Another VTM game down the hatch. Here’s my playthrough in summary:

Can u guess what my favorite clan is 🙃

Galeb ended up being my favorite PC. His powers were inexplicably weak for gaming mechanic reasons but he had the best personality. Emem comes in second with my favorite storyline. Leysha’s available actions were surprisingly badass for her premise but the obvious-adult-playing-a-child by doing a fake lisp for Halsey was just so annoying during every single one of Leysha’s scenes and in the grand scheme of things I didn’t really care about her plot that much. Getting screwed over, manipulated, & lied to by the Camarilla is just Tuesday.

Overall I liked the game okay; I actually do like that the primary mechanism of the game is snooping through files & spying on people bc that’s cinematic realism for the world of Vampire the Masquerade, babey. However, some of the puzzles were straight up ridiculous, tedious nonsense & it was kind of annoying how often the game would set you up to perform a time-consuming task that amounted to nothing.

7.5/10 or something idk

just a little appreciation post for scar and his spinny transitions

I've always thought they were so cool since he started doing them in the start of season 9, but being honest it was slightly obvious where the cut was even without slowing the video down.

Watching his ep 3 season 10 and even going frame by frame it's difficult to tell where the cut is (highly recommend going and looking for yourself)

I know it's just a "simple" match cut but it's just so cool seeing scars improvement over time

#very vague ff16 spoilers in tags #mixed feelings about certain aspects of the game #and by mixed i mean bad #but overall i had a lot of fun #and the game also had some of the coolest moments i've played through in like. any video game #i dont usually replay video games but i will be replaying this one on ng+ when the dlc comes out specifically for those moments #i cannot emphasize enough how out of the world cool those moments are #also the game is very fun!! big fan of the parry system. dodging is a little too easy #also ff16 has dion. goty just for that. love my boy #(guy who is weak to every character trope that dion is)#(AND he's gay)#(AND he's a DRAGOON)#(AND HE CAN TURN INTO A DRAGON!! BAHAMUT!!!!!)#pip speaks #also. i didn't make use of these but the game does make itself very accessible #both by having an annotated subtitle option for hard of hearing folks #but also by having an option to make the gameplay very easy for people who are there just for story reasons #which makes me happy :]#one week until the ost comes out and i can blast my head clean off my shoulders >:)#soken beloved i love his video game music so much

#the master's only got it up for trade or purchase which whatever but LUCKILY for ME they uploaded CLIPS OF SOME OF THE SONGS.#did you know originally elle didnt tell emmett what happened at the end of legally blonde????? thats CRAZY.#theres a little bit before the remix they showed in the video (for ME!) where he confronted her and told her hed expect her at the trial #i overall prefer the broadway vers (a little less accusatory) but i can appreciate aspects of the tryout vers.#in legally blonde he doesnt do his little love confession! dont enjoy the miscommunication though or his 'dont you care??' line #what i DO think interesting is how in the tryout vers legally blonde shes like 'i cant be legally blonde..' while bw is 'just let me be' et #different framing! thats intriguing! i really enjoy that framing actually!#and you know what i DO LIKE??? elles goes 'goodbye' and heads behind her door and theres this swell of dramatic orchestral music #and the door turns and. ah! its very very good. if youve got a stage that can rotate then use it to its full advantage!#i think that bits cool and emmett talking to elle before the remix may have paved the pacing a little smoother but nevertheless.#i still prefer open communication and him. yknow. not inadvertently blaming her for her own reaction sort of.

Aha, I'm less in the know than you think!! But I can assure you there IS a new trigun, trigun stampede, a reboot which seems to have different takes on some of the characters and themes!! I've not seen it yet and don't plan to for a while (I'm trying very hard to be kind to my brain and at least let the og settle in my head as I read the manga), but what I've heard sounds super cool!!

#in honesty i find the art style a little offputting (it's 3d and i'm sure i'd get used to it given the chance #but rn it feels like looking at a video game)#and i've heard mixed reviews on the character portrayals-- mainly that everyone seems younger and ww is edgier?#my main problem is they REMOVED MILLY #and replaced her with SOME GUY #WHAT COULD POSSIBLY JUSTIFY THAT. HUH #ahem. anyway. from the analysis posts i've been shamelessly reading it has some REALLY cool takes on gendered trauma #and places a new spin on the lore and vash and knives' relationship which all sounds incredible #and yeah overall reviews seem very positive!!#i'd totally encourage you to take a stab at it if you please (and maybe let me know what you think if you do!!) :))#asks #thetragicallynerdy #kay talks #oh god PLEASE don't let this maintag i'm pretty sure there's enough filler tags at the front #trigun #tristamp #oh wait addition!! i did scrub through tristamp ep1 just to see what it was like and it was very different from what i was expecting #my main takeaway (gleaned all from analysis posts) is that if i'd watched tristamp first i'd be ALL FUCKING OVER IT #but since being a bitchy purist is one of my favorite things to do i might not like it as much just in comparison #it really does sound like a good story though!!!!
