summary: tony and (y/n) try to rescue rey from the finalizer.

You walked behind Tony towards what you assumed is someone you’re supposed to go to, judging the way he dressed. “You must be Lieutenant Natchios! You’re extremely la-” Hux turned to your direction to see the most wanted man in the universe. His eyes widen while Tony smiled at him and waved.

“Hey there!” Tony says, showing fake enthusiasm. Deep inside Tony, he was absolutely terrified. He doesn’t know if this guy he heard from earlier is a force-sensitive. He didn’t want to encounter Kylo again and wanted to get out of this hellhole as soon as possible.

“Saw this man while I was on my way here. Extremely witty even when I captured him.” (Y/N) gave Tony a fake glare to make sure the ginger bought the act.

“With that strange beard, I can already tell he’s going to be a problem.” Hux mutters, “Lead him to the interrogation room. A stormtrooper will lead you there and Kylo and I will deal with him later.” Hux says coldly before leaving. A stormtrooper walks in front of you and signals you to follow him.

“The general insulted my goatee! Did you hear that!?” Tony whispered and gasps dramatically.

“I heard it alright but guess what, Tony?” (Y/N) looks at him, making Tony turn his head to the side with curiosity, “We’re not gonna do anything about it just because someone insulted your goatee.” It was a silly reason to start a scene.

Tony scoffs and spoke, “Well, my goatee is a pretty big dea-” The stormtrooper turns around abruptly, making the duo come to an immediate stop.

“Shut it, rebel scu- ah!” The stormtrooper flew back and landed on the ground with a loud thump. The sound of sizzling was heard and the billionaire made a ‘hmph’ sound. He walked towards the dead stormtrooper and lead him to a janitor's closet.

“Keep guard (Y/N).” The woman nodded before he closed the door. While Tony was changing, (Y/N) looked at the environment around her. Squeaky black clean floors, a small black...trapezoid passing by at times, and hallways that seem to go on forever. This was not the environment that (Y/N) was used to but something felt right. Like she’s been here all this time.

“Is it clear out there, (Y/N)?” Tony whispers loud enough through the crack of the door, snapping out of her thoughts. It took a moment for (Y/N) to process what he just said.

Looking left and right, (Y/N) turned to the door. “Yes, it’s safe.” The door creaked open to reveal Tony as a stormtrooper. Surprisingly, the attire seemed to fit Tony.

“Now we just have to find Rey.”

After a few lefts and rights, they reached the cells. “The interrogation room has to be in this hallway.” The duo walked through the hallway silently, as each cell had some type of animalistic sound. It was so unsettling that Tony started to walk faster. Looking through each small window was a unique looking creature, some being droids. Until one particular room. (Y/N) stopped and squinted but it didn’t do any good.

Tony notices and stops walking, “C’mon (Y/N).” The playboy urged his partner to follow but she just continued staring. Someone was on a table - or chair - with two cuffs per arm. (Y/N) took a couple of strides and peered into the small window. A paleish brunette was on the table. Female, brunette, brown eyes, young...this must be her.

“Tony, is that Rey?” Tony lightly pushed (Y/N) to the side and looked into the window. Finally!

Kylo stared at the Darth Vader helmet with displeasure. He hated the outsiders with a passion. His plan would have worked out perfectly if they hadn’t come. “Supreme Leader, Lieutenant Natchios arrived-” And of course, Dopheld Mitaka walks in.

“You should have knocked, Lieutenant.” Kylo says dauntingly and slowly, enough for Mitaka to become awkward and wrap up the conversation.

“But she found the man you were looking for while she was on the way and now they’re both heading to the interrogation room...” Mitaka stops himself from speaking any further, worried about his leader’s next action. The raven-haired man stands and slowly turns around to face the Lieutenant.

“They’re here? Aboard the Finalizer?” He stands close enough to Mitaka, causing him to look down at his feet.

“Y-yes sir.” There was a moment of silence. Mitaka closed his eyes and expected for the worst. For a few moments, nothing happened.

“No need to alert the troopers. I’ll do this alone.”

“Rey...wake up!” The sound of a male voice was heard within Rey’s surroundings. Rey blinked a couple of times before opening her eyes. Everything was a blur until she squinted.

“Are you okay? We gotta move fast.” Tony and (Y/N) released the cuffs and lifted her up before they could make sure she could stand. The brunette woman stared at the (H/C) woman in confusion.

“Wait, aren’t you a Lieutenant?”

Before (Y/N) could respond, Tony interrupts. “She’s in disguise and we gotta go now!” Rey grabs her lightsaber that was on the far side of the room and follows Tony to the door. (Y/N) runs along with them but a sudden feeling stopped her. She didn’t know what. Whatever this feeling was, it wasn’t good. Something was beyond the door. Fear started to rush into (Y/N)’s head. She put her hand in her pocket and held the object that Poe gave her and clicked it. An impulsive decision.

“Stop.” With one word, the Jedi and the billionaire turned around in confusion.

“What?”

“W-We can’t go through there. Someone is there.” (Y/N) stutters. An image of a man in a dark cloak and mask was shown in (Y/N)’s head. Whoever that was, he was at the end of the hallway. How can I see this?! (Y/N) thought.

“Wha...H-How do you know that?!” Tony laughs in disbelief and slight annoyance from how little progress has been made. (Y/N) on the other hand, she was distraught and scared.

“I just...know?” The (H/C) haired woman also sighs stressfully, not knowing how to describe it. Rey’s face contorts from confusion to shock. She knew exactly what she was talking about.

Before Rey could speak, the door hissed open. There stood the ginger from a few moments ago and a man with all black, just like the one (Y/N) envisioned. “Outsider.” (Y/N) felt a sudden pressure around her neck and choked. Kylo dragged her into his grasp as he raises his arm against her head. Rey and Tony advanced toward Kylo, resulting in Kylo making them stand in place. “(Y/N) (L/N)...” Kylo says but nothing else is said after. A few seconds later, his face contorts into anger. “You...are very...hard to read.” A look of realization appeared upon his face. “Stronger than I had predicted.”

A beam of light struck upon the group, causing everyone to fly back. As the beam of light disappeared, the figure was revealed. “Metal man, (Y/N), You. We’re heading back to Earth now.” The group runs towards Thor as he opens up the Bifrost.

“No!” Kylo runs into the Bifrost as the group went up into the rainbow road. Tony looks down at the long-haired man and blasts him but missed. Kylo held his hand out towards him but nothing happens. He does it again and again but still, nothing happened. “WHAT!?” Kylo roars as he looks at his hand with confusion and anger. In the moment of vulnerability, (Y/N) immediately takes out her pistol and shot at him.

The Supreme Leader flew his hand towards his shoulder, groaning at the slight pain. He quickly looks back up and proceeds to go up faster. “Blast him, Tony!” Tony did as he was told until a big white flash of light flashed everyone’s eyes.

They landed in front of the Avengers base. “Wow, that was a fun...ride...” Rey trails off as she looks at the atmosphere around here. Green. A lot of Green. “So vibrant...”

As Tony guides Rey to base, (Y/N) strides to the God of Thunder. “Did he follow us, Thor?” (Y/N) whispers to Thor. Thor doesn’t answer and if Thor had to be completely honest about Ren, he didn’t know. The dirty-blonde haired man was reluctant to answer as he opened his mouth but only sighs, as it only brought more concern to (Y/N).

“Lady (Y/N), we will deal with the strange man later. We have the foreigner to deal with for now.” Thor smiles reassuringly trying to make the former assassin feel better. It didn’t help but she smiled back anyways.

“And where’s the rest of the crew?”

“They are inside. They have the gauntlet.” A wave of relief swept over (Y/N). As (Y/N) follows Thor inside, she couldn’t help but notice that the strange feeling she had had before was gone. Like it had never existed.

Kylo gasps and quickly gets up and felt the cold air around his head. His mask was gone. “Shit.” He pats himself down until he felt his saber by his side and calmed down. Exhausted, he closed his eyes and put his arms by his side. Until a loud honk intruded his ears. Lifting his back up once again (as quickly as he could), his eyes landed on a landspeeder with wheels on them with very bright beams way too close to him. The landspeeder was also bright yellow with a big bold “T” on it and some type of arch on top with a...hologram on it?

“Get off the fucking road!” The man honked at Kylo as Kylo quickly ran to what he assumed was the safe side of the so-called “road”. As the Dark Jedi caught his breath, his eyes looked up. Where was he? Hundreds of lights reflected off of Kylo’s eyes. Are these holograms...? No, this is something different. The lights were on top some of the tallest buildings but not as tall as the buildings Kylo has seen. Kylo’s confused amazement was interrupted when a random person had bumped into him without even saying a word. Do they know who they just bumped into?

“Hey!” Kylo yelled and looked behind him, his hand darting to his weapon. His eyes widen in shock. Millions of civilians were walking around him, staring at his abnormal outfit for a second but then kept looking straight forward. Kylo completely forgot what the person looked like and just stood there. This is not my home world...What the hell was I doing before thi- His eyes darted at a hologram. In the biggest font, it said Home of the Avengers! Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! and below it were the people Kylo was looking for. “Tony Stark.” Kylo muttered venomously at the hologram.

“I know right? What an amazing guy!” A man stood next to Kylo, startling him. The man’s eyes were full of glee and hope as the hologram shone against his face yet his eyes weren’t facing the hologram. It was safe to assume that he was blind. His smile was the widest smile Kylo had seen in awhile. It was clear to the Supreme Leader that he wasn’t home. He looked below to see children and adults dressed as the beloved heroes. Where he was from, it was not safe to show if you were with the Resistance or First Order. From what he had seen, his enemies were the heroes of the world.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t get to introduce myself. Matthew Murdock.” Matthew put his hand out to shake Kylo’s but Kylo had just stared at it. Was this a greeting? The vibe went from welcoming to awkward in just a couple of seconds. The brunette man put his hand in his pocket awkwardly.

“Kylo Ren.” Kylo spoke in a monotone voice. To Matthew, he could sense something unsettling about who he just met. Kylo suddenly grew angry towards his newly found acquaintance. He was supporting the wrong hero in battle. He grabbed Matthew by the collar. “Tell me what planet this is or I will execute you by my saber, Rebel scum.” He spat against his face.

Matthew, completely immune to Kylo’s attempt to be intimidating (due to the countless times Kingpin has done that), stayed calm but was also bewildered. “You’re on Earth and wherever you came from, you have no reason to be here.”

“No reason?” Kylo laughs a bit before becoming serious again, “It’s none of your business. ” He drops the blind man, making him fall to the ground. Kylo walks to the nearest alley and ignites his lightsaber, making sure it’s in perfect condition. As for The Force, Kylo couldn’t understand why it suddenly went away. Putting his saber away, he continued his quest to find The Avengers and crush them. Kylo smirked as he knew the so-called Avengers wouldn’t even see him coming.

But Matt Murdock had other plans.

The Huntress

a piece of work that I have submitted to F(r)iction, a writing magazine, for a competition. Feedback I’d love from you lovely folks/

Inhale. Three. Two. One. Exhale and release. Her arrow whistled through the air and hit a tree just left of her Prey’s head with a loud thump! As she expected, the scared beast jumped at the threat. Quickly scanning the area, it stumbled over its own legs scrambling away. Panic was a predictable thing, clouding thoughts with quick judgments and fast ideas, blurring vision with bloodshot glassy eyes. Like a winding forest road without any forks, it’s impossible to tell where the next turn is, but where it ends is clear. Now it begins. The Huntress vaulted over bushes and glided between the trees, keeping some distance, but only enough to spark the hope of escape. She smirked; this was her favourite part. The rhythm of the chase. Let them run. Let them hide. Tease them with hope. Smother it with an arrow. Chase them down. Begin again.

This beast was persistent in its survival; it wasn’t going to finish so quickly. Not even stopping to catch its breath, the beast thrusted forward into the forest without hesitation. For a brief moment The Huntress lost sight of the beast before quickly catching its rancid stink. Wet adrenaline pumped through the canals of her veins. Electricity, heat, power, force, lust. Relax and breathe. She sucked her raw lips with sweet anticipation. She hadn’t had a good chase in quite some time, and she wasn’t about to let it end so soon. In a split second she chose her path. Jumping mid-stride, The Huntress grabbed a branch and leapt into the tree line. Nimble and light, she pounced from branch to branch, sometimes swinging, other times walking a tightrope of wood.

Her eyes saw nothing but the lumbering beast. Five meters, Excellent. Close enough to taste success, but where was the fun in that? Tease. Deciding to give herself a challenge, she put away her bow and quivered her arrows. Knives it is. Gliding through the maze of shadowy pines, her breathing slowed, and her mind focused with singular purpose. Her heart gently throbbing. Thump. Bump-thump. Thump. Bump-thump. Only the hunt mattered. As the last fingers of sinking sunlight clawed at the horizon an erotic darkness pulsed through the forest, bringing with it the sweet smell of pine, earth, and sweat.

Crouching upon a branch, she stalked the exhausted beast relaxing at the illusion of freedom. A fair assumption but a vital mistake. The beast had endurance for sure, but there was no intelligence, no creativity, only instinct. Acting only on the primal urge for survival, the beast had torn through the forest snapping branches, clawing at dirt, moaning in fear. Now, in this little clearing, the beast collapsed and relished in the release of isolation. Unknown to the poor beast, just beyond the veil of shadow, her piercing predatory eyes waited, dripping with hunger. The Huntress learned many years ago through much trial and error that the hunt, if repeated perfectly, becomes boring and tedious. The solution? An adrenaline shot of terror and a thrusting of instincts right from the start. Then as the hunt dragged on disappearing out of sight. Sparking hope before reemerging like a long lost nightmare, gorging on their reignited dread. Playing with their emotions.

Fear needed to be reinvented, revitalized, and reimagined. Chasing and taking them down, though efficient, lacked a necessary emotion. An acknowledged urge that incentivized her desire for the hunt. Fear is the hormone that ignites evolution, change, and purpose. The best hunts were those that had variety, that sparked her to change and evolve, that challenged her to always find a new way, forging a path to a different passionate solution. It disappointed her that most others who participate in the glory of the hunt did not understand. For them the hunt was a mission, a duty that needed to be carried out. Slaves that did what they were told. Lovers who were quickly satisfied.

Still she understood, she wasn’t angry at them. It is how creatures of habit act. There was a comfort in following the rules. It was in their nature; an innate instinct to hunt and kill without any pleasure. Like hounds that straddle bitches. The difference with her was that the hunt was art, the hunt was beauty, the hunt was a passionate lover. Her hunt was not instinctual. It blossomed with desire and eroticism. Every action was purposeful and injected with love. Now we wait.

The curtain of night closed around her prey. The endless sequence of stars watched voyeuristically from the keyholes of space. The slight fear itching in the back of the beasts’ mind fueled its reckless actions. The small cracking fire promised thin protection for this doomed refugee. The meek desire for the clarity of light surged when faced with the hungry predator waiting in the darkness. But they are always deceived. Light revealed but it blinded those basking in its unconditional love. Loosening a small blade, the shadow of The Huntress stalked closer on all fours. The gentle hush of the wind on the tall grass was her friend this night, whispering sweet nothings into the beasts’ ears and carrying the precious smell of the meadow into its nostrils. She was now less than a meter away from the lumbering beast huffing from exhaustion. Exhausted from fear. Without looking she placed the blade of her short knife between her index and thumb and silently prowled out of the grass, her exhilaration begging for release.

The ecstasy of adrenaline kicked in, flicking her wrist the knife sung as it sliced through air and thudding into the poor bastard’s back as she rushed into the orange flickering light. The beast screamed in agony as she giggled with delight. It had fell onto its face with her toy’s four-inch handle sticking out of its back. The poor soul tried to squirm forward, but she was ready, and, on its thick hide, her weight was focused on her heel. The beast squealed like a pig. Looks like one too. For a moment she waited, but the beast didn’t struggle. Didn’t fight. Leaning down with curious ecstasy that verged on disappointment she flicked its forehead. No bite. She grumbled in frustration and gripped its slick hair, lifting it off the ground.

“W-what do you want?!” the squirming beast croaked. The Huntress tsked and yanked her knife out of his greasy spine.

“Shhhhhhh,” Her black nail pressed against her lips. “Quiet now. You were an excellent chase,” she paused, hoping for something to happen. “But if only you fought me at the end.” She sighed. Her disappointment barred behind her teeth. The beasts’ scream was cut short with a kick to the trachea. Crunch. She flipped the hulking mass of jowls and loose flesh over, jabbing his solar plexus with her boot. Despite her sudden disappointment in the beast, she decided she might as well see if it had anything else to offer. Some other joy she could benefit from. Lifting its hairy right hand, she was annoyed to find an array of valuable rings studded with gems of every color. She dropped the hand without a second thought and moved to the left.

This hand was equally as pompous, except for a pitch-black wooden pinky ring that perplexed her. Dragging its limp body by the finger closer to the fire, she inspected the ring and found that she was pleased with it. Bingo, a new prize. Twirling her knife in a finger dance, she finished with a clean slice of the beasts’ finger as carelessly as an unsatisfied woman leaving a lover’s bed. She turned on a heel and skipped over the unconscious mass. It began to groan in pain, but a kick to the temple brought sweet silence to the annoyed predator. Unsatisfied with this anticlimax, The Huntress pleasured herself by promptly piercing the beasts’ throat watching the crimson fountain spurt as she sucked on the bloodied blade. At least this part of the hunt never failed her. After a short while longer when the fountain of blood ceased and the beast paled, its glossed eyes reflecting small beams of moonlight, The Huntress looked up into the peering stars and relished the liquid iron on her tongue in a sweet exhibition. Licking the blade once more she moaned, shuddering with orgasmic bliss and padded back into the deep damp forest. Her silhouette melting into the shadows of the earth.

Rocking the cradle Chapter 14: Sacrifice

Sammy pushed his legs to the limit

'faster'

Every breath he drew in burned

'Faster'

He felt like he was going to collapse

"FASTER'

But he couldn't stop, he couldn't afford to

Not after the promise he made

*Flashback*

Nothing could prepare his to face this. One moment he's covering her ears and the next she's rushing out into the open classroom alone. He thought that if he kept telling her that things would be alright that she would at least be calm enough not to do anything stupid.

But when he saw those door swing open and her standing rigid in front of the very thing that gave her nightmares…

He found himself ready to fight the fire alongside her

He got as far as creaking the doors barely an inch open before his sister yanked him away and held him down with all her weight.

“Sophie, what the hell!? Get off me!” He growled

“You were about to do something stupid, so no”

“Let me go! If I don’t go out there she’ll get killed!”

Sophie’s eyes narrowed

“And what were you gonna do, huh?”

His mouth gaped like a fish. He hadn’t entirely thought of that.

“What? Were you just gonna run out there, declare your love for her and strike down the evil witch like in our bedtime stories?”

“I-I don’t-” She smack her hand against the wall. His lips were shut tight

“Shut up sammy!” She whispered harshly “This isn’t a fairytale. If you go out there and that woman is insane enough to kill kids then what chance do you have!?”

He recoiled in guilt from feeling the wetness of her tears on his face

“She won’t kill Elly. That’s her kid stupid, that’s why she’s here” She hunched over in fear and sorrow, her voice shaken and cracked “But if she kills you...then I’ll be all alone.”

Sammy relaxed his arms and just held onto his sister. It pained him every second he wasn’t out there fighting to keep Elly safe, but being in that cramped cabinet, listening to his sister quietly sob on his shoulders was far worse than anything that wicked old hag could dish out.

His ears perked up when he could hear Elly’s voice again

“Please mommy, just...please keep your promise”

He could just barely see between the doors, but what he could see was enough.

Sammy pulled himself and Sophie out of closet in just enough time to see Elly disappear over the buildings.

She was gone. In one clear, swift moment the girl he promised to protect was gone and it could be for forever.

All the words he wanted to scream got caught up in his throat. He fell onto his knees, his fists balled up in frustration. He could’ve saved her, but he couldn’t leave his sister behind. He felt weak and helpless. There was nothing he could do and he knew that perfectly well.

“What are you doing on the floor stupid”

He was going to respond but Sophie didn’t bother giving him the chance

“You wanna help save her right? Then get up, we have to go”

His twin pulled him to his feet. They shared a look of understanding and ran as fast as they could through the halls

‘I swear I’ll do something to save you Lemonhead. Just don’t start crying ok?”

*End Flashback*

This is exactly what happens when you hire a drunk to teach a senior class

Once again the professor was passed out drunk from a night of drinking before hand, but rather than spend the time doing anything productive like study or have thoughtful conversation the class had a much more fun idea.

Which is how Nino and Adrien ended up having a competition on who could stack the most stuff on top of their drunk teacher without A) knocking anything over or B) waking them up. Currently there was a 50 dollar bet on Nino fucking it up with Chloé throwing in a clean hundred if Adrien makes it as tall as the podium.

The class held their breath as Nino took his turn

‘150 euro’ Nino chanted in his head ‘I win and we’re going on vacation baby!’

But then the door slammed wide open

And the tower of school supplies came toppling over, just like his dreams

“My vacation…” Nino whimpered

No one had time to celebrate or mourn as the twins rushed straight to Alya to try and explain the situation.

They were talking a mile a minute, working desperately to get someone to act quickly

“Woah woah you two! You’re gonna make your mom dizzy with all this back and forth.” Nino advised, recovering from his loss to try and be of help “Talk slower, what happened”

Sammy couldn’t bring himself to say it, so Sophie blurted it out instead

“Elly’s gone”

The whole room crashed into silence

“W-what do you mean gone?” Marinette asked cautiously “Do you mean lost, ran away, what?”

“H-her mother came and just started destroying everything. She hurt Mlle Morel, Colette, we thought she was gonna kill all of us. Elly gave herself up to protect us.”

Marinette couldn’t think straight. Why was her mother here? That wicked bitch shouldn’t even know where they were. How? How did she find them?

“Wait”, Marinette suddenly gripped Adrien’s shoulders “What did the woman that came to shop look like; the one that harassed Eloise?”

“Um, she was tall, blonde hair, green eyes, smelled like cigarettes-”

“I knew it! That’s how I knew her”

Adrien tilted his head “The cigarettes?”

“What? No! the green eyes. Earlier today there was some tacky dressed woman outside the door, and the other day...while we were at the park” Marinette’s voice got smaller and smaller until eventually she didn’t say anything and tears fell from her eyes.

It was painful for Adrien to admit too as he pulled her in for a hug. Elly’s mother had been stalking them for a while and they realized it simply too late.

His mind was set

“I’m going to get her back...I swear”

Before she could even protest he released her and headed straight for the door

“I’m sorry!” yelled Sammy finally. Adrien halted his steps but didn’t face him

His voice came out so broken “I promised her that I would fix this, that I would never let her get hurt. But I failed. And now she’s gone and there’s nothing I can do to help her-”

“Enough”

Adrien walked back up the steps and stood, arms crossed, before Sammy.

“You did what you were supposed to, if you had gone after her you and your sister wouldn’t be here to tell us. So I’m telling you this now, stop beating yourself up over this and wipe your tears. It’s unbecoming of a man anyway”

The knowing smile on his face calmed Sammy’s nerves.

Adrien ruffled his hair “Now if you want to do something even more useful, take everyone to their kids. I’m sure they’re eager to make sure everyone’s ok”

He wiped his face and showed his usual toothy grin

“Yes sir!”

Adrien ran out the room with Marinette close behind

“I vote we split up to try and find her, cover more ground” Marinette nodded in agreement, thinking it’d be the perfect excuse to slip off and transform.

If she were to be truthful, she was highly impressed by Adrien’s maturity toward Elly’s could be first love.

...doesn’t mean she’ll let him off scot-free though

“Sooo that heart to heart back there…”

“Yes he is a good kid, yes i’m sure he will grow up to make some girl VERY happy, but you will NEVER get me to agree to that girl being my sunshine”

“You’re so protective” She giggled before they broke off down separate roads

“Till the day I die” He responded with a light-hearted laugh.

*Boom*

People scattered in all kinds of directions at the sound of the third explosion that afternoon.

“Isn’t this wonderful El?” Noémie hummed cheerily “You always said that you wanted to see paris!”

Eloise had retreated into herself for protection. She was nothing more than a mute doll as she sat in her mother’s clutch, silent and scared.

That stung a little harder than Elly expected and so she did something that old her would’ve been too scared to do

Noémie was taken aback by this random act of defiance. Not for very long though as she coated her surprise in loathing

“I AM YOUR MOTHER!” She raged “and in case it hasn’t gotten through that matted, repulsive hair of yours, they’re not here to help you are they?”

She raised her hand to bring it down onto Elly’s face

“So know your place, abomination.”

“I wouldn’t be so quick to say disgusting things like that” Ladybug challenged “Her parents are on their way and I highly doubt they’d be ok with you brutalizing their child.”

Elly was dropped like a bag of rocks as Noémie turned to face her next objective

Ladybug leaped back when she felt a hand on her earrings. She ended up bumping, back to chest, right into Chat who had not an ounce of his usual mirth in his eyes.

“So are you after the miraculous?” She snapped

Noémie shrugged carelessly “Not particularly. I’m after a lot of things, Money, notoriety, a banging ass man that I can pound into the wee hours of the morning. But your little sailor moon bling? Not on my list.”

If glares had the potential to kill, Noémie would be a flaming corpse on the ground right now.

“Then why!?” Chat Noir suddenly barked “Why destroy the city? Why kidnap a child?”

“Well the short answer, my dear pussy cat, is that I’m just that fucked up. But the long answer is much more interesting.”

She pulled out yet another cigarette and from the smoke ran a ring of flames around Eloise, preventing any chance of escape.

“And what about the child?” Chat called out

Mère de la Mort had a look of genuine confusion “Uhh you’re not a very bright kitten are you? She goes back with her real mother of course! And when she arrives she’ll receive the necessary punishment.”

“Hey El," She called out to the ring of fire "how does the cabinet for three days sound? I promise I won’t forget to feed you this time!”

The duo attacked her both sides, trying to catch her off guard, but she easily fell off her post in a simple dodge

“No deal!” Chat protested “Leave now and this can end peacefully. We’re not giving you anything”

La Mère feigned astonishment “Nothing? Oh that’s a real shame, I don’t think my children will be too fond of that.”

“Children?” Out of nowhere the lamp post was jerked back and forth wildly as mind controlled citizens sought to bring it down by sheer force

Ladybug lost her footing and was moments away from falling onto the cobbled street. Chat caught her by the waist and landed them safely a few feet back.

“Thanks kitty,” Ladybug said “but we need to save that little girl. I don’t know what that akuma’s object is, and it’s beginning to be difficult for me to care, but maybe if I can get close enough to her we can find out.”

“Ok simple enough, one problem though, how do we get past ‘The Children’ and keep Mère de la mort still enough?”

Marinette racked her brain for an answer. There had to be something keeping her here, but what?

She scanned the scene, and it hit her!

“Chat, can you make this fight as entertaining as possible?”

He scoffed “I can be a regular class clown if you’d like”

“Good, then try to keep up mon minou” She charged straight into battle, yo-yos a blazing.

Chat sidestep another rock that was launched at his face.

“Um bugaboo? As much as I enjoy wounding my local postman, who by the way has a mean right hook, I’m starting to run out of steam here”

Ladybug was doing no better. The adrenaline and big talk they had built up was catching up to them and fast. Any more of this and their bodies were gonna crash, hard.

Luckily Mère de la mort had done exactly what Ladybug had hoped. She was seated rather comfortably with a latte in her hand, yucking it up at their hopeless attempts at getting close to her.

‘Dumbass’ she thought smugly

“Chat can you handle things here?” She asked

Thanking her favorite partner in crime, Ladybug focused all her attention forward. Pushing down the soreness in her muscles she broke out into a dead sprint right at Mère de la mort’s head.

She yawned dismissively “Especially since those cigarette butts littered around you can have quite a bit of kick when a little heat is applied”

Ladybug suddenly took grim notice of her position. Everywhere she looked there were cigarettes just haphazardly littered about. She tried getting up but her legs would not move, they were too tired. She was stuck.

As the dust cleared there was only Chat, his body crashed through a display window, clutching a eerily silent body.

An aching pain shot through his whole system, he could barely keep his eyes open. He pushed through it and forced himself upright to check on his lady. He had hoped that the suit would have bounced off some of the blast.

But there was no suit

There was no ladybug

Only a tattered and bruised Marinette lying limp in his arms.

His brain didn’t know what to catch up to first. The fact that one of his best friends (and so called “Wife”) was ladybug, the fact that he had just seen her beating down an akuma with no plan, or the fact that he had to find out via explosion.

He checked for a pulse. It was terribly faint.

All other questions seemed irrelevant now.

“Mari” he called out, lightly shaking her “you have to get up now”

Her eyes were not opening. He nudged a little harder “Princess this is no time to be tired. You've gotta give me a sign, anything. You know Elly can't grow up without you.”

He pushed away some broken wood to find anything that might wake her up but even if it was there it was all burnt to a crisp by now. He tucked her in close to his chest, just enough to hear a whisper “Fine, I can’t grow up without you either." his heart ached as he cried over her "Please Mari, please don’t die on me.”

A gentle breeze ghosted across his neck

He briskly wiped off his tears and breathed off a sigh of relief

“So it was the studious mother that was defending her child in the name of a mother’s love...how anticlimactic”

the sound of crunching glass resonated through the broken shop when she strolled in

Chat couldn’t even look his daughter in the eyes. The pain filled horror on her face was enough to shatter his heart alone. She stood in the doorway, silently begging for him to tell her it would all be ok. Chat gripped tighter onto Marinette. This was no way for her to see them.

La mère gripped at his hair and stared deep into his jade-like eyes “My my, now that’s a cute face if I’ve ever seen one. Hey, if you like my little Elly so much, I wouldn’t be opposed to making another one with you.”

Chat swiped at her face, claws engulfed in black flame “Feisty and a little crazy? I think I rather like you.”

La mère looked down at Marinette, all blacked out and bloodied. She tutted disapprovingly “Not looking good is she? Quite frankly you aren’t looking too hot either pet.”

She squatted down looked into chat’s hate filled eyes “I’ll give you one more chance. Give me the miraculous and I’m on my way. No one will have to die today. I suggest, however, that you make a decision fast, my patience and charity are quite running quite thin.”

his mind raced a mile a minute with any possible ways out of this. But it was hopeless. Even if they did get away, there was no guarantee that Elly would go unscathed. There were out of luck, both good and bad. Adrien's met with Elly's. The smile on his face made her cry.

“Hey sunshine” he consoled “I know things aren't really good right now, but mama and papa need you to promise something ok?”

Elly hiccuped relentlessly as she nodded

“Promise us that you’ll still be our smiling little sunflower until we come to get you. Then I promise, you can cry all you want ok?”

It took her a while, but eventually she gulped down her tears, wiped her face with her sleeve and put on her brightest smile “Ok papa, I promise I won't cry anymore."

He return her warm grin with one of his own “There’s our happy girl”

La mère stood between them and glared down “Do we have a deal?”

Wordlessly, Adrien removed his ring. Even with his superhero healing the scars that littered his body would probably take forever to heal. He removed Marinette’s earring with a gentle hand and handed them over, all the while giving La mère a look of pure rage.

“Pleasure doing business with you. My offer for another Elly still stands by the way”

And like that it was just Adrien and Marinette. Laid out on the boutique floor with nothing to show for their efforts. No powers, no plan, no Eloise

Hi all, I recently got my drivers license when I turned 17, and am now looking to buy a car. I'm looking at a Foxbody mustang 5.0. Before the omg 17 get a civic comments, I can drive, I seldom speed, and when I do, its on an empty road in the middle of the night. I have track experience and know how to control a car, don't try to convince me otherwise. Now, my problem. Obviously mustang insurance for a 17yr old will be nuts, but right now I'm on my parents insurance policy so I can drive their car(1 car family), and a friend of mine told me I could just insure my car under my dad's name and claim that I drive it occasionally. Will applying for medicaid affect the insurance I have now in any way?

I am 32 weeks pregnant and I am covered under my dad's insurance through Tricare. I remain eligible under his insurance until I am 23 and everything is full coverage. However, as soon as my baby is born he is not covered at all. I am looking into my options and I read that if I apply for medicaid now, then I can call the day my baby is born and just have him added on so that way he will have coverage right away. I am worried if I do try and apply for medicaid now that it will affect the insurance I am covered under now by Tricare. I do want to stay under tricare, I do not want to lose this insurance and its coverage if that is the case. I am also worried that since I have to wait until the baby is born to apply him for his own insurance through CHIP or Medicaid - whichever one he ends up qualifying - that I will have to wait a long time before he is actually covered and I know the baby is going to need check ups and a pediatrician right away.
