Hi!!! This is mostly an art blog because I want to post my art online more but there will prob be some reblogs as well, planning to also use it as a catalog of cool furry art :} I follow and like from @minecraftpissblock !
I'm a dragon from northern Appalachia and I love drawing, sewing, playing guitar, ecology, the outdoors, all kinds of creatures, and my lesbian boyfriends <3
My art tag is #dragon draws & my tag for art that isn't mine is #others' stuff !!!!!

if it's good enough for you, then it deserves to be made. don't let anyone else decide if your story is worth it or not.

I TOTALLY agree, love for what you want to express is the TRUE key to improving your art!
The whole point of my art is to express my ideas, so what good is it if I never actually draw the things I love for fear of them not being "good enough"? And guess what? In just a few months, I've unintentionally improved my art in at least 3 ways just by drawing like 20+ pages of characters I liked in silly situations!
This is definitely some of my favorite art advice! Thank you so much for sharing this!

advice i think we should tell children is that when adults say stuff like ‘now that i’m an adult i get really excited about stuff like coffee tables and bathrooms and rugs etc’ they don’t mean ‘and now i don’t care about blorbo and squimbus from my childhood tv shows anymore’ bc your average adult still loves all the same pop culture stuff they always did; they just have a greater appreciation for the mundane as well. growing up just means you can enjoy life twice as much now. you can get really excited about a new stuffed animal AND about a new kitchen sponge. peace and love

is that piece of media actually bad, or is it just not following the blueprint you projected onto it? is that work actually not good, or are you just demanding something from it that is absolutely antithetical to its themes, genre, tone, and narrative goal? is that story actually poorly written, or do you just dislike that it is not the specific things you wanted from it that it never set out to be, never was, and never is going to become? is it actually bad, or is it actually well-executed and you just dislike the story it chose to be because it isn't catering to your specific desires and expectations?

please consider also:
forced to torture your friend when you're working your day job that they don't know about as a bad guy and they instantly assume you're undercover and try to signal to you that it's okay and they know what you have to do
because they just believe in you that much they can't imagine that you could actually be a bad guy
and it would be so easy to go along with that lie
ohhh we love a good “forced to torture your friend while undercover as a bad guy” don’t we
like. when you meet their eyes and you both know you have to do it and you have to do it well

One of my favourite questions for figuring out a character’s motivations is which qualities they most fear being assigned to them. Are they afraid (consciously or unconsciously) of being seen as stupid? Ungrateful? Weak? Incompetent? Lazy? Cowardly? Intimidating? Like they actually care? etc.
It’s such a fun way to explore into who they are, why they do what they do, what they don’t do out of fear, and how they might be affected by the events of the story. And I love when characters have negative motivations—trying to avoid something (in this case, being seen a particular way) as much as they’re trying to achieve a goal.
