a/n: hi fellas, i have hypersomnia, which basically just means i fall asleep a lot so here’s the brothers with a very sleepy mc.

At first, the brothers are kind of confused. Demons don’t need as much sleep as humans and they’re baffled by your excessive sleeping. Do all humans sleep so much? Why are you always flaring your teeth at them? (They later learn that this is called yawning.)

Lucifer initially thinks you’re lazy and it honestly bothers him. Simultaneously you remind him of a certain brother, so he also lets many things you do slide. He'll just sigh when you fall asleep 45 minutes into one of his lectures. “I think they understood my point,” he says, before turning to Mammon and continuing his lesson for a good two hours. As you get closer, he understands that you aren't lazy and he even lets you sleep in his office at R.A.D. whenever you need it.

One late evening you trudge into his office, blanket in hand. He looks at you with a raised brow. "Bed, now. You haven't slept properly in like 3 days," you say, while pointing your finger threateningly at him. Much to his own surprise, he finds himself in his bed with you snuggling into his side. He supposes you kind of complete each other in that way, where he sleeps too little, you sleep too much.

The first time you fall asleep during one of your hangouts with Mammon he’s annoyed. He lets you sleep it out because you just look too cute when you’re sleeping, but when you wake up he’s crossing his arms and pouting. “Am I really that boring, huh?” Luckily, we all know the great Mammon can never stay mad with you for too long, so he warms up to you again within an hour or so. If you want you can always speed up the process significantly by giving him kisses or a big hug. It works every single time.

Once he realizes you don’t fall asleep because of him, but because you’re just so damn tired, he stops getting bothered by it. Instead, he just tugs you in, covering you in blankets. He'll even scold his brothers if they're being too loud around you. This just causes them to make fun of him, but always at a lower noise level.

Leviathan is also hurt at first, especially because you fell asleep during an anime marathon. He’s a bit harder to make happy again. He’s absolutely convinced it has something to do with him. No matter how many times you tell him he doesn’t believe you until one day when you fall asleep in the middle of a conversation with Mammon. The sight makes him laugh so hard, he almost falls over.

After that, he doesn’t mind anymore. After all, if you fall asleep around Mammon, then it's probably you who's the problem, not him. He lets you sleep with your head in his lap. He’ll even tread his fingers through your hair, but he’ll never admit that to you when you’re awake. Once you wake up again he’s happy to give you a recap of what you missed in the episode, plus an analysis of the dialogue and the hidden meanings of certain scenes.

Satan doesn’t mind at first, because he likes how it bothers Lucifer. He even helps you get away with it. When you fall asleep during class, he’ll put a book in front of you so the teacher can’t see and he’ll answer the question for you if you’re called on. He even begins to write notes for you. Later it just becomes a habit of his, he does it for you without thinking.

If he’s reading aloud for you and you fall asleep, a smile will tug at his lips and he’ll just continue reading for you. Because of you, he begins researching human sleeping patterns. After he reads that certain foods can make you more energized, he begins to carry fruits and nuts with him, which he offers you whenever you get sleepy.

Asmodeus thinks beauty sleep is very important. It’s only natural that someone as beautiful as you should sleep a lot. Besides that, he’s probably the one who wakes you up from your sleep the most. Too much sleep can be bad for you as well! Besides that, he can't wait for you to wake up to share the insane gossip he just heard. You need to hear it now!

Like with Lucifer, you remind Beelzebub of Belphegor. A lot. His chest hurts when he finds you sleeping in the living room and he carries you to bed. When you fall asleep on his shoulder, he pats your head. He likes just looking at you when you sleep. Not in a creepy way, you just look so peaceful. It soothes the ache in his chest.

If you get too tired while you're out on a trip or assignment, Beel will often offer to piggyback you. Beel is a big guy, he could carry Diavolo around if he wanted to. With you on his back, he barely even registers your weight. His arms hook around your legs and sometimes his fingers will dig into your thighs. He likes the way you wrap your arms around his neck and the way he can feel your breath on his ear, while you whisper things to him. Most of all he likes when you fall asleep and he can hear your soft breathing.

Once you become friends with Belphegor, he’s excited to have a sleeping buddy. You come up to the attic to have your midday nap with him and he immediately opens his arms for you. “I’m serious, Belphie, only one hour,” you say, while setting the alarm on your D.D.D. “You know I can’t sleep for any longer than that.” Belphegor just nods sleepily and traps you in his arms. Once you're asleep, he grabs your phone and turns off the alarm.

When Beel comes to wake you up, saying it’s time for dinner, Belphie just laughs when you slap him lightly and complain that you slept for three hours. After that, you refuse to nap with him anymore until he swears that he won’t mess with your alarm again.

One time you mentioned that you have a hard time waking up in the mornings. The constant night of the Devildom is really messing with your brain. That very same day, a new bed lamp is ordered for you. One of those that imitate the sunrise in the morning, slowly lighting up your room as you wake up. You’re a lot more energetic in the mornings after that, a sight that makes all of the brothers smile your way at breakfast.

I have a question for you based on your headcanon on Demetri. I'm sorry if you've answered this already though in previous posts. I wanted to know the relationship dynamic between Demetri and Felix. Obviously, you've stated that Demetri would be a toxic partner, but how does that bleed into his relations with others (especially Felix)? Felix is pretty levelheaded and grounded so he would know and identify his behaviour, right? How do you view their relationship, the bond and the healthiness of it all? Does he have any boundaries with Demetri? Does Felix address his behaviourisms and trauma with Him, and keep him in line in a brotherly way or turn a blind eye? personally, I doubt Felix would stay completely silent if Demetri did perse get a mate and was manipulative, toxic (even emotionally abusive?) to them.

and how do Felix and Demetri maintain a stable and somewhat healthy bond? Because, in all honesty, I doubt you could stay friends with someone for over 1000 years if the relationship was utterly toxic.

This is quit a long ask so I’m gonna break it down into pieces that I think will help us understand some of my thoughts/HC regarding this.

On human/vampire relationships in general:

It’s important to understand first that I do think with the way that it is written in Twilight it is virtually impossible for there to be a healthy relationship between a vampire and a human. 

From the pheromones, to the strength, to the clear power imbalances any human would have in a relationship with a member of the Volturi guard, there is simply no advantage a human would have over either Felix or Demetri.

On Felix’s character:

I would also like to reiterate that Felix is not necessarily a good person. He might be very protective of those he cares about but doing his duties require at the very least indifference to the value of life and most likely even some enjoyment for what he does. In book canon, he makes several off color comments about killing Bella and about her looks.

Also Felix eats people guys. I know we all love him and have very fanciful ideas about him as a mate but realistically, he’s probably not interested in having a human mate long term and is probably eager to turn them.

Many of those power imbalances that make a relationship with a vampire unequal are very much present in a relationship with Felix — maybe even more so.

That said, I think you’re right to point out that he wouldn’t go out of his way to add to it but I can’t pretend Felix is free of these behaviors entirely.

On Demetri’s character:

I’ve expressed in this post how I see Demetri as being particularly sadistic. While I stand by that, even if he is more sadistic than some members of the Volturi/guard he’s not the most sadistic.

If his behavior somehow was too much for the Volturi he simply wouldn’t be in it. Ergo, it’s not. So while it isn’t exactly how Felix would behave, he has no qualms.

I also see Demetri as someone who would be controlling in a relationship. This is mostly because once again, he does not want his mate to stay human very long and will do whatever it takes to get them to agree to the change.

If we’re getting into some of my personal Demetri lore, some of this is left over anxiety following the death of his wife as a human. Despite that human memories tend to fade for vampires over time, I imagine core parts of their psychology at the time of turning stay relatively cemented (this is a hc to make the memory thing make more sense bc it really wouldn’t work given modern psychology). Thus, while he may not remember the details of why he reacts this way, he does.

It is also within the subtext of canon that the Volturi expect new vampires to cut off all their previous friends and family — I can’t imagine it’s any different for their own mates.

On Felix and Demetri’s relationship:

Simply put, they don’t really have that same toxicity between them — logistically there isn’t reason for there to be.

As it goes for them, they’re pretty much on equal footing. They rank similarly, they’re both vampires, they both have the same goals, and anyone they loved as a human is long dead.

Anything that might bog down a human friendship, like for example, significant time spent apart, isn’t a big deal for vampires — especially ones as old as them.

I do think Felix might stick up a bit for a vampire mate of Demetri’s if he was being unfair but even his own kings keep their wives drugged up in a tower, so he might sympathize to some extent with wanting to protect your mate to the nth degree even if he’s not in agreement with it. It all depends on the specific situation.

TLDR; what we consider moral/amoral and abusive in relationships doesn’t fully translate to vampires. They’re inherently kind of toxic and amoral so they have their own entirely separate understandings of those things.

Depending on what specifically you work with (i.e. how big the loom is) it might not be relaxing perse but he sticks around anyway.

honestly, that man can sleep through a train derailing he's probably napping while you work.

He lovessss all the clothes you make him.

He probably won't wear it out very often because he doesn't want it to get dirty and messed up, but trust that he lives in it at home.

The one exception he has to wearing what you make him out is to formal events where he isn't concerned anything is going to happen.

He loves to gloat about how you made it just for him and everyone else should be dropping dead with jealousy.

Tommy only really accepts one or two tapestries from you because he doesn't have that many places he could put them.

Assuming at least one is pretty large, one goes in his office and sits on the wall behind his desk. He loves pointing it out when talking to prospective business partners.

The second would go in his (or your shared) bedroom on a sidewall so he can look at it while falling asleep.

Python

This guy is pretty much the opposite.

He loves any tapestry you make him and slowly builds a collection so he can switch them out seasonally.

He also displays them in his office for similar reasons but prefers smaller pieces to display on sidewalls rather than behind him.

Since he works behind the scenes and isn't getting as dirty nearly as often as his brother, Python is much more comfortable wearing the clothes you make him day-to-day.

He actually really enjoys matching his suits to the shirt you made or vice-versa.

If you work on anything larger or louder than a small tabletop loom, he probably isn't hanging out with you while you work. Poor guy is far too prone to migraines for that.

He prefers you make his formal attire, and will help prep everything you need to make him look perfect.

Yes, he does buy you some of the highest-quality threads to use for your art.

Mars

A bit stressed about being able to return that favor because he sees how much time and effort goes into one bolt of fabric or one tapestry.

You are going to need to convince him to take it.

He makes a request pretty early on to make sure any clothes you make are dark because he works outside with his brother a lot and doesn't want to have the stains show on your hard work.

He helps you sew to ease his conscience.

Regardless, he loves wearing what you make him and practically lives in them.

Tapestries tend to get to him more.

He's comforted by the fact that they are display-only but is still a bit itchy about not being able to repay the effort.

While he likes to mount smaller pieces to the walls, anything of significant size is actually used as a decorative blanket and rotated out randomly to mix it up.

Jupiter

Screams cries dies.

He loves everything you make him and will cook you a lavish meal to return the favor.

He is super good about cleaning everything super well, so you don't need to worry about him staining your hard work.

Make him linens. He is outside all the time in the hot sun all day he needs light and airy clothing.

He is actually a bit confused by the first tapestry you try to give him. Not necessarily because he doesn't know what one is or anything, he just didn't really consider it would be something a person would gift to someone that isn't like. royalty or something.

No matter the size, he tries to use it as a blanket the first night.

You're gonna need to explain it.

After that he's fine.

He does the same thing as Mars and treats a few pieces as decorative throws.

One tapestry is currently being used as a curtain.

I think Baatar Jr's resentment for his family had been growing for a while before he left. I'd say maybe the feeling of resentment grew much faster after Opal got her airbending? I wouldn't say he'd want bending perse. But definitely seeing the sister he probably shared this sense of kinship with (since they were the only nonbender kids) thrive as a bender would be constantly poking at a sore spot.

And at the same time he's met with the golden opportunity to prove himself. To step out of his father's shadow and prove himself just as, if not more capable as his siblings? He JUMPED.

I think the twins would do this a few times, especially when they were younger. I headcanon that Wing would do it more for practical jokes and pranks while Wei would absolutely do it to get out of trouble. I don't think a lot of people are actually good at telling them apart, especially when they're trying to pass as each other. I think Kuvira and Huan would be the best at telling them apart.

Baatar Jr can't tell for shit. I think he sorta sees them as more of a unit, since I can see him bearing a bit of hostility and jealousy towarss them. They're everything he isn't.

Opal's fave genre of book is adventure! She loves stories about scrappy wanderers and galant heroes braving the great unknown! All her life, she's longed to be like them, and to see the whole wide world and help the needy!

She also has a huge amount of cheesy romance books, but they're not actually hers. She's 'safekeeping' them for Wing, who's big on romance novels, but is too embarassed to keep them in his and Wei's room.

Hmmm... Huan actually likes taking care of kids, even though he acts like he hates it. He's good with kids and actually treats them as equals. He finds them interesting and calls childish scribbles the purest form of art. After the Earth Empire, he would often volunteer to take care of kids touched by the war and give free art lessons and workshops.

He also likes gardening. He yells at the plants, however.

Insomnia sucks, but do not dread! Demons do not need as much sleep as humans, which means they can devote plenty of time to helping you fall asleep instead!

The first thing Lucifer notices is the delayed reflexes and clumsiness. He originally thinks it’s just because you’re a human. Then he notices that you're quite frustrated with it which confuses him, because if that's the standard for humans then surely you'd be used to it, right? Still, he decides to observe you for a little while, before he confronts you.

It all collides one morning, when you drop your cup of coffee and burn your wrist, causing you to wince. Lucifer is immediately there, tending to you. "Are you hurt? Do you need ice on it?" You pull your hand to yourself and bite your lip, frustrated with it all. "I'm fine," you say, but now that he's close to you he finally notices the bags around your eyes. "Why do you look so tired?" he asks. You blink at him, baffled by his bluntness. "Just haven't been sleeping right," you eventually answer.

He immediately brainstorms how he can fix it. Do you need a new bed? Another pillow? Is the temperature in your room alright? He's very attentive after that and always assures you that the door to his office is open whenever you can't sleep.

Mammon notices that you have a hard time paying attention or focusing. You seem to doze off and stare into space often. He'll wave his hands in front of you. "Hey, human, you payin' attention?" he'll say and pout at you. He's such a whiner when your full attention isn't on him. "Sorry, Mams, I'm just tired," you say. "Yeah? Feel free to come to my room if you can't sleep," he'll offer an wink, despite his cheeks heating up.

He honestly doesn't expect you to take him up on his offer until he hears your soft knocking on his door. He immediately stumbles out of bed and throws his door open, grinning widely. When he catches your dissatisfied sleepy face, he tries to hold back a bit on his delight, obviously your discomfort is not a good thing, but he can't help being ecstatic that you're actually in his bed.

Leviathan notices because you always stay up really late with him to play video games. Don’t get him wrong, he likes playing with you, like a lot, but whenever he suggests going to bed, you always refuse. “One more game, please, Levi?” Come on, how can he say no to you? It’s just that one game always turns into three and the next thing he knows you’ve played for another hour.

One day he gathers up enough courage to ask you why and when you tell him you can’t fall asleep he immediately softens up. “Well, I, uh, so do you want to, maybe, I don’t know, sleep here?” His face is flushed but he insists that maybe it’ll be easier for you to sleep in the tub instead of your bed. You do sleep better that night, but it's not because of the tub, it's more because of Levi's calming breath and the slow heaving of his chest when he sleeps. After that, you often stay the night when you've played video games together and on the nights you have a particularly hard time falling asleep, you just lay there and listen to him sleep.

Satan reads for you until you fall asleep. He doesn't care how long it takes, he'll let you lay on his chest, while he reads for literal hours and he doesn't stop until he's absolutely sure that you're sleeping.

Like with sleepy MC, he'll begin to research why you can't sleep. He'll ask you if you're feeling stressed, offer to do your homework or if he needs to tell Lucifer to give you fewer chores. If he catches you drinking coffee or energy drinks, he'll tell you that those can actually worsen your sleep quality.

It gets to a point were you have to tell him that he's being kinda annoying about it. He'll frown and apologize. "I was just trying to help but I see that I might have overstepped." He's being dramatic here. Give him a couple of kisses and he's back at it again.

Whenever you wake too early in the morning and simply cannot lay in bed any longer Asmodeus is the one you go to. He's always up early, doing his skincare routine. He lets you sit in his bed, wrapped up in blankets, all bleary-eyed and with messy hair, while he’ll sit by his vanity. He thinks you look absolutely lovely, so sleepy and he'll look at you through the mirror, fighting the urge to smile and accidentally ruin his make-up.

Once he's done, he'll bring you to his chair and offer to do your skincare or makeup if you wear that. He'll take extra care, messaging your skin and shoulders. The sensation sometimes almost lulls you back to sleep.

Beelzebub absolutely hates it when you're cranky or depressed. "What's wrong?" he'll ask and when you tell him it's just because you didn't get any sleep, he gets quite confused. Humans get cranky if they don't get enough sleep? That seems awfully inconvenient...

I like to think that Beel is one of the best cuddlers of the brothers. He just has that build you know? He'll spoon you, wrap his arm around your waist and press kisses to your hair. If you ask, he'll tell you stories about his brothers, slowly lowering his voice to a point where it's just a low whisper. He waits till your breathing slows and he knows you're asleep. Then he'll kiss your head good night and go to sleep himself.

When you tell Belphegor that you have trouble sleeping, he doesn’t really understand you. What do you mean you can’t sleep? But you’re tired? Just go to bed?

Honestly, he’s kind of annoying about it but when he realizes that you genuinely just cannot sleep he apologizes. I don’t remember if this is ever addressed in the game, but I like to think that being around Belphegor actually makes humans kind of sleepy and because of that, naps are really nice with him because you actually manage to get some proper sleep.

Sometimes, Belphie and Beel team up and you all sleep together in the attic. You'll have Belphie facing you, face hidden in the crook of your neck, arms wrapped around you tightly. Then you'll have Beel behind you, an arm thrown over the both of you. It's the perfect combo, that helps you actually sleep through the night.

Ayyye, look it's Saturday again!

But it doesn't really count as a headcanon perse but lately I am obsessed with the thought of Ian and Anthony napping together. I love the idea of especially, lets say, that because Anthony might be having a hard time and he realizes that Ian is a source of comfort for him both nostalgic and for his personal life. So, like it is embarrassing for him to ask but he gets a hoodie or pillow or something that smells like Ian, belongs to Ian, and Anthony is comforted at night sleeping hanging on to the object that smells like Ian.

In most depictions of human bill cipher he is wearing an eyepatch. Here are some of my headcanons regarding that:

Under the eyepatch is just a hole that is a pocket dimension

The body originally had two eyes but he was like "what the fuck is this?" And just uh... took it out (I think he'd find the resulting pain fun)

There is another fully functioning eye underneath that he doesn't like to use, he probably just picked his favorite

He's embarrassed to now have the typical-human-amount of eyes so ignores one

There is an actual empty eye socket

He's blind in that eye

He snapped his finger and the human brain rewired itself so that he'd only need one eye, then I think he'd snap his finger to just close up one eye socket

Bonus

There is a tiny colony of [redacted] living inside and controlling him and the eyepatch is the door

Having two eyes is high maintenance, trust me I'd know (would not recommend) /j

I will say, since artists like to give him only one human eye bc he has one demon eye, it'd be cool to see a variation of that where he has no nose or mouth and like four fingers and whatnot. So he just speaks like he did before but without the glowing and maybe even just conjure body parts if he decides he wants them. I think it'd be pretty cool to get this version in fics too. And like when Bill is tryna be a normal human instead of doing the voice projection thingy, he uses sign language because I can imagine him finding having a mouth annoying (like eww what the fuck is all this new sensory information and why is it so slimy) and he'd be able to learn all of sign language with a snap of his fingers i imagine (imagine a fanfic/fanart where he sits down to take the time and learn it tho, like holy shit).

Well, I do suppose removing nose mouth and some fingers wouldn't be considered a human depiction perse, so I guess a humanoid version of Bill is more accurate to say.

12!Leo headcanons cause I just finished an assignment worth 130 points and I need something else to focus on

- Leo used to be a very quiet sleeper, he didn't toss around or snore, but after the season two finale aka Shredder beating the living daylight out of him, he snores, in a really loud, really odd way

- he doesn't toss around perse, but, sometimes he kicks his leg and jerks a bit before settling down again

- I saw in a tiktok that people that train for extended periods of time with swords may sometimes find themselves with their hands stuck stiff as if they were still holding the sword

- so I think that since Leo was in an unmoving state for so long getting full mobility into his arms and hands (and legs and body) took a while, he couldn't properly hold a spoon ir a pencil, but when he started getting better and training more his hands got stuck

- he freaked out

- so did everyone else until donnie did some small research

- if he laughs too much he'll start coughing

- and when he get's sick his coughs are wild, full from the diaphragm, the guys thought he was choking the first time it happened

- speaking of choking, he had trouble eating after walking up from his coma due to a number of reasons: his stomach couldn't handle solid foods, it shrunk a bit so he couldn't eat as much and had to be reminded to eat the first few weeks cause he just wasn't hungry, and he easily choked because his throat was in pain whenever he tried to eat

- he gets dizzy spells if he moves to fast during the first weeks

- also fainted due to lack of air because his throat would swell up

I realise I make a lot of angsty Leo hcs so imma start sharing the angst evenly with his brothers bc sharing is caring

this scaramouche socialmedia!au is actually ongoing but i think that it definitely deserves a spot on this list (and probably on june’s list too.) it’s a college!au where scaramouche and reader fake date to deal with scara’s fans and it’s a bad idea hehe. i also love all the twt bios they have!

i read this on my other account at the start of may and i love it so much so here’s a mention! this is a scaramouche modern teacher!au where their colleagues are lowkey trying to hook em up but they’re actually already married. it has my whole heart. there’s a lot of scaramouche on this list, huh?

i’ll admit this list is fairly short because i got the idea towards the end of this month (and i didn’t want to backtrack through my liked posts) so hopefully next month i’ll be able to praise many more writers on this site during my monthly top reads <3
