October 18: “Did you plan for this to happen?”
“Darling, what on earth?”
Harry spun around to confront the voice in the doorway to the kitchen, spilling a bit of batter from the bowl and onto the floor as he did. It was one in the morning, in his defense, and he’d been very contentedly working in the kitchen while his husband slept in their bed. “Oh,” he said, looking around at the counter covered in baking ingredients, a pan of apple crisp already cooling on the sill.
“What in Merlin’s name are you doing?” Draco asked, all soft and sleep rumpled, rubbing his eyes as he wandered in and pulled himself up onto the counter, nicking a chunk of apple from the cutting board and popping it into his mouth.
A soft crunch, followed by a hum and Harry was lost. Completely gone on him.
“You silly goose,” he said, reaching out with his toes to nudge Harry’s thigh, “did you plan for this to happen?” he asked, gesturing at the baked goods waiting their turn for the oven. “Why are you up baking at this hour?”
And Harry blinked at him, didn’t really know, couldn’t really articulate the way the the love in his body got restless sometimes. The way it yearned for an outlet, for the freedom to give itself away. “I get-” he shrugged, gestured with his spatula, “my body-” he shook his head. Tried again, “my heart,” he said softly, “it’s too big for my body sometimes?”
Draco tilted his head, waited.
“I just. Sometimes, I love you and I love our friends so much and I don’t know-” he broke off and shook his head. “It’s too big for my body to hold,” he said. “And what am I meant to do with it all? How can I ever-?” Harry trailed off again, looking at Draco uncertainly.
“Ever what, sweet?” he asked indulgently.
Harry looked down at the batter for the pumpkin roll, then back up at Draco. “My life is so good,” he whispered. “So full of joy and love, so full of people who make it-” he broke off helplessly, couldn’t put it all into words. “And where can I put it all?”
“Sweetheart,” gentle, too gentle, too much love, too much; Harry was far too small to receive that much.
“So sometimes I just start baking,” Harry confessed, hurried on before he got too emotional. “I don’t know where else to put it, so I bake.”
“Come here,” Draco murmured, holding out his arms.
Helplessly, Harry set down the bowl on the counter and moved toward him. Wouldn’t, couldn’t, deny the other man his love when his whole body was so full of it. “I’m a mess,” he said, gesturing to his apron covered in batter.
“Mine,” Draco replied, tugging him closer and wrapping him up tight. “My sweet love,” he pressed a kiss to his temple. “Too good for this world. How could you be so good?” he asked, more to himself than Harry. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Harry replied , and that was the point, wasn’t it? That he loved him so much, couldn’t contain it, couldn’t hold it, couldn’t give enough of it away.
When the oven timer went off, Draco pulled back, “can I stay with you while you bake?”
Harry’s heart, a bursting, bubbling thing in his chest. Too big, too full, too joyful. “Do you want to?” he managed.
Nodding, Draco swiped another slice of apple from the cutting board.
“Alright, then,” he said, helpless and fond, so in love he couldn’t do anything to hold back the way it must be pouring off of him.
“Alright.” Draco smiled back and Harry just let himself exist in all of the love he had.

want to give my two cents on the AI usage in the maestro trailer--
i think seventeen doing a whole concept that is anti-AI is very cool, especially as creatives themselves i think it's good that they're speaking up against it and i hope it gets more ppl talking about the issue. i also understand on a surface level the artistic choice (whether it was made by the members, the mv director, or whoever else), to directly use AI in contrast to real, human-made visuals and music in order to criticize it. i also appreciate that they clearly stated the intention of the use of AI at the beginning of the video
however, although i understand it to an extent, i do not agree with the choice to use AI to critique AI. one of the main ethical concerns with generative AI is that it is trained on other artists' work without their knowledge, consent, or compensation. and even when AI generated images are being used to critique AI, it still does not negate this particular ethical concern
the use of AI to critique also does not negate the fact that this is work that could have been done by an actual artist. i have seen some people argue that it's okay in this context because it's a critique specifically about AI, and it is content that never would have been done by a real artist anyway because it doesn't make sense for the story they're trying to tell. but i disagree. i think you can still tell the exact same story without using AI
and in fact, i would argue that it would make the anti-AI message stronger if they HAD paid an artist to draw/animate the scenes that are supposed to represent AI generated images. wouldn't it just be proof that humans can create images that are just as bad and nonsensical and soulless as AI, but that AI can't replicate the creativity and beauty and basic fucking anatomy that's in human-made art?
it feels very obvious this was not just a way to cut corners and costs like a lot of scummy people are using AI for. ultimately it was a very intentional creative decision, i just personally think it was a very poor one. and even if some ethical considerations were taken into account before this decision, i certainly don't think all of them were. at the very least i feel like the decision undermines the message they want to convey
i would also like to recognize that i myself am not an artist, and i have seen some artists that are totally on board with the use of AI in this specific context, so clearly this is not a topic that is cut and dry. but generative AI is still new, and i think it's important to keep having these conversations

ridi im sorry i need to rant and i think youll get it 😭 like not to be a bitch but this fandom kinda going off the rails and annoying the shit out of me https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRbYASpf/ everybody in the comments unironically loving it,,, i mean wtvr ship who you want but its kinda getting delusional like ppl are just operating on thin air and pretty fancasts atp and i do Not understand or emotionally connect with any of it. at least w wolfstar theres so much material and foundation to explore but what is all the rest of this?? just hot celebrity fancasts and crack. to be fair part of me respects taking a terfs canon material and making everybody gay but the way it seems to be so oversaturating fics and the fandom that characters dont even feel like their original selves .. atp its all just surface level OCs
hello! yes! i'll be honest talking about things like this always make me a little nervous, and i feel obligated to preface anything i say with a disclaimer that none of it really matters, nothing i say matters, and you should do what you like, because--who cares. i am not an authority on--anything, frankly. my opinion holds no more weight than the next guy's, and all i'm doing here is giving it, so. essentially what im saying is--people are perfectly entitled to disagree with me, but people are not entitled to be mean to me about it xx
having said that. it is my personal opinion that s x barty is one of the worst fucking things i have ever heard lol. who even is barty who is that guy. why would s be interested in him at all. i do not understand it it does not make sense to me. from where are we sourcing the character traits and personality that we are giving barty that would ever endear sirius to him, because it objectively cannot be canon.
overall i do not get the new interest in barty + evan + pandora (+ regulus, but we won't go there)...at all, other than guessing that people were bored with the marauders and wanted a new version of them (and new celebrities to fancast) while simultaneously changing next to nothing about them other than superimposing them onto the first slytherin side characters they could rustle up. i expect ive become a bit of a broken record in regards to my dislike of the popular meow-meow-ification + complete absolution of regulus as a character in order to make him a loveable oc (just as i think erasing all the negative traits that r/s have in order to make them more likeable is just as boring), and all of that applies to those other guys as well (with the slight difference that they are, somehow, even less interesting and significant than regulus in canon), so i won't get into that too much. but i think what you say about having no emotional connection to any of it is exactly right lol--it is a sort of shift? i guess? in the fandom that is simply of no interest to me. they are characters that i just have no emotional investment in and admittedly struggle a little to understand why other people do. i am emotionally invested in, like, five characters overall (and even out of those--there's only two i'm really here for innit xx) and i personally cannot extend that investment to a creepy little side character who is mentioned maybe twice in the entire series.
and that is okay! i do not need to understand it. i don't want to say it annoys me because honestly--i don't go there, its nothing to do with me. if i dont like it i just wont interact with it, and the fact that it doesn't interest me has no bearing on what other people are into or want to do, and i couldn't give less of a shit what people do with the canon material, which is largely garbage anyway. take the bits you want from it, play around with those and ignore the rest. in that respect we are all doing exactly the same thing. but yeah i think s x barty is genuinely awful lol. hate it. very terrible. he's already got a loser werewolf boyfriend and he loves him so so much. leave him alone.
