help me with my fic part 2!!!

im thinking about writing a marauders fic about a student studying abroad at hogwarts. part one of the poll can be found here, where I ask if you be more inclined to read it if it was jegulus, wolfstar, or my own creation with one of the characters?

next question for this poll is would you prefer it to be an american from ilvermorny transfering to hogwarts OR hogwarts being a four year college instead of hogwarts as we know it (this is mainly just bc it would pain me to write any of the marauders as american LMAO. so if I were to do this it could be like they all went to whatever perscpective high schools and go to hogwarts as university)

Time and Perscpective

So I am very much against the HTTYD live action for normal reasons (not everything needs to be a live action and nothing needs to be a live action less than this franchise) but I wanted to talk about the casting.

They have cast somebody non-white as astrid and I am not in anyway upset that they did it, it just makes me uncomfy to think about why they must have done it. To me, this doesn't feel like someone trying to push for more diverse rolls in media, because if it were they would have made a brand new film.

They had to know what people were going to say about this. To get the record straight, I think if this film insists on existing, this is a perfectly acceptable casting choice, I despise this film overall. But this is a viking setting and if there's one thing that racists hate it non-white people in these nordic setting. (I'm not an anthropologist so I know nothing about this) I just can't understand why a casting director would put a young, I imagine very talented, actress through what I am imagining is going to be an immense amount of racist backlash for a movie nobody really wants in the first place.

To sum up, this whole casting feels very eggy from a safegaurding perscpective and I don't think people really thought about it.

Iterative Artworks

After I decided to collect water samples from seven different locations, I created a collection of geographical maps of these sites and edited them to prepare as potential stencils for another artwork. This process of using maps in art raises some questions for me about my motivation and intention.

Am I trying to gain a better understanding of place from a birds eye perscpective? Or am I transforming the shapes of these watersheds into an abstract artwork? Either way, I am defiinetly interested in water, the environment, exploring identity and what it means to be human.

A new writing perscpective/ challenge

I can't say if this will ever have book potential. But I'm going to challenge myself to write with Villains as the Main Characters. I think I'm too hung up on hero's and trying to keep alignments as good or neutral. When listening to books, I keep imagining evil alignments. So if I turn all my heros into villains, I'm fairly certain I can accomplish anything and have a book published.

And the best part, I can't remember truely reading a Villain book. So I don't have to worry about overthinking this side of thing. Now to practice creating villains.
