summary: the one where you're a daughter of zeus, exploring your relationship with percy.
( my last work || my last work for riodanverse || go to main masterlist )

You and Percy crossed paths during one of your training sessions. Luke was giving Percy a tour of the camp, and when Percy laid eyes on you, he halted abruptly, as if struck by lightning. For some inexplicable reason, he felt an urgent need to know who you were, as if the gods themselves demanded it.
Percy's eyes widened as he observed you from across the training grounds. "Who's that?" he asked, pointing a finger in your direction. Luke suppressed a chuckle, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Her? Oh, that's Y/N, daughter of Zeus." Percy squinted, trying to decipher your actions, as you accidentally summoned a small lightning bolt that fizzled out near your feet. His eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Does that happen often?" Luke grinned. "Only when she's particularly excited, which, by the way, is most of the time. You should see her during thunderstorms!" Percy blinked, watching as you waved sheepishly, causing another faint spark to crackle in the air.
You and Percy found common ground in venting about the gods upon his arrival.
"Hey, little thunder, how's it going?" Percy grinned. "Don't call me that," you replied, trying to keep a straight face. "I'm good too, thanks for asking, Lightning Rod," Percy joked, emphasizing his newfound nickname for you.
Attempts at using your powers together proved futile, as water and electricity didn't exactly make for a harmonious combination.
According to Percy, Cabin 3 was way too big for just him, and assuming you felt the same way about Cabin 1, he started a tradition. At 12:00, he'd show up at your cabin, asking to share it, turning into a routine of hosting pajama parties in each other's cabins.
After you discovered that your half-sister, Thalia, had been turned into a pine tree to save her, Percy couldn't resist teasing you about it.
"Do you think your dad would turn you into, what, a fountain? Or maybe a cherry blossom tree would suit you?" Percy grinned, enjoying the opportunity to rib you. "Jackson, shut up," you retorted, rolling your eyes at his antics. Later, when Grover and Annabeth intervened, trying to keep you two from frying each other, Percy couldn't resist a parting shot. He had soaked you with water from a nearby forest stream during the mission, leaving you drenched and fueling your desire to electrocute him. "Next time you want to electrocute Percy, make sure I'm not around," Annabeth teased as they separated you, noticing your soaked state. Grover, being the peacekeeper, started singing the song of friendship, encouraging both of you to hug it out and apologize. Percy, however, observed that you were shivering from the cold as you walked. Realizing this, he handed you his jacket, concerned. "You'll catch a cold if you stay wet like this," he said, offering you warmth amidst the chilly aftermath of your water-based altercation.
Since neither you nor Percy admit to having feelings for each other, you find yourselves in constant teasing and banter.
During a mission, you two start a squabble because you want to lead everything, and he just wants to do his thing or isn't paying attention to what you're saying. Grover and Annabeth exchange glances, seeking a way to mediate.
It takes a long time before you muster the courage to admit you have feelings for the son of Poseidon. You decide to confess first because, knowing Percy, it would take ages if you waited for him.
"Percy, I need to talk in case we don't get out of here." "Spark Plug, we're getting out of here; trust me." "I like you, Seaweed Brain." He stands there in shock, mouth hanging open, unable to believe that you like him back.
After Percy managed to confess that he also liked you, you enjoyed teasing him about his stunned reaction. But deep down, you were terrified that he might have said he didn't like you back.
Percy becomes incredibly protective of you.
"Touch her, and you'll be dead."
You love stormy days and spend hours on the beach with Percy because he can control the water, ensuring you both stay dry.
"Isn't it beautiful?" "What, little storm?" You pause, gazing out at the tumultuous sea, the waves crashing against the shore. "It's like the ocean is in harmony with this storm. It's as if they understand each other, finding peace in the chaos." "Maybe," Percy finally responds, a soft smile playing on his lips. "Maybe storms and the sea have a way of finding peace in chaos because they understand that even in the wildest moments, there's a certain kind of order."
You appreciate the profound simplicity of his words, and in that moment, he wraps his arms around you from behind, resting his head on your shoulder. For the first time in a long while, you feel at home

As soon as percy got handed this quest, with Grover being part of the cloven council and Annabeth being gone to spend time with her family, Percy knew his immediate first choice would be Aurora, there was no doubt about it. The Apollo girl had a spark about her that has drawn him in the second he laid eyes on her.
He had deemed it because she was a daughter of Apollo so there would always be some sort of light that would draw him in, but he hasnt been very sure of that for a very long time. Every time he laid eyes on her, it felt as though time stood still and she was the only source of light and happiness in this dark, gloomy world.
They had became extremely close when he first came to camp, she taught him the ropes in archery as to put it plainly, he was absolutely shit at it. He had no aim and his stance was awful, in her own words.
When she first said that to him, he wanted to throw her in a dumpster, but then he saw her, he properly saw her. He didnt know what Aphrodite looked like, but he was sure she would be a spitting image of the girl. He was even more sure that she was a daughter of Aphrodite but instead she was not, which made sense as to why she was hanging around the archery booth. From that day forward, she helped him freshen his archery skills, and he helped her with her sword skills.
He has never understood why she wouldnt ask Luke as he was the best swords-man and would probably be a better trainer. However, when he brough it up to her one time her cheeks flushed the tiniest bit and she stated how she was helping him, so he should do that same.
That's how they have ended up here. In the middle of nowhere, trying to find and 'kill' a beast that has been accidently lost and let out from the underworld and send it back. Although quests always have 3 people on them, the oracle specifically stated that this was only a 2 person job. Percy had never been so sure in picking Aurora at that moment in time.
🌊
"Are you sure we are going the right way Perce, I swear I've seen this tree 3 times already" Aurora stated this time taking a dagger and marking said tree with an X so if they do cross it again, she would be right.
"You never trust my navigation skills sunshine, why is that, is it cause you always get lost in my eyes" he says turning to look at her with a smug smile on his face. The girl abruptly stopped at his turn and could feel the blood rush to her cheeks in that moment, her honey-brown eyes immediately locked with his water coloured eyes and she broke the gaze, not letting him have the satisfaction of being right.
"You wish seaweed brain" she muttered and walked past him knocking into his shoulder in the process which led to him letting out a dramatic gasp.
"That hurts sunshine. Where are you going, it's getting dark, we should stop, set up camp and get some rest so we can re-think and re-strategize." The girl slowly stops her steps and turns her back to the boy who is standing there leaning against a tree with his arms crossed giving her a cocky glance that makes her want to die and kill him at the same time.
The two had a stand-off for a bit before one decided to speak up.
"As long as I don't have to scavenge this creepy forest for wood then its fine by me" the girl said walking back to him while his eyes following her every movement till she was a few steps away from him. The girl went to grab something from her pocket with her left hand and with her right, she grabbed the boys arms and dragged her hand down it, to his hand which automatically opened up. She placed something cold into it with her left hand.
He looked at her and she had a glint in her eyes he hadn't seen for the past 12 hours, looking to his palm, he was a coin. Not just any ordinary coin or ordinary drachma. It was a coin from sea life, the one coin they give to one another which can be used for many thing, they talked it over before the quest. The coin can only be used for 2 things during this quest, to make sure the other doesnt die, or the person who has been handed the coin has to do what the person giving the coin wants no matter what.
He looked up at her with a confused look but seeing the mischief in her eyes gave enough away. Sighing he pocketed the coin and stepped away from the tree which only left 3 steps in-between the two.
"What do you want me to do" not even bothering arguing.
"I want to see you fail at making a fire" she said just giving him the brightest smile, basically oozing sunlight from her. The boy felt like a deer stuck in headlights in that moment, he almost forgot the reason for her heavenly smile. He wanted to tell her he loved her right there and then, that he could never get enough of her, that he searched for her in every room he ever walked into, that she was the one and only constant source of light in his life, that she was the sun and he would orbit her in every universe no matter how close he got, no matter how much it destroyed him. He was utterly inconsolable without her. He loved her.
"Aurora" the boy started to say, in a serious tone which immediately made the girl's smile falter as she looked into his eyes, he didnt need to say anything. His eyes spoke more words than he would have liked, enough for the girl to get the message and understand him. All of the glances, the subtle touches, the comfort of each other like no other. She felt and understood it all.
He was about of continue when a roar sounded, echoing in all directions and rustling the trees. The two could hear the howl of Cerberus all around them. Percy immediately uncapped riptide while Aurora unclasped her bracelet which turned into a bow and an unlimited supply of arrows.
The both circled back to back, covering each others blind spot like muscle memory. They could feel the ground shake with each step the otherworldly creature took.
"How are we going to do this?" the girl asked while keeping an eye on all of her surroundings.
"You distract with your arrows as they are long-range and while she's focused on you, I'll go for the kill shot"
"She can't die" she could feel him rolling her eyes as the words left her mouth.
"You know what I mean"
They could hear the low growl from the side of them. The three-headed beast emerged in all its glory with its 6 menacing eyes ready to rip these two teens to shreds and send the wrong beings in this equation to the underworld. Percy turned to stand next to Aurora and the girl grabbed his hand and squeezed to which he immediately responded. There were many unspoken words that had been said in the past 10 minutes and this was another addition 'dont die, be safe, come back to me'.
Slipping through her fingers, his hand left hers and quietly stalked away before the beast could get any idea there were 2 of them. Wishing the best for the boy, she instantly got the dogs attention by shooting an arrow at the middle head's nose.
It did not like that.
They all barked at once and got ready to run at the girl. She didn't like to admit it but she was fucking terrified. Cerberus ran at her and she leapt to the side and ran as fast as she could not looking back until she could feel he's a little away from her. She got another arrow ready in her bow and blindly shot it behind her.
She heard a small whimper which brought a smirk to her face but that was immediately wiped away as she heard the barking intensify. Hiding behind a tree the girl caught her breaths and looked for the hound and she couldnt spot it or Percy. She got another arrow ready and looked behind the tree once again but was faced with the thing she was hunting.
Fear spread to every part of her body and she had no time to brace the impact as the dog clawed the tree which in return clawed her. She let out a bloodcurdling scream as she was flung into another tree. The bark from the destroyed tree splintered her, her head hit against a tree on impact and the large gash on her side felt like a fire that was melting her skin off. The girl felt her breath stick in her throat, she felt as though she was dying as immense pain filled her and black spots invaded her vision. Only one other thing was on her mind.
Percy.
The ocean eyed boy lost sight of Cerberus immediately as it began to chase Aurora, his Aurora. He followed as fast as he could not wanting anything bad to happen to the girl he loved before he got any chance to be with her, to confess and to just live a life content with his feelings.
As he heard, the whoosh of Aurora's arrows increase, he could feel himself being uncapable of keeping up with the beast from the underworld and he cursed himself for it. He lost sight of Cerberus and it scared him, it was too quiet. He couldn't hear the creature or the girl he loved.
His heartbeat quickened as he looked all around him trying to see a glimpse of either of them.
Then all blood drain out of his face when he heard the one sound he wished he did not have to hear, ever. Aurora's scream made his heart almost leap out of his chest. He didnt know what to do, he didnt know where she was, he couldnt see the hound, its his fault, she going to die because of him.
She most certainly is going to die if you dont get a fucking move on, that one voice in his head said. And he pushed all the doubts to the back of his head and focused on 2 things. Defeating Cerberus and finding Aurora.
He could hear the three-headed dogs footsteps and instantly ran to it. It didnt see him coming and it's tail was on the ground so he didnt the best thing he could think of. He ran up the tail onto the body of the beast.
This elicited loud barking from the beast and Percy could only do one thing. Repeatedly stab the dog until it dissolved.
Now... admittedly, this was not a good strategy. It was fucking awful. There was no thought to his stabs, they all just angered the beast and considering she was quite resistance to stabs, it wasnt helping. He was just tiring himself out.
He then has the genius idea of stabbing the beast in the eye, or eyes. He started with the left head. The beast let out a large whimper, and stumbled which cause the boy to almost loose his grip on it. He wasnt going to stop now, he needed to send Cerberus back and get to Aurora.
Aurora. Her scream was echoing in his mind. Bouncing around his skull like he has no brain inside, only her gut-wrenching scream.
He subtly shook his head. As much as he was dreading where she was and if she was okay. He needed to secure Cerberus and he needed all attention to so it as fast a possible to get back to his sunshine.
He then stabbed riptide into both the right heads eyes. Percy knew what to expect this time so he braced himself and held on as tight as he could. He could not fail now. He was too close.
The dog slumped onto the floor which made percy's last task much more easier. With agility and caution the boy leapt onto the middle head and punctured the eyes out which evoked a whimper which made the boy feel bad for the animal and it slowly turned to dust.
In an instant the boy caught his breath and his mind raced with only one thing.
Aurora.
"Aurora! Sunshine! Where are you?" The boy felt as though he could not breathe. His head was spinning trying to find her in the mountains of trees and in the darkness of this forest, he has never needed to see her more now than any other time.
"Aurora! Please if you can hear me make a sound! Anything so I know you're alive" He would never leave her. He would die before he left her to rot in these woods. He would never be able to face the guilt and loss.
"Please! Say SOMETHING" he could feel himself getting frustrated. "HELP! SOMEONE, ANYONE" tears welded in his eyes trying to find her.
There was a rustle of leaves from the left side behind him. He was running to the sound before it even registered in the back of his mind. He kept hearing the rustling and a small whimper.
He saw a faint glow of light behind a tree and he held his breath for the sight that was to come. He skidded to a stop and fell on his knees infront of her.
His heart dropped to his stomach when he saw her. Her face was significantly paler than when he left her and she had a wood splinter sticking out of her thigh and worst of all, the 4 claw marks across her abdomen with blood everywhere, it seemed to have stopped pouring, but it was a nauseating sight to see. He didnt know what to do.
"Aurora, darling, open your eyes" his hands reached her cheeks and his thumb rubbed circled on her cheek and his two fingers made their way to her neck to check her pulse. He let out a sigh of relief when he felt a pulse. It was faint but not too faint to the point it would slip too far out of his grasp.
He reached for his bag on his back to get some first aid supplies, ambrosia and nectar for the girl, when she let out a pained gasp.
The girl had barely an recollection of anything, the only thing on her mind at the moment was the immense pain shooting through her whole body, It felt like she was on fire and couldnt breathe. She wanted to die.
Then her vision cleared and she saw the golden haired boy looked at her like she was the only thing in the whole world, he held so much worry in his eyes that she thought for a second if she was already dead and it was her spirit seeing his reaction to her death.
"Gods, Aurora, you're okay. You had be so worried, I was terrified, I cannot lose you. If I lost you I would lose myself" The boy held one hand to her cheek while speaking so intently to her.
In that one moment she could feel his stare, like clockwork, bubble something inside of her. It almost made her forget why she was on the ground, why she could taste something metallic in the back of her mouth, why she couldnt move her right leg. It almost took it away. Almost.
That fire spread throughout her body again and she couldnt stop the wail that left her mouth. The pain was nauseating. A flood of curses left Percy's mouth as he grabbed the bottle of nectar and opened it.
"Okay, sunshine, I know you're in a lot of pain but I'm going to give you some nectar, you need to drink it but you need to sit up a little straighter." The girl immediately shook her head as a no in response to the boy.
"I know. The amount of times we've both had to do it but you know deep down that its the only thing that will fix it." The girl tried to harden her stare at the boy but she was too weak to even look at him properly.
"O-okay, but... I can't" she inhaled sharply as she tried to move the slightest bit. She didn't have to finish her sentence for the boy to understand what she was trying to say. He took one his flannel button ups from his bag, scrunched it up and gave it to her. She could only give him a confused look.
"Put it in your mouth, bite down hard cause I'm gonna move you into the right position and its gonna be a pain. I'm sorry sunshine but I have to." She took it with her shaking hands and was about to put it in her mouth when she smelt it, sea salt and musk, then the girl really looked at what the item of clothing was.
"this is yours" she said in a hoarse voice, looking up at him, confusion plastered all over her features.
"Well I dont exactly know where your bag is so next best thing." he gave her a weak smile and moved closer to her but she weakly grabbed his hand.
"I'm scared" she whispered so pathetically but the boy understood, he knew her. He knew that he needed to keep talking to her, to make sure he is doing something close enough to her for her to know that she's still alive.
He only interlaced their fingers and pressed a kiss to the back of her hand.
"I won't let go, I promise. You aren't leaving me, not after everything we have been through together" the girl's eyes welled with tears but she nodded and stuffed her mouth with Percy's flannel.
He wrapped his arms around her from the side, where he was sitting and placed a kiss in the hair before counting down.
"3...2..." the boy didnt get to 1 before he pulled her up so she was sitting not laying down and with the movement came muffled screams and tears that flowed down the girls face. He was whispering sweet nothings in her ear as she lent into him and he repeatedly kissed her hair or forehead.
"I'm sorry sunshine, I really am. When you're all better I promise you can hit me" he tried to uplift her but she could barely hear him. Her body shook and agony filled her every sense. He couldn't even express the guilt and regret he felt for the girl, immediately grabbing the nectar, and slowly taking his flannel out of her mouth.
"You're doing great sweetheart" he says while slowly pouring the nectar into her mouth. Her head is resting against his shoulder as she swallows the drink down in small sips. After she drank it, Percy put it away and the girl began to close her eyes.
"Hey, hey, sunshine you can't be doing that right now. Come on I need to patch you up and then we need to get back to camp, I'll call blackjack. I know how much you like riding on him" he lifts her head off his shoulder and places her on the tree, but this time sitting up so he has easy access to her abdomen.
She opened one eye and slightly smiled at the boy.
"You're gonna call blackjack?" the girl asked a bit delirious but seemingly in less pain. This brought a instant smile to him as he let out a chuckle, nodding his head while grabbing gauze and 2 bandage rolls.
"I promise I will, but you have to make sure to keep fighting okay. Once this is over, I have something special to tell you" He came loser to the girl and her breath slowed for a moment.
He looked at her abdomen and a thought crossed his head that made blood rush to his cheeks, he was thankful the girl was delirious and it was dark or else he would simply wallow away. He cleared his throat and looked back up to the girl.
"I'm going to have to cut your shirt off so I can access the cuts and clean them properly" he looked into her eyes once but couldnt face her after that.
"okay" she whispered in return, locking her eyes onto his every move.
The boy went back into his bag and grabbed a pair of scissors then faced the girl again. He could feel her watchful eyes on him the entire time and he hated to say it but that small voice in the back of his head was wishing she was a bit more delirious right now so he wasnt under her scrutiny while undressing her. Clearing his throat again, he begins to speak.
"Just tell me when to slow down or when to stop, if it gets too painful for you and I'll stop and slow down, okay" he looked to her for reassurance and an okay, to which she nodded.
He didn't know how to position himself so he just opted for kneeling next to her, facing her. He then grabbed the scissors and started to cut her top. Starting from the bottom to the top. As he reached the first claw mark the girl hissed as the shirt was stuck to the wound due to all the dried blood. Percy automatically stopped what he was doing.
"No, no, keep going, don't stop now otherwise we will never get this done and I can't go back to camp cause I'll be dead" her honey-brown eyes were glossed with tears and the boy just wanted to hold her in his arms until the end of time in a place where they aren't fighting monsters all the damn time and in a place where they can settle down, have fun and just enjoy their life like regular teenagers.
"Don't say that so casually, you are not going to die. Not when you have me. Not when I'll always be here for you, patching you up, nursing you back to health forever. I will never in a million years let you die. I swear on the river Styx."
She couldn't say anything to him, he will always render her speechless. She just nodded her head as tears cascaded down her cheeks to which he wiped away and placed a kiss on her forehead. Feeling the warmth off eachother brought a sense of peace to them that no one else could ever fill.
He finished wiping her tears away and then continued cutting her shirt away from the wound. Every time she hissed, winced or flinched, the boy had the overwhelming urge to stop everything he was doing as long as it stopped bring her more pain. Whenever this would happen, the girl would softly squeeze his knee, as her hand was resting there to make sure he was still close to her and was still okay and breathing.
This reassured him immensely but it did not stop him from the guilt that was drowning him. This would not have happened if it wasn't for him. She would not be in this position right now if he just chose someone else to go on the quest with. She had almost died due to his decision making. He chose her, he told her the plan, the plan that put her straight into danger, he didnt even second guess his choice, he put her into the battlefield without even asking her properly. Whatever he said went.
The boy had not realised that during his intense self-loathing session, he zoned out and stopped the task at hand.
"Perce?" the girl asked while bringing her hand from his knee to his bicep. "Are you okay? whats going on in your kelp filled brain?" she said with a half smile as the boy looked up at her.
"Nothing, its okay. Just zoned out for a sec" he replied in an instant, looked away from her and continued to cut her shirt away. He was almost at her breasts and he could feel himself getting a bit hot. Obviously, there was no reason to in this situation but just being so close and intimate to her in a non sexual way made him flustered, he couldn't even imagine of it was in a sex- STOP. He shouted at his brain.
She let out a whimper of pain and a few laboured breaths as Percy carefully peeled her shirt of off the biggest wound she had. Her hand squeezed his knee harder than he would have liked her to but it didnt matter, not anymore, not when he caused this, not when he was the reason for her pain.
He finally got it off the biggest cut and last cut and now he just had to cut the rest of the shirt off. No big deal right?
WRONG.
The boy was telling himself to suck it up and just cut the rest of her shirt off but he was flustered. It was times like this that made him remember he was just a boy. He was just a boy with a silly crush. Except it isnt a 'silly crush' he was utterly in love with the girl. He tried to clear his head and at the same time, cleared his throat while he cut higher.
He could feel her eyes watching him, he could feel how fast her heart was racing and he could feel how fast his own was racing. It was as though their hearts were in sync. Every beat was the same.
Yes the girl felt flustered in this situation, she also couldn't help but want to tease the boy she loved. The girl had always grown up with a life where she never 'loved' anyone, not truly. To her love was always a very strong word in her dictionary but whatever she felt for Percy Jackson it was so powerful she felt as though she needed a word more meaningful than love.
A word that expressed how everytime she thought of him, that specific memory of him will be branded in her brain forever to the point where even Hera could never make her forget him or forget the way he makes her feel.
He makes her feel alive, the most alive shes every felt in her 16 years of life.
"Are you blushing water boy?" the girl asked him with a half smile on her face and eyes half opened as she felt a sharp pain run through her, while also trying to control her own breathing at the same time. Percy didn't respond, he only kept cutting her shirt off, fingers lightly brushing over the material of her bra.
She held her breath when he did that, whether it was on purpose of not, the feeling it sent through her body made her want to repeatedly bash her head against a solid wall while ripping her eyes out... in a good way of course.
Percy finally cut her shirt fully off and it just slid down her arms and bunched at the bottom, near the tree. She felt exposed and could feel the goosebumps on her exposed skin. Percy didn't waste any time and grabbed a clean towel and his water bottle.
Before he could drenched it in water, she stopped him by kicking him with her uncompromised leg to indicate he needed to stop. This instantly stopped him and caused him to look at her.
"Give me the water bottle before you soak the towel, if the water is warm it will work better and not hurt as much so i'll just heat it up" Percy thought about it for a second before he retaliated.
"You already aren't well enough to get off the ground, how on earth are you going to make it back to camp if you drain yourself of more energy. I know its going to hurt but it will either way, but getting you back to camp is the priority at the moment" Percy didnt want to say those words to the girl, he felt so bad for her and he couldn't help but blame himself. And when he looked into her eyes, like really looked into her eyes after he said that, he wished he could take it back.
Just looking at her made him want to give into her.
"I can take it, I promise, I'll be okay enough to get back to camp, but I'm telling you now Percy, if I feel anymore extreme pain, I will just end up passing out. Please just let me do this." she tried to move closer to the boy but forgot about the fact that she literally could not move a single inch without his help.
This just lead the boy to wrap his arm around her back and lent her against the tree again. He looked at her with a stern look.
"Okay, you win. But you have to promise on the river Styx that you will preserve every other bit of your energy for the ride back home."
"I swear on the River Styx that I will preserve every other bit of my energy for the ride back to camp" He gave her one last look before giving her the water bottle. She focused some most of her energy to her hands and they started to glow. She took the bottle from percy's hand and he could feel the warmth radiate off of her.
He looked at her in awe but if anyone else was there they would have told you that the boy was love struck. She opened her eyes and made sure to not boil the water. As it was simmering, she gave the bottle back to the boy and he instantly uncapped it and poured the, now warm, water onto the towel.
"This is going to hurt... a lot, and by a lot i mean a lot, you might want to brace yourself" the boy said as he gave his flannel back to her and some ambrosia for her to eat before they start the painful part of fixing her up.
Aurora took both and muttered a small thanks under her breath before eating the ambrosia which was very pleasant to chew and then stuffed percy's flannel in her mouth again. She felt so weird but if she didnt and someone heard her scream bloody murder, they would get caught and the police would want them... again.
His ocean blue eyes met her honey eyes and he shared a look of regret and guilt before he wiped the dried blood away, starting from the bottom of her abdomen. She instantly clenched her jaw and recoiled as agony ran through her and her hand immediately shot out to grab Percy's wrist in a painfully tight hold to stop him from further cleaning the wounds that caused her pain.
"Sunshine, I know its painful, but I have to do this, I'm going to do this as fast and gently as I can but I will have to be rough at times" he gently takes his freehand to clasp over hers and took it of him and intertwined them while speaking to her.
In his favour, it seemed that the energy it took the girl to warm the water up finally caught up with her as her hand lost most of its grip and her eyes closed slightly. He chuckled slightly and placed her hand back down next to her before continuing what he was doing.
He carefully but efficiently cleaned the areas surrounding her wounds while she was rejuvenating. He would hear muffled noises from time to time but other than that she was essentially knocked out. As he finished she seemed to feel less tired and her eyes opened wider than they did before.
"I'm almost finished sunshine, did you like your nap?" the boy questioned with a smirk but deep down he was glad that she kept her promise and she would have enough energy to go back to camp.
The girl nodded and looked at her abdomen. It was really clean and the wounds were barely bleeding anymore but she was fucking freezing. She shivered a little bit and percy could tell instantly.
"I've just got to bandage you up then you can put a jumper on. Okay?" he reassured her while taking the sterile dressing, he placed it over the 4 slashes and began to unwrap the dressing to bandage her up.
They both soon found the position to be quite awkward.
Percy needed to bandage her whole abdomen which needed him to wrap the dressing over her back but she was lent up against the tree without a shirt on and unable to move to do it herself. He stopped to think of a good way to do this.
"Okay, I've got it. I'll lean you up against me and bandage your abdomen from behind." The girl thought for a bit before she agreed and the boy got up so he was only seen in her peripheral vision. He hooked his arms under hers and moved her along the ground to sit inbetween his legs. The position felt very compromising for both of them but it needed to be done.
She could feel his warm breath on her cold neck and she felt the urge to pass away because if thats how she passed, she would not mind. She held her breath as Percy begun wrapping her abdomen, she could barely feel the pain cause all she could think about and feel was him.
His breath on her neck, his fingers brushing her skin, how carefully he was handling her, like she would break at the wrong touch. He was everything she wanted, everything she needed. Everything they both deserved.
He quickly finished wrapping her up and he mentally called Blackjack from where ever he was right now. Before he could move or start to get things sorted he just looked at Aurora. She was peaceful. She looked ethereal under the moonlight, though she did look better under direct sunlight.
He decided to just stay still for a bit and wrapped an arms around the girl loosely as to not injure or hurt her more. They just needed some rest, no matter how long or short it was.
Both Aurora and Percy could hear the flap of Blackjacks wings so he quickly moved the girl back to lean against the tree while he packed everything away. Not before making sure to torniquet the girls leg where the wood piece was still protruding out of it. He made the decision before to not take it out as they both did not know how severe the injury underneath it was.
Percy grabbed a warm, woolly jumper from his bag and a blanket and gave both items to the girl before zipping it up.
"I'm going to find your bag and your bracelet before we leave, and before you say anything. I'm going to call Blackjack here to be with you before I look for them" he stated as he got up.
"Thanks a lot Perce, but before you look, how am I meant to put this jumper on without raising my arms and disrupting my bandages" Percy felt like an idiot. He dropped his bag back on the ground and knelt next to her carefully putting the jumper through one arms hole, then the next, then her head through.
Percy would never admit it there and then but he always loved when the girl would wear his clothes. It sent a warm fuzzy feeling through him knowing she was wearing his clothes, especially when she was willingly wearing his clothes.
Similarly, Aurora would never admit it there but having Percy help her get changed into his clothes and help clean her up made her fall even more in love with him if that was even possible. She felt as though she was just falling into deep pit everytime he did anything for her or even just looked her way.
He finished by wrapping her up in the blanket and chuckled when he saw how she looked... Exactly like a burrito.
Blackjack came down and the girls eyes instantly widened at the sight of the creature. To which the boy just smiled at. Before he left to retrieve her bag and bracelet which were very easy to find. He quickly arrived back to the girl and Pegasus and was met with an adorable sight.
The Pegasus was on the floor next to the girl and was almost hugging her with its wing. Percy didnt think he could fall in love with the girl again but she has gone and proved him wrong, like always.
"I've got your things sunshine, and I know its going to hurt but I'm going to have to pick you up to put you on Blackjack. Is that okay?" He knelt next to her and she nodded.
He wrapped an arm around her back and one under her knees, making sure not to hit the piece of wood and picked the girl up, quite easily, bridal style. It make them both feel fuzzy and warm inside. Even blackjack could feel the warmth.
He placed her sitting on the Pegasus so she would be infront of him when he got on. He then grabbed both of their bags and got onto blackjack himself.
"You'd normally need to hold on tight to blackjack but I'll hold you okay? Just rest" The boy whispered in her ear as he gave her a peck on her cheek while she slowly drifted off and leaned her head back onto the boy's shoulder.
"Blackjack, No crazy flying today. We aren't at war today, its a rest day. Just take us back to camp, quick but not to the point we normally fly." Blackjacks reply left Percy with pink staining his cheeks and they made their way back to camp.

OCEAN EYES PT. 2
Summary: In which the son of the God of thieves, is head over heels in love with the daughter of the sea God.
Warnings: possible grammar mistakes, dark Luke.
Pairing: Luke x daughter of Poseidon x Little brother Percy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ella could remember quite clearly her life with her parents, her life before camp, her life before Luke, her life revolved around training with her father every morning before dawn, learning to use her powers and the other half of her time was spent with her mother Amphitrite learning how to rule and care for a kingdom, it was overwhelming for a little girl, but at such point in time Ella was more than content with making her beloved Godly parents proud.
Ella's mind raced as she made her way down the path towards the office, the sweet and awkward little boy she had met only a few days prior was her little brother, her father had fathered another bastard, a son.
Ella couldn't help but feel hurt by her father's infidelity once again towards her mother, but Percy was a nice boy him being her brother wasn't going to change the fact that he was also the victim of her father's actions or now their father's action.
She knew Amphitrite was not one bit bothered by her husband's company but to father two forbidden children was most certainly crossing Zeus line, Poseidon would not be forgiven, war will come, Percy was not prepared to wage war against the gods maybe Ella and her father were but the young boy wasn't.
Making her way up the stairs of the opened office Mr. D eye's met her's a stressed look fully displayed on his mature face, "Oh look who's here the woman of the hour" called out the God, Percy quickly wiped around to face his sister.
Percy Jackson was lost, a wave of different emotions had overwhelmed him since he had been claimed, but when he saw her his heart pained to know this entire time at camp he had felt alone and his sister had been right in from of him this entire time.
"Dionysus, Chiron, Grover" greeted the girl with respect, she could feel the tension rise in the room, Grover stoop silently in the corner after his outburst he wasn't sure he should intervene in such conversation any more.
Ella turned to finally face the boy who's eyes had been boring into her soul since the very moment she step foot in the room, "Percy" she breathed out, and for the first time in her life Ella was speechless.
Chiron and Mr. D shared a look before Chiron spoke to break the tension between the sibling. "Marella maybe you should show Percy to his new cabin..." he trailed off, "of course" replied the girl smiling softly at Percy, he wasn't to blame after all.
"I suppose the cabin was getting quite lonely after all" she added, to which Percy smiled, before he trailed behind her as they left. Making their way down toward the Hermes cabin Percy walked next to the girl, an awkward silence falling over the pair.
"Did you know?" asked Percy breaking the silence, "No, I didn't, I've always been aware of our father's affairs but I never knew he'd fathered another forbidden child" stated the girl, Percy came to a halt causing Ella to slowly stop in her tracks, "What's wrong?" she asked, "look I know this is gonna sound weird but since the very first moment I met you I've felt this connection, I don't really know how to explain it's like if you and I were connected, and I didn't understand the feeling until now, you've been nothing but nice to me since we've met and I don't want you to hate me" pleaded her brother.
Ella took a few steps closer coming face to face with the desperate boy, "Us being sibling does not change how I feel towards you or care for you Percy, that feeling you felt was mutual, it's like father always says, water holds memory, it was him trying to tell us from the very beginning" stated Ella lifting her hand to Percy's face, her delicate fingers brushing over his cheeks.
Percy's eyes bore into hers, "From now on we are one, you are my brother, my blood, whoever wishes to harm you shall have to go through me first little brother, even if that means waging war against Zeus to keep you alive" stated the girl.
Percy's eyes overflowed with tears, he had felt so very alone and abandoned since the moment he had arrived at camp he thought his father had turned his back on him, but instead Poseidon had gifted him a sister, a loving and beautiful sister to care and protect him.
Ella gave Percy a sad smile before she embraced him in a hug the boy ducked his head into his sister's neck sobbing his heart out to his now found sibling, for once in the longest time Percy Jackson felt safe.
From a distance Luke stood on the porch of the Hermes Cabin, watching them, pure jealousy raging in the Hermes boy's eyes, Percy was her sibling but yet Luke couldn't help but feel the overwhelming feeling of jealousy overtaking his body, he desired nothing more than to be Percy in that very moment, he wanted her to wipe his tears away, to hug him, and rub his back in comfort, he would keep her to himself matter what it took.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Walking back into the Hermes cabin was a different type of experience for Percy now, everyone looked at him differently, with respect maybe, or was it pity? or maybe even fear, Ella made her way into the cabin at her brother's side, her arm interloped with her brother's until they reached the spot where his stuff where.
Percy let go of his sister careful as if in any given second she would just disappear into thin air, picking up his things he tried avoiding the chattering from all kid's around him, "Hey princess" called out a familiar voice causing Percy to glance back at his sister.
He watched Luke approach her from behind wrapping his arm around the girl as if he owned her, their interactions had never bothered Percy before but yet now Percy couldn't help but feel bothered by Luke's proximity to his older sister.
"Hi love" she smiled up at him, leaning up to her tiptoes to press a soft kiss on to Luke's scar causing the Hermes boy to flush, "How've you guys been?" he asked with a small stutter because of his nerves, "We're doing just fine, I have a feeling we're gonna get along quite well" stated Ella with a pretty smile provoking butterflies to flutter in Luke's stomach.
Luke Castellan wasn't one to enjoy being powerless, but yet when he was with Ella he had never felt weaker, he loved the addicting feeling of her attention on him. "That's great princess, I'm happy you guys are getting along" said Luke, lying, at first he had found Percy's fondness for his girl amusing, but now Luke was much more bothered than ever.
Percy quickly threw his stuff into his bag finally zipping it up standing to his feet, facing the pair with an awkward smile, he watched his friend mutter something into his sister's ear causing her to smile and nod as if she was confirming something, "you done Pers?" asked Ella.
"Yup"
"Alright then, I'll see you later handsome" said Ella slowly releasing herself from Luke's arms causing the older boy to pount and Percy to cringe, Ella began walking away as Luke refused to let go of her, soon enough he did standing there like a lovestruck fool letting Percy walked past him.
"Hey Percy" called out Luke, causing Percy to stop and face him "Don't be a stranger, if you ever need help don't be afraid to ask" said Luke with a smile, to which Percy nodded, "Yeah thanks, I won't."
"Good."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Walking into their cabin Percy stood amazed at the entrance watching the beautiful fountain in the middle and the carvings of Poseidon and other greek engravings that were displayed on the wall, his eyes scanned his sister's half of the cabin where their were hand painted paintings of the sea on some parts of the walls.
There was a huge double bed remaining beautifully adorned with white sheets, an elegant dark blue head-bed with gold embroideries and an unhealthy amount of sea animal plushies, and around the bed were white curtains that were neatly hung around the pretty bed display, it looked like something out of his mother's dreams.
His new cabin was most definitely better than the Hermes cabin, there was a small section with a desk and a book shelf in the farther corner of the room, and on the other side of the cabin were shelves of different weapons and vintage fishing gears on display.
"The other half of the cabin is all yours, I've asked Dionysus to order you a new bed, it'll be arriving sometime next week, so for now you can sleep on the bed with me if you like" offered Ella, "It's alright, I'm good with the taking the floor, I wouldn't want to cause you any discomfort" said Percy his eyes scanning over every souvenir on the shelves.
Ella chuckled at Percy's enchanted state, "You know when I first got here this place was a mess, no one had stayed in here for ages and all this stuff was just thrown around, but with time the Hermes and Hephaestus boys helped me fix up the place" explained Ella, "Oh well that's very nice of them" said Percy finally removing his bag to place it on the floor on his half of the room.
"You know you are more than welcomed to use my desk and books whenever you like little one, everything here is as much yours as they are mine"
"Thank you Ella, really I appreciate it all" said Percy with a grateful look, "I um have a question tho, its kind of off topic" continued Percy, "I'm listening" replied Ella taking a seat on her soft bed.
"You and Luke, are you guys like a thing, like officially?" asked the sea prince, "Luke and I are complicated, we both have feelings for each other but our pride won't allow either of us to confess, besides I've known Luke for years and he's always been there for me, him Chris and even Annabeth, he was there for me when I needed him the most and if we don't work out I don't think I could ever live with myself" Ella said mumbling out the last part under her breath.
"That makes sense, but if he tries something you don't like you tell me, because if he hurts my sister he'll have to deal with me" said Percy causing Ella to laugh, this was most definitely going to be interesting.

﹒✸﹕DEAR DIARY ... word has begun to spread around camp: my mother, hecate, is a coward and traitor. she has joined the forces of kronos and luke castellan even after being visited by mr. d himself. we already lost alabaster torrington to the same forces just a few months ago and everyone looks at lou ellen, zeke, and i like we are the next to betray the olympians. now with hecate joining them, the stares are only getting worse and the rest of the hermes cabin have turned their backs on us. chiron says there is nothing to worry about because he trusts us to remain on their side. i hope he is right. i can't handle anymore betrayal. — mirabel kwon.

Percy Jackson Icks
As your s/o
Immature and impatient when youre busy talking to someone and will interrupt the convo just to get a word in.
Will mope if you spend too long in a conversation with someone and will in a way pout, but dont want to tell you whats wrong and then dramatically walk out of the room without looking back.
Sometimes will smile and stare at a person in a judgemental way. If you point it out he wont change his facial expression but keep looking at you in a fake-friendly way without shame.
Will try to act sexy, hours before planning and imagining it out but then deciding to just go for it, then get frustrated if you dont go according to his plan (I mean if you dont tilt your head the way he imagined it, which throws him off).
Wont clean his room. If you clean it for him, wont say thank you and will mess it up again without realising it and wont understand what the problem is.
Cant be serious when it he needs to be. on a mission, yes. during war, sure. serious convo? no. will make sarcastic comments to the point where you get annoyed af but hes too dense to understand why.
When you explain something to him that he doesnt agree with, he will keep asking why in such a stupid way it makes you question his mental age sometimes.
If he doesnt agree with you and wont argue, he will sheepishly smile and scratch his head while giving you a smile with his eyebrows raised: which looks just like that judgemental smile he does to people every-now-and-then so you arent sure if hes being genuienly polite or if hes just judging you.
His judgemental look isnt another problem. Its the cocky-grin or smirk he does every so often, which seems hot when its against other people but is such an ick during a argument with him because it makes you feel like he isnt listening to you.
Ick is that he doesnt argue back very often. Will defend himself at first but gets so frustrated with you and his ability to articulate himself so he just stares at you, mouth in a thin line, just continously shaking his head--LIKE COME ON JUST ARGUE NRTBHEVRJF drives me up the wall.

meeting the parents. jason grace x eros daughter
jason and eros' only half-blood daughter are in love
everyone knew that about them but they refused to admit that it was true to everyone, each other and themselves
then they 'accidentally' sleep with each other one night
despite trying to be the perfect and detached leader, jason can't help but confess first
not only is she the most beautiful girl that he has ever seen, but she pushes him to be the best version of himself. she's caring but biting. she's excited him since the day he met her. and she is really good in bed so
and she thinks his arms are sexy
then comes parent day, one day a year where all the gods are forced to spend the full day on earth with their children
as the only daughter of eros and with jason being one of zeus' only children, zeus and eros decide to take them out for a nice meal
zeus and eros aren't keen on each other, because eros keeps trying to shoot arrows at him and human ladies to piss off zeus' wife hera
soo it's a bit awkward
'i can't believe you're in love with a boy who looks like he should be on a cereal box.'
jason almost spits out his water.
'dad,' she hisses.
'it's like dating peter pan on steroids.'
'nice,' jason jokes.
'don't push it, eros,' she hisses again.
'they're barely dating. of course my son is going to be drawn to a barbie doll.'
'don't talk about her like that,' jason says sternly.
'it's not bad to admit that. she's shiny. it's a good break for you, son.'
jason shakes his head. 'you're such a --'
eros ignores what zeus says and continues to her. 'i know you're in love with him. i can feel how much you do, trust me, and i know he loves you more -- obviously -- but you should still keep your options open.'
zeus puffs his chest. 'of course you're encouraging disloyalty, eros.'
'you're not exactly a saint, zeusy.'
'and whose fault is that?'
'the arrows don't force you to fall in love. they only make you do what you otherwise would if logic wasn't in the picture.'
'i'm already tired of being here.'
'then you shouldn't have made the plan.'
'i had to. you would have taken them to a brothel otherwise.'
'fuck off.'
and so zeus and eros argue
jason and her look at each other. she grasps his hand.
'i'm sorry.'
'no, i'm sorry. your hair is very shiny, but i love you for a lot more than that.'
'really now?' she teases.
'yeah. i like your face, your body, your lips...'
'very funny, grace.'
'i'm more than my looks as well, you know.'
'i don't know. i think he's right about you looking like peter pan. the buffer, sexier, more stupid version.'
'ha-ha-ha.'
'i am sorry, jase. you'd think my dad being the god of love and affection would mean he'd be nice.'
'don't be sorry. they're gods. they're always going to think they're right.'
'but they're our fathers.'
'even more reason for them to think they're right.'
'i love you.'
'i love you more. your dad's not wrong about that part.'
suddenly they notice it is really quiet around them. both zeus and eros are staring at them, having listened to part of their conversation. they seem to be a little bit shocked, but regain their composure quickly. eros ends up smirking, folding his arms on his chest and leaning back as he stares at them. zeus watches them with curiosity, eating an olive.
'what?' he asks. 'what is it?'
'have you two picked what you want to eat?' zeus asks, motioning to the menu.
'i thought you guys wanted to leave,' she says.
'it just happens that you're obsessed with each other,' cupid explains. 'i should at least try to find out why.'
zeus nods. that's the first time that they agree with each other. both of their heads dart towards the menu as they bicker over what food they're going to get.
jason smiles softly and holds her hand. she is a bit in shock now.
'guess we're hard to deny,' he says.
'we? i'm the shiny one,' she jokes, squeezing his hand back.

chapter twenty-seven | the dam thing
percy jackson x fem reader
Tumblr media
Sadness was very, very tiring.
Your skin burned with the heat of the sun beating through the truck window, sitting with your knees to your chest. Percy and Grover had chosen to sit in the tow wench part of the stolen truck Thalia drove, while you sat up front with Zoe and Thalia.
You couldn’t take your eyes off the junkyard as Thalia drove, watching it get further and further away. She didn’t seem as bothered as you or Percy, or even Grover, like the death of Bianca hadn’t affected her even a little bit.
The boys’ voices flowed through the back and into the front, mumbling that you were unable to understand. You looked down at your hands; the tiny figurine that cost Bianca her life lay in your palms. Ironically, the one Nico didn’t have was Hades, the god of death. The dark hair, and the stony face he wore gave away which god he was.
Something settled on your chest. What were you supposed to say to Nico? What were you going to tell Chiron when you went back to camp? You’d made a plan—an awful one—that sent Bianca straight to her death. They’d hate you. Everyone would hate you.
In the back of your mind, you thought maybe it wasn’t your fault. Yes, you had the idea, but it was an idea you’d been intending to put to use yourself. You hadn’t forced Bianca to carry it out. You hadn’t even told her to go ahead with it. In retrospect, it hadn’t been your fault.
But you carried the guilt anyway.
Annabeth was right, Maybe you were claimed by the wrong goddess. You certainly weren’t smart by any means if you’d gotten a friend killed. And it wasn’t the first time you’d put Bianca in danger—your stunt at Westover had nearly sent you all plummeting to your deaths off the edge of a cliff.
“You think too hard,” said Zoe beside you.
You looked up. She was pale in the face, and looking out at the road ahead. “What?”
“It was not your fault. Do not think it was.”
Thalia glanced over. You swallowed hard, throat closing up.
“But it was,” you objected. “I had the plan. I was going to do what Bianca did. If anyone should be dead, it should be me.”
Zoe looked completely outraged. “Don’t say that. What happened to Bianca is terrible, but that does not mean you should have taken her place. It is as the prophecy decided. We could not control her actions or her decisions.”
That doesn’t make it any better, you thought.
The truck ran out of gas just as you approached a dead-end street, much to Thalia’s irritation. You all jumped out, Thalia slamming the door shut. One of the tyres burst immediately and began letting air out.
“Great,” she said. “What now?”
There wasn’t much to see or say about the area. Desert in every direction, barren mountains everywhere. The canyon in the distance was the only interesting thing, and a small river flowing down the middle.
“There’s a path,” Grover said. “We could get to the river.”
You squinted in the light. Very faintly you made out the outline of a small path winding down the cliff side.
“That’s a goat path,” said Percy.
Grover turned to him. “So?”
“So the rest of aren’t goats.”
“We can make it,” goat-boy assured. “I’m sure of it.”
A beat of silence caused you to look at Percy. He looked worn out, and a little tired, but determined. “No,” he said. “We’ll go farther upstream.”
“But—” Grover frowned.
“Come on, a walk won’t hurt us.” He looked at Thalia, and she held his stare for a second. You looked between them both; what was that about?
You shook it off, and let the others go up ahead. The quiet might do you some good, you felt—it gave you time to think things through.
Percy didn’t feel the same, clearly.
He looked back at you, slowing until he was at the back with you. You spared him a glance, focusing on the hills ahead of you. Not too far now.
“You okay?” He asked quietly.
You hummed. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
Percy shrugged his shoulders briefly. “I don’t know. You’re just quiet.”
“I’m tired, Percy,” you sighed. “I want to go home, now.”
You turned your head, to find him already looking at you. The blood rushed to your face, and you looked away. But…you couldn’t not look at Percy for too long. So you glanced back. Those bright green eyes flickered across your face and eyes, and you paid attention to the way his hair was a little sweaty and more tamed than it usually would be.
“I was thinking,” he said. “Did you want to stay over this summer? At my place? My mom wants to meet you. And it would be fun. We could get, like, takeout and stuff.”
You blinked. A little bit of sunshine made a hole in the dark, and your mouth quirked. “Sure, it’d be fun.” Was all you could think to say.
Percy’s expression faltered an inch, barely noticeable if you hadn’t grown used to the emotions he wore on his sleeve. He nodded once, and his smile was tight.
You wanted to invite Percy over to your place in return. You imagined running down the beaches with him, entirely in his element, and showing him a cove you had discovered one day, the path memorised. But you had left things unsettled at home, and the very thought of going back was too much at the moment, anxiousness spiking your veins.
The rest of the walk, you trained your eyes on the ground, following the river’s dips and splashes. It made the walk go by faster, and when you looked up, almost walking into Thalia. You were about to voice your question, when you sets your sights on the locked-up cabin with a canoe sale sign up outside the front shutters. The ground gently sloped, and the water ran more fiercely along.
Percy turned to you. In the middle of the desert, his eyes shone like stars. “You got a pen and paper?”
Of course you did.
Percy left a stack of drachmas on the countertop outside, and a ragged note beneath them: I O U 3 canoes.
“We need to go upstream,” Zoe said. She sounded like she was suffering from a terrible cold. “The rapids are too swift.”
“Leave that to me,” Percy decided. Nobody questioned him.
You quickly discussed who had which canoe—Percy and Zoe (you’d nearly argued over that one), Thalia and yourself, and Grover in his own.
Once, you never would have had a clue about canoes or rapids or how to get into one without tipping over. But camp had prepared you well, and there wasn’t much fuss getting in them. You held the canoe to the shore with the ore and…was something moving under it?
“Hey, Percy,” you turned your head, looking to him. But he spoke quietly with Zoe, so you left it.
You all got ready (and by ready, you meant, you argued with Thalia for the front seat, and won).
You found you weren’t actually going stir-crazy.
The canoes were pushed forward so forcefully you almost fell out of it, actually laughing when all you could see of Grover were his hooves in the air. When you recovered, you took a peek over the edge and into the water, looking past your reflection: naiads.
You knew what it was before you even saw it fully. After a while, the large monument before you came into view.
“Hoover Dam,” you voiced. “Built in the 1930’s.”
“It’s huge,” Thalia awed.
The naiads stopped pushing, and everyone climbed out onto the river’s edge. When the naiads swam away, the canoes gently floated back downstream, pushed by the current.
You stood together, looking up.
“Seven hundred feet tall,” Percy commented.
“Five million cubic acres of water,” Thalia hummed.
“Largest construction project in the United States,” Grover sighed.
Zoe looked at you all like you were crazy. “How do you know all that?”
“Annabeth,” Grover tilted his head.
“She was crazy over architecture. Gods, try getting some sleep in the same cabin as her.”
“Spouted facts all the time,” Thalia said. “Annoying as hell.”
“I wish she were here,” Percy said.
You didn’t have it in you to be annoyed. Because you felt the same way. In a sense, it felt like a mean joke from the world—you’d stopped in one of Annabeth’s dream locations, and she wasn’t able to see it.
“We should go up there.” Percy said. “For her sake. Just to say we’ve been.”
“We don’t have a great track record with heights.”
Percy just grinned.
“You are mad,” said Zoe. “But that is where the road is. And so, sightseeing it is.”
“It’s cold,” you sang. “It’s cold and windy and why are we just standing here?” You pivoted to Zoe, flaying your hands. You side-eyed Grover; he sniffed the air, shifted uncomfortably. “I mean, clearly monsters are coming.”
“How close are they?” Percy asked.
Grover shook his curly head. “Maybe not close…the wind from the dam, and the desert all around…scent could probably travel for miles. But it’s coming from almost everywhere. I don’t like it.”
“There’s a snack bar in the visitor centre,” said Thalia.
Percy’s eyebrows knit together. “You’ve come here before?”
“Once, to see the guardians,” she pointed across the dam, where carved into the cliff were two big statues. In the back of your mind, something felt familiar, maybe something you’d learned in school. “They were dedicated to Zeus when the dam was built; a gift from Athena.”
Tourists were clustered around the statues, seemingly looking at…their feet?
“What are they doing?” You asked.
“Rubbing the toes.”
You gagged.
“They think it brings good luck,” Thalia said.
“Why?”
She shrugged. “Mortals get crazy ideas. They don’t know the statues are sacred to Zeus, but they know there’s something special about them.”
Percy hummed. “When you were here last, did they talk to you or anything?”
Thalia’s expression darkened. “No. They don’t do anything. They’re just statues.”
Just statues brought a hot flame to your heart. Once again, you were reminded of Bianca. How you wished that one had been just a statue.
“Let us find the dam snack bar,” Zoe interrupted your saddening thoughts. You raised your head, blinking away the cloud cover.
Grover cracked a smile. “The dam snack bar?”
Zoe blinked innocently. “Yes. What is so funny?”
“Nothing,” he tried to keep a straight face. “I could use some dam French fries.”
Even Thalia smiled. “I could use the dam restroom.”
Percy snickered. And you broke, showing a smile. Eye contact with Grover proved to be a bad idea—you both broke out laughing.
Zoe just looked between everyone. “I do not understand.”
“I want to use the dam water fountain,” you wiped your eyes, still laughing.
“And,” Thalia tried catching her breath. “I want to…buy a dam t-shirt.”
Percy burst out laughing, setting you off. Zoe was not amused; her face was stoic, if not a little annoyed. You opened your mouth to make a joke, and then—
“Did anyone else just hear a cow?” Percy had stopped laughing.
You snickered, finding humour in the weird situation.
“A dam cow?” Thalia laughed.
“No,” said Grover, seriously. “I heard it too.”
Zoe listened. “I hear nothing.”
“Percy, are you okay?” You asked. Was it heat stroke? Or maybe he was overtired? “There’s definitely no cows about, man.”
“Yeah. I’m fine. Just…you guys go ahead,” he said.
“What’s wrong?” Grover prodded.
“Nothing,” he shook his head. “I just need a minute. I need a minute to think.”
Zoe, Thalia and Grover headed off towards the visitor centre, and you were about to follow after them. But Percy looked…a little too confused for you to be happy leaving him on his own, especially hearing cows that weren’t there.
You trailed after him. Percy leaned on the rail that overlooked the water.
You came up beside him. “Do you want some water?”
Looking down at the water, Percy’s hand reached out and snaked around your arm, pulling you closer. Your eyes widened, but you didn’t resist.
“What—”
You followed his gaze downward, and couldn’t believe what you were seeing.
“Is that—”
Percy nodded. “Bessie.”
“Bessie?”
“Bessie the cow serpent.”
You looked at your friend. Your slightly stir-crazy friend. “That explains it all.”
Percy’s bring eyes practically shone looking at the sea creature. “What are you doing here? How did you get up here?”
A quick glance around showed nobody else could see this Bessie. Either that or they were all hoping it would go away if they avoided eye contact.
Bessie swam in a circle, long tail swishing, before bashing its head on the wall of the dam. “Mooooo!”
It was as if you were in a weird dream, quite frankly. A cow-sea-creature nobody but yourselves could see. But in this whole strange world of demigods and gods and monsters, was anything a real shock anymore?
But after the day you’d had so far, and Bianca’s passing, everyone felt like a big, fat joke on you.
“I can’t!” Percy exclaimed. “I’m with my friends!”
Bessie have an urgent moo, and dove underwater, swimming away.
Percy raised his head, green eyes meeting yours, and you hesitated on saying something. A weird chill settled on your spine, as if to say watch your back. You looked behind Percy, and froze. Two tall men in grey camouflage covered flickering skeletal bodies. And they were heading right for you.
“Gotta go,” you snatched up Percy’s hand. “Let’s go!”
You ran as fast as your legs would take you, lungs burning, toward the visitor’s centre. Percy skidded to a stop beside you as you slowed to fit through the entryway, and you didn’t have the time to pay attention to what it was he was looking at behind you. You bolted down the stairs, security yelling for you to slow down, but you paid them no heed. Your friends had no idea what was going on, and like hell would you let a repeat of what happened to Bianca happen.
Percy called your name behind you. “Wait up!” He yelled. “Slow down!”
“Like we have the time!” You called back, not caring if he heard. The ding of an elevator caught your attention. To your left, a group of tourists waited with a guide, and you took your chance, running across to it.
Just as you slid inside, Percy slid in behind you, and the doors closed with a ding. A few people looked your way, as you heaved for breath.
“We’ll be going down seven hundred feet!” The tour guide said cheerfully. Her dark hair was tied up in a long ponytail, and dark shades covered her eyes. “Don’t worry, ladies and gentlemen! The elevator hardly ever breaks!”
You could have rolled your eyes. Hardly ever—chances were, with your luck, the hardly ever part would happen to you.
“Does this go to the snack bar?” Percy asked behind you. A couple of people laughed. The tour guide looked your way, and shivers ran down your spine; you wished Percy had just kept his mouth shut. Your gut twisted.
“To the turbines, young man. Weren’t you listening to my interesting presentation upstairs?”
“Oh, uh, sure. Is there another way out of the dam?”
“It’s a dead end,” said an irritated-sounding tourist behind. You had half a mind to look them up and down for good measure, but refrained. “The only way out is the other elevator.”
With a ding, the elevator doors opened.
“Go right ahead,” the tour guide said. “Another ranger is waiting for you at the end of the corridor.”
You moved quickly, trying to get out of the small space.
“Young man!” The tour guide called. Percy gripped your arm. You turned back.
She’d taken off her sunglasses, twirling them in her hand, and you blanched. Her eyes were a startling grey. Just like yours. Just like Annabeth’s.
Something tugged in your stomach.
And something felt oddly familiar about this guide.
“There is always a way out for those clever enough to find it.”
She looked at you. She winked, the corner of her mouth curved in a sly smile just the way yours did.
Just the way yours did.
You blinked. Before you could give any thought to what just happened, the elevator doors closed, and the only sound you could focus on was the sound of skeleton chattering.
With Percy still attached to your arm, you ran after the tour group, through a weird-looking tunnel made of jagged stone that seemed to go on forever. The air was humid and hot, and when you came out the other end, fifty-feet below you were enormous wind turbines. It was almost enough to send you dizzy.
By this point, you slowed, and allowed yourself to think. You’d gotten here on spontaneous thoughts, but where did you go from here? Considering your line of bad experiences with your own ideas, maybe it was best to sit this part out, the part full of action, and let Percy take the lead. Playing hero wasn’t going so well, for you.
You looked around in a circle, almost feeling desperately lost, as if your body told you let someone else take over. Preferably, an adult. Someone to take this burden from you all. Because, at last, this quest was wearing you thin, and the lingering question and unease surrounding what happened to Bianca would simply not let up on you.
All you wanted now, was to go back to camp.
Percy, at your side, shoulders slumped, sighed. He span his sword, disguised as a pen, between his fingers. You turned to him.
“Look,” you breathed. “I think—”
Percy’s eyes shifted to behind you, and widened. You barely saw the quick sweep of his arm pushing you out of the way before you felt it, staggering aside.
“H-hey—!”
The gleam of his sword caught your eye, as he swiped it straight down. Almost falling back, you turned to the victim of his harsh death.
Except the girl wasn’t dead.
Just horrified.
And very human.
“What the hell?!” She screeched. “Do you always kill people when they open a packet of Kleenex?”
Both yourself and Percy could only blink at the girl, whose wild red hair danced in her eyes. She blew it away, huffing when it fell back.
“You’re human?” Percy frowned.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” The girl pulled a face. “Of course I’m human. How did you get that sword through security?”
Your jaw almost dropped. “Ohhhh boy.”
“You can see this?”
The girl rolled her eyes. Her nose was red as if she’d been aggressively wiping it like she had a cold, and jeans with holes all over, like she’d gotten bored in class. The inner stylist in you cringed.
“Well, it’s either a sword or the biggest toothpick in the world,” she scoffed. “And why didn’t it hurt me. Not that I’m complaining. And woah, are you wearing lion fur?” She reached her hand out to Percy’s coat.
At Percy’s lack of words, you looked to him, going to prompt him to explain. But he stood like a fish, mouth agape, staring at this girl. Jealousy ran through your body, and your jaw clenched.
“It’s none of your business, really,” you huffed. The girl’s eyes rolled over to you like she was bored. “I mean, we gotta go anyway, so…”
Percy raised his hand suddenly and snapped his fingers in the girl’s face. She went cross-eyed looking at them. “You don’t see a sword,” he said. “It’s a ballpoint pen.”
She scrunched her nose. “Uh, no. I’m pretty sure it’s a sword.”
You almost wanted to sock Percy in the arm. “Bro, what are you doing? We need to go.”
“Who are you?” Percy ignored you.
“Rachel Elizabeth Dare. Now are you going to answer my questions or am I going to call for security?”
“Uh, miss Rachel Elizabeth Dare,” you imitated poorly. Her face was a picture at your words. “We really have places to be. Percy, we need to go.”
“You in a hurry or trouble?” Rachel asked.
“Hurry.”
“None of your business.”
Percy blinked at you, talking over one another. He sighed.
Rachel coughed a little too loudly for your nerves. You slowly turned to her, ready to give this random girl a piece of your mind. She grabbed your arm and pushed you along.
“Bathroom, now!”
You tripped on a wet floor sign, knocking it down on your way in. You landed on the slimy floor, complaining under your breath. Your own voice was too loud at this point, but something else caught your attention in the background.
The chattering of skeletons.
“Oh my god! Did you see those kids! They just ran at me with swords! I think they went that way towards the wind turbines! You better hurry!”
The chattering grew quieter, and then a knock on the door. “You’re good!”
You emerged back into the public. Rachel Elizabeth Dare looked shaken and slightly pale.
“All clear, but you better go.”
Down the way, skeletons were running in the direction Rachel sent them.
“We owe you, Rachel,” Percy breathed.
“What are those things?”
“The skeletons?”
Rachel nodded uneasily.
“Do yourself a favor,” Percy replied grimly. “Forget it all. Forget you ever met us.”
“Forget you tried to kill me?”
“That too,” you quipped. Rachel side-eyed you. You looked her up and down.
“But who are you?” The question was, very obviously pointed at Percy.
“Percy—gotta go.”
Warmth wrapped your wrist, and pulled you along. Behind you both, Rachel Elizabeth Dare was whining. “What sort of name is Percy Gotta-Go?”
The cafe was packed with kids shouting and crying, and your heart felt about to burst from the run down here. You scanned the room. In the middle, at a round table, Thalia, Grover and Zoe sat with their food.
You ran over, a gross and sweaty mess, panting. You slammed your hands on the table so hard their trays shook. “We—gotta—go,” you heaved.
“But we just got our burritos!” Thalia said.
Zoe looked around. “No. She’s right. Let’s go.”
The cafe wrapped around the dam, giving your friends a good view of the skeletons that had come to kill you. And all of them were armed with batons and pistons. The more urgent problem now, though—the skeletons Rachel had spotted were making their way over. They began to advance.
“Elevator!” Grover gasped.
You all ran for your lives, and skidded to a stop as the elevator arrived on your level with a ding! You scrambled back, almost tripping on someone’s toes as more skeletons came out. You were completely surrounded.
And then…Grover’s brilliant mind surfaced a brilliant plan.
“Good fight!” He screamed.
And launched his burrito right at a skeleton’s face. His skull fell off his shoulders with a clatter, like he’d been taken out by a grenade and not a burrito.
It didn’t take very long for Grover’s plan to take off. Kids began throwing their food this way and that, and you couldn’t even be mad at the soda and chips in your hair because the skeletons couldn’t aim their guns, and you were soon just blurry faces in a raging crowd.
“Four against eleven. What now?”
“It’s been nice going with you guys,” Grover trembled.
“Woah, their toes are really bright?”
“Percy, that’s really weird.”
“Thalia, pray to your dad.”
Said girl glared at your best friend. “He never answers.”
“Just this once. Please just try!”
“No! He won’t answer me!”
“This time is different!”
“Says who?!”
Percy hesitated. “Athena—” your head snapped to him. “I think.”
Thalia scowled.
“Try it!” Grover begged.
Thalia closed her eyes, sighing visibly. Her mouth moved in silent prayer, and you gave thought to what Percy said.
The grey eyes. That weird feeling in your stomach. And the same smile…
Things like that couldn’t be just a coincidence, could they? And after how you had felt all day…was it weird to hope your mom might be giving you guidance?
You tried it too.
Mom. Please, if you can hear me, give us some guidance. Show us what to do. I can’t anymore.
The skeletons closed in, and so did your chest. It pulled tight in a way you had never felt before…was this impending doom?
You dug for your dagger and held it tight in your fist. Percy clutched his sword closer.
Just as you thought your heart was giving out, a shadow fell over you. In slight fear, you tilted back your head, mouth agape. Above you, stood the very statues you set your sights on earlier. The bronze angels. Bullets pinged off their wings like rain on a metal roof. Both angels swept their giant arms like bats, and the skeletons went flying.
“Man, it feels good to stand up!” One said. His voice sounded tinny.
“Will ya look at my toes?” The other said. “What we’re those tourists thinkin’?”
“Get us out of here!” Thalia yelled.
Both angels looked down at her. “Zeus’s kid?”
“Yes!”
“Could I get a please, Miss Zeus’s Kid?”
“Please get us out of here!”
The angels shrugged to one another. “Could give my wings a stretch?”
Next thing you knew, one swept up Percy and Thalia, the other Grover and Zoe, and before you could get left behind, you leapt for one’s wing, shoes scuffling as you pulled your way up to its shoulder.
And then you flew straight up, over the dam, away from the river and the trouble.
“Tell me when it’s over!” Thalia said from your left. A timid peak behind the angel’s head showed you Thalia with her eyes squeezed shut, holding on for dear life.
Not that you could blame her. This high up, with nothing to properly hold on to, you were feeling a little worried, too. You’d situated yourself just in the crook of the angel’s neck, on his shoulder, holding on to his ear of all things. Your arms were starting to go a little dead, but you weren’t taking any chances.
“Are we…high?” She asked.
Percy kicked his foot off the edge of the mountain below and shook his head. “Nah, not really.”
It depends who you asked. Even this high was enough for you.
“We are in the Sierras!” Zoe yelled from the other angel. “I have hunted here before. At this speed, we should be in San Francisco in a few hours!”
News which both delighted you and twisted your guts. You would either find your sister alive and well in a state you’d never forget.
“Hey, hey, Frisco!” The other angel yelled. “Yo, chuck, we should visit those other guys at the Mechanics Monument again! They know how to party!”
“Oh, man, I am so there!”
“You’ve visited San Francisco?” You raised a brow.
“We automatons gotta have some fun once in a while, right?” Yours said. “Those Mechanics took us over to the de Young Museum and introduced us to these marble ladies, and see—”
“Alright!” You exclaimed. “Feel free to stop there.”
“Hank!” The other angel, Chuck, laughed. “They’re kids, man.”
“Oh, right. Back to flying.”
They sped up. The snowy mountains fell away soon enough and transformed into farmland and roads, and then the city.
It turned quiet after a while. Thalia muttered to herself. Grover played his pipes quietly, and Zoe pegged a bullseye on ever my Target you passed.
“Hey.”
You looked down, with hesitancy. Percy was looking up.
“Sup?”
You pressed your lips together, thinking. “You think that was really my mom back there?”
He didn’t talk for a few seconds. “Maybe. I mean, I just…I had a feeling. But…”
Percy’s unsureness didn’t put yours off. Because the more you thought about it, the more you had a feeling you were right.
The angels landed on a ferry dock, once in San Francisco. You scared a homeless man, who ran off yelling about metal angels from mars.
Only when it was quiet and still, did you wonder what next?
You looked between your friends, all appearing as stuck as you.
What Percy said next struck you.
“Look, guys,” he said almost hesitantly. “I haven’t mentioned this before, but, uh, halfway down here, I had a dream. I talked to Apollo in it, and he said something about finding this monster.”
“What kind of monster?” Thalia eyeballed him.
“I’m not sure.” Percy shrugged. “He just said it would help us find our way. Nereus, I think he was called.”
“Nereus, eh?” Zoe pulled a disgusted face.
“The old man of the sea,” said Percy.
“You know him?” Asked Thalia.
“My mother was a sea goddess. Yes, I know him. Unfortunately he is very hard to find. Just follow the smell.”
You all strolled across the pier to a charity shop hosting cardboard boxes of free clothes for the homeless outside. You were confused as Zoe stopped outside of it and turned to face you all.
“Trust me,” she said, talking to Percy, who instantly pulled a mistrusting face, mouth curved unhappily. “Put these on.”
She dressed him in too-big pants, a ragged flannel shirt and shoes that made him look like an improvising clown, lost from the circus.
You couldn’t help the laugh that fell from your mouth at the sight of him. Even Grover was holding back a smile. Percy was not by any means impressed.
Zoe stepped back and looked him over, and then nodded, impressed. “A typical male vagrant.”
“Thanks a lot,” he grumbled. “Why am I doing this?”
“I told thee; to blend in.”
Zoe led the way down to the water-front. After a long time of her searching for something, she finally stopped, and turned to Percy. She pointed to a group of homeless guys huddled together with blankets.
“He will be down there somewhere,” she said. “He never veers far from the water. He likes to sun himself during the day.”
“How do I know which one is him?” Asked Percy. You nodded, looking at Zoe.
“Sneak up. Act homeless. You will know who he is. He…he smells different.”
“Great. And once I find him?”
“Grab him. And hold on. He will try anything to be rid of thee. Whatever he does, do not let go. Force him to tell thee about the monster.”
Ah. The monster, which nobody had mentioned to you. Just another punch to the chest.
“We’ve got your back,” said Thalia, reaching out and picking something off of Percy’s new—well, reused—shirt. She gagged. “On second thought, I don’t want your back. But we’ll be rooting for you.”
Percy huffed, looking the least happy you’d ever seen him. He turned to you, and offered a tight-mouthed smile. More of a grimace.
“Any advice?”
“I’ve stopped all that. It doesn’t seem to be getting us anywhere good. Just do you.”
The rest of you observed your friend as he wandered down the dock, looking lost and confused. Eventually, Percy left your line of sight, and you found a nice spot on the floor to rest a while.
A ruckus a few yards away caught your attention. You looked at Thalia, who hummed. Then her eyes went wide, and the shouts of anger turned into awe.
“Whoa!”
You turned, mouth agape, as a giant killer whale came burst out of the water and feet into the air. Percy gave you all a little wave, before plunging into the sea.
“Well. At least we know he’s fine.”
It wasn’t long before Percy wrestled the old man to the surface. Thalia tapped your arm. “Let’s go!”
“You got him!” Zoe yelled. The four of you sprinted down to Percy.
“You don’t have to sound so amazed,” he said.
Even from a foot away, the smell of gross seaweed and dried up something filled your nose. You wanted to gag. Nereus groaned. “Oh wonderful, an audience for my humiliation. The normal deal, I suppose? You’ll let me go if I answer your questions.”
“Sure,” you shrugged.
“Only one question per capture!”
Percy’s silence followed with his sigh. “Alright, Nereus. Tell me where to find this terrible monster that could bring an end to the gods. The one Artemis was hunting.”
“Oh, that’s too easy,” Nereus grinned evilly. “He’s right there!” Nereus pointed at the water by Percy’s feet.
“Where?”
“The deal is complete!”
With a plop, he turned into a goldfish and summersaulted into the sea.
“Wait!”
“Stop!” Thalia shoved forward. “What is that?”
“Mooooooo!”
You blinked. Maybe you weren’t insane at all. The serpent-cow swam around in the water, giving Percy the puppy dog eyes.
“Ah,” he grimaced. “Bessie, not now.”
“Moooo!”
“He says his name isn’t Bessie,” Grover said.
“You can understand her…I mean, him?”
Grover nodded. “It’s a very old form of animal language, but he says his name is Ophiotaurus.”
“The what?”
“It means serpent-bull in Greek.” Thalia said. “But what’s it doing here?”
“Moooo!”
“It says Percy is it’s protector.”
You scoffed, playfully. “Percy couldn’t protect a teddy bear.”
“Hey!”
“He’s running from bad people. He says they’re close.”
Thalia’s eyes practically bugged out of her head. “And you somehow forgot to mention this before?”
“Well, yeah.”
“I know this story!” Zoe said suddenly. She snapped her fingers. “From the War of the Titans. My father told me this tale thousands of years ago. This is the beast we are looking for.”
Your gaze dropped to the doe-eyed creature swimming in urgent circles. It mooed sadly. You eyed it sceptically.
“Bessie?” Percy’s tone of voice told you he had the same thought. “But…he’s too cute. He couldn’t destroy the world…”
“This is how we were wrong,” Zoe persuaded. “We had been expecting a great monster of terrible power. But the ophiotaurus can not harm the very way that other creatures do. He must be sacrificed.”
“I don’t think he likes the S-word,” Grover muttered.
Percy knelt, the damp ground around him soaking into his jeans and drying instantly. He reached out a hand, and scratched the creature’s head. “How could anyone hurt him? He’s harmless.”
Zoe nodded. “But there is power in killing innocence. Terrible power. The Fates ordained a prophecy eons ago, when this creature was born. They said that whoever killed the Ophiotaurus and sacrificed its entrails to fire would have the power to destroy the gods.”
“MMMMMM!”
“Um,” Grover said. “Maybe we could avoid talking about entrails, too.”
Thalia stared at the cow serpent with wonder. “The power to destroy the gods . . . how? I mean, what would happen?”
“No one knows,” Zoe said. “The first time, during the Titan war, the Ophiotaurus was in fact slain by a giant ally of the Titans, but thy father, Zeus, sent an eagle to snatch the entrails away before they could be tossed into the fire. It was a close call. Now, after three thousand years, the Ophiotaurus is reborn.”
Thalia sat down on the dock. She stretched out her hand. Bessie went right to her. Thalia placed her hand on his head. Bessie shivered.
“We have to protect him. If Luke gets hold of him…”
“Luke wouldn’t hesitate,” you said. You didn’t know him well, not the way Percy or Thalia did, but you knew that much. And, even if you didn’t, you could sense it. “The power to overthrow Olympus? That’s…that’s huge.”
“Yes.”
A hand clapped down on your shoulder. You pulled away, walking backward into Grover. Your heart thudded painfully.
There, before you, stood Dr. Thorn, eyes glinting menacingly.
“And it is a power you shall unleash.”

Starry Promises
Percy Jackson x Reader
Notes: don't repost without my permission!
Tumblr media
As the day came to a close, Percy and Y/n found themselves once again by the edge of the lake, where they had shared so many special moments. They sat together, letting their feet dangle in the cool water, as the warm hues of the sunset spread across the sky.
"I never thought I'd find someone like this, someone who understands this crazy demigod life," Y/n admitted, looking at Percy with a tender smile.
Percy nodded, also gazing out at the water. "I never thought someone could dive so deeply into my world. But you... you're special, Y/n."
She looked at him, her eyes shimmering. "You're special to me too, Percy. You've shown me that even amidst the chaos and dangers, it's possible to find love and joy."
Percy reached out and held her hand, their fingers intertwining. "Y/n, I don't know what lies ahead, but I know I want to face everything with you by my side."
Y/n smiled, her expression brimming with emotion. "I want to be by your side too, Percy. No matter what happens, we'll face it together."
And then, with the tranquil lake as their witness, they sealed their promise with a gentle kiss, full of tenderness and hope. The magical world around them seemed to be in perfect harmony with the love they shared, as if the gods and destiny were celebrating this special union.
And so, beneath the starry canopy, Percy Jackson and Y/n embarked on a journey that would lead them to incredible adventures, unimaginable challenges, and a love that would only grow with time. Together, they would navigate the highs and lows of life as demigods, always remembering the power of the love that bound them and made them invincible.
~~~~~~~~~~~
As their lips parted, Percy and Y/n exchanged a knowing look, their hearts in sync with the promises they had just made. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them in that moment, wrapped in the warmth of their feelings for each other.
As the night deepened, they remained seated by the lake, sharing stories, dreams, and laughter. Their conversations flowed effortlessly, each word strengthening the bond that had formed between them. It was as if they had known each other for a lifetime, and yet every moment felt brand new and exciting.
"You know," Percy began, breaking a comfortable silence, "I used to think being a demigod was a curse. But meeting you, Y/n, has shown me that it's also a gift. It brought you into my life."
Y/n smiled softly, her eyes reflecting the moonlight. "I used to feel so out of place before I came here. But you and this camp, it's become my home."
Percy reached for her hand again, his touch reassuring. "No matter what challenges come our way, no matter how tough things get, we'll always have each other."
Y/n nodded, her heart swelling with affection for the green-eyed demigod beside her. "Together, we can face anything."
And so, under the celestial canopy, Percy and Y/n continued to talk, to share, and to build their future together. They watched as shooting stars streaked across the sky, making silent wishes that their love would endure whatever trials destiny had in store.
As the night drew to a close, they stood up, reluctant to leave the tranquil lakeside. Hand in hand, they walked back to the heart of the camp, where their friends awaited and new adventures beckoned. The journey ahead was uncertain, but with each other, they felt invincible.
And as the first rays of dawn broke through the horizon, Percy and Y/n knew that their love story was just beginning, a tale of bravery, magic, and a love that would transcend even the boundaries of their mythical world.
You and Percy crossed paths during the trio's mission. You happened to be in the same diner as Ares, embarking on your own quest. Grover sensed your presence, and before you knew it, you became an unexpected addition to the group. Fortunately, Ares treated the group better upon learning that you were a daughter of Aphrodite, as he couldn't mistreat a child of his beloved goddess.
Percy was utterly captivated when he first laid eyes on you. "Who's she?" he asked Grover, his attention completely absorbed by your presence. Grover chuckled at Percy's obliviousness to everything else but you.
Impressing the trio as you slay a monster, you confidently remark, "What? Just because I've just painted my nails doesn't mean I can't defeat this ugly thing."
After you confidently slay the monster, Percy looks at you and exclaims, "I'm gonna marry that girl!" Annabeth rolls her eyes, saying, "Oh boy," while Grover bursts into laughter, leaving you blushing
He'd ALWAYS look at you with a little smirk.
It took Percy a while to muster the courage to ask you out, and when he finally did, he stumbled over his words in a nervous attempt.
"Uh, hey, Y/N," Percy started, scratching the back of his head. "I was thinking, you know, maybe we could, um, grab some... uh, food? Yeah, like a, um, dinner thing?" His cheeks turned a subtle shade of pink as he anxiously awaited your response. You couldn't help but smile at Percy's adorable nervousness. With a teasing glint in your eye, you replied, "Dinner sounds great, Percy. I mean, if you're not too scared to share a meal with me."
You wouldn't even need to use charm on him because, well, he's head over heels for you and would do anything without you even asking.
Percy would be the type to love listening to you talk for hours just to admire you.
On a quiet night, Percy appeared at your cabin door with a small box. He rubbed the back of his neck, a bit awkward, and said, "Hey, brought this for you." Opening the box, you found a delicate necklace with a seashell-shaped pendant, reminiscent of the sea. Percy nervously smiled, "I saw this and thought of you, I don't know... thought you might like it." Your heart melted with his sincerity, and you said softly, "Percy, it's perfect. Thank you so much." He scratched his head, a blush rising on his cheeks. "It was nothing, really." Before you knew it, you hugged him and planted a gentle kiss on his cheek. Your siblings from the Aphrodite cabin, who were not exactly discreetly observing, let out a chorus of "awww" and enchanted smiles.
Deep down, Percy hopes you won't break his heart just for the sake of the Aphrodite kids' ritual.
During a casual conversation with your sisters, you found yourself talking about Percy. The way he smiled, the warmth in his eyes – everything seemed to stand out more vividly. Your sisters, with their knowing smiles, teased you playfully. "Y/N, you're glowing whenever you talk about him!" Blushing, you tried to play it off. "Oh, come on, it's nothing. We're just friends." One of your sisters winked. "Friends or not, there's something in the air when you're around him. Admit it, you like him."
He'd want to protect you from everything, and if you got hurt, Percy would blame himself for days until you assured him it wasn't his fault.
As you and Percy strolled through the camp, a boy from the Ares cabin approached you, nervously asking if you'd like to go out sometime. You exchanged a polite smile, ready to turn him down gently, but Percy surprised you. "Sorry, she's taken," he said, intertwining his fingers with yours. You looked at him with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. The Ares boy seemed taken aback, and you couldn't help but chuckle. "Taken? Percy, are we...?" Percy grinned, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. "Yep, we are. Officially. If you're okay with that, of course." Your heart warmed at his words, and with a playful grin, you replied, "Absolutely, seaweed brain."
Percy LOVES hugging you, so there would be lots and lots of hugs.
You two would be the clingy type, doing everything together.
He'd get suspicious every time a guy approached because, well, you're irresistible, and he definitely wouldn't trust the Hermes boys.
You'd suggest spa nights in Percy's cabin, and he'd gladly agree. Many times, he'd ask you to sleep in the cabin with him.
Movie nights that would end with you falling asleep on his shoulder, and he wouldn't know how to handle it at first, but he'd get used to it, feeling like the luckiest demigod in camp.
Percy trying to make cheesy pick-up lines for you in public and leaving you redder than a tomato.
Let's face it; you'd be THE it couple at the camp.
A POISON TREE
synopsis
Tumblr media
percy jackson x oc (valentine hart) / can be seen as reader
posted on wp too — girlogys / tiktok: girlogys.wp
Valentine Hart was consumed with rage. Tragedy struck the void of her bones so painfully it embedded the depths of her mind, choking until anger strangled her.
She wasn't normal, she's been told, numerously.
Panting awake in the midst of the night, tiny fingers clutching her reddened chest as she recollected memories of people she did not know. Blurring figures and golden silhouettes hiding behind her eye lids, where scars are left buried from the nails scratching at the flesh of her face, she'd think the blood still sept.
It was an everyday occurrence. Morphing dreams plaguing her in constant agony. A heap of roaring turmoil would tear her apart when classmates claimed she was all they saw when they closed their eyes, fatigue taking over.
Her own sleep had never caught onto her and she found the darkened eye bags a drastic colour against her complexion. She hid it well, she thought she did.
But Grover Underwood had seen it all, and she hated him for dragging her to a camp of even bigger freaks than she was; somehow still being an outcast amongst them.
&. She greatly despised Percy Jackson for being the cause of even greater doom to come.
guys should i have this as a side project apart from the merciless siren let me know lol (this is related to my only other pjo work)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The stories of the Greek gods, yeah, they’re real.
If you’re reading this right now thinking this sentence is all one big joke, good for you, continue reading as you please. In fact, I envy you if you’re able to think this is all fiction.
If you’re reading this because you’re starting to believe that the myths you were told as a kid are real, or you’re experiencing experiences science can’t quite explain, my advice is to close this book right now.
If you ever see yourself or relate to anything in these pages and feel something weird stirring inside– stop immediately. Because, as soon as you realise you’re one of us– and chances are, you probably are, they can sense it as well. And they’ll come for you.
You’re doing this at your own risk. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
My name is Laila Lim.
I’m twelve years old and until a few months ago, I was a boarding student at College La Victoire in Romandie, Switzerland; the french speaking part. I’m originally from Surrey, England, although my mother is Chinese and Thai.
Why am I in boarding school?
I’m not sure.
Sometimes I think it’s because my mother found me too troublesome and chose to ship me off. But, regardless, I had a good time there. I’m good at sports, music and academics– not to brag, but you can call me an all-rounder. But at the same time I guess you could say I’m a troubled kid.
I could start at any point of time in my short life but things only really started to go south last July when I visited New York City for the first time.
I know– it sounds exciting. Most of my trips overseas with my mother are and this would be my first time heading to the States, so I had expectations.
My mother is in her late thirties– thirty-six, to be exact. She has long black hair and brown eyes. When she was younger, she was a model, that’s how beautiful she is, although now she is a CEO of some big law firm with the biggest obsession over Greek mythology. My father? I have no idea. But I do know that he’s the reason I have blue eyes. That is really the only trait I inherited from him.
Well, back to the trip. Everyone has heard of New York City. ‘New York or nowhere’ as some say. I was really looking forward to this trip because first, it would be my first time in the States and it’d be in New York City out of all places. Second, it’s close to where my mother had met my father.
She doesn’t talk about him a lot but I know she met him in the outskirts of New York.
Anyways, it wasn’t until I stepped into New York that the hallucinations I’d get from time to time really worsened. And I mean it was really bad. I kept seeing strange things, strange creatures that looked scarily close to the pictures in the books my mother used to read to me. I tried my best to enjoy my trip, I really did, but the hallucinations just kept getting worse and worse.
I still had a good time, though. My mother had to meet up with all her supermodel and celebrity friends and, must I say, the presents they give are extravagant. I’m talking designer bags and fancy jewellery. I knew they were rich but man, I didn’t expect getting things like those, although I’m not complaining. I’m guessing my mother must’ve sent my ‘super unrealistic wish list for your super duper child’ slideshow because everything I had been given was on that wish list.
Anyway, back to New York City.
We spent most of our time shopping and sightseeing. If you exclude my hallucinations, the trip was going absolutely fine. In fact, I was having a lot of fun. That was until we visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art to look at ancient Greek stuff; as I said, my mother is huge on ancient Greece and its mythologies.
I guessed some school was having their field trip there because there were a bunch of kids my age as well, which I have to be honest, really scared me. This one girl kept giving me judgemental looks for whatever reason, but I couldn’t care less to be honest. Why is this important? Because when one of the teachers had brought this kid in to, what I assume, scold him, she started making this weird growling noise.
At this point of time, I was alone looking at one of the other statues as they must have not noticed me but I certainly did notice them.
‘You’ve been giving us problems, honey,” she said in her weird voice.
‘Yes, ma’am,” the boy my age says.
‘Did you really think you would get away with it?’ She says.
‘I’ll – I’ll try harder ma’am.’
Now, this is the part where it gets weird because it felt as though thunder shook the building,
‘We are not fools, Percy Jackson. It was only a matter of time before we found you out. Confess, and you will suffer less pain.’
I know eavesdropping is wrong but, look, I couldn’t help it. First, what kind of name is Percy? Like Percy Pig? The pig mascot for Marks and Spencers? Second, confess, pain? Find out what? Look, I knew stuff in New York City would be different, but I didn’t think it’d be that different.
‘Well?’ she demands.
‘Ma’am, I don’t…’ the boy says
‘Your time is up,’ the woman hissed. Then, you’re not going to believe what happened because it’s the weirdest thing in the world. I was scared, even hiding behind the statue I was originally looking at. Her fingers stretched, turning into talons and I could tell that her eyes were glowing.
At first I thought I was seeing things, that it was all a big hallucination, but based on the reaction from the other boy, he was seeing them as well.
Her jacket melted into these large wings and she didn’t look one bit human. She had bat wings and claws and yellow fangs.
And just when I thought things couldn’t get any weirder, well, they did.
This man in a wheelchair tossed a pen to the boy right before the monster woman thing lunged at him. Then, the next thing I see is that the pen had turned into this bronze sword.
‘Die, honey!’ she snarls, flying straight at him.
I’m as still as a statue watching what is going on. Because what is going on?
The boy swings the sword at her and then it passes through her body and a loud hissing sound was made before the woman exploded into yellow powder and seemed to vaporise on the spot, leaving nothing but the weird smell of sulphur you would only typically get in the science labs of my school as a dying screech fills the air.
Then, the boy spots me. ‘Did you see that?
‘Yeah?’ I nod, looking at him strangely as I wonder how on earth he had managed to spot me before he went back outside.
Then, my mother returns and I tell her all about it and she looks at me as if I’m saying some foreign language.
‘Whatever,’ she brushes it off. ‘I’ll book an appointment with Dr Clark when we get back, alright?’
I nod. My hallucinations must be getting worse.
Chapter One
Tumblr media
Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood.
If you're reading this because you think you might be one, my advice is: close this book right now. Believe whatever lie your mom or dad told you about your birth, and try to lead a normal
life. Being a half-blood is dangerous. It's scary. Most of the time, it gets you killed in painful, nasty ways.
If you're a normal kid, reading this because you think it's fiction, great. Read on. I envy you for being able to believe that none of this ever happened.But if you recognize yourself in these pages - if you feel something stirring inside - stop reading immediately. You might be one of us. And once you know that, it's only a matter of time before they sense it too, and they'll come for you.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
My name is Gojo Kanao . Age fourteen, raised in Tokyo, Japan . As the youngest family member of the Gojo clan , niece of the Gojo Satoru and an aspiring sorcerer - my life was going as perfectly as it rightfully should . Except my uncle got a call from an old family friend three weeks back and before I knew it I were to pack my bags and enroll in a 'summer camp' meant for 'children like me' . And that's really funny because apart from my uncle , I'm pretty much one of a kind . It's not like ever other generation has a six eyes user gifted with limitless. My existence is what most people call an 'anomaly in the power balance of the world' and sparked much debate amongst higher ups but it stopped bothering me after a point considering how uncle Satoru threatens to decimate any person that as much as dared look at me wrongly .
He took me in after my father died when I was four and him eighteen . Following my father's death , the Gojo clan was pretty much reduced to me and uncle since not much was known about my birth mother . The first time my uncle got to know that he, in fact , not only had a sister in law but also a niece from his absentee elder brother was when the fore mentioned "family friend" came knocking to at the Gojo Clan's door with a drooling four year old with white pigtails in tow .
As much as a shock it must've been to know that he was now a single father , uncle or as I call him Satoru nii-san , seemed to have developed a knack for parenting much too quickly with his reasoning being 'the baby looks like mini me and I vibe with that' . And as he liked to say to me and my also-adopted siblings Megumi and Tsumiki Fushiguro "having you kids just adds to my dilf appeal" followed by Megumi deadpanning at him , Tsumiki awkwardly smiling and me audibly gagging. Needless to say , he isn't much liked and not even half as tolerable as he considers himself to be.
"How could you do this to me ?" I mumbled while my eyes trailing the silhouette of the trees passing rapidly by my car windows . Almost inaudible cursing was what my opposition was shamefully reduced to . After much fights , screaming , crying , scratching and attempts at running away I was forced to join this camp . His description of the camp with strawberry fields , flying horses , Greek gods and half goat people was enough for Megumi to call bullshit on it however I couldn't deny its existence because that's where I grew up from birth to age four.
" Nyao-chan , this is the 33rd time you're saying this in the past fifteen hours of flight time . Do better" I could feel nii-san rolling his eyes from the front seat .
" Toru nii don't call me that" I hissed back at him and turned my face with 'hmph' so that maybe , just maybe I could appeal to his conscience. I remember that place and it wasn't particularly unpleasant and under normal circumstances I would really like visiting . However , he simply refused to understand just how it would derail my development as a sorcerer , quoting ' your development as a demigod is just as fundamental to your growth as your development as a sorcerer . Take it as a learning experience. Have fun and for the love of god make some friends that aren't the fushiguros or your pet snake .'
My previous attempt at socialising ended up with the boy calling me a brat and me activating my cursed technique for the first time in attempt to kill him , stunning breakthrough but not a suitable first impression. That meeting ended well for their family and the incident was ruled out as a 'all is well that ends well' . And after that I decided that I had enough and rated the experience 2 stars , do not recommend .
" I mean looking at how much you like small spaces , scratching and hissing you might as well be one . But hey cheer up ! you're going to see your Chiron sensei and Dino oji-san again . Won't it be fun ? Childhood memories all coming back to you. Plus I've heard summer camps are really fun." He shrugged with his emphasis on the names causing me to cringe inwardly .
" What sort of summer camp runs in November ?" I retorted followed by him sighing . It was much later that I found out that my 'Dino oji-san' was actually Dionysus , the Greek god of wine. I could only imagine the emotions he must've felt holding a toddler in his lap , butchering his name to her convenience. The embarrassment of the memory just made me even more unwilling to go . Our satyr chauffeur said we were fifteen minutes away from camp so of course going back wasn't an option.
Before I knew it , the car came to a screeching halt in the middle of road . There was nothing but an empty road ahead surrounding by dense vegetation on either sides . " What happened ? " I asked leaning forward. The saytr looked at me and blinked . Then I realised I forgot to switch to English while talking . Except for my struggles with dyslexia, English was fairly easy to learn . I credited Satoru nii's obsession of Friends and Britney Spears for this but learning , in general , was something that came naturally to me . I never had to try too hard to learn a skill and it puzzled others and even me . Apparently this was the trait of a true Gojo . Being godly perfect . It applied to everything but my cursed energy technique . Sometime back I realised I reached a plateau of my skills  and no matter what method I employed , my growth remained stagnant . Maybe that's why he's sending me here .
" She meant why did we stop ?" Nii-san asked .
" We're here" The saytr plainly replied . I looked around in confusion because I saw nothing . He asked us to follow him , and with luggage in hand , so we did .
After a small hike through the woods , we reached a big stone arch . It was partially of wood and stone and looked really old with greek symbols carved at the top and several cracks and moss . I stared at the sign and noticed that the letters began to rearrange themselves . At first I thought it was my dyslexia acting up but the Greek symbols rearrange themselves to spell out the letters 'CAMP HALFBLOOD' .
"You look surprised. What do you see Kana ?" He looked at me . I explained my observations and he smirked and muttered something to himself .
I extended my hand and much like how jujutsu curtains worked by hand went passed the barrier emitting a faint blue light . " Nii-san you try it " I gestured him to do the same . The barrier pulsated against his hand as if resisting his touch . With a faint smile , he retracted his hand and said to the saytr " This barrier is stronger than I expected . I'm impressed"
"Nii-san if you were to break through , how long would it take ?" I asked out of curiosity . If you were to ask anyone to describe Gojo Satoru in one word the word would be 'strongest' . Once he put enough effort into it there was no barrier he couldn't break nor there was any curse he couldn't exorcise . " Hmmm it's strong I'll give it that . But we wouldn't want to endanger a camp worth of kids, right ?" I shrugged in a 'makes sense' gesture.
"It's just her from this point on. You can't go inside." The saytr said. Yeah we noticed. Satoru- nii clapped his hands and smiled," Just give us two minutes. You know I need time to see off my precious baby." The saytr blinked and moved out of earshot wordlessly. Satoru nii cupped my face and cooed as if he was on the verge of crying. I rolled my eyes at his dramatic display," you didn't feel any remorse for the last few days and you're crying now ?"
"It's not easy ! I knew I had to let my baby bird out of the nest because that's what's best for you but I -" his bottom lip wobbled and I was hit with a sense of guilt. I sighed and hugged him," I'll miss you too. I'll be fine."
"Call me everyday you hear me ? And eat and sleep well. Oh my god I'm starting to sound like an old woman !" Gojo Satoru was one man who liked to completely disregard the fact that me, Megumi and Tsumiki had mother -albeit absent, and very seriously behave as if he was the one who carried us around for nine months and birth us. But hey, who doesn't like being coddled ?
I rolled my eyes and gave him the signature Gojo smirk," I'll be just fine, don't you worry."
" I know. You'll be fine. Always. You'll be better than me, I know it." Satoru nii-san's voice dropped to a low and almost wistful whisper. " Even though you're the best there is ?" I asked offering him a kind smile. To that he said something in a tone  I didn't expect hearing from him. "You've inherited only my powers , I don't want you to inherit my tragedies too ." The statement left a bad taste in my mouth. People often assumed that since he was the strongest, he had it easy. It’s people like him that suffer the most, so much so that sometimes it has you wishing you didn’t have power at all.
"And lastly. Don't kill anyone, and even if you do. Get rid of witnesses and call nii-san first, Nii-san will take care of it." I raised my brow in questioning. Firstly, shouldn't he be teaching his kid to be nice to other people or something and second of all why is he referring to himself in third person.
"Shouldn't you be saying 'dont bully people and be nice' or something ?" Though what he said wasn't the first of its kind. My brother Megumi had a track record of beating up people in his school but Nii-san never saw a problem because the people he beat up were hardly innocent and he never lost a fight so that was no shame brought to the family name.
"If there's anyone you think shouldn't be alive. Then they shouldn't be. This world is ours, the others are just living in it." One thing that everyone knew what that Gojo Satoru was a firm believer of the Gojo family supremacy. And he's not wrong. "Then what about those sleazy higher-ups ?" I quipped. I knew of his grand plan to demolish the old reign and establish a new jujutsu world, the reason he became a teacher. It was something I looked forward to since the day he showed me the dream of it, but for that I had to get stronger. To become more, to become unstoppable. So I would gladly accept any wisdom the Greeks had to offer and make sure that by the time I’m done here, I’ll be the strongest demigod they’ve had the honour of laying their eyes upon.
“All in due time Kana-chan.”
