having read nearly all of the Jeeves short stories, it’s so funny to me that Bertie’s bisexuality manifests as casting a wide but shallow net at girls and a narrow but ridiculously deep net at men. He thinks girls are pretty on a reasonably frequent basis, and has tried to marry at least four women thus far (not counting the unwanted engagements), but when it doesn’t work out he’s over it in 24 hours. Meanwhile he shows absolutely no interest in and never gives flattering depictions of 99% of the men in his life, but will praise Jeeves to anyone who will listen, wax poetic about his appearance (and get defensive on his behalf about it when a child insults it), and is absolutely inconsolable when they are separated.

(also Bertie is in no way allosexual. he is canonically terrified at the thought of reproducing. and due to the narrow but deep net on the other end I don’t imagine he’s going around sleeping with loads of men, either. that man’s either demi as hell or just entirely ace)

Before we call anon rude because let’s see it from their perspective, imagine getting an entire feast to eat. That can be pretty hard to start with so much that’s going on, but if they start with one thing they know they’ll like (aka one character they like) that can be the start for them leaping to other characters to finish the story and the bigger story. I struggle the same way to start book series if I don’t have at least one character that drives me to read it, it’s all about what can be the hook to push them through. Sounds like the anon is neurodivergent (just a guess) so they might genuinely not see it as rude and see it as a solution to even play the game to start with.

Btw absolutely adore the game, the complex and rich characters making them all so unique is amazing. The art is so pleasing to the eyes I love it!! I’m waiting for it all to get out at once so I don’t get too impatient. Shae however interests me the most, which routes will have the most lore for them? Will there be routes that give more lore in general based on decisions you make or do they all share the same amount? (I mean general lore not just Shae lore)

We are simply explaining our perspective as the developers / are trying to broadly encourage folks to dip their toes into other areas of the story outside of the main route(s) they're interested in, especially considering some routes will be made available sooner than others, and these other routes will likely contain additional scenes/lore of everyone's fave(s) regardless! We want to give each main cast member an equal amount of love (and lore) regardless of their overall popularity, so our goal is not to tut-tut anyone for having strong preferences for one character over the others, but rather to explain that you may be surprised by how much *more* you learn about your preferred characters in the other routes. That's all!

For Shae... Well, they were a foot soldier for one of the worst periods of the War. Lore wise, any other story that touches on the War will likely have content relevant to them and their experiences. ^^

Leafclaw - 19 moons A long-furred pale gray and white she-cat. Made a deputy despite her young age and lack of mentoring an apprentice due to her diligence and care for her clanmates during their travels.

Longbillow - 47 moons A pale gray smoke and white tom. His ghost sense made him the best option for med cat, as their starclan guide, Bluewave, was a med cat in life and is able to pass down her knowledge to her former clanmates.

Mitehaze - 42 moons A long-furred speckled dark ginger and white she-cat. Adores her clanmates! Wants to be friends with Grayswan as she recognizes her from the old housefolk nests.

Cavepaw - 8 moons A long-furred pale and white she-cat. Can be proud to a fault, and takes a dislike to Leafclaw, thinking she could make a better deputy one day.

I'll be watching tonight's episode on Twitch but I am curious to see how things will operate on Beacon with it being a VOD rather than a stream, and potentially with the ad break cut out as well. While I can appreciate the intent & it is probably a whole other can of worms to host streaming [CORRECTION apparently the Daggerheart one shot was streamed live from Beacon - that's awesome!], I hope that over time they can figure out how to best sync up the initial airing between Beacon and their other platforms. Maybe stream first & drop the VOD right after. Call me crazy but I actually prefer the streaming experience with a mandatory break in the middle! And I enjoy all viewers being around the same timestamp so it's possible to peruse the main critical role tag without seeing something jumped ahead. And with the break cut out of the version on Beacon, it would be very easy in the second half for a block of viewers to be naturally 15min ahead even if no one is deliberately skipping forward. As such, I'll probably stay out of the cr tag tonight. Happy watching, whatever platform you're on!

yall can say im a hater for this but when people post like wow fanfic writers do it all for free like no they don't. nobody makes money off this shit legally but I promise you they do it for clout, for interaction, attention is its own currency. why do you think fanfic writers always have insane intercommunity drama - because this shit can make you insane. you will have people fighting to detah over a window seat in a clown car, like yes it's a labour of love but also DO NOT underestimate the appeal of having a minor to major online following. the pay off for writing OG work is so miniscule because the chance of hitting it big is tiny amd it can take so many years just to debut with one 100k novel that will likely generate minimal attention that fanfiction is actually way better if you're more oriented towards community/following

that being said, there is a lot of people who write fic for a ton of reasons and genuine passion is one of them and I do love the creativity that is born from that and I love the little community that can build around canon with all different interpretations, styles, genres etc etc but if you ever see big name fan drama just remember that they do that for the same reason people have random influencer beef on tiktok, attention is perhaps even more powerful than money
