ROUND 4 PART 8!
Light The Fire Up In The Night (P3 Side) (Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth) VS Last Surprise (Persona 5)
youtube
youtube
LTFUITN
The better version of Light The Fire Up In The Night.
Mod's Statement:
I disagree with that propaganda, I love them both equally. This song slaps.
Also why is it "Persona Q?"
... Alright looked it up and it's because of it being based on Etrian Odyssey, which is called "Sekaiju no Meikyū," often abbreviated to SQ. So they took the Q from that.
Last Surprise
youll never see it COMIIIIING (jk you probably saw this submission coming)
Mod's Statement:
How was this only submitted once? I guess people just assumed someone else would do it?

Wisp rambles about GyoTengu, the post.
I'm digging in my own grave... But whatever.
Swap AU is hinted at with a $ in front. But SO!
We have the very obvious difference in aesthetics, no matter where you look. Gyokko is primarily white, but there's obvious color everywhere you look. Meanwhile, Hantengu appears as a usually dark colored old man. His tones make it hard to discern color. The only thing in common in their looks is that they're... grotesque, in a sense. Gyokko is self explanatory, with what his face in all the wrong spots, and his damn arms as well. Hantengu is a bit more low-key on this, with his lack of eye definition, gnarly limbs and nails, and massive tumor jutting out of his forehead.
And their personalities are also distinct. Gyokko is extroverted, (and the only one to reciprocate friendly feelings with Douma, to boot!), arrogant, egotistical, and macabre. He's very in your face about things. Hantengu, on the other hand is very much a coward, and afraid of nearly everything. He's introverted by definition, clearly presents as pathetic, a nervous wreck, and would clearly rather remain low-key.
But there IS one thing that they DO have alike though: their "delusions".
Gyokko believes himself to be a great artiste and a thing of beauty, and liked.... Hantengu thinks that, no matter what he does, he's innocent of wrong-doing, regardless of how out-there it seems.
Between that... It would seem like they'd never get along.
And you may have a point: their only canon interaction is when Hantengu is criticizing Gyokko on his lack of time frame (he said it was 90 year's since a meeting was called, when it was only 103<).
HOWEVER.
It's a comfort HC of mine, so to speak, that they're quite good friends with each other. I believe that their uh... (gestures to everything) will work creepily well. And I can see the two having a twistedly caring bond with each other. $And even as the Pillars, they might actually have a better chance at this, since, mostly through process of elimination (I gave Gyokko Mitsuri's role, while Hantengu got Iguro's)$ Still, you can assume where this heads with my suggestion, and their given roles.
They are as the sun and moon, distinct, yet reliant on each other.
Hantengu is the hateful introvert, Gyokko is the unorthodox extrovert.
Believe it or not, Hantengu actually makes the first move no matter where you look.
Perhaps it was under the urgings of the clones, or an awkward conversation starter, but it's there. And it's an odd feeling. For the both of them.
Gyokko, who only extended this "love" to another person once as a human, and only focuses his "love" towards his art, was attached to this rat (affectionate)? Hantengu, who's every extent of his "love" ended with a widow's kiss, and holds his "love" in a separate entity (Urogi, and not really) entirely from himself, was attached to this beast (affectionate)?
Very confusing indeed.
$Kokushibo somehow figured out that they're in love with each other WAY before even Hantengu did. And when he (terrifyingly) confessed to him, he just went, "Ah. Is he aware of it as well?"$
$So he goes, "P-Probably n-Wait what?!"$ (You can tell he's pining a bit...)
No matter what, Kokushibo figures it out, Douma grills him for it, Sekido, Aizetsu, Urogi, Karaku and Zohakuten playing reluctant match maker, and Gyokko himself finds it out WAY. TOO. DAMN. LATE.
Yes. Poor Gyokko indeed. In either case, I believe that he had made him a vase (corpse tree in the vase up to you in canon specifics) as a gift, only, you know, he forgot to give it to him. It was based off a scene of a rare calm Hantengu. You guessed it, Kokushibo figured its existence before its intended target.
This can serve as a nice scene of ship tease in either canon, before their uh... deaths.
See, if Iguro and Mitsuri get their scenes, of course these bastards do so also! $I'm actually working a post on how Hantengu views the other Pillars, and another HC comes into play with their relationship that can't be recreated in canon.$
The HC in question? Hmm...
$Inspired by Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth for this... Hantengu is just his last name. His given name is "Shiko". Plainly translated as "Fourth (or something death related) Child", it's very demeaning for someone like him. As he hates his name, he just says his name is "Hantengu" and nothing more. The only one to know this name is, you guessed it, Gyokko (named Managi Mizamura)! He just shrugged it off when he got told of it... and then he clarified why. Yeah. He promised to never call him by that again. But for a hint of tragedy, I like to believe that he asked him to call him that (for some damn reason) when they died together.$
Hehehe... Dear Rei provided me with some inspo... So I finished this specific HC in her honor.

Unlike its previous predecessor, Persona Q2 does not have a route selection, where your choice of the protagonist will affect how the story develops. The Investigation Team and SEES are not available party members at the very start of the game. Instead, the two groups join the Phantom Thieves after finding them in a specific Labyrinth. Persona 3 Portable's female protagonist is the first to join. While the second spin-off’s story centers around the companions of Persona 5, you can still play your fav Persona 3 and Persona 4 characters as you progress throughout the game. The Persona 5 protagonist: A second-year student at Shujin Academy and the leader of the Phantom Thieves, he is stealing the hearts of selfish adults in cognitive worlds and investigating Mementos while currently living above Café Leblanc on probation due to a false accusation leveled against him. The story will be centered around the companions of Persona 5** (**The events of the game takes place during the sixth heist - Sae Niijima's Palace - within the timeline of Persona 5/Royal to the moment when Akechi was a traitor, the timeline of Persona 4/Golden to the moment after Naoto Shirogane joins the Investigation Team after they defeated her Shadow, and the timeline of Persona 3/FES/Portable to the moment before Shinjiro’s death) Also, I'd prefer SAFETY mode to enjoy the story

Hey by the way to the crowd who maybe Persona 3 Reload is their very first Persona or maybe your first time experiencing Persona 3 in general, if you really liked it and you want more of these characters, well good news cause there's a canon (somewhat) spin off that's really really good on the 3DS called Persona Q or shortened to just PQ it's a different kind of game it's a drpg; a first person dungeon crawler and the art style is a really cute chibi style, but it's a ton of fun and it's the cast from Persona 3 and 4 and can easily be emulated on any somewhat powerful PC.
VERY fun game with fantastic music and fun moments with the gang and you even get to choose at the beginning if you want to focus more on the Persona 3 or Persona 4 side of things but either way both casts are in it.
Challenging but nothing too bad even if it's your first DRPG. But if you do basically just wanna cruise through it using the kill spells (hama, mudo) and Aigis on your team makes quick work of most encounters.
Hope y'all have fun with it!

That weird promotional P4 flash game
The ones that WILL be considered canon and will be included in the timeline are the following:
Tumblr media
Plus the Persona 2: Eternal Punishment PSP additional scenario.
Final Details
After each part, I will be including a "personal assumptions and headcanons" section. None of the things mentioned in said section are confirmed, in fact, some headcanons will be mentioned. Its purpose is just to enrich the canon already established by the timeline. You'll get it when you see it.
If there is a Social Link/Extra Scene/Additional Dialogue in another game/novel/CD that wasn´t in the list but enriches the story, those details will be included (glances at P3 Portable and Reload). A similar thing happened with PQ, which was almost included because of Chronos. Since everyone's memories were erased anyways, I just took Chronos and left them in their pocket dimension to live their non-canon adventures. Same thing happened with the P1 manga, since it offered extra details and more about Naoya. From Tsumi to Batsu I only took the extended Philemon lore.
Possible Questions
“Why wasn't X media included?”
It depends.
I would have been okay with Tsumi if it didn't overlap with what happens in the main game. Batsu did have some interesting elements, but I couldn't find a gameplay in a language I spoke.
I wanted to include Tsumi ga Ataeshi Batsu so badly, but also couldn't find it online.
I didn't include Vanilla P3 since it needed The Answer to feel truly complete. The same happened with Golden and Royal. Portable was already an AU the moment Minako was included (sorry, queen). Honestly, you can just ignore the extra content from the remastered games or change Minato's name to Minako/Hamuko/Kotone to get the timeline you want (if you want the full FeMC experience, also read Velvet Blue).
At the moment of this timeline's creation, Reload still hasn't launched their own version of The Answer.
Ask me for specifics about other media that wasn't included.
"You forgot X media, which wasn't on either list!"
PLEASE, LET ME KNOW! I know the wiki is incomplete (discovered this when I tried doing an iceberg years ago), and that some media slips through the cracks.
If you can provide a link where I can read/watch/hear it (either English or Spanish is fine), I would be eternally grateful (also if someone can give me a translation of the Naruhodona-SEES section of the Persona Stalker Club pretty please, I would kiss you).
Though if new media was released after March 2024, the year this timeline was made, then that's why it wasn't included.
"Are the timelines already done?"
Nope. They're still in progress, but I wanted to leave some things clear before I published them. If you have any proposals or recommendations, there's still time.
That's all for now. See you next week!
