at?"
"Kuantan."
"Ooh ok. Sounds cool. Wait...you didn't bring me all the way out here to kill me right?" Staring at you in his peripheral he chuckled shaking his head. "You watch too many 'true crime' documentaries."
"But it's true babe! Most serial killers upon their first kill get anxious and after they've killed their victim it's like a high to them." Pressing a kiss to your hand he chuckled again. "You need to go back to watching Korean dramas or anime or something," Squeezing your interwoven fingers he suggests, "Take a nap love. It's going to take almost 4 hours to get there."
"No, no I'm ok! Really!"
15 minutes later Nanami glanced your way chuckling at your head nodding, trying to fight sleep. "Sleep love."
"You sure babe? I don't want you to be up alone."
"I'll be fine."
"Mmkay. Just know I tried." He chuckled as you stifled a yawn, kissing his hand before leaning your chair back to rest.
After having checked into the resort, Kento had planned a spa day for the both of you where you both enjoyed full body massages, clay mask treatment, and the jet bath to yourselves. "Ngh! Ken," you shuddered, the water sloshing over the sides as he gripped your full hips guiding you up and down his throbbing length, his half lidded eyes going back and forth between your fucked out expression, full breasts, and pudgy tummy. "What if -ngh- w-we get caught?"
"Shh," Nanami shuddered as your gummy walls involuntary tightened around his cock. "Seems like you don't mind us getting caught pretty girl." Biting your lip trying to suppress your moans as Nanami's cock hit that sweet spot you groaned, your eyes rolling to the back of your head. "F-fuck Nanami, yes, yes, right there love." Nanami rolled his hips against yours hitting that sweet spot. Biting down on his shoulder you came your legs twitching as Nanami kept thrusting up into you. "Fuck," he growled, he too biting on your neck as he released his hot, sticky seed into you.
After dinner walking in hand in hand on the beach you stopped just short of where the waves could reach you, marveling at the sunset. The sky was painted in pretty hues of pink, orange, and purple. Closing your eyes inhaling the scent of the sea, reveling in the moment, the moment was briefly shattered with whizzes and whistles of fireworks. Looking up into the sky you gasped. "Nami, look! They're hearts!" turning to search for him you gasped upon seeing your boyfriend on one knee, small, red velvet box in hand. "Y/N, Kuantan has a special meaning to me. This is where I want to settle, build a home. I can't imagine building a home, my future, without you in it. Will you continue to build with me towards our future? Together?"
"Yes!" you shrieked, tackling him in the sand laughing. "Yes, yes, yes! A thousand times yes!"
Tumblr media
Toji Fushiguro:
"Fuuuuck daddyyy 's too much." Toji had already made you cum three times, the first and third being from his tongue, the second from his fingers. You found yourself with your ass up, a mean arch in your back as Toji pounded into you. He loved fucking you from the back: watching the way your ass rippled every time his hips slammed against it, the way his balls swung hitting your folds and clit, your wide hips that he currently had a tight grip of, the stretch marks that adorned your thighs and belly, how loudly you were moaning at him hitting your g-spot, and how you always took him so well. With the way Toji was slamming his hips into your sopping cunt you felt yourself slowly slipping off the bed. Clawing your way attempting to move forward Toji slapped your ass, gripping the reddened flesh. "Stop running." Moaning you plead. "I-I'm gonna fall daddy."
"Then fall. As long as you stop running from this dick." He groaned as your tight walls clenched around him. "Fuck you're such a good slut fa' me. Getting turned on just 'cause I'm tellin' ya tah stop runnin'. Fuck momma bounce that ass back." Keeping your arch Toji stilled his thrusts watching the white ring around his cock slip in and out of your fat, juicy pussy, a slow steady plap plap plap sound filling the room, Toji grabbing a handful of your generous ass. He stilled you leaning over, his chest against your back, reaching into the drawer. Shuddering you knew he brought out the vibrator he graciously named 'Clittie'. "Gimme your left hand." Pushing yourself to balance on your right forearm you offered your left hand where he slipped a ring on. "T-Toji?"
"What? You gonna be with me or what?" Peering behind you locked eyes with him causing him to groan at your blissed out face mixed with light and love. "Your timing is so off." you chuckled. Grabbing your hips he slammed into you once again stating, "Fuck momma looks like you're stuck with me now. Whad'ya say huh?"
"Yes, yes, yes daddy! I'm all yours. Fuck I'm all yours daddy!"
"Good girl."
Tumblr media
Choso:
He must be exhausted was your initial reaction upon meeting him at the dog shelter. Your manager tasked you with training the new, quiet hire, his baritone voice making your pussy clench. After working together you came to realize that (1) ain't nothing wrong with his eyes, (2) you grew fond of his sleepy eyes, finding them alluring, sexy even and (3) he reminded you of a big -lost- puppy. He would follow behind you closely, the heat from his body emanating, as you explained the tools and showed him the dogs.
Working together allowed you to build the rapport needed, learning and falling for the ins and out of Choso Kamo. Closing together one night the power went out, PG&E updating you both that it would take at least 3 hours before the power came back on. You found him in the play pen, all the dogs and puppies sleeping peacefully around him. Attempting to discreetly take his picture you cursed when the shutter sound went off, his eyes snapping open. "Sorry," you sheepishly offer. "You just looked too cute surrounded by all the dogs sleeping peacefully."
"Delete that."
"Whaaat? Come on Cho it looks really good though." you tease. Surprising you with his speed you found him in front of you smirking holding your phone above his tall frame. Jumping trying to reach your phone you whine. "Not fair dude. You're like 6 feet."
"Grow some inches then."
"Or you could put some in me."
"Huh?"
"Huh?"
Attempting to cover your moans Choso bit your plush inner thighs, his tongue following shortly after. You looked to the sleeping dogs figures. "Ch-Cho," he swirled his tongue around your entrance, moving his way towards your clit. "Y-you think the dogs will mind?" Chuckling darkly he asked, "Now you're worried about the dogs? Where was all that cockiness from earlier?" Sucking your clit a moan ripped from your chest. "Choso please."
"What do you need baby girl?" he asked, spitting on your clit, watching it trail towards your clenching entrance. "Fuck me daddy."
A year later not much has changed except the constant fucking you and Choso did. Whenever Choso was in the mood your panties were pulled to the side as he stretched you out on his fat cock, his hot breath fanning your ear.
It was another closing shift but the rest of the team were there. You found it weird that everyone was still here considering it was only supposed to be you and Choso. "Y/N," your manager called out to you. "I need help in the play pen."
"Sure." Making your way to the play pen you were greeted by hordes of fur, giggling at the yapping, some of them jumping up to greet you. You noticed your manager and 2 of your coworkers sitting there giddy with anticipation. "What did you need help with boss?" She let a black chow chow puppy named Bo run to you, picking Bo up you noticed a red velvet box tied to its neck. Untying the red satin ribbon, opening the box you gasp recognizing his writing. "Will you marry me?"
"Turn around dummy." his baritone voice rang out. Quickly turning you found your boyfriend on one knee blushing furiously. "Aside from animals you were the first person to see me as a person. You make me feel welcome, warm, and loved. You have been like a light to my world and I can't see myself doing this life thing without you. Will you marry me Y/N?"
"Oh my god yes! Yes, yes, yes!"
Tumblr media
"Are we almost there babe?" you huff out.
"Yup."
"That's what you said an hour ago."
"You're so dramatic." He chuckled.
"Babe you literally woke me up at the ass crack of dawn."
"I thought you liked how I woke you up." Your cheeks burning at the memory of Satoru and you cuddling when in your sleepy daze you felt him lifting your leg up thrusting into you, groaning at how wet you were for him. "Morning love," his morning voice sending shivers down your spine as one of his hands found purchase on your breast, the other on your plush hip as his hips rut into you sharply. Catching up to him you lightly smack him. "That's beside the point."
"Oh look you caught up." Holding his hand out to you you deeply inhaled the cold morning air, your lungs expanding. "You could see all the stars from up here." he gently observed. "Babe look! It's Orion's belt! Oh and the big dipper too!" Gently smiling your eyes continue scanning the starlit sky in search of familiar constellations. "Look down hunn'."
"Huh?" Peering down at the circular rooftop you exclaim. "Babe it's a heart!"
"What else do you see?"
"Ummm," you continue to scan the rooftops reading aloud. "W-I-L-L Y-O-U M-A-R-R-" gasping you turned to see him smiling widely. "First let me give you this." Handing you a certificate you saw that he had purchased a star near the edge of Orion's belt naming it after you. "Gojo," feeling your eyes tear up.
"I wanted to gift you the North Star but NASA said some bullshit 'bout how that star can never be bought. Y/N, I wanted to gift you the North Star because to me you shine the brightest, even on the days you don't feel like it. I have watched your light shine and transcend to others and I want to continue being part of that journey. Y/N, will you continue to be my north star while I continue being like the sun?"
"Only if you shine with me for thousands of years."
Tumblr media
Geto Suguru:
"Love," Suguru called from your shared bathroom. "Babeeee." Standing in the doorway he watched as the blanket barely covered your naked sleeping form. You could sleep through anything. Light bulb going off in his head Suguru lay on his stomach, settling himself between your legs. Prying them open slowly he groaned at your glistening cunt. Pressing wet, open mouth kisses in your inner thighs he blew at your entrance watching you shiver. Teasing your already wet cunt he kissed around your opening. Laying his tongue flat, he parted your lips swirling his tongue around moaning at the taste of your essence, your musk scent mixed in with cocoa butter. Sucking, his mouth slowly moved up engulfing your clit giving it a tug. Moaning awake from your body heat you stir. "Babe?"
"Oh good! You're awake." He peeled his face away, your eyes growing dark at the sight of your arousal evident on his lips, chin, and nose. Trying to bring him closer he scooted away causing you to pout. "Sug?"
"Come on love. We have to go."
"But it's still dark out."
"I know but where I'm taking you you can only see this picture when the sun hits a 6."
"How you gonna leave me turned on?"
"I promise I'll make it up to you but we have to hurry. We only have 50 minutes and I don't want to get stuck in traffic." Groaning you reluctantly peeled yourself from the warmth of the bed throwing on jeans and a hoodie.
Quickly parking the car he grabbed your hand and ran with you towards the elevators of a merging company. Scanning your surroundings you were taken aback, a bit uncomfortable at how under dressed you felt. Getting off at the 17th floor he pulled you towards the staircase pulling you along the remaining 3 flights. Shouldering the door to the rooftop open you made it with 3 minutes to spare. Panting you ask, "Why didn't we just take the elevator all the way up?"
"For memory sake?"
"The fuck Sug." Quickly grabbing your hand he led you to the edge, heart hammering in his chest, he covered your eyes. 6AM hit, the rays of the sun slowly peeking over the city, it's warmth slowly seeping into your skin. Lowering his hands from your face he whispers, "Open your eyes love." Peeling your eyes you watch as the sun hit two billboards, turning them towards your direction; the first billboard reading, "Y/N let's continue making memories for eternity."; the second being, "Will you marry me?" Your hands clasping at your mouth you turn already crying. "Is that a yes?"
"Oh my god yes Sug! I love you! I love you so much!"
Tumblr media
Ryomen Sukuna:
Sukuna's grip on your plump hips were sure to leave a bruise. He couldn't resist you especially since you were panting on his weeping cock, trying to fit all of him in. "You're a big girl I know you can do it."
"'s too big daddy."
"Oh?" Adjusting his hips he slammed into you causing your back to arch into him, your mouth agape in a silent 'O' shape. He chuckled licking, sucking, and biting at your neck making sure to leave a trail of hickies in his wake. Continuing with his rough pace you let out a garbled noise as you clung onto him, your head falling into his neck. "Come on pretty girl, can't do all the work myself." Peeling back to look at him, water decorating your lash line, he licked his lips shivering at the sight. He liked this sight of you, how pathetic you looked around his cock. Smirking and slowing his pace, his stroke still hitting deep he teased, "What? Dick got you dumb?" Surprising him, yourself included, you pushed against his chest laying him flat. Planting your feet on the bed, your fingers slowly trailing down the expanse of his chest, outlining his abs, you lift yourself a little more than half off of his deck and slam back down. "Fuck woman!"
"Who's the dumb one now?" You continue with that pace, Sukuna gritting his teeth. This was one of the many reasons he fell for you, you were the only one who was willing to challenge him to gain dominance, although he was always the victor. "Fuck baby just like that." he instructs with his eyes closed. The sound of your voluptuous ass smacking against his thick ,muscular thighs were making him go feral, wanting to empty his balls deep into your sweet cunt.
"Fuuuuck daddy your dick's so good."
"Yeah? You like getting fucked by this big dick?"
"Fuck yes! I wanna have your kids fuuuck."
"Let's get married first."
"Yes, yes, yes!" In the midst of your riding he procured a ring placing it on your finger. Gasping you squeal, "You were being for real?"
"Woman if you don't accept me-" leaning forward capturing his lips you say, "I'd be honored to be your wife Ryomen Sukuna."

Tummy Aches - Multifandom - Kuroo Tetsuro
Inspired by this post by @alienaiver -> Komori -> Shinsou
Warning: Bathroom talk. Nothing too graphic, but if that's not your thing...
Tumblr media
“Perfect consistency,” Kuroo announces as he takes a seat at the breakfast table. “Color is a bit off though.”
Kenma curls his nose in disgust. “Please! Can you not talk about your shit for one day?”
“You did eat a lot of ice cream yesterday,” you comment, ignoring Kenma. “Do you want some probiotics?”
“No, thank you, but do we have some Kombucha left over?”
“Oh, fantastic choice. Do you want some too, Kenma?” You turn, but Kenma’s pulled away, curling his hands protectively around his gigantic coffee mug. You suspect he brought it with him, it didn’t fit the vacation rental’s aesthetic at all.
“Leave me alone with that stuff,” he hisses. “It’s disgusting.”
“It’s healthy,” Kuroo cuts in, plopping a perfectly peeled orange onto your plate. “Here, you need more Vitamin C.”
“Thank you. Did you put on Sunscreen?”
“Ah,” Kuroo grins. “I forgot. Can you do that for me later?”
Kenma rolls his eyes so hard you fear he’s going to faint.
-
“Cold?” You ask as Kenma huddles into his hoodie.
“No,” he huffs. “I always dress myself so I sweat like a pig.”
“Pig’s don’t sweat,” Kuroo point out, approaching. “Here. Your water is almost empty.”
“Oh, thank you.” You take the bottle, unable to keep from smiling at the sweet gesture.
Kenma snorts.
“Did you catch a cold?” Kuroo asks, already all over his - your - best friend.
“No. But you know what? I want to go onto the Ferris Wheel.”
“Oh, that’s a great idea.” You nod. “Let’s go there.”
The Ferris Wheel is not far, a proud fixture at the Beach. Surely a ride would be even prettier at night or at sunset, but even now it’s nice out, the clouds hanging in the sky like puffs of cotton.
Kuroo’s hand brushes against yours as you walk. More than once his pointer finger curls around yours. Pointedly you keep looking at Kenma as he talks, a lump in your throat.
Soon enough you’re settled in the little cabin, barely room enough for the three of you.
“All set?” The guy working the Ferris Wheel asks, grinning at the three of you.
“You know,” Kenma says, clearing his throat. “I think I changed my mind.” He jumps out of his seat like he hadn’t just complained in length about how drained he’d been feeling. “You two have fun. Don’t forget to kiss at the top.”
He’s out and about before you can disagree, your mouth still open from his comment.
“Well, off you go.” And before you can say anything, your little cabin moves, up and up and up.
Your left side is pressed against Kuroo, thanks to you trying to make space for Kenma. He’s warm next to you, a familiar presence.
“It wasn’t even my idea,” he mutters lowly under his breath, barely loud enough for you to catch.
“But?” you ask, heart in your throat.
Instead of an answer, his hand curls around yours. You lean your head against his shoulder, let your heart do what it wants. What it wanted to do all along.
-
“So?” Kenma asks as you step out of the little cabin, hands joined.
You can’t wipe the smile off your face. Kuroo looks a little dazed.
“I think we need to eat something with blueberries,” you say and Kuroo perks up like his name has been called.
“Oh,” he says, grinning. “The phytonutrients in them are good for your heart.”
“Exactly.”
Kenma groans. “Fine. As long as you stop talking about your digestion.”
“They can change the color of your poop too,” Kuroo interrupts him, winking at you. “Just so you know.”
-
If you're wondering why Kenma was third-wheeling that vacation, he was not. I'm the fourth person in this vacation setting but I've caught a stomach bug and had to stay behind at the AirBnB, resting. 😅

Romance in The Hamptons - Alexis Lafrenière imagine
Tumblr media
author's note: this is my submission for @wyattjohnston's summer 2k24 fic exchange, and i had the amazing pleasure of writing for @wildrangers! a quick shoutout to @2manytabsopen for helping me with Laf's characterization -- love you, bestie 🫶🏼. but yeah, i hope y'all enjoy the fic!
summary: summertime in The Hamptons leads to a budding romance...
wc: 3,028 words
"I still can't believe you managed to find us such a swanky rental," you giggled at your friend, Jamie, as you stepped into the luxury house that was nestled away in The Hamptons. The walls were painted in a cool, beachy white, and the smell of freshly cut grass and lemon cleaner filled the space. The floorboards groaned slightly underfoot, echoing the promise of lazy days and wild nights ahead.
Jamie shot you a knowing smile. "What can I say? Sometimes, being a travel agent has its perks." The house was indeed a steal for the season, boasting an expansive backyard that led directly to the beach, a hot tub that was already bubbling invitingly, and a fully stocked kitchen that made you want to throw a dinner party every night.
You set down your bags and took a moment to appreciate the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room. The sun was setting over the ocean, casting a warm, golden glow across the waves. The horizon looked like a canvas painted with a watercolor wash of pinks and oranges. You felt a gentle breeze waft in, carrying the salty scent of the sea. It was the perfect escape from the stifling city heat.
"Let's grab some drinks and hit the beach," Jamie suggested, tossing you a beach towel. You nodded eagerly, feeling the excitement of the vacation bubble up inside you. The two of you walked out the back door and down the short wooden staircase to the sand. The grains felt warm and soft underfoot as you laid your towel on the sand and pulled out a novel you'd been dying to read. The waves rolled in, a rhythmic soundtrack to the quiet evening that was quickly filling with the distant laughter of other vacationers.
As you settled in, you could hear the faint sounds of laughter and a beach ball bouncing in the distance. You glanced over to see a group of people playing beach volleyball, their shadows stretching long across the sand.
Shrugging your shoulders, you diverted your attention back to your novel, eager to dive into the story between the pages. Well, all was going well until you heard someone yell out, "Heads up!"
You looked up just in time to see a beach ball flying towards you. Instinctively, you reached out and caught it, feeling the rough texture and coolness against your palms.
You turned to see who had thrown it, and that's when you saw him: Alexis Lafreniere. He was jogging over, a sheepish grin on his face, with a group of friends in tow. "Sorry about that," he said, his French-Canadian accent making your heart skip a beat. "Are you okay?”
You felt your cheeks flush as you nodded, holding onto the beach ball. "Yeah, I'm fine," you replied, trying to sound calmer than you felt.
Alexis looked relieved and chuckled. "Good catch," he said, closing the distance between you. His eyes were a warm brown, and his brown hair was a wild mess from the wind. He stuck out his hand. "I'm Alexis.”
You took his hand, feeling the firm grip and the warmth that radiated from his skin. "Nice to meet you," you said, your voice a tad shakier than you'd have liked. "I'm…" But before you could say your name, one of his friends called out, "Laf, come on! We need you back!”
With an apologetic look, Alexis took the beach ball from you. "I'd love to chat more, but we're in the middle of a game. Maybe I'll catch you around?" He didn't wait for your response before he turned and sprinted back to the volleyball match.
You watched him go, his athletic build moving with ease across the sand. As the game resumed, you couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that he didn't ask for your name. You shrugged it off, telling yourself it was probably for the best.
The days in the Hamptons passed in a blur of sunscreen, salt water, and late-night bonfires. You and Jamie had made a pact to enjoy every moment, and you both stuck to it. The group playing beach volleyball every evening grew familiar, their laughter a comforting background to your own adventures. But Alexis remained elusive, always disappearing before you had the chance to approach him again.
\\\
One sun-kissed afternoon, you found yourself at the local ice cream shop, the bell jingling as you stepped inside. The walls were adorned with vintage posters of surfers and sailboats, and the smell of fresh waffle cones filled the air. You scanned the flavors, feeling the anticipation of choosing the perfect one to cool off with. That's when you heard it again - that accent. You turned around to see Alexis standing behind you, a sheepish look on his face as he realized you'd caught him.
"Hey," he said, running a hand through his hair. "It's you. From the beach. With the good catch." His smile was as warm as the day outside, and you felt your heart do a little flip. "I've been hoping to run into you again.”
You couldn't help but return the smile. "Well, you found me," you said, trying to play it cool. "What brings you here?”
Alexis shrugged. "Just needed a break from the heat. You know, the usual." His eyes searched yours, looking for something unspoken. "I've seen you around the beach, but I never got the chance to talk. I've been wanting to apologize for that. I'm usually not so… abrupt.”
You laughed it off, feeling a flutter in your chest. "It's fine. I've been pretty busy enjoying the sun and the waves." You paused, then took a risk. "So, are you staying in the area for long?"
Alexis nodded. "Yeah, l've got a place here for the summer. I try to get out of the city as much as I can." His eyes searched yours for a moment, and you felt a spark of curiosity. He was famous, but here, he was just a guy trying to escape the heat with an ice cream cone.
"What about you?" he asked, breaking the silence. "What brings you to the Hamptons?" You leaned against the counter, feeling the coolness of the marble seep through your shirt.
"Just a summer vacation with my bestie," you replied, gesturing towards Jamie, who was chatting with the cashier. "We wanted to get out of the city and enjoy some beach time.”
Alexis nodded, his gaze lingering on you before looking away. "It's a great place for that," he said, his eyes scanning the ice cream flavors. "So, what's your go-to?”
You pointed to the mint chocolate chip. "Can't go wrong with that," you said with a grin.
Alexis nodded thoughtfully. "Good choice. I'l have the same," he told the cashier, then turned back to you. "Would you like to sit outside?" He gestured to the small patio with a few tables scattered under an umbrella.
You felt a rush of excitement. "Sure," you said, trying to keep your cool. As you stepped outside, the warm sun kissed your skin, and you found yourself hoping it wasn't about to turn into a sweaty mess. Alexis pulled out a chair for you, and you sat down, watching as he did the same.
You both licked at your mint chocolate chip cones, the sweetness a stark contrast to the salty ocean air.
"So, are you guys here for the whole summer?" Alexis asked, breaking the ice between you.
You took a bite of your ice cream, the mint and chocolate a delightful blend on your tongue.
"We're here for a couple of weeks," you replied, hoping you didn't sound too eager. "It's our annual escape from reality.”
Alexis laughed, a deep, rich sound that made you want to lean closer. "I get that," he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "It's nice to just… be, you know?”
You nodded, feeling the beginnings of a connection. "Yeah, I do," you said, your voice a little softer than you intended.
Alexis's eyes searched yours, and for a moment, it was as if the rest of the world had disappeared. "You guys should come to our beach party tonight," he said, his voice low and inviting. "It's nothing crazy, just some friends and a bonfire.”
Your heart raced, and you felt a jolt of excitement. "That sounds amazing," you replied, trying to keep the eagerness from your voice. "What time?”
Alexis leaned back in his chair, his eyes still locked on yours. "It starts around eight. Just follow the sound of the music and the smell of the bonfire. It's not hard to miss." He took a bite of his ice cream, the chocolate chips glinting in the sun.
You couldn't believe your luck. "We'll definitely be there," you said, trying to keep the excitement from spilling over.
Alexis nodded, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Great," he said. "I'l make sure to save you a spot by the fire.”
The rest of the afternoon passed in a blur of excitement and preparation. You and Jamie spent hours picking out the perfect outfits and getting ready for the night ahead. The anticipation was palpable, a mix of nerves and excitement that had you checking the time on your phone every few minutes.
\\\
Finally, the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting the sky in a tapestry of oranges and purples. You and Jamie made your way down to the beach, the sound of the waves and distant laughter growing louder with each step. As you approached the bonfire, you could see the flickering flames and the silhouettes of people dancing around it. The smell of roasting marshmallows and woodsmoke filled the air, making your stomach rumble.
Alexis spotted you before you saw him, waving from the edge of the light. He was dressed casually in board shorts and a white t-shirt, his feet buried in the sand. You felt a flutter in your chest as he made his way over, his smile growing wider as he approached. "You came," he said, his eyes lighting up.
You nodded, feeling the heat from the bonfire warming your face. "We couldn't miss it," you replied, trying to sound casual.
Alexis took your hand, leading you through the crowd to a spot he'd reserved. "I'm so happy you're here," he said, his voice sincere. The warmth of his hand sent a thrill down your spine, and you couldn't help but squeeze his fingers gently in return.
The party was in full swing, with music playing from a portable speaker and people of all ages mingling around the fire. You recognized some of the faces from the beach volleyball games, but there were plenty of new faces too. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, the kind of gathering that made you feel like you'd been coming here for years.
Alexis introduced you to his friends, who were all welcoming and curious about the newcomer. You chatted and laughed, sharing stories of past summers and the thrill of escaping the city. The fire crackled and popped, casting a warm glow over everyone's faces. As the night grew darker, the stars began to appear, twinkling like diamonds scattered across a velvet sky.
You watched as Alexis interacted with his friends, his ease and charm evident in every gesture and word. When he turned to you, his eyes held a warmth that made you feel seen and appreciated. You found yourself sharing stories of your childhood and hopes for the future more than you usually would with a stranger. His questions were thoughtful, and his laugh was genuine.
The party began to wind down as the night grew later, and the group around the bonfire grew smaller. The stars grew brighter, and the crackling fire painted shadows on the sand. Alexis leaned closer, the heat from his body a comforting warmth against the cooling night air. "Would you like to take a walk?" he asked, his voice a soft whisper that sent a shiver down your spine.
You nodded, unable to hide the smile that had been playing on your lips all evening.
\\\
Hand in hand, you strolled along the beach, the waves whispering secrets as they kissed the shore. The moon was a silver crescent, casting a soft glow that danced on the water's surface. The sound of the party grew faint behind you, replaced by the rhythmic pulse of the ocean.
"This is incredible," you murmured, feeling the cool sand between your toes.
Alexis nodded in agreement, his eyes never leaving yours. "It's one of my favorite things about being out here. The quiet moments when you can just listen to the ocean.”
You let the sound of the waves wash over you, the saltwater breeze playing with your hair. The stars above twinkled with a clarity that was impossible to find in the city, and the darkness of the night wrapped around you like a comforting blanket. The tension between you was palpable, a delicate dance of attraction that neither of you wanted to acknowledge outright.
As you strolled further down the beach, the moonlight reflected off the waves, creating a path of shimmering light that led you to a secluded cove. Alexis stopped, turning to face you, his hand still holding yours. "It's beautiful here," he said, his eyes searching yours.
You nodded, feeling the butterflies in your stomach. "It really is," you replied, your voice barely audible over the whispers of the tide.
Alexis took a step closer, and you could feel the warmth of his breath against your cheek. The air was thick with unspoken words, and the scent of the bonfire lingered on his skin. His eyes searched yours, and for a moment, you thought he might lean in for a kiss. Instead, he tugged on your hand, leading you closer to the water's edge.
The waves lapped gently at your feet, the cool water a stark contrast to the warm sand. You watched as the moon's reflection danced in the ripples, creating a dazzling pattern that stretched out to the horizon. The silence between you was comfortable, filled with the steady rhythm of the ocean and the occasional call of a night bird. You felt a sense of peace that was rare in the bustling city life you were used to.
Alexis released your hand and took a seat on a piece of driftwood, patting the spot next to him. You sat down, feeling the wood's smoothness against your legs, the salt and sea-worn edges digging in slightly. The warmth of his body was a comforting presence beside you, and you couldn't help but lean in slightly, feeling the electricity in the air.
For a moment, you both just sat there, watching the waves play in the moonlight. The silence stretched out, filled with the sound of the ocean's whispers and the distant laughter from the party. It was as if the universe had paused just for you two, the rest of the world fading away into the background.
Alexis turned to you, his eyes searching yours. "You know," he began, his voice low and earnest, "I've been thinking about you a lot since that first day on the beach.”
You felt your heart skip a beat, unsure of how to respond. "I've… I've thought about you too," you admitted, the words tumbling out before you could stop them.
Alexis's smile grew, reaching his eyes. "I'm really glad to hear that," he said, his voice warm and sincere. He reached over and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, his touch sending a shiver down your neck. "You know, I don't usually do this sort of thing," he began, his gaze dropping to your lips.
You felt your breath hitch, the anticipation building in your chest. "What sort of thing?" you asked, your voice barely a whisper.
Alexis leaned in, his gaze never leaving yours. "This," he murmured, before his lips met yours in a soft, gentle kiss. The taste of mint chocolate lingered on his mouth, mingling with the salty tang of the sea air. Your heart raced as you melted into the moment, the feel of his hands on your arms anchoring you to the present. It was a kiss filled with promise and hope, a whisper of what could be.
When you pulled back, the world felt different somehow. The stars seemed closer, the ocean's whispers more intimate. You searched his eyes for reassurance and a sign that this was real. Alexis's gaze was steady, his smile warm and inviting. "I've wanted to do that since the first time I saw you," he admitted, his thumb brushing against your cheek.
You felt a blush creep up your neck, your heart racing in your chest. "I've wanted it too," you murmured, your voice barely above the sound of the waves. The air was charged with a tension that was both thrilling and terrifying. You didn't know where this was going but didn't want it to end.
Alexis leaned in again, his lips brushing against yours in a soft, tender kiss that made your toes curl. His hands moved to the small of your back, pulling you closer, and you melted into him, feeling the heat of his body against yours. It was as if the universe had conspired to bring you to this moment, under the stars with the sound of the ocean as your soundtrack.
When the kiss ended, you both sat there for a moment, the only sound the gentle whoosh of the waves. Alexis's hand remained on the small of your back, his thumb tracing small circles that sent delightful shivers down your spine. You took a deep breath, filling your lungs with the scent of the sea and the faint hint of his cologne.
"Thank you for walking with me," he whispered, his eyes never leaving yours.
You nodded, unable to find the words to express the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside you. You felt a strange mix of excitement and fear, knowing that this could be the start of something beautiful or just a fleeting summer fling.

I’m assuming Maryellen’s Vacation Playsuit is meant to go with her Airstream trailer, campfire cook set, and hiking accessories, even though it looks like it’s much more suited to playing at the beach instead of a rugged hike through the woods. Would really like to see a proper hiking ensemble for her, but the playsuit is fucking adorable so I’m just gonna love it.
And her airstream. OMFG WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT. LOOK AT HOW FUCKING ENORMOUS IT IS.
Tumblr media
Trailers, campers, RVs, and mobile homes were popularized in the 1950s as outdoorsy home-away-from-homes for the middle class. You could tow one behind your car and have a way to travel and go camping that didn’t involve actually experiencing discomfort.
Tumblr media
People figure out pretty quick that they made for decent living spaces, and they were actually advertised as being a mortgage-free way to own a home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyone who grew up in America knows that “trailer” quickly became synonymous with “trash.” To show how the mobile home went from an object of middle-class luxury to one primarily associated with poverty, I’m going to trace the history of what was once the skankiest trailer park in Seffner: the Scarab Trailer Park.
The property was bought in 1951 back before Seffner suburbanized, and it was primarily orange groves and scrubland. It had several trailers permanently parked there, as well as a couple of small office buildings. It rented trailers for the week, so families living in Tampa who wanted to get away for the weekend could come out and enjoy nature.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
By all accounts, it was a really nice place, and had it been preserved, the trailers there would have been excellent relics of mid-century design. Along with vacationing families, the single-week rentals made the trailers popular abodes for the migrant farm workers who came in to work the orange groves.
Soon, Seffner went from being out in the boonies to being the suburbs. Two strip shopping centers were built on either side of the park. Families didn’t want to vacation here any more. The week-long rentals meant that the park was now primarily being occupied by the very poor and transient. In the 1970s, the property was sold to a new owner who was very uninterested in keeping the park the nice place it once was. One of the other things about living in trailers is that they weren’t built to last like a proper home is. They started falling apart, and their tenants didn’t have the money to make repairs. By the 90s, the Scarab Trailer Park was fucking gross.
In 2004, the property was once again sold, and the new owner evicted the tenants on very short notice, leaving them effectively homeless.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The trailers were torn down, and today the property is a Tractor Supply Store. Landlords are scum of the fucking earth. Capitalism must be destroyed.

The Silent Spear Maker of Tiger Seal Cove A story about Anouk, an airbender of the Southern Water Tribe
I spent eight weeks this summer drawing twelve (now thirteen) pages of what is basically a fan comic. I used up almost my entire webcomic buffer to do it. Set during the era of Avatar Korra, this is the origin story of my airbender OC, Anouk. I first made this character almost ten years ago not long after The Legend of Korra had ended, but didn't start fleshing out her story until recently. Now I'm beginning to think I'm going to wind up making a whole graphic novel about the airbender girlfriends!
So here's my little passion project. Thanks for reading!
Page descriptions in alts, page transcripts below the cut.
Page 1 Tiger Seal Cove. The Southern Water Tribe. On the day of Harmonic Convergence. A small fishing village of brightly painted houses are illuminated from within. The purple sky above shimmers with green spirit energy. A freckled woman with long brown hair sits in a dog sled like patio furniture and looks up at the lightshow. She foofs out a puff of air, closing her eyes and smiling.
Page 2 Two weeks later. The woman is in her workshop chiseling a design into bone. Around her at her workbench are an assortment of tools as well as some of her spears that she has crafted. While there is a window looking out upon a snow covered hill illuminated by low winter sunlight, most of the light comes from an oil lamp below the window. Just to the side of the window is an old framed photograph of the woman's parents. She stretches broadly. Behind her is another workbench and more equipment. In the next room is a kitchen, stove, and low dining table. Looking in from outside, the reflection of the hillside is visible over the woman inside looking out. She smiles. Time to get up for a break! She swoops on a bolero-style jacket and heads out.
Page 3 She stands on the snow-covered icy hillside overlooking a small gathering of tiger seals snoozing on the beach. She goes through the waterbending forms for a water whip. On the attack strike, a sudden gust of wind blows by, loosing her hair from her hair stick. She rewraps her hair and looks around, confused about the sudden and inexplicable wind.
Page 4 She focuses her attention and moves through the attack strike once more. Again, a strong gust of wind blows by, this time fully blowing her hair down and sending her hair stick flying. She stares in shock at her hands? What is going on?! Behind her, the glow of the spirit portal aurora frames her head like glowing wings. She tries a few more swings and each time a gust of wind accompanies them. There is a wide panoramic shot from the icy blue mountains to the bright orange-yellow glow of the low late winter sunrise. A light breeze wafts by.
Page 5 A note on the front door reads: "Gone to Wolf Cove. Back in a few days. Anouk." Anouk sets out on a kayak journey to the city. A trail of bioluminescent algae accompanies her as she paddles through the early morning water. Once in Wolf Cove, Anouk ties her kayak to the pier and heads into the city to her waterbending dojo. On the street, other people are out strolling. One shop has four lanterns hanging above it in each color of the four nations.
Page 6 Inside the dojo, Anouk greets her bending master. No words are spoken. The dialogue balloons are pictographic. In the corner of the dojo is a large blue ceramic pot filled with water. The floor appears to be ice, with wood pillars emerging from it. The master arches her eyebrow with a wry smile and inquires if Anouk has done any waterbending yet. Anouk responds she's been practicing, but she's still not a waterbender. However, she did airbend. The master is shocked. Airbend? Anouk asks her bending master if she knows anything about the Air Nomads. The master ponders for a moment before asking if Anouk has a dog sled for travel.
Page 7 One sled rental later, Anouk is on her way to the White Lotus compound. The guards at the gate look at each other. The Water Tribe guard turns to the Fire Nation guard and says to him, "This might be our guest." He responds with a gruff, "We'll see." He scowls with piercing yellow eyes and yells out at Anouk, "Stop there! What is your business?" Anouk signs her name in Southern Water Tribe hand talk (which looks surprisingly like American Sign Language for some reason ). Panels below show the fingerspelling letters for A-N-O-U-K. The Fire Nation guard sheepishly turns to his colleague and says, "Oh. Uh, Rina? This is your department." Rina smiles and begins signing, "Can I help you?" A very excited Anouk rapidly signs, "I know this seems crazy, but I think I might be an airbender. I hoped to meet with Master Katara since she's the closest to an airbending expert in the South." Rina smiles with an excited, "Oh!" before resuming signing, "Yes! She told us to be on the lookout for any new airbenders!"
Page 8 Rina and Anouk sign with each other as Shen walks through the gate. Rina: Shen will let Master Katara know she has a visitor. Anouk: Thank you! Rina: If you like, I can interpret for you. Anouk: I would appreciate that! While Anouk waits for Shen to return, she gives scritches to the fuzzy polar bear dog who pulled her sled. Doggy closes his eyes and leans his head into Anouk's hand. Soon, Shen emerges from the gate and shouts loud enough to get Anouk's attention, "Hey!" He continues at a more reasonable volume, "Master Katara will see you now." Gruff Shen then wanders back to play with the polar bear dog. Rina follows Anouk into the interior of the compound as a nervous Anouk absentmindedly tucks her hair behind her ear.
Page 9 The legend herself, Master Katara, walks toward Anouk and Rina. "Welcome! I am Katara." Rina interprets this for Anouk. "Master Siqni was one of my students. When she contacted me and told me about you, I knew I had to meet you!" Katara smiles and tilts her head toward Anouk. "I'm so glad she thought to send you to me! Please, tell me about yourself." Anouk begins signing while Rina interprets saying, "My name is … Anouk. I craft fishing equipment in the village of … Tiger Seal Cove. I like to practice bending forms for exercise and meditation. Even though I've never bent an element in my life."
Page 10 Anouk continues signing while Rina interprets saying, "But the other day, a strange thing happened during my practice. I started airbending! Since you are the matriarch of the only airbenders in the world, I thought you might know how this happened." Katara's monologue: I'm not entirely sure. Though I expect the Harmonic Convergence had something to do with it. My son, Bumi, radioed me a few days ago with the incredible news that he was suddenly an airbender! At first he wasn't sure if he was simply a late bloomer. After all, airbending does run in our family! But then my youngest son, Tenzin, told me he'd received word of more airbenders in the Earth Kingdom. An inset circular panel shows a very excited Tenzin on the radio. Katara continues: He told me to keep my eyes open for other new airbenders, because they could be anywhere. And here you are! Anouk smiles.
Page 11 A wide shot of the three of them in the compound shows the wide space available for Katara's request. "Anouk… Could you show me your airbending?" Anouk begins the water whip forms, which is not lost on Katara. Just as before, the final strike releases a strong gust of wind. Katara is shocked. Here is an airbender before her who is not related to her. "Oh, Aang! It's really happening! The airbenders have returned!"
Page 12 Katara holds a teapot and pours. Steam wafts up from the hot green tea as it flows into the cup. Katara walks around the dining table to her seat. She speaks to Anouk as Rina interprets. "Tenzin told me he'll be traveling to the Earth Kingdom to meet the new airbenders there." Katara sits, placing the teapot back on its tray. Katara: And he encourages all new airbenders to go to Air Temple Island in Republic City. There they … you … can receive formal training on how to use this new gift from the spirits. What do you think? Anouk glances at Rina as she signs. Did Master Katara just say to travel to Republic City?! Anouk has a big decision to make.
Page 13 The note on Anouk's front door now reads, "Gone to Republic City. Back in a few months. Anouk." She puffs out a nervous foof as moonlight shimmers on the ocean behind her. Anouk is on a ship headed north. Three people behind her, one from each nation, sit on the deck benches to look at the moon while Anouk closes her eyes and smiles. She looks back at the city lights of Wolf Cove and how they pale in contrast to the glow of the bioluminescent algae kicked up by the ship and the majestic shimmer of the spirit portal aurora in the sky above. Her world has changed and she has no idea what's next.

maxiel 'things you said while we were driving'
Max wakes up slowly with the jolting of the car. His head judders where he’s leaned it against the window. The orange lights of the street lamps flash across the car, across his vision, warm and orange over the dashboard and down the seats.
He can hear the radio faintly, an indistinct voice talking about an awards show or an artist or something— he’s too tired to try and parse it out properly.
Daniel’s humming something under his breath, a low comforting noise that has Max closing his eyes again.
He breathes in the smell of the cheap rental, mint air freshener and the crisp seat against his neck. He doesn’t know where they are— somewhere in the middle of nowhere, faded white stripes shooting past on cracked asphale, inky black in the night.
Max feels blurry still as he shifts, tilts his head to the other side to look at Daniel from between his lashes; his eyes struggle to focus, making out his dark curls, the shadow of his eyes in his face, the curve of his nose.
Daniel slants a look over towards him— always catches it when Max wakes up like this, like he’s in tune with his breathing, his heartbeat. His hand comes over, off the wheel, pats at the inside of Max’s knee, thumb fitting in the curve of his kneecap.
Max shifts, opens his legs and blinks slowly at Daniel, puts his hand over his.
He can hear the soft rumbling of the car as it eats at the road, big tires rolling over asphalt steadily through the night. It’s a hybrid, makes it strange and quiet in comparison to Max’s childhood memories of road trips and caravans and puttering engines with his dad stood on the side of the road hands on his hips.
He’s watching carefully as Daniel’s jaw cracks as he yawns, wide, like a cat.
“Do you need to stop soon? We can swap.”
He sounds a bit off kilter— but they have red bull in the back if Max needs to perk himself up. He can jog on the spot in the cool night air if he needs to.
Daniel shrugs, fingers patting a rhythm on the leather of the wheel.
“Nah, s’alright we’re about 5 minutes away from the motel anyway.”
“Are you sure?”
Max sits up further in the seat, brows coming together. He squeezes Daniel’s hand in his lap.
“I don’t want you to be too tired— I can take over. And, of course, it’s dangerous to drive tired.”
More dangerous to drive tired than drunk; Max remembers his mum telling him strictly when he and Daniel had first been planning the trip. She’d pressed a brochure into his hand about it and everything and he’d laughed said ‘we’re professional drivers.’ She’d scoffed, said that didn’t even count if they barely drove on real roads, taking their fancy planes everywhere.
This is Max’s first road trip.
Daniel had been horrified when he’d first told him he’d never gone on a— he called it a ‘roadie.’
“You know,” he’d been trying to explain why it was so essential, and appealing, “you drive from place to place, you drink — not while you drive — you set up at beaches and shitty motels, it’s like, the life.”
Daniel answers him, in the present, makes Max snap out of his drifting memory.
“I’m all good. I promise,” a squeeze around his fingers, “thanks for checking in babe.”
Max nods, flops backwards into his seat. He looks out through the window in front of them, flat landscape, and there in the distance, buildings. The sign for a motel like a beacon, buzzing neon lights, a red glow around VACANCIES.
There’s a crinkled bag of chips and a soda in the compartment beside him and he digs around for the last few crumbs of chips, salty and comforting.
The crunch of gravel as they pull into the drive, and Max slaps himself lightly on the cheeks to wake up properly, stretches until he feels his shoulders pop. He looks over to see Daniel watching him, eyes soft with— something.
They’re only staying at this place for the night, off again bright and early. Daniel had already marked out tourist-y spots that they were covering— ending it all at the grand canyon. A grand finale.
“You ready to go in?”
Max leans over, presses a kiss onto his sleepy soft mouth, feels their beyond 5-o-clock shadows scrape as he nudges into Daniel’s cheek. Opens his eyes in the middle just to see Daniel’s closed, the blur of his face too-close.
“Yeah. I’m ready.”

you smile as the water crashes along your feet, currently in orange beach, alabama. life for you is something else right now. leaving your hometown after college, you decide to start fresh. you flip your camera down to your freshly painted white toes. "so pretty guys, and it's calm out here!" you say to the camera as the wind blows in your face.
that was something else that you decided to do, vlogging. you didn't know what caused you to buy a camera and tripod, you just did. maybe this felt like a safe way to communicate how you feel about your life. it was a great idea, your mind telling you. birds in the distance fly throughout the sky, landing anywhere on the beach.
you're from florida, a fun time growing up there but too much trauma for you regarding your relationship. boyfriend of three years decided to cheat on you while you were in class. finding out by seeing there was lipstick smeared on your sink, the thing is, you only wear lipgloss. shaking your head from the flashbacks, you walk back to your covered chair.
in the distance is sam with a few of his friends from college. he's sitting down with shades covering his eyes while a random playlist is blasting through some speakers sam grabbed from the trunk of his rental. he's looking in your direction but you're too busy giggling at whatever is on your phone. hearing a friend call his name, sam stands up to greet him, leaving the thought of you in the back of his mind for now.
you pull up your shorts over your bikini, there's laughter coming from the left of you and you turn your head to see a group of guys hanging out. one man in particular sticks out to you, well maybe it's because he's wearing blue swim shorts, blue hat, and a chain around his neck. he's dapping up his friend with a smile on his face, you wonder if you should get his phone number. but you shake that thought out of you, realizing that he probably doesn't live where you live.
placing everything inside your tote bag, you turn to your camera, "it was a great time out here, i can't wait to explore the rest of orange beach with you guys!" you say with excitement in your voice before hitting save, closing your camera. putting your glasses on, you flag down the lifeguard and alert him that you're leaving.
"thank you for spending some time with us today," the young man, kendrick, says with a smile on his face. you give him a nice tip, "you'll probably be seeing me almost everyday dear, take care." you send him a friendly wink before walking back to your car.
sam seen the whole thing, he didn't even get a chance to see your face but is wanting to be near you. practically aching for some affection after his last relationship ended pitifully. maybe you'll be here in orange beach for a while just like sam.
conversation with his friend, jake, resumes again, sam hears something about going out to eat tonight. "yeah i don't mind man," sam responds with before taking a sip of his beer. the sun begins setting and the friend group returns back to their hotels to get ready for dinner. sam silently pleading he'll be able to run into you and get a conversation out of you.
i don't wanna give
you the wrong impression
you're listening to rihanna while applying mascara. feeing pretty enough to go out tonight, maybe make a few memories, feel happy for once in a while. you wipe away a stray tear not trying to get reminded of that horrendous event. your stomach feels as if its turning into knots while you continue doing your makeup.
taking deep breaths, you finish applying your blush to your cheeks. adding some eyelashes, you feel complete with how you did your makeup. closing everything and placing it inside of your bag neatly, you put your airpods in your ear letting the song continue to play.
i need love
and affection
you slip your sneakers on then putting some earrings on. smiling to yourself in the mirror, you feel amazing. feeling like the old you. grabbing your phone, you turn the music off and grab the keys to the rental car. you keep a few lights on in the condo to return back to, closing and locking the door, you hear kids giggling on the sidewalks.
a neighbor says hello to you in which you do the same, giving them a soft smile. walking down to your car, you get in and immediately start it. placing the car in drive, you head off into the nightlife finding anything that catches your eye. a local gift shop makes you park your car and head inside, finding a few people who are picking up figurines and merchandise.
and i hope i'm not
sounding too desperate
walking around for a bit, you come across some the pink section picking up a hello kitty jar and looking closely at it. the door to the store opens, a loud group of men coming inside. you turn your music up a little bit louder, not in the mood to deal with anybody.
i need love
and affection
sam hears music playing behind him, he sees your back and realizes that it's you. the same woman he seen earlier today on the beach.
you seemed to be very reversed and shy, not wanting anybody in your personal bubble. you were holding up a pink heart shaped tray, sam has to stop watching you when his friends calls his name. "sam, what you find?" jake asks, he blinks bringing himself back to reality.
"nothing yet, i'm still searching for some party decorations." sam replies as he moves in the direction of the blue section. you turn your volume down a little bit when hearing a few raspy voice, your eyes come in connect with sam's back. moving out of the section that you're in, you walk towards the decor aisle.
"your favorite color must be pink," a voice from behind speaks, causing you to pause your music and put your airpods in your pockets. you turn your head to come in contact with the man who you didn’t realize had you sworn at the beach. just to find out that he's.. sam hubbard?
you tilt your head to the side and he laughs, "yeah, i know, not used to seeing an athlete out roaming like this," and you nod your head in agreement remembering what sam first said to you, "yeah, i uh.. i do like the color pink! how'd you notice?"
sam points to the hello kitty jar that's in your hand, "this and you looking at pink pillows gives me the idea that you enjoy anything that is pink." you blush slightly, trying to hide the smile that's creeping up on your face. "well, thank you for noticing that, i'm y/n."
sam reaches his hand out to shake yours and you give him a small shake before pulling away slowly, "of course well, i'm sam hubbard, are you from here y/n?" you shake your head no and sam wants to scream the word 'yes' very loud. "where do you live? if you don't mind me asking of course."
"cincinnati.. ohio." you feel as if a freight train has just struck you. remembering how sam was born and raised there plus he still lives there since he plays for the bengals. "oh really? maybe you can come see me play." you cover your mouth from laughing really loud in the store, "what makes you think i'll watch those bengals games for you?"
sam steps a bit closer to you, "with the way i've had you giggling since i started speaking to you, i'm sure you'll want to see me more." you grin a bit at his cocky words, he's somewhat right but you'll never let him know. at least not at the moment, "yeah, whatever helps you sleep at night mr. sam hubbard."
sam snickers at your comment, "how about when you finish shopping, we can walk across the street to the ice cream shop?" you look up to meet sam's sincere eyes staring down into yours, "i um.. is this suppose to be a date?" you tease and sam chest rumbles with laughter, "if you want it to be, i just want to get to know you better. that's all." you hum at his words before walking around him to head to the register.
"don't go anywhere mr. ninety-four." you joke, turning your attention towards the cashier afterwards.
you placed your bags inside the car and walked over the busy orange beach streets to get some ice cream with sam. "you must be here on vacation?" he asks once you two are in line. "yeah, just needed a peace of mind." you shrug your shoulders, not wanting to talk about your past relationship. "i say you're here for the same thing as well?"
"yeah, decided to leave cinncinati for the off season." you hum at his words and walk up to the counter when you're the next two people in line. "oh! fudge brownie, that sounds so good." sam laughs at the way you're staring at the menu items, "what? a girl loves chocolate!"
"interesting. i thought you'd like vanilla or something." you frown and make a fake upset face, "you've mistaken me for a basic bitch. i'm never basic." sam just laughs and stares at you as you swing your hair off your shoulders.
"i must interest your mind, hubbard," you say with your mouth full of brownies after waiting for a few minutes for you two's order. "yeah, yeah, just seen you on the beach and was hoping i could come across you again."
"sounds somewhat stalker like don't you think?" you say with a smile on your face and sam chuckles at that, "you got a lot of jokes up your sleeves i see."
you’re about to reply to sam until you hear the same rihanna and future song that had been playing while you were doing your makeup earlier. “oh! this is my song, what you know about this?” you ask sam before singing off tune to the lyrics.
“can you love me for poor?” you move your hands around as you sing.
“i’m searchin’ for my soul.” sam lowly sings and you snap your eyes at him, “whoever turned ya cold, you need to let ‘em know.” you stopped singing, letting sam continue but he doesn’t as he stares into your eyes the way that he did earlier in the store. the song continues to play in the background.
i can work miracles
i’ll work you physical
and when i hold you close
you can feel my heart
beating from my clothes
