i love korean-american dakota so mch.its about limited knowledge of his culture but a firm attachment to it nevertheless. he grew up learning taekwondoe he loves going to all you can eat kbbq places he kept a rice cooker in the base because Who doesn't have a rice cooker. he taught william how to use chopsticks and his aunt has pictures from his first birthday (his grab item was food lmao). he tried to teach pd how to play yutnori when new years rolled around and it went horribly but they all had so much fun they did a couple rounds anyway.

don't get me wrong I ADORE all the fashionista and goth/emo designs for the prime defenders, a+, fantastic work, I love it. I headcanon they are absolutely very plain teens.

William oscillates between two maybe three hoodies total. one week they were pretty sure he just didn't change his clothes. I bet this guy has slept in jeans before. never seen with anything other than scuffed jeans and a hoodie. he's the kind of guy that would be so sweaty in the summer but refuses to take off the sweater. one time he wore a zip up sweater and revealed the stupidest graphic tee anyone has ever seen in their life.

Dakota tries to wear as little clothes as is possible at all times. basketball shorts and a tank top with the armholes cut so far down it's barely a shirt anymore. if tide bugs him enough he'll throw on a zip up sweater when it's cold but nine times out of ten it ends up tied around his waist after a few hours. he refuses to wear anything other than basketball shorts. he's that guy. we all knew one.

Vyncent is never seen in a shirt that doesn't have the strangest text youve ever seen or those nigh indecipherable metal band logos (he has not listened to the music he just likes the design) and baggy sweatpants because he can't move as freely in jeans. he has one (1) sweater for when it's cold.

none of them wear jackets or coats in the winter.

i imagine the creatures that roam around Deadwood (jrwi) are like shadows in a sense

their forms are always changing and wispy like smoke. one moment it looks almost like a canine, the vague shape of what is supposed to be fur protruding from the steam, you blink and all of a sudden 10 different pairs of eyes have sprouted and peer at you from the darkness.

they make no sound when they walk, and they love following people around. the only problem is it's kinda hard to see them when it's night time.

it's not necessarily that they aren't there, but more so there's no light to reflect off of them and therefore they just. become one with the shadow xd

similarly to the wisps, they do try and lure people into the woods, but instead of putting them in a daze they just imitate the voices and vague face shapes of other humans

the residents of Deadwood have grown used to the screams from the forests at night. someone new moves in next door and their neighbors come up to them with a care package, whispering an ominous "sometimes the shadows like to play tricks on your mind and your ears. i don't recommend going into the forest at night. or at all, actually", leaving a very confused person standing on the porch with a basket full of goodies in their hands

Thought ab Southern William and Petnames again

Specifically about this poor man getting thrown into the city life, not quite being able to pick out what’s ‘too southern’ to act on - getting glared at because he keeps calling random people sweetheart and honey and he has no idea why he’s getting that response

It takes him months to realize no one ever really does it back to him there and that it’s been he’s like accidentally hitting on people instead of it being taken as just a sort of kindness like back at Deadwood

I headcanon that Nikolai Gogol suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder. He has an uncanny obsession with freeing himself from his emotions and essentially separating himself from humanity. It makes sense to me that this obsession would come from a place of feeling his emotions far too strongly for far too long; controlled entirely by overwhelming fear and sadness and mania and panic. Nikolai seeks to strip himself of humanity in desperate hopes that he'll be able to FINALLY get off his rollercoaster and feel remotely stable for the first time in his life... and I think it's quite possible that he, being so different, never felt human to begin with. (I don't kin Nikolai to a concerning degree, you do 😂)
