For no particular reason, I love Horuseth. It's my favorite ship. They're amazing. They're cute together, they're fun, they have great dynamics, I love both characters, and I love ENNEAD as a manhwa. Their story is a great narrative about messy families, the horrors of cultures of silence, finding hope in dark places, struggling with mental health, and people who are badly hurt still finding ways to be happy. And also excellent smut. I'd write more but I've already published 60 fics with Horuseth, and 57 are complete, including multiple longfics, with one fic that's over 100k words.

Frankly I do not know how Seth Haddon is not a bigger name in queer romantasy circles because Reforged/Reborn blew my fucking mind they're so good. The first one is prince and bodyguard m/m, exes-to-friends-to-lovers, with magic and political intrigue and murder plots and it's so good (and has a prequel called Crucible in process)!!! And then the second one is fated lovers m/m who don't know it, with a political magical mystery and a coup and ancient mytho-history expanding on the world-building from the first book, it's SO COOL!!!!

AND THERE'S ANOTHER IN THE SAME VERSE CALLED RECAIMED WITH A TRANSMASC & DISABLED M/M PAIR FT AN ARRESTED ARCANIST AND THE INVESTIGATOR WORKING TOWARDS HIS RELEASE, which I have only just learned about and am now VERY excited for! Plus he has ANOTHER coming out in July which is F/F SCI-FI LESBIANS HUNTING DOWN AN ABUSIVE EX-HUSBAND AI SPACE ADVENTURE!!!

All his books have beautiful art on the covers, Reforged and Reborn have audiobooks narrated by Gary Furlong who is absolutely masterful (and will also be doing the upcoming prequel Crucible as well as the one for Reclaimed, coming out on June). I've loved seeing Haddon's fantasy so I'm stoked to see how he tackles sci-fi and f/f.

ok is anyone else surprised by how easily outie!Dylan refers to his innie self as "me"?

"how did the thing go? the thing with me?"

everyone else we ever see refer to explicitly an outie or an innie (their own or anyone's) either refers to them as a seperate person, or struggles with deciding between using first and third person. why does outie!Dylan so firmly see himself and his innie as one and the same?

I think there's more to Dylan that we know.

How do they treat mortals? What is their opinion on killing them?

Both after embrace and as Beckett's student, Seth is opposed to killing anyone. When he starts learning the ropes as kindred, being adamant at staying as close to humanity as possible, Seth decides he will not harm kine in any capacity. At a certain point, deciding that feeding falls into that category as well, so he refuses to hunt. He runs on blood packs until money runs out, and then he feeds on animals until the foul taste is too much to bear. With time, inadvertently, he ends up starving himself. To the point of his first frenzy.

He can't remember who he killed. Or perhaps it was too difficult to tell. A young woman, a teenager? The body was too mangled to guess. Whoever they were, they did put up a hell of a fight. Unfortunately, not enough to get away from a very, very hungry beast. Seth is strangely kind to kine, even Beckett noticed that. Not that he goes out of his way to practice a ventrue impression, scoffing and sneering at every human in his vicinity. Beckett is well aware of kines' usefulness and that staying within the good graces of one that that can scratch your back is well advised. But that is the extent of it, an influential politic, a whistleblower, a versed historian - useful people. Seth is an odd one, almost like he doesn't distinguish between kindred or kine. Reserved but polite, cautious but helpful. Seth would roll his eyes at Beckett's teasing - a nod with a cheeky smile, pointing to an old woman carrying groceries like her life depended on it. But as much as he was joking, it wouldn't be a surprising sight if it were to happen. Something he'd better quickly knock out of the fledglings head, for both their sakes. Seth is opposed to killing anyone. There are people who are inconvenient. Hardly his problem when there is always the option to walk away. Then there are opponents, murderers, robbers, criminals, and all kinds of evildoers; when working for the Prince he hid or ran. First, do no harm. Later, with Beckett's guidance, the only thing that's changed is the swiftness and skilfulness with which he removes himself from potential conflict. Then there are innocents who found themselves at the wrong place at the wrong time. Most of all, if it was purely Seth's fault for breaking the masquerade. There are persistent Inquisition agents, valuing glory and honour above their life. Then his hands are tied, by proxy Beckett's are too. Seth can kill, he has before, he should. There is really no room for human morality in this life, but he hangs onto this silly idea just a little longer. It will be a while still before he stops taking advantage of Beckett's experience and his bones-deep contempt for disturbing his peace of mind.
