I don't like leather and don't like gourmands, but I can get behind this leather gourmand if we want to call it that. It's Dzing! by L'Artisan Parfumeur. It picks up the benzoin where Candy left off and takes the sweets to the circus. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When you first spray it, you definitely get a blast of the barnyard and cotton candy mixed together, maybe you’re at a kid's birthday party at the petting zoo. The barnyard smell is thanks to castoreum but also hay which brings a sweetness. There's a bit of a skanky musk, a waxiness, and powdery sweet benzoin. Hello and happy New Year !!!! I decided to celebrate with Vintage Beau De Jour by @tom Ford ! This is a very mass appealing modern fougere that does not overpoer you with oakmoss, pine, or anything else. The citrus is delightful with playful herbacous accords. The lavender is super likable, and I don't get much of the patchouli. The soft amber adds a little warmth. The new version is fantastic, too, and even fresher. The oroganol is a little more green, and the amber comes through a little more. The new version is fresher and even has a little aquatic vibe underneath. I get 7 hours and average performance from this. If you like massappealing fragrances, you might like this, but if you like powerful and green fougeres, this might not be for you. Anyways, do you like Tom Ford ? A little Guerlain round-up. Samsara EDP, L'Heure Bleue EDT, and the new Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Vetiver. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Nerolia Vetiver is the newest to me, so I won't say much about it. I've only worn it once. Ok, well I will say that there's not a lot of vetiver especially if something like Chanel Sycomore is your reference. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ L'Heure Bleue... I adore this perfume, it gets me many compliments, great in the summer time... I left this bottle with my mom and it's weird that I really idealized how it smelled which I didn't think I could do. I have the EDP also, and it's much stronger. I feel like I enjoy the EDT more, maybe because I got it first. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Samsara EDP... A little old bottle I got in a swap and it smells intact. Honestly, I've smelled a lot of new perfumes this month, maybe too many new perfumes since a top tier fancy niche store is open 10 minutes from here, but Samsara still knocks it out of the park for me. Again, spraying from samples and in store is sometimes different from owning a bottle and living with a perfume, but yeah, it's hard to be wowed by anything when I can come home to this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, an empty fireplace seems like a nice place to store your perfume collection. Finally started my collection of #vintagefragrance for 2017, I originally stumbled upon a vintage bottle of Chanel No 5 from the 50's which I'm waiting to arrive in the mail, but I also came across this awesome vintage Miss Dior set at an antique store the other day. So cool to smell the vibe from the 60's, I heard talks of a few men on base notes that loved wearing Miss Dior and since I don't gender associate with fragrance I decided to buy some my self-I'm sure glad that I did! 👌🏾Both the Parfum and the Cologne bare similarities, but the over all compositions are quite different. The Parfum is much more rich and aldehydic with the creaminess of civet laying in the background, while the cologne leans more on the sweet side with soft notes of vanilla and florals. I also have the eau de toilette as well from the same time period. Has any one smelled vintage Miss Dior before, what are your thoughts on it? http://ift.tt/2jyWOxb
