While discussing Arthur’s very violent upheaval into kingmanship with @rowanmerlin, the topic of just how difficult that must’ve been for him came up, and how little the show gives us any hint of it.
We should’ve seen an entire season-wide arc of Arthur struggling to hold down the emotional fort, whilst the idea of never being held by Uther again played like old television static in the back of his head. We should’ve seen cuts of him flexing his fingers nervously before council meetings, or sleepwalking the majority of days (gaining notoriety as the castle’s phantom) and ending up curled into a ball at the foot of Uther’s effigy. We should’ve seen him waking up early to train his new recruits, and then having Leon gently turn him away as he’s no longer needed (leading to him sleeping later, because it feels like his life has no purpose beyond itineraries anymore).
We see a little of his emotional flagellation, “You're wrong, Merlin. I don't need anyone. I can't afford that luxury.” but not all the rest, when it came to all the princely duties he once mainlined, and I think that’s a real shame.
#prince arthur -> king arthur would’ve been a transition as earth-shattering as pangea’s split 200 million years ago#and ill never shut up abt it#also i LOVE U fran for digging the idea between our shared brain cells cause now ill have to sit graveside forever!!!#(and yes— arthur does train his inner circle knights in s4-possibly 5#but those are his inner circle knights! not the wheat from the chaff seperating duties he was doing for the newbie recruits in s1-2)#(so the task is not as ‘rewarding’ so to speak)#arthur pendragon#arthur thots go brrrrrr

10 minutes into the fabric store: everything around me will continue to pollute the earth long after humans are gone and this ring of plastic minion beads will see the new pangea

In honor of ghost files’ spirit week, I have made a cryptid!! Kinda bummed that I’m not good at drawing, but I’m still proud of the idea! Here it is:
My cryptid is called the bone spider.
Living deep in the Appalachian mountains, they present themselves as a mixture of bones put together, held by fleshy strings. Typically having eight legs and a main body. BUT not all spiders are the same. The reason as to why is because they don’t actually have bones themselves, they are fleshy sacs that wriggle around on eight limbs. They steal the bones from certain dead animals and attach it onto themselves to give themselves better support, hence the name, bone spiders. Since they can pick and choose their bones, they can be up to 5 feet tall/wide (the largest recorded bone spider was the size of a large elk)
They aren’t completely dangerous, if you encounter one in the wild, just stay calm and don’t make sudden movements that might scare them, and you’ll be fine. If they are cornered, then they will defend themselves.
When threatened, they vibrate their bones together, sometimes to the point of cracking. Which mimics a noise similar to a rattle snake, just deeper and slower.
When defending itself, it oozes an acidic fluid that, when in contact with skin, can create second degree burns and rashes on the skin. Pair this with it slashing a particularly sharp bone, can lead the fluid to get into your blood stream. When this happens, death is imminent.
It is best to avoid this creature. Though it isn’t hard to, due to the fact that they live so far away from society, tucked into the oldest mountain range in the world. Maybe they came from a time before isopods and dinosaurs roamed the earth, they might be the key to a life unknown by earth’s earliest creatures. Or maybe they’re just little fleshy dudes who like bones, who knows.
That’s my creation!! I’ve always had a love for Appalachian based mountain creatures since the Appalachias are the oldest mountain range in the world, they were around when Pangea still existed!! (Can you tell I love geography?)
My thought process was basically, “what’s the freakiest animal you can make out of bones”
Anyways hope yall like it!

Current favorite cherik fics - pt2
part 1 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6 | part 7 | part 8
See what I mean when I say 'current'? lol anyway, heres some more. I will probably keep updating this every other week or so
To Know You Forever by sadbigchungus (Star Wars AU!!!)
High-raking Mandalorian Erik Lehnsherr is, much to his chagrin, assigned on a protection detail to solidify the new Jedi/Mandalorian alliance. His charge? None other than renowned scientist Jedi Master Charles Xavier. What he thinks will be a standard mission quickly devolves into something where the stakes are much higher, with the fate of Mandalore and the Republic hanging in the balance.
The stars incline us, they do not bind us by ikeracity, Pangea (top tier stuff, highly recommend - mind the tags!!!)
Intergalactic Federation pilot Lieutenant Charles Xavier is assigned last-minute to a high profile mission: transporting over two thousand prison inmates from an old and overfilled prison complex to a newer, higher-capacity prison stronghold located on the outer reaches of the galaxy. Just as he's settling down for a long and uneventful ride, things take a turn for the worse after the inmates riot and stage a hostile takeover of the ship, leaving Charles to find himself at the complete mercy of cold-blooded killers and facing the chilling prospect that he might not ever make it back home alive.
Special Topics in Mutant Studies by populuxe
The trouble with Charles Xavier isn’t just that he teaches genetics and holds terrible views about mutant rights—it’s also becoming increasingly clear that everyone but Erik seems to love him.
The Eldest of the Gods by lapetitesinge
It's 1928, and sixteen-year-old Charles Xavier is intrigued by the new boy joining him at Eton College. He's thrilled to realize that they may be alike in more ways than one, but there's more standing between them than he can possibly guess.
Playing House by ClarkeStetler, Goosenik
Erik Lehnsherr has been 'fighting for mutant rights' for the last couple years. Some might call it terrorism, but those people were narrow-minded. Unfortunately, this means that when Magda Maximoff died, no one was able to locate him to let him know that his children were without a guardian. Charles Xavier was selected as their foster parent instead, and had been doing an excellent job for the past year. Erik is back now and has no intention of being separated from his children, but working together for the kids is easier said than done. In a different situation— some anonymous bar in some overpopulated city, perhaps— Erik would absolutely have been interested. He was slender and looked about Erik’s age, but his eyes took up the majority of his face and were almost alarmingly blue. His dark curls looked like they were made for a hand to fist in. His anger was nearly palpable, sparking off him in waves that Erik could physically feel. Under any other circumstance, he’d be attracted, would have immediately started things working to get the pretty little Englishman back to his place. Not this circumstance. “You will not,” the Brit snarled at Erik, “Not be taking custody of my children.”

hii :) do you have any headcanon treats abt the earth ghouls ? general hcs , relationships woth other ghouls/papas , anything would be cool !!
i am quite fond of earth ghouls and i think they are underrepresented in the fandom (as drummers usually are, to be fair) so i am elated to write this for you anon!!!
here are some tidbits about each earth ghoul individually :) if you need a guide for which ghouls are which, here's my very handy ghoul dictionary!
MOUNTAIN
coming in at a whopping 7'3, mountain is the tallest of all the earth ghouls! though his lankiness and sweet disposition makes up for most of the intimidation one may feel when interacting with him.
he's genuinely well liked by all of the ghouls! of course, there's a very strong bond throughout the era IV-V ghoul lineup, but you could say he's the glue holding them together.
they often come to him for cuddle piles cause he's warm and fuzzy. it's not usually intentional - one ghoul will end up snuggling with him, and then another, and then... he's buried under at least 9 other ghouls.
when he and copia first met, he could tell copia was petrified of him! so he always tried to be as kind as possible. eventually the cardinal grew to appreciate him for his determination, though those big teeth will always throw him off a little.
speaking of teeth, he has a big smile :)
DIATOMITE
diatomite is a pretty work oriented ghoul, but not to the point where he stresses out about it. he doesn't care THAT much.
...but he also doesn't care that much about his "coworkers" either. he was in the band for a little bit before he realized it was honestly... kind of annoying to be on stage like that.
he did make some friends: him and chair get along well. otherwise, he was okay with not intruding on the relationships that had already been formed.
he also didn't really get to know terzo very well, but a little part of him is glad. the man is a bit too exuberant for his taste.
he's happy to do work at the clergy! he really likes arithmetics.
PEBBLE
pebble is, of course, the shortest of the earth ghouls. he fabricates his height often, but he's really 5' tall. poor guy.
his relationship with the other ghouls was always a little rocky. he got picked on a lot (alpha always said it was "funny" when he got angry), but at the end of the day, they were his friends! he thinks. right?
one time he was lifted in the air by his ankles by a specific asshole-ish fire ghoul and he thought he was gonna die.
pebble is unique in that he spent time with both secondo and terzo when he was on stage. if you asked him who he preferred, he'd say secondo... but that's cause he's too scared of him to say otherwise. :'(
he's got a few battle scars from his time in hell, before he was summoned! he's missing a tooth and there's a chunk taken out of the tip of his tail.
PANGEA
pangea is... well, he's secluded, let's go with that.
as a result, he has virtually no relationship with any other ghouls. he did not care for his bandmates, he does not care for the new ghouls being summoned for the band. he deliberately has separated himself from them.
the only thing he ever cared about was working for primo. he admired primo. a lot. in a normal way. yes.
when secondo took primo's place as frontman of the band, he did try to stay for a bit, just to spread the word of the almighty deceiver. but he really disliked secondo, actually. his foolishness and poor work ethic pissed him off to no end. so he went back to the clergy!
anyways, he's really big and also soft and has a deep deep voice and i like him <3

The Coastal Empire & The Appalachian Mountains
I was talking to @moonandstarlightsposts and @thegoldenlittlerose about Desmond's worldbuilding and wanted to see how I can expand on it. There's this whole thing about Pandyssia and Oly Valyria, but that's for another time, in another post.
Now, I'm no expert in Western geography, but the hilarious and talented @silly-lovestruck-em taught me an interesting tidbit. So here's the map of Desmond's world:
As you can see, there's the Empire! And I've recently discovered that the Empire rests on THE APPALACHIAN MOUNTAIN.
You know, the mountains that remained untouched since Pangea? Where do people hear voices in them!?
My theory is that after the Cataclysm, the mountain was terraformed just enough for Gang Leader!Desmond and Gorgeous to build the foundation of what would be the Coastal Empire. And when the construction begins, people tend to go missing...
So imagine during Castin's Chapter 5, Part 2, where they had to walk through the snowstorm and when the Baroness and Anri could hear voices despite the howling wind and Castin's men shouting about, the women immediately knew what's up.
I just love horror sprinkled throughout the worldbuilding!
Also, on a side note, Em enlightened me on an interesting note:
The Bermuda Triangle is also there beside the Empire.
I am now cooking some horror lores that are tied to Imperial traditions as we speak.
Man, no wonder Castin doesn't want his wife or kids to be in the Empire 😅 place is haunted AF.
#monotony's rambling#desmond asmr#headcanons#worldbuilding#castin hammer#baroness (listener)#bigshout to em and rose and moonbug for brainstorming with me#and em for highlighting the map!

We have 5 babies here from Toast and Zevran who are looking for homes! They're unsexed, but eating well on crickets and pangea chow. Shoot me an ask if interested! The 4 brindles (Possibly tiger, the pattern goes quite far) with more stark markings are $125 plus shipping (morph market shipping averages around $30, won't be shipped until spring due to cold weather) The 1 brindle with the reduced markings is $100 plus shipping :)

Spectember D5: Sexual Selection
Through the different timelines, there is an alternative world that witnessed a deep ice age in the Permian caused by a prominent shift of the continent crust moving Pangea down into the south pole and blocking ocean currents, worsening the life conditions and turning most of the continent in a tundra, in the aftermath when the position of Pangea returned to something like its original position life was changed greatly, as unlike in our timeline earth was not suffocated in fire but got cold so a new variety of animals developed and survived.
In the oceans, Holocephali had a resurgence post Permian mega ice age, as their groups did not suffer horrible, things like Petalodontiforms, Eugeneodontids and other did not perish, but then there were other more varied forms evolving too, some sample are within Chimaeriforms which they in a better spot now that they aren’t relegated to the deep ocean but as diverse surface dwellers, some groups started to exploit their clasper structure in ways that would make them look almost unfitting for survival, this as a response of sexual selection. From there, a new group evolved, the Clasperantlers (Delirocephalia)
They are short body forms, small caudal fins but with large pectoral fins, these have the peculiarity that male claspers now have become these super elaborated ornamental structures that works mostly for exhibition or fight, depending of the species. They derive from ornamental structures around the orbits and the whole dorsal fin spine that developed into an articulated claw-like structure, something resembling the ornamental spines of Symmoriiformes but capable of movement.
The most common species is the Pentanichecephale monstruorum, small in size, about 30 cm in length, females look pretty much average to a chimaera with short tail, with a small dorsal fin, but the male in the other hand possess an ostentatious arrangement of 5 long horn-like structures, being 2 pairs growing around the orbit, with the middle 5th one the derived dorsal fin. They tend to be moderate in size but when mating season approaches, they start to grow in size, being covered in layers of dead tissue and useful against other males, they can break and regenerate, males often have to stand multiple fights before mating with a female which can hold with the 5th horn.

Ender man variants (overworld and nether)
Here is the first batch of enderman variants! Ill be giving average block heights and all that ^^
Here is your standard enderman, found in the overworld. About 3-4 blocks tall. They can teleport and are harmed by water
The cave ender, an underground variant of the common ender. 6 blocks tall. Due to exposure to skulk, these enders are blind but have exceptional hearing and smell. Unable to teleport but can teleport other things to them, aka what they hear closest to them. They are not hurt by small amounts of water. Usually docile
The first of the nether variants, The Magma or basalt ender. 4 to 5 blocks tall. Closely resembling ghasts things enders enjoy the hot lava baths of the basalt delta. Unable to teleport but completely immune to fire. They can shoot smaller versions of a ghasts fireballs and are harmed by water.
(inspired by destiny from @pangea-the-enderman)
Crimson enderman are the largest enderman variant at around 7.5 to 8 blocks tall. These enders are very territorial and are often in disputes with piglins. They are bulkier and stronger then the average ender and can breathe fire. They are immune to all fire damage. They also have a chitinous armor on their body, evolving from being shot at by piglins. They often steal from bastions and are seen wearing makeshift golden armor or using gold swords.
the last of the first batch, warped enders are the most elusive ender type and are usually drawn out with shiny objects. They are about 6 blocks tall and have a peculiar symbiotic relationship with the warped fungi around them. They are able to mimic any sounds they are familiar with, and often use it to hunt. they are incredibly friendly and like piglins, they trade!
Note- all of these variants are intelligent and have their own types of societies. Please ask me about em ^^

Took me long enough but heres the sequel to the september cutting room floor. Ending this series for good. Staring in order by their number Starting with the entries made for 2022
1. A mammaloid alien native to a dangerously cold planet iconic for it’s red and blue plantlife. They are skittish herbivores. Grazing along its planet’s “grass” by grabbing handfuls of plants with its oral tentacles and brought it to a mouth located in a hollow space in between its oral tentacles and head. And would sport vibrant patterns to blend in with it’s equally colorful forests
2. Originally a suggestion by my friend Lemuel. They were a descendent of pill bugs/roly polies that evolved powered flight. They soared through forest understories with three sets of flattened legs and held onto branches with their hind pairs of limbs. In spite of the radical change to their movement, they would still act and eat like any other Armadillidiid Isopod. Only now they could get to their food much faster
Now onto the entries made for 2023.
3. An alien predator that has all of our senses, but none of the familiar organs. They see the world with an organic sonar dish so powerful it could see colors as good as any eye. They smell and feel heat through heat pits on the sides of their body. They hear sound through sensitive whiskers on the feet of their hydraulic legs. And they eat and taste with a liquivorous proboscis. And on top of their unique sensory organs and a testament to their overwhelming success, they are also freakishly intelligent. Not fully sophont, but still able to run circles around earth’s smartest life aside from humans.
4. An orbital view of a carbon planet. A hypothetical world where it and the rest of it’s star system formed with much more carbon in its composition than standard oxygen. In place of water would be oceans and clouds of hydrocarbons. And nestled right in between the crust and mantle would be a hundred-kilometer-thick layer of pure diamond. Sadly how life would evolve and take advantage of such a world was never conceptualized before spectember ended. Maybe someday this idea can be covered again and be brought to justice.
5. A descendant of azhdarchid pterosaurs from the same world (or at least set of timelines) as the aforementioned Dinosauroids. They live in hierarchical herds where the strongest males have ownership over the herd’s female members. They are also extremely violent, capable of killing their own predators if a hunt goes slightly wrong, And changes in power often escalate into bloody fights that could end in death. Some members are even willing to kill their herd mates' children if it means they get a chance to continue their bloodline.
6. A descendant of the golden snub-nosed monkey that has evolved to mimic the violet deathhead from my last official september post. Their fur is a speckled brown to blend in with the trees it lives on. The structure mimicking the deathhead sail is derived from nasal flaps once used to attract mates. The primate’s blue skin paired with clusters of veins within the nasal flaps create the iconic purple hue. High concentrations of melanin along the tip of the nasal flaps mimic the black stripes. And even the orange spots are recreated by rows of unusually thin skin refract sunlight the same way the webbing between our fingers turns orange as a close light source passes through it
7. A dinosauroid microbiologist who lived in a time when their people colonized the solar system. A Chia’J-di ecologist who lived in a time when their species’ industrial revolution provoked an equally powerful environmentalist counterculture, the globe they are holding is earth 500 million years in the future and long after pangea ultima split, the version of earth their species hails from. And a masculine female human sophontologist who lived in the aztec empire during it’s height. All pose for a picture. Despite their different walks of life and origins of separate timelines. They are all heads of research within the earth division of the Inter-Timeline Evolutionist Union, better known as the ITEU
The ITEU is a non-profit, nongovernmental secret organization spanning the entire multiverse. With the goal of documenting and archiving the evolution of every species and civilization that has ever lived and will ever live across every possible timeline. Their employee count ranges in the quantifiable infinity, and the division of a single planet is still big enough to utterly dwarf the largest and most technologically advanced civilizations ever documented. And their membership program accepts anyone from individual sophonts like you and I, galaxy spanning gestalt super-intelligence, to even celestial deities that create their own worlds and galaxies and seed them with life.
The symbol above the heads of the earth division is the logo of the ITEU as a whole. Surprisingly very little is known about the meaning behind it. Theories range anywhere from it representing the multiverse as a stream of timelines. The evolutionary tree of life, the infinite fractal-like scale of life and the multiverse. To possibly even the form of the ITEU’s founding species. There’s a very good reason why the logo is a mystery to all. The ITEU has some pretty big flaws in spite of their noble goal. The organization is very secretive, even to it’s own members. Nobody outside the ITEU knows it even exists. The organization’s founders and early history remain a complete mystery. And despite its multiversal span being common knowledge. no one truly knows the full scale of this organization or the multiverse.
They are also very non-interventionist, and will stop at nothing to not leave a mark on the natural world and make any irreversible changes to the course of time. Even if it means never sharing their knowledge with the multiverse’s most advanced civilizations. Allowing interdimensional atrocities to keep going despite having the power to stop it. Or even keeping their own members from ever returning home. This whole entry was meant to be a bigger grand finale to 2023’s spectember instead of the Batesian mimicry ring or the neurodivergent posthumans. And was meant to be a meta look at 2023’s entries and the genre of speculative evolution as a whole before spiraling out into its own thing entirely.
(i apologize if the aztec woman appears culturally and/or racially insensitive, if anyone who's an expert on aztec culture wants to give feedback I'd appreciate it a lot i want to improve more on illustrating other cultures)

THROWBACK EXPO!
@creators-club
For my THROWBACK EXPO, I’ll be talking about an old WIP story series I did with my real life friend (Name) back in Summer of 2013.
“The Mystery Solvers” series started back in Summer of 2013 where the idea I had was originally for a RP (RolePlay) with my friend, but the more we talked about it through email, the more it was meant to be in story form rather than RP form, so Book 1 “The Secret Spies” came first.
The story itself took place in a fantasy world called Pangea where teens and very young adults spies had to protect their secret lair from villains.
The inspiration for this story was after I’ve watched “The Avengers” (2012) with my other friends.
10+ years later, I’m adding my OCS and places names from the series into my stories since we NEVER finished the series after Book 4. Even though Books 5 and 6 were planned while Book 7 and so were mentioned in the ideas, but never got around to them.
Opening Scene Snippet: They were pure spies at birth, passed by many generations from their Spy Families. They can stay calm While others scream and they can stay up all night while others sleep.

Unwritten Characters #5: Lunorro
This one was brought to my attention when someone got me to mention it after they watched the Solarra video.
In the conflict known as Landstar vs. Gypsia, the Overqueen sought out people whom she thought would become Star Captains. She found and gathered 1,000 people from across the Landstar and sent them all in to Grande Subminium.
Out of all 1,000 people, only 3 became star captains. This is not about them though. It's about the other 997.
Among those 997, one of them did something during their tests that the gods who made them, Rovath and Sindora, did not expect.
Again, this is on the realm if Impossibilities, so there's no way to truly describe what happened.
The individual who did this unexpected thing would become Solarra, the first of the reforged celestials.
Rovath and Sindora saw to it in their great wisdom, to create a new race with these remaining 996 sacrificed beings in honor of the one who subverted their expectations. The one who saved their lives from oblivion. And they placed them throughout time and space across the universe.
Solarra was places on the planet, New Pangea, where she would be found by a group of human colonists and taken in by Gilvar Morosa. She was given the ability to move time forward, but never backward.
Hecalite and Fellrin, the twin reforged celestials, would be thrown a couple years prior to a planet known as Victoria, where they'd be taken in by the Emprica, Lexian Fifeth. Hecalite would be gifted the power of flight, while Fellrin would be gifted the power of unlimited strength.
Lunorro could be seen as an opposite to Solarra. He was a blue reforged celestial with the power to reverse time, but never to travel forward. And to top it off, he would be placed at the moment of Armageddon Ina disastrous timeline that no one could ever survive.
He grew up with a family that was surviving at the edge of an apocalypse.
This would not be his first family. In fact, he would have many of the exact same family as his power allowed him to jump timelines and reconnect with those in other verses.
But as he grew up, he recognized that he couldn't keep going like this, constantly saving his family from doom again and again. He knew in his heart that something would give. So, he decided to fix all of it. He would go further back in time than he ever had before to create a better future for the people he loved so much. Or at least, he'd find a timeline where they were all perfectly fine. Of course by doing this, he runs the risk of never being able to see them again, after all, he can never travel forward in te, only backward. So he began his journey through time.
Lunorro saved many people and worlds beyond his own as he went back further and further, but he came to a certain mentality as he was going backward. He was always the one fixing everyone's mistakes which led him to believe that the only one who can't make mistakes is him. He can just redo them if he doesn't like what he sees, nullifying him having made any mistakes in the first place.
Eventually, his time travelling would bring him to Solarra, his polar opposite. Lunorro and Solarra would time travel together to save New Pangea from a giant war robot hiding in the planet's moon. There, they would discover that the event was a fixed point that couldn't be averted no matter how hard they tried. Lunorro realized that in order to fix it, they'd need to travel back further and further than ever before, but Solarra had cold feet. She came to realize that, trying to fix a mistake like this would never work. At least, not perfectly. Lunorro was unwilling to accept this answer and tried to force Solarra into traveling back with him. This led to a fist fight that would have them punching each other across time and space. Back to the beginning of the universe and all the way to Lunorro's original Armageddon.
Eventually, the two would tire out and find themselves back where they started. Lunorro, traumatized by seeing his family suffer again would hate and blame Solarra for denying him what he needs to save everyone.
Solarra would also blame herself for what happened. She had no intention of bringing back Lunorro's past affiliations. At the same time, she would know in her heart that this is not the answer.
The 2 would then part. Sore, but mutual. Lunorro would continue travelling back in time and Solarra would travel forward. Unbenounced to Lunorro, he had given her a gift before leaving. The ability to see her father one last time.
Lunorro would keep going back further and further until he was stopped by Odin and an early form of the Time Walker’s Guild. Odin would be able to trick Lunorro into joining the guild by saying that their goals aligned. They both want to save the universe from mutually assured destruction, but Odin says that he's going about it the wrong way. He needs discipline and his lack of has amounted to the desensitization of disaster. Lunnoro, unable to argue back, agrees to help Odin, but then Odin betrays him and locks him in a point in time and unable to die. The first prisoner of the TWG. Will he be released in a future story? Maybe he will, maybe he won't.
