I think if publishers want to cut corners with printer costs they should go old school and start requesting that books be printed with uncut pages again. I just realized ppl who don’t handle books from like 1860-1960 (approx) have possibly never come across one. Picture flipping thru a romance thriller and then realizing pages 380 and 381 are unopenable bc they’re still one piece of paper joined at the top edge and you must claw them apart with your bare hands. Enrichment. Like those peanut butter dog puzzle toys.

Photos of me, my wife, and my daughters have been circulating online. Pages like @Y/n.fan/page and @British.Press posted content about me and my family even tho my wife asked for the pictures to be taken down. They're still on the internet.

I deleted social media because it was toxic. I'm now forced to create an account to speak up about the constant invasion of privacy. I think my wife asked it nicely, and her simple request was not heard. Y/n is more patient than me, but if I see another pictures of my daughters online, I swear I'll sue that person.

Notes: This is for @angelofsmalldeath-codeine, she requested fluff and this is what came forth. It's sweet-ish. I hope you like it, my bad if it's too somber. 🫣

The day before was always difficult. It didn’t matter if it was him leaving or you, the both of you circled each other and tried not to stray too far away from one another. This time it was your turn, it was another three days for another small work conference that could have been over Zoom but the company was stressing about being ‘in-person’ and ‘using the buildings they were paying for.’ The last part you and your coworkers figured is what the suits above you were getting out of having everyone meet in person. The only so-called perk was travel, but it was rare you got to see anywhere you traveled. 

It was the eve of when you were supposed to leave, you’d gone to bed earlier since you know your flight leaves early. The company always tried to book employees on the same plane to keep track of everyone. It’s annoying, but they’re paying, not you. Sleep isn’t catching up to you and you lie awake in the bed, looking up at the ceiling. The weight shifts on the bed and Dieter slides into bed next to you, curling his arms around you as well as a leg. He engulfs your body with his and sighs. He’d rather you didn’t go. Have a lazy day with him as he’s in between press tours and roles. A welcome lull before the next job starts. Your hand snakes to his soft curls, lightly scratching his head, your lips meet his forehead and curl into a smile. 

The talented Dieter Bravo is adorable wrapped around you like this, making his own cocoon to try and encase you with his emotions. Despite playing varied characters and bringing them to life from the pages of a script, he still is poor with his words. It’s alright, you know what he means. He doesn’t need to say it. A half turn allows for your arm to snake under his head and your other hand to pull his head toward your chest. Dieter would say that he loves your breasts which is true, but more than that, you’ve seen him as he listens to your heart beat. 

Making sure you’re there. That you’re with him. That he hasn’t lost you.

His eyelids flutter open and then he jumps like we’ve stabbed him. “Aa!”

Finnick and I fall back in the sand, laughing our heads off. Every time we try to stop, we look at Peeta’s attempt to maintain a disdainful expression and it sets us off again. - page 381

Dave is a cool guy, yknow? A cool dude whose default face is complete neutrality, who doesn't show emotions besides anger, the only acceptable feeling for men. If he's feeling something positive, he'll show it with a nod of the head or a twinkle of the sunglasses, not-

HEY. WHAT'S THAT SMILE ON YOUR FACE, COOL GUY????

What's fun about meeting Dave is that we get to see him talk to all three of his friends in pretty quick succession, while with John it was far more spaced out. Dave loves John so much but I think he kind of talks down to him, and with Rose, it's the witty banter of equals. With GG, Dave is the one who seems lost in the conversation. GG throws Dave for a loop multiple times, and also blatantly makes fun of him with 'bro! hehehe' and 'feeling cool today? mr cool guy?' I didn't expect Dave to like this, and it's not obvious in the conversation that he does, but that tiny smile kinda says it all. I can honestly see these two becoming my favorite dynamic of the four main characters.

We get more GG lore too! They have a 'goofy' fetch modus which I'm super curious about. It turns out they have a granddad who's a big presence in their life, not a sister. They also have a pet who TG refers to as a 'devilbeast', and who is hard to feed and can overpower GG. Could be an unruly, badly trained dog, or perhaps GG lives on a farm and this is some kind of farm animal? Or an exotic pet their grandad attempted to tame (since he's apparently a 'total badass') but who shouldn't really be kept as a pet.

Also GG might have some psychic powers, or at least believe that they do. Which definitely puts their earlier conversations with John in a new light - instead of urging him to get the package now because they're excited to see his reaction, which is what I originally assumed, they're just emphasizing how important the package is, so that he'll know opening it is a priority if and when he finds it later.

The TG lore we get is.... less delightful. He mends his window with gaffa tape, which makes it objectively less functional as a window, definitely can't help with the heat, and doesn't even cover up the full hole. Like, just put a poster over it. More effective for less effort. Also his 'takedown' of monster movie tropes on p.386 is identical to 'guy who hates musicals because people sing in them' and is just exhausting to read. Also he thinks a white puppet ventriloquist rapper is the coolest shit ever, which is inexcusable. Basically, he needs to hang out with GG more so that they can chill him out and make him more tolerable.

I missed John so much. I've been thinking for a couple days about how I miss John, and here he is! The oil in his room has gotten significantly worse compared to p.253, which is a shame, because John is a fairly neat and clean kid when his sylladex isn't totally ruining his life.

But I guess this little harlequin beastie doesn't care about that? I love this thing's design, it's so fun. It looks so angry but somehow so incapable of causing any real harm that isn't oil based. What a silly hat for something that wants to be intimidating so bad. This will probably confirm to John once and for all that clowns are bad.

We've seen a couple other jet black, #000000 creatures so far. The Wayward Vagabond, linked from p.271, has smaller and rounder eyes but the same clawed hands. And the members of the Midnight Crew, seen on p.328-331, are visibly shinier (including their clothes?) with no visible teeth, but the rightmost two have those same elongated horizontal white eyes. Notably, all of these characters wear distinctive headgear. They all have really different roles in the story, so this could just be a shorthand for characters outside of the main four and their families, but it would be cool if some or all of them were connected.

Natalia Knight aka Nocturna, voiced by Mckenna Grace, is a featured foe in the new animated show ‘Batman: Caped Crusader’. All 10 episodes will stream on Prime Video August 1st.

Created by Doug Moench and Don Newton, the character Nocturna debuted in the pages of 1983’s Detective Comics #529 as Natasha Knight, an astronomer at Gotham City Observatory who, after an accident by a radioactive laser resulting in all of her skin pigment drained from her body, decides to turn to a life of crime to live luxuriously as she once did growing up with her adoptive and corrupt father. She turned her sights onto Bruce Wayne and his public battle for custody of orphan Jason Todd (the second Robin the Boy Wonder), scheming to gain custody of the child herself in order to force Bruce into marriage so she can live the high life with the billionaire in Wayne Manor (Detective #543).

Thanks to the manipulation of Gotham’s Mayor, Natasha wins custody of Jason for a brief period of time (1984’s Batman #377 to Batman #381) all while seducing Batman as Nocturna thanks to her pheromone perfume, similar to Poison Ivy. They share several embraces in the dark Gotham moonlight (1985’s Detective #556) with Batman feeling intoxicated whenever he is around the temptress. Nocturna realized, however, that Jason and Bruce could never trust her, so she gave custody to Bruce. After a violent confrontation with Catwoman and Batman resulting in her being badly wounded, she was presumed dead but resurfaced years later as part of the Injustice League causing chaos in Gotham and the Suicide Squad in Infinite Frontier.🦇📚📺
