You groaned rolling your head back as the aggravating and irritating music hit your ears, an ogre was playing make believe DJ, you can hear its gruesome nails scratching on the pad. You accompanied Leo on a quest to locate an enchanted item used in antient time to help Forge weapon and armors, Both of you settled in the corner of the night club, You leaned back on one of those wrapped cocktail tables, trying to cover Leo behind you, who was working on a machine in order to locate the said item. "Where in the hell did you get these clothes!" You whined tugging on your unnecessary revealing clothes, "Hey!, It took a lot of energy to charm the store lady, Besides, We're in a nightclub atleast we blend in." He rolled his eyes wiping the sweat building on his forehead with the sleeves of his suit, You scoffed, gaze following a few monsters who danced around with the pitiful drunken humans, Particularly on one Laistrygonian Giant who hovered over a woman his hands dropped down to grip the womans hip, licking his lips with hunger in his eyes You wondered what the humans were seeing, Are the Monsters hot with the mist? (wait we're getting off topic). You nudge leo "Are you done?" You hummed, turning back to face him "Hm?, not yet, just needs a few changes" He fiddled around with the wires on the machine, You turned your head back, Blood turning blue when you noticed the Laistrygonian was looking right back at you as its sharp teeth bit into the drunken woman's neck who was squirming around, everyone around them continued dancing as if it was a normal thing, Your eyes widened as The giant glared at you, and looked at the DJ with a nod
"Leo, Leo!, Hurry up, I think-" You tapped leo's shoulder aggressively keeping an eyecontact with the Giant, "Hold on!, I'm Don-" The music became louder, Covering the stomps of the giant walking over to the both of you with furrowed brows. You hurriedly grabbed leo's sleeve, dragging him away making him stumble over a few people "Hey!" a drunk dude grumbled "Sorry!" leo screeched, You dragged leo over to a corridor which was fortunately empty, The both of you panting "You almost made me drop the machine!" He groaned settling down on the floor breathing heavily, “yeah?, would you rather to have died?” You gently hit him in the head “that was unnecessary” a overly dramatic pout covered his face “yes but it was well deserved.” You rolled your eyes snatching the metal device from his hand, a red blinking button on it "Its somewhere here" He hovered behind you, "I know idiot, Look out for monsters" You waved the machine out in the air to try and get the blinking to stop, "You're doing it wrong!" Leo tried to snatch it away from you "I know how to do-" The both of you fought over who gets to use the machine arms intertwined as he kept trying to snatch it back, Until both of your attention was grabbed by the Giant who was all the way at the end of the corridor "Warning, Tall angry dude is coming here!!" "Thanks for stating the obvious, idiot!!" then the Red button finally settled when the giant was just about to strike "Follow me!" You ran towards the door where the machine was pointing to, leo followed "Lock it hurry!" A loud thud could be heard from outside and the giant muttering to themselves "Where do we go now?" leo asked, inside the room were tons of doors, You waved the machine trying to get signal, a loud tugging on the previous door behind could be heard "Just hide!" You grabbed him shoving him in a random room, The room was dimly lit, stairs going down "This is a bad idea!" "What makes you think theres not more monsters there?" He stammered "Just-" You were thinking of a retort but you knew he was right, You hesitated before shrugging him off. "You're really stubborn y'know, Hey!" Leo groaned yet still followed you down the stairs.
The seemingly old stairs creaked under yours and leo's weight, carefully listening for any hits of a monster nearby, The faint noise of.. moaning? could be heard, growing louder as the both of you walk further down the stairs "What the hell?" You cursed under your breath near a laugh, tugging leo's shirt forcing him to keep a straight face so he doesnt attract attention from whoever was there below. Soon enough You were in a wine cellar, with bunch of drunk and horny teenagers who doesnt look a day over 17, there were 5 pairs of couples all scattered throughout the room practically eating each others faces off, "You've got to be kidding me.." You slammed your face, Leo couldn't help but snicker behind "A make out spot hah!" You glared at him forcing your way into the end of the wine cellar, There was no point in being quiet or sneaky though, all those people there were too busy fulfilling their.. Fantasies... "we should do that sometimes" Leo smirked, making you cough, Cheeks growing red and you turned to look at him trying to keep an intimidating face as leo made his hands do a kissy kiss, You rolled your eyes, cheeks a pinkish hue then you "Accidentally" gave him a quick jab to the stomach "Oh oops" "Owh!" he said clutching his stomach, frowning up at you, You examined the wine cellar trying to find any exit but there was none… or as far as you could tell “theres no exit.” You mumbled checking the gaps of the overfilled shelves if there was a way to get out “The monster is close, we have to hide somewhere.” You gave leo back the machine so he could try and figure out whats wrong with it “adam!..” a girl groaned from across the room followed by a growl of a guy “I swear to hades, I’m actually gonna puke” Leo couldn’t contain his laughter anymore
“Dont be dramati-“ Just like that you were cut off, the both of you could hear a door breaking open from upstairs, it wouldn’t take long for the giant to come to the room, the both of you looked at each other and hurriedly searched every corner of the wine cellar for a hope of escaping “nothing!” Leo mouthed from across the room trying to ignore the couple that had their faces basically attached to eachother “Come here! I think i found something!” you mouthed back and he hurriedly ran right back over to you “i think-“ Then a loud crash from the entrance above could be heard all the way to the room below, somehow didn’t attract the humans in the same room, the both of you looked at each other with a knowing look when the old stairs creaked again, the giant was headed down muttering to himself “tsk tsk tsk.” both of you looked at each other and back at the stairs, and you could see a hint of a musty big foot.. both of your eyes widened could no longer speak, "I have a plan.." You said hesitantly cheeks turning red, You could see the giants hip, revealing more of its body as it goes down
"What is it-" Leo was soon cut of when you pulled him by his tie and softly kissed him, You didn't expect the kiss to be soo... passionate?, You could see his eyes widen but went along with you and kissed you back, a hint of pink in his sunkissed skin, You could smell Leo's cologne up close.. It was so intoxicating(in a good way) You guided leo's hands to your waist trying to make it seem more believable, The both of you were clearly flustered, you just hoped that Leo's cologne was strong enough to hide the scent of the both of you, you tried to to focus back on the monster and trying not to melt into the kiss, from the corner of your eye you could see the giant peaking under the stairs examining the room and hissed "Tsk", Suddenly Leo pushed you back into the wall kissing you in a slow and playful rhythm, You were sure you were gonna explode any minute now from embarrassment "Shh, eyes on me." He whispered before taking another kiss, You couldn't tell what was real and what was not anymore, You thought he wanted you to keep your eyes on his so that the giant doesn't notice, right?, I mean this was your plan.. Why are you so flustered right now??? "Its just for the mission" You think to yourself, a hint of vulnerability in your heart, But you snapped back to reality when you felt his heart beating fast through his suit, he still kept tight grip on your waist, his other hand found its way to cup your cheeks, finally after what felt like minutes the giant finally went away with a huff, so the plan did work!, now it was time to stop kissing right?, But leo still hasn't noticed that the giant was long gone, and was still softly kissing you, You pulled away slowly, Your eyes kept in contact as you pulled away with a breathy gasped "Uhm.." "Ehem.." The both of you were flustered, You pulled away from his grasp acting like nothing happened, trying to act busy examining the room again for a way out, but your mind could't help but replay the moment in your head, He cant lie and sat he didn't miss the way your lips parted just to kiss him back. Wait, what are you guys thinking? it was just for the mission, nothing else, no feelings attached, right? "Can we atleast talk about it-" Leo mumbled behind you, cheeks flushed, you tried to ignore him checking the shelves once more before finding a hidden button hidden underneath the off brand wine "It was just to blend in.." You finally answered, remembering the words he spoke to you earlier, still feeling embarrassed, not like you can confess when you're in a life and death situation, but still those words hit like a dagger to his heart, Yours especially, denying your feelings for him, oh if only you knew how whipped this boy was for you, There was a hint of disappointment mixed with embarrassment in the air, You couldn't even hold proper eye contact with him without the memories appearing in your mind, and the smell of his cologne lingered. "C'mon, lets get out of here."

let me be the one you want
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: luke castellan x gn!reader
summary: luke can't understand why you'd want to be with percy, when you could be with him instead
Tumblr media
"what do you even see in that guy?"
luke huffed and rolled his eyes, as you continued to watch percy from afar, as he laughed and talked with annabeth.
"i don't think you'd get it, luke"
you knew that luke wasn't the biggest fan of percy, even when he tried to be nice to him. of course luke wouldn't see what made percy so special to you.
"yeah, you're right. i don't get it" luke said. "i don't get why you're hung up on a guy that likes another girl. especially when you could've had me instead!"
for the first time since luke started talking, you turned around to face him. finally, your eyes were on him, instead of percy. even if it was just for a moment.
"you know… i could be the one you want. i could make you forget all about percy, if you'd let me"
luke stepped closer, a smug smile on his lips.
"are you going to let me?"

OOOH OKAY
how abouttttt 67 with percabeth??? maybe lee percy? (but you decide okok❤️)
drabble prompts!! // thank you for the request!! xo 67. "Wow. Never thought I'd witness this."
Annabeth apparently made it her mission to embarrass Percy the moment he'd arrived at Camp Half-Blood; even while caring for him in those first few days, the Minotaur's injuries leaving him weak and groggy, she had still had the wit to comment on the fact that he drooled in his sleep, sending his face aflame.
Now, they're friends. They've gone on a whole quest together, defeated monsters and faced the gods and he's seen her embarrass herself quite a few times, like her terrified shrieks when she saw those spiders. But even then, she had composed herself quite gracefully, explained her fear with logic and reason, and moved on.
Percy's embarrassment used to feel white-hot, like when he couldn't answer a question correctly in class or when Gabe spit insults at him, the flush in his face felt burning, suffocating, and shame was usually replaced by anger.
Annabeth doesn't make him feel that way. Her little quips are always clever, usually harmless. Even her nickname for him, "seaweed brain" doesn't annoy him as much as he pretends it does. Annabeth, as well as his friends at Camp Half-Blood, don't make him feel like an outsider.
Percy has become flustered around Annabeth for a whole new reason, though, much to his horror. She had snuck up on him in her stupid Yankee's cap, invisible, and grabbed him from behind to scare him. However, his shout (which she described as a "squeal", which he vehemently denied) was less about fear and more due to the fact that she had grabbed his sides and squeezed.
"Are you ticklish, Seaweed Brain?" she had asked once the cap was off and she'd revealed herself, with that mischievous grin painted on her face.
Percy scoffed. "No," he said, unconvincingly.
And the rest was history.
He still won't admit that he's ticklish. It's ridiculous, because he so obviously is, but it's some weird pride thing that Percy can't shake. Now, every time she tickles him, she asks him again: "Are you ticklish?" and every time, no matter how hard he's laughing, Percy tells her no.
Annabeth has taken every chance she's gotten to tickle him, and he's been on edge ever since. Unfortunately, those demigod battle instincts didn't seem to protect him in the case of a one-sided tickle fight, and he didn't stand a chance trying to strategize against a daughter of Athena.
So, he jumps at every little sound and often keeps his arms wrapped around his middle just in case of an attack, which Grover finds incredibly amusing.
It's a sunny day at camp when Percy lets his guard down, too busy chatting with Grover by the water to remember his absolute pest of a friend and her shenanigans, when Annabeth creeps up behind him, not even bothering to turn herself invisible this time, and latches onto his ribs, and he nearly goes tumbling into the water.
Grover makes an indignant noise at being splashed, but Percy and Annabeth are too busy grappling to acknowledge him.
"Just admit it, and I'll leave you alone!" Annabeth says, giggling. Her fingers on his ribs are unbearably ticklish, and he can't believe how easily she's found his weak spots. Too smart, too methodical for her own damn good.
"Never!" Percy shouts, trying to grab her hands and failing miserably.
It continues like this for a moment, her trying to stick her hands into his armpits and him cackling like mad, but when she finally gets her fingers under his arms, Percy's laughter reaches a new octave, and before he can process what he's done, a small wave crashes over them both, as well as Grover who is still sitting nearby, and Annabeth crashes against his chest, spluttering.
"Oh, you jerk!" she cries, her hair sopping wet and dripping onto his face. For a moment, he worries that he's actually upset her, but she just begins tickling him with twice as much vigor.
"No, I'm sorry! Okay, okay, I'll admit it!"
Annabeth stops. "Wow. Never thought I'd witness this," she grins. "Go on then. Admit it."
She's still sitting on top of him, looking down at him with smug look on her face. Her hands are poised above his belly, like she'll strike again if he hesitates.
So, Percy swallows his pride. "I'm ticklish," he says, and instead of that white-hot humiliation, the embarrassment he feels is more akin to butterflies in his stomach. He briefly wonders if that's because of the confession, or the fact that she looks so pretty sitting on his legs, hair wet and smile beaming, but he quickly pushes that thought away.
Satisfied, Annabeth gets off of him and takes her seat beside Grover, talking to him about something completely unrelated, and as Percy watches her speak so passionately, he figures that being teased by her isn't so bad at all.

Kissing
Annabeth sat cross-legged on the grass, a book propped open on her lap. The words danced across the pages, captivating her attention like always. But today, her concentration was constantly interrupted by a barrage of soft kisses. Percy, couldn't resist the urge to shower his Wise Girl with affection. He peppered her face and hands with countless kisses, each one accompanied by a playful giggle from him and a gentle swat from her. "Perseus Jackson, I'm trying to read," Annabeth protested, though the smile playing on her lips betrayed her annoyance. "Can't help it, Wise Girl," Percy grinned, pressing another kiss to her cheek before finally relenting. He settled down beside her, content to watch her read.

New York
Annabeth picked at the flowers on the table, waiting for someone who probably won’t show. She was at a coffee shop, waiting for her date she met online. It’s not even worth remembering which app it was from, whoever was going to show, would show. (Or not)
Eventually a ruggedly handsome man ushered in, going up to every woman in the place and talking to them.
“Are you Anna Elizabeth?” He asked, hopelessly.
“Yes, but I prefer to go by Annabeth.” She said.
“Awesome. I’m Percy.” He smiled wide.
“Oh.” Was all she managed, trying not to judge him.
“I’m sorry I was late. I’m from New York originally and San Francisco has a very different layout than the city.” He chuckled, sitting down across from her.
“I lived in New York for some time, it’s not too different.” She held her head high, maybe a little peeved at him for blaming his own incompetence on something that has no real ability to change.
“Oh, cool, where did you live? I grew up in Brooklyn but bounced around Manhattan and the Bronx for the past couple of years. My Ma lives on the upper east side now.” He smiled genuinely, which might have warmed her insides a bit more than she’d like to admit.
“I grew up in a town just out of the city, Scarsdale? Maybe you’ve heard of it?”
“Oh damn, that’s, like, close to Yonkers and Mamo? Right?” He smiled.
“Yeah.”
“That’s awesome, when did you leave?”
“Before I moved out here for school. I went to Berkeley for architecture.” She gripped her cup.
“Nice, I never went to college, too expensive.” He flushed.
“It’s never too late, you know.”
“Yeah, which is why I’m not worried. Like, my buddy, Jason, he’s been a Yale man since he was born. Guess where he ended up?”
“Yale?”
“SUNY Oneonta.”
“Oh, that’s—”
“Nothing like Yale, yeah, that’s what I said when he told me.” Percy’s eyes crinkled endearingly as he spoke about his friend, and joked with her.
“So, what brought you to San Fran, then, Percy?” Annabeth asked, genuine curiosity flooding her. He seemed like such a New Yorker, born and raised, that it didn’t make sense as to why he would leave.
“I still think of it as where I live, but for now, I’m out here to help my buddy Grover move into his internship. I don’t know, really.”
“You just go on random dates?”
“For fun, yeah.”
“That’s….” She wasn’t really sure.
“Weird?”
“Yeah.” She giggled, relieved he said it.
“What can I say? Some might say I’m a masochist.”
“Some.” She took a sip of her drink.
“Some might say that the ones that don’t immediately get up, are as well.” He whispered.
“Oh, well, I— I just like coffee.”
“If you ever find yourself in New York you should give me a call.” “I will.”

college sports au where annabeth is a star soccer player for nyu who’s dream is to eventually make the women’s soccer team and percy is the assistant coach.
I cannot believe you are making me, a person who understands all of 0 sports and played soccer when I was 8, try to write like I know anything about how any of this works. How dare you. Here you go.
I’m so mad at you.
A crooked smile should not incite such fury as what Annabeth currently felt.
But for the record, it shouldn’t make her heart flutter the way it did, either.
Both at the same time was just confusing.
“What did you just say?!” She hissed under her breath, glancing anxiously out the dark tunnel where her team waited to sprint onto the horrifically wet field— it had been raining since the night before, and Annabeth was already dreading the mud and the cold.
Well, now she would happily take that over Percy Jackson’s stupid dumb annoying crooked smile.
“I asked,” he spoke slowly, his voice patient as if he were explaining a basic concept to a child, “if you would like a kiss for luck?”
Annabeth sputtered, glancing again to ensure the rest of the team wasn’t paying attention— they were not.
Though that may have been because their star striker getting royally pissed at the NYU Violet’s assistant coach was not a novel scene.
“This—you—hitting on players is creepy!” She snapped, face red and only growing brighter as Percy leaned in to speak low in her ear.
“But hitting on girlfriends, even secret ones, isn’t.” He paused. “…Unless I missed the memo.”
Annabeth huffed, tugging on the hem of her jersey as nerves about the upcoming game were replaced with nerves about the stupid man in front of her referring to her as his girlfriend.
It was a new development, and one that made her feel insane to think about for more than ten seconds at a time.
“So…?” Her boyfriend (boyfriend?!) pulled back just enough that she could see his stupid terrible grin, “What do you say?”
The poor hem of Annabeth’s jersey was now a bunched up mess in her hands, twisting in her fists without her even noticing. “If we win—“
“When.”
“If!” She heaved a breath, “Then maybe I will think about giving you a celebratory kiss. But we’re going to lose, so it doesn’t matter.”
Percy’s grin didn’t waver, “No, we’re not. We’ve been over their weaknesses, know their plays— and everyone is gonna be playing their best with the club scout out in the stands.”
Annabeth groaned, “Don’t remind me!”
“Not to mention, the best center forward on this side of the continental US.”
“The best center forward in the world.” She muttered, though there was doubt in her voice, her usual confidence shaken by the fact that the opposing team had won every game against the Violets for the past 3 years.
“‘Atta girl.” Percy knocked his forehead to hers, their eyes meeting, “Give them hell. Especially so I can get that kiss.”
He dodged out of the way of Annabeth’s fist, laughing as he jogged through the tunnel to the sidelines to join their coach. Annabeth forced a deep breath, and turned to the team to give a pep talk that would rival any pre-battle hype speech in the history of the universe.
And when they won, covered in mud, 2 to 1, Annabeth Chase, center forward, star player, flashed a grin at Percy Jackson, assistant coach, new boyfriend, the promise in her eyes meeting the excitement in his. Who knew when they’d tell people— but while Annabeth was happy to share this and any future wins with the rest of the world, Percy?
Well, for now, he was all hers.
And their kiss behind the shuttle to the team’s hotel was nearly as satisfying as the business card with the pro club scout’s number in her hand.

snowfall (read in ao3)
It was snowing.
It was snowing, and Percy made sure that Annabeth knew, whooping and waking her.
It was snowing, and it was the weekend, so they slowly ate breakfast to delay shoveling the driveway.
Eventually, they could not put it off for much longer, but before they could start, Percy balled up a clump of snow and threw it at his fiancée.
There was no cover in the driveway, so they traded snowball after snowball, covering their jackets and pants in snow, ending only when Percy went and hugged Annabeth.
It was snowing, yet Percy was warm all over.

December Prompts 1: Light
.
.
Dec 1, 2026
The bathroom light wakes him up. The sound of retching gets him out of bed. He winces at the chill of the hardwood floor, but it’s the nudge he needs to get from half-asleep to awake. The gagging he hears, followed by a dry cough, knocks him to fully alert. He makes his way to the bathroom, cursing under his breath.
Her head hangs over the toilet bowl, breaths loud and slow. Against the white tiled floor, her thighs looking tanner than they really are. He takes her in, hand at the nape of his neck, watching her breathe, in...out, her shoulders hunched, hands curled in the hem of her baggy t-shirt.
Percy steps back out into their bedroom.
She’s still in a kneel when he returns, but now she's shifted, head tipped back in fatigue. He reaches for her when her body tenses, she’s gagging again, there's nothing really coming out and there really nothing he can do. She dry heaves and he comes closer, squatting behind her.
Annabeth breathes shakily then spits, hard, trying to clear the taste of sourness and bile from her mouth.
“Put some pants on,” his hand settles on her ribcage, I’m here, the other hand holds out a pair of sweats. “It's cold.”
She doesn’t get up from her position before the toilet, just maneuvers her legs into the pants. One leg in, she jams the other one next, she's finished with a haphazard tug, the band crooked and folded at her waist.
He takes a step back, arms crossing over his bare torso.
“Can get you anything?”
“Ginger tea.” She pushes the hair from her sagging ponytail off of her forehead with two hands. “That’d be nice.”
He watches her for a second, lips pulled in as he considers. In the end, he does as he’s been asked, leaving the sorry, LED bleached scene to return, several minutes later, with the tea as requested, a bit of honey added to soothe.
She’s on her feet by then, toothbrush wedged in her mouth as she sprays the toilet down with some Lysol. She leaves the disinfectant to sit while she rinses out her mouth.
He passes the tea to her when she's done, laying the back of his hand on her neck, then her forehead, just checking.
"Think you can stomach something before work?" He keeps his hand on her, flattening the curls at the crown of her head.
"I'm calling out."
Some of the worry seeps from him.
"Okay," He tilts her head towards him so he can kiss her on the forehead. "Lay down, get some rest." He kisses the hair at her temple. "I've got the girls."
When she crawls back into bed, he's right there pulling the blanket up to her chin. She thanks him softly, eyes almost drifting shut before she catches the pleased look on his face.
"What?" She asks, genuinely curious.
He smiles a little, his hand lingers in her hair out of habit before he admits.
"I didn't think you'd call off."
"Well, I feel like dog shit," she murmurs.
He almost laughs, then sighs with a bit of his own fatigue. "I don't know, honey." He catches her earlobe between his thumb and forefinger. "Sometimes you act like you aren't pregnant. Other times you have me worried sick."
"I can't pretend today," the confession comes out of her, bare enough for him to worry again. "This round goes to your offspring."
He laughs for real this time. "Okay." His thumb brushes her cheek before he bends to press his mouth to the corner of hers. "Take a breather then, Mayweather."
She hmmed. "I'll be back in the ring tomorrow."

Annabeth likes to tug on Percy’s ears, because she thinks it’s cute how they turn red when he gets flustered.
“Wise girl, do you have to do that while I’m baking?” Percy raised his brows. He mixed the dough as best as he could, with Annabeth clinging to him, at least.
He felt her arm tighten around his waist, and her jaw rest on his shoulder as she kept gently tugging on his right ear.
“Yes,” she smirked. Annabeth gave him a kiss on his cheek, and watched his ear flushed pink, but not before tugging on it lightly again.
Percy sighed.
“What? They’re too cute,” Annabeth protested. “You love it.”
“Not while I’m baking.” He rolled his eyes, lips curling into a smile.”Look, do you want cookies, or not?”
She got off of him, now leaning on the counter. The Daughter of Athena lamented at him with those bored, gray eyes. “Can I at least help you? I feel like a beached hippocampi just sitting here.”
He looked away from her, squinting at the cookie recipe in front of him.”As long as you use sugar instead of salt.”
He glanced back at her just in time for Annabeth to give him a “seriously?” look. He laughed as she elbowed him. Annabeth rolled up her sleeves grumpily. “One time,” she grumbled, as she sprinkled flour on the kitchen top.
“One time too many,” he poked at her, nudging her with his hip.

sometimes when things get too hard annabeth disapears. It's not like she does it on purpose. Being invisible is not something she chose willingly. It had been thrusted on her by her mortal family and athena. It was all she was as a kid. It's what made her survive on the streets.
so she regresses back into that instinct. Fast yet big movements in her navigation. Soft steps. Seizing blind softs. Silence in her movements. Barely audible breathing. Hand always on her dagger. Nobody notices not even herself most of the time
Until after the war
Percy needed her help with something but he couldn't find her. He asks around and nobody has seen her. An hour passes and she's nowhere to be found. He starts freaking out until she pops up behind him like nothing happened. He brushes it off thinking its just the war making him jumpy. Until it happens again and again. After a nasty visit to her mortal family, the anniversary of her running away, the anniversary of the war, conversations about luke whenever things get too emotionally loaded she vanishes.
He tries looking for her asks the other campers around they search but they never find her she always finds them first. He thinks for the longest time that she uses her cap but when he finds it her room and shes nowhere to be seen he gets even more confused.
How does she manage to hide away like this ? The entire athena cabin is looking for her as well and they still can't find her. That is until thalia shows up and finds her in less than 5 minutes. When annabeth is gone and thalia is around shes never gone for long
and that is how percy realizes how annabeth hides away and why. It was all she knew as a kid and now and its why thalia always was the one to find her first because she was the same. That's how they became family and percy can't change that. He can't rewrite her childhood
He'll never find her when she hides so he just has to hope he's enough for her to come back

prompt from this list that i saw and couldn’t stop thinking about:
I didn't know you wore glasses and I'm thinking normal and platonic thoughts about you right now I swear
annabeth all but collapsed into the seat across from him. “i got no sleep last night,” she started, barely even bothering to look at percy as she opened her lunch. “and i ended up not even presenting today because the professor was sick. literally stayed up until 4 am for nothing.”
she angrily took a bite of her burrito bowl, stabbing the fork back down into the rice. finally, she looked up at percy, who was staring at her blankly. “what?” she asked.
“you wear glasses?”
a stupid question because obviously she did. they were square-ish frames, black and silver. the bottoms of the lenses rounded out a bit and rested gently on her cheeks. she had no makeup on, but the glasses highlighted her eyes in a similar way to how her mascara normally did, maybe even better. in the sunlight that washed over them as they sat on their usual picnic table, he was rendered speechless by how good she looked.
“oh,” annabeth said, slightly less pointed than before. “yeah. i always wear contacts, but i was too tired this morning.”
percy nodded dumbly, his lunch completely forgotten as he looked at her. annabeth didn’t seem to notice how his brain was short circuiting as she continued to eat and tell him all about how much effort she’d put into this presentation, only for her to still have three more days to work on it now.
percy didn’t realize he had a thing for moody girls in glasses, but he very much does. he’d always, on some level, recognized that annabeth was beautiful but it had never clicked in his head just how beautiful. now, as he tried to act normal and resume eating his sandwich, he was finding it increasingly hard to focus on what she was saying and instead found himself getting distracted by the way the light reflected off her glasses and onto her cheeks.
“you’re being weird,” she said after a few minutes.
“no, i’m not,” percy lied. he had just been studying the way her hair looked tucked behind her ear with the arm of her glasses holding the curls back. which was, admittedly, kind of weird of him.
“what’s up?”
“you just look so different with glasses, i don’t know,” he shrugged.
“you’re still on that?” she asked.
“i don’t know. it’s weird, okay?”
wrong thing to say, he realized immediately. but annabeth nodded once and said, “thanks.”
“not a bad weird,” he corrected himself. annabeth rolled her eyes though. she lifted the glasses off her face and instead set them on her head, pushing her hair away from her face.
“better?” she asked.
no, not better. it was worse, actually. because this was how annabeth normally looked to percy, and he was still tongue-tied over how fucking pretty she was.
“i like the glasses on you,” he said, trying to sound genuine. “they look good. good weird.”
annabeth stared at him for a few seconds before bringing down the frames again and settling them on her face.
“anyways,” she said, trying to steer the conversation towards something else. “did your quiz end up going okay?”
they fell into a relatively normal conversation, but percy couldn’t stop himself from occasionally losing focus. if annabeth noticed, which he was sure she did judging by the handful of odd looks she gave him, she didn’t say anything. they sat there for the next hour until percy had to leave for his next class.
“you should wear the glasses more often,” he said as he stood up from the table. “they suit you.”
annabeth stared at him, the look in her eyes hard to read. “you’re weird, jackson,” she said finally, but there was a hint of pink in her cheeks that hadn’t been there before.
“yeah, but you knew that already,” he smiled.
“that i did,” she nodded. “now go away.”
he left with a small wave, mind focused only on how the rims of her glasses looked brushing against the blush on her cheeks.
when he saw her the next day in their english class, she was wearing her glasses again.

Rest
Being present in the moment is harder than it should be. She thinks she’s going to regret not remembering this moment to the exact detail. But there’s too much happening around her, chatter to her left, music to the right and a level of exhaustion that she isn’t feeling but knows is under the surface of every movement she’s making.
It’s fun, but it’s also a lot. Maybe because it’s been nonstop for what feels like five months but is really just three weeks. Nonstop movement, seeing family, friends, camp, and she can keep going only because she’s used to running off of nothing.
But her quest days feel like a far distant past and the pace of her life has changed in a way that she’s forgotten what it’s like to have this much going on. Is this what getting old is like?
A hand on her shoulder makes her turn. She already knows it’s him, but she takes a moment to stare. Stare at the way the firelight dances across his face adding more shadows to the dark circles under his eyes, stare at the way his lips are quirking upward and eyes that betray some of his tiredness.
“Hey.”
Annabeth isn’t the most romantic person ever, but it feels like a scene from a movie the way her entire being seems to zero on him and him alone. The background that was already fading blurs to something even more indecipherable and his voice comes to the foreground.
“Hi.”
It comes out more breathless in a way that surprises her too. His eyebrows rise up, but he pulls her closer to him. She doesn’t want to melt into the touch because she’s stronger than that, she’s done harder quests than visiting family and friends and making nonstop plans for three weeks, but she can’t help but lean in.
“Bed?” he whispers in her ear. She wonders if everyone else can read her the way he just did.
“I can stay up,” she replies, defiantly.
He chuckles and she feels it against her cheek.
“But you don’t have to.”
She doesn’t have to.
Percy is already looking at her when she looks up at him again, eyes wide with wonder because he’s right. It’s what she needed, permission to let herself rest.
“I have my moments,” he jokes even though she didn’t say anything. He stands up, grabbing her hand to help her up too. “Come on.”
She follows him as he leads her to his cabin, no one sparing them a second glance as they leave the festivities.
The quiet feels like breath of fresh air.
“Thank you,” she says as he shuts the door behind them.
He leans down to kiss her forehead. “I’m tired too.”
It’s validating to know she isn’t the only one.
“What happened to us?” she asks as she changes into her pajamas.
“Nothing,” Percy answers, moving around her to put his jeans away. “We just get a choice now.”
It’s true that on a quest there is no choice. In a matter of life or death you need to keep moving, doing what needs to be done.
But there will come a time, she thinks, composing a letter for her younger self in her mind, there will come a time where you can rest, a time where you’ll get the choice to rest.
She climbs into bed with Percy already half asleep, but he slings an arm around her waist just like he does every night, and she feels her body relax for the first time all day.
But really, she thinks right before she falls asleep, the choice has been there more times than it hasn’t, she just needs to learn how to take it.
A/N: I’ve been extremely busy lately (which is why I’ve missed a few updates) and I’ve been thinking about the concept of resting and allowing yourself to rest recently. Especially since last month felt just nonstop and I was just really exhausted by the end of it all. So that’s what inspired this fic. I’ve said this before but Semantics has always been my most personal series where I end up sharing my thoughts so I hope you guys liked it!

42 Percabeth!
(whispering) i love when it works out just so goddamn perfectly
If you want, I will love you I'll open my cupboard and show you my jumpers & posters and you'll say; Don't be afraid, I'll fall overboard
Annabeth hauled Percy into the small rowboat. His t-shirt dripped with seawater and blood. She fumbled through her backpack for ambrosia. With her other hand, she twisted Percy's shirt and pressed it against the wound in his gut.
Overhead, thunder rumbled. The water churned beneath her. The boat that had been meant for a quiet date jostled in the surge of waves.
"You're not going to die," she snarled. "I won't let them take you."
But what else were they, if not victims of fate?
Annabeth forced the ambrosia into Percy's mouth and unsheathed her dagger.
"I won't let them."
What have you done? You're not a weapon, are you?

You Could Call Me "Babe" For The Weekend
“I should get back before they realize I left.” Annabeth stretched to kiss Percy’s jaw before attempting to roll out of the warm bed. “Don’t go.” He held her against his newly bruised chest. Annabeth could feel herself sink into his hold, his warmth, his sunshine he seemingly only shined for her, seeping into her skin and bones. “It was the reason I came back this weekend, Perce, I can’t just bail.” “So don’t make it a weekend thing.” His eyes pleaded more than his words could somehow. “I have a life I need to get back to, Percy.” She hated the words that were an instinct. “Right.” He sat up, letting go of her. Cold took his place, engulfing her with chills along her shoulders. “Perce–” Annabeth stood up after him. “It’s fine, Annabeth. You have to go.” He started dressing. “I can come back after.” She wanted to fix this. She wanted his sunshine, she wanted what they used to have. “So we can have the same conversation? And my–” “Percy, you know what my life is. You know I can’t do this.” (I won’t do this)  “I know. So go.” He wouldn’t look at her. “Don’t be like that, Percy.” “I’ll just stay quiet.” He sighed. Annabeth moved around behind him before he felt the bed dip and she was pulling him into a kiss. “I’ll be back. I always come back.” “And when you don’t?” He pulled her onto his lap. “Then it’s because I took you with me.” She ended the conversation by pulling his lips to hers.  ~ Locking her car behind her, Annabeth tried to think of a reason as to why her cheeks would be flushed.  Cameras flashed and she was inside. She smiled, and talked about who she was wearing, how she enjoyed working with the director and how well the artist’s piece looked.  Annabeth found her fake smile even less genuine than usual as she started too gather her things and get in her car.  “Where to?” Her driver asked. She didn’t know what to say. “Percy’s.” She could stare at his building forever coming up with reasons not to go back. The reason she should just go to her hotel and take the private flight home to LA. But she doesn’t. She’s taking the stairs two at a time to his apartment.  And he’s there when she gets there. He’s always there.
