I don't like leather and don't like gourmands, but I can get behind this leather gourmand if we want to call it that. It's Dzing! by L'Artisan Parfumeur. It picks up the benzoin where Candy left off and takes the sweets to the circus. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When you first spray it, you definitely get a blast of the barnyard and cotton candy mixed together, maybe you’re at a kid's birthday party at the petting zoo. The barnyard smell is thanks to castoreum but also hay which brings a sweetness. There's a bit of a skanky musk, a waxiness, and powdery sweet benzoin. Some people think that January is the longest month, but I didn’t mind it. The days are finally getting longer, and I relish each extra minute of sunlight that we get. I know it won't get warmer here for a while, so I'm still rotating through my ambers, smelling new things, and sharing perfume with anyone who wants some. Be thoughtful, enjoy your time here. Some beautiful perfume helped me get through the month, or at least enjoy it. Meharées by @erbolario and Musk Ravageur by @fredericmalle. Ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, and a sprinkle of lemon sugar is the perfect recipe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I got a decant of L'Erbolario Méharées, and I fell in love with it from the very first spray. I finished my decant immediately and looked around for a bottle. I would even say that it was the best $50 I spent on perfume last year. I have a few cheapies in my collection, but a lot of them are thin and watery, but this one isn't. It's on the sweet side but has a certain amount of complexity which I really enjoy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Musc Ravageur is not exactly like Méharées but nobody said it was. The drydown is the same, and Musc Ravageur is surprisingly sweet for a Malle creation. The spices are more present than they are in Méharées. The samples I have are also missing the lemon sugar opening from Méharées, and there's a soft animalic purr that comes out a little while into its wear. If this is a seduction, it's a slow, sly one that sneaks up on you. Hello my friends ! What is your scent of the day ? Mine is Coolwater the coolestest edition by @davidoffparfums !!!!!! This is a Anniversary special edition and i think a big improvement on the origanol dna ! It is lighter, fresher and more aromatic with cypress and a good change up from the origanol dna. I find this flanker easier to wear , more modern and more youthful ! I wish they would have changed the dna of the origanol completely, and i do this is inspired a bit by pacific rock moss , but i can only speculate ! I get about 7 hours longevity and projection is average. This fragrance is not amazing , but still work a mention, especially when you can find a 6.7oz bottle for 35 dollars. #fragrancereview ~ Black Gemstone by Stephane Humbert Lucas 777 {2013} ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've always been intrigued by this fragrance with its enigmatic presentation and more so because of its somewhat unique composition. I find myself drawn to these bold and mysterious scent profiles as I delve deeper into my olfactive journey to better understand what appeals to me. Black Gemstone with its smoky woody accords was an instant hit for me, a veritable 'love at first sniff' affair. With a rather bold opening featuring a strong woody accord laced with a tart lemon note, a pairing that I don't often see but one that works incredibly well in this fragrance, you're transported toa an exotic location. This is followed closely by a dry yet sweet resinous accord that is dark before exploring into a smoky incense dominated drydown that is absolutely beautiful. It resonates power, strength and nobility and will certainly appeal to alphas. I was especially pleased to discover this elixir waxing strong on my skin over 12hrs later with a perceptible projection that is highly commendable. This is not a safe blind buy though unless you enjoy being surprised. It's the polarizing type in my opinion so you'll either love it or hate it but you do owe it to yourself to give this gem a try!
