i would much rather do "(lack of education), misinformation, and fear"

because people could interpret it as "lack of (education, misinformation, and fear)"

i cant change the order because thats how my essay goes

next time that troll pemdas graphic goes viral and everyone's dunking on each other for being bad at math just remember nobody is "right" because they're just guessing what some bad graphic designer's inconsistent spacing meant.

stop reinforcing the idea that math is frustratingly hard and if you don’t get it you should feel bad. professionals use calculators for silly basic things all the time, it’s okay not to remember everything all the time. math students shouldn’t take these troll problems as something to worry about generally. unless, of course, you rewrite it as “3+4/100″ and still get it wrong after eliminating white space. then it’s important to revisit pemdas.

do you not multiply into the parentheses first

so instead of 5(2+3) 5(5) 25

its

5(2+3) (10+15) 25

i mean it comes out the same for addition but say if there was multiplication inside the parentheses you multiply everything in there by the first number first right

otherwise it would be written as (2+3)*5
