So, Across the Spiderverse has had me in a chokehold since I watched it. Could you imagine a Yuu in the House Mouse au who is not exactly powerless, but her abilities are not magic-based? Welcome to the crossover that nobody asked for, and I'm gonna pretend that secret identities don't exist for a moment and that disrupting canon events from astv don't exist.

Spider!Yuu's spidey senses can tell when danger is afoot. Whenever she's on the clock, there's fewer accidents and just swings by before Goofy trips and tosses all the dishes. She can tell when either Pete or Mortimer are here.The staff can rely on her for cleaning the high ass ceilings because she can climb up walls with no problem. And her webs make the best Halloween decor.

Von Drake and Jumba being so fascinated with Yuu's anatomy and intelligence. Whether has organic webbing or made web shooters of her own, they want so badly to experiment on them (definitely not gonna try to get bit by a radioactive spider too, nope).

Jamil being torn from freaked out to having a crush on a girl with spider powers. Jafar trying to convince him that she's not an actual spider so that his ship could sail

Yuu making a web hammock to calm down the little kids in the club. Next minute she's having a strength competition with Hercules and Gaston because she can lift up to ten tons.

The clubgoers seeing her memories and freaking over the fact that Yuu has been up against so many dangerous foes and life or death situations such as the iconic train scene. It scares them even more than the overblots do.

The Parr family from the Incredible (if they're here in the au), feel so bad because she's doing vigilante work all on her own. Edna mode upgrades Yuu's spider suit to a new level with glee.

Yuu: No capes please. It's disrespectful to my image.

Okay okay okay first of all I'm going to vent a bit about ATSV because Pavitr my boy, my sunshine, my everything is literally so important to me like hell yeah give me the south asian/brown kid representation (now if only there was an young asian girl with a bob so I can feel better about that Dora the Explorer look my mum forced me to have throught 90% of primary school whilst all of my friends got to grow their own hair out)

Also not going to lie the only reason I'm into ATSV is because I've been a Mayday Parker stan since 2017 - like she is everything (and her backstory is just so sad like PeterMJ didn't deserve that). My favourite spider-people after Peter are his multiversal daughters because girldad Peter is everything (I actually own physical copies of the Renew Your Vows comics that are about Peter and MJ's daughter, Annie-May Parker, and they are so frickin good) but I digress...

I don't know if I want Yuu to have her own Guy in the Chair back in her universe and for Idia to feel jealous/threatened or for her to have no guy in the chair until she comes to twst and Ortho is like 'my time has come'

Ohh imagine the insane parkour skills she, Ruggie and Aladdin would have.

I know that being insanely smart in science is a Peter Parker thing and doesn't really apply to all Spider-People but I think she would be a science whizz (and joining the science club - making Crewel's already glaringly obvious favouritism skyrocket) and hanging out with all of the scientist characters like Prof Von Drake, Jumba, Yzma etc.

Her and Herc would be training buds. He'd see her and her heroics and superhuman friend and be like 'new best friend :D'. Phil loves the heroic potential she has and wants to train her but Pegasus and Megara are like nope and swoop him away.

Oh but imagine the beastfolk finding out about her enhanced senses and how sometimes they cause sensory overload and helping her out because they grew up like that so they know how to manage it better (I once read a fic that said that Savanaclaw showers have soaps with subtler scents to accommodate their enhanced sense of smell and like yes) whilst she's still getting used to it and has to keep it a secret back in her world.

I'm thinking back to all of the MCU!Peter Parker fics I read and all of the spider DNA tropes that tickled my fancy and I can just imagine the twst/HoM cast reacting to things like her having no thermoregulation (and going into hibernation), her purring, her being allergic/having a poison like reaction to peppermint, her having fangs (her being venomous would be cool as well - like imagine Kaa being all fanboying over her fangs and venom glands) etc..

Okay so I remember having a bunch of ideas about this but I can't recall all of them so here... 😅

Derek throws a halloween party and stiles and male reader both show up as spiderman and when they see each other they recreate the 'spiderman pointing at spiderman' meme

It wasn't planned. It was purely accidental. Something that Stiles and Y/N would learn. Derek Hale was having a Halloween party and he invited the McCall pack and Y/N to attend. It was strange to consider that Derek Hale wanted to have a party. He seemed to hate people and wouldn't like a bunch of drunk teenagers in his house. Y/N suspected it had been Peter Hale's idea.

He had gone through different ideas for costumes. Scary? Magical? Historical? All these seemed like a good idea for Y/N to consider, but in the end, he knew what he was going to be. He has actually wanted to dress up like this since he was in the second grade.

On the night of the party, he walked towards the Hale residence and when he arrived; the party was in full swing. A remix of Thriller played over speakers and there were lights and sounds as he saw people his age dressed up in different costumes. He bumped into Peter Hale, who was dressed as a Greek God. Showing off his defining features. Y/N blushed and politely told Peter he looks good in his costume.

Peter smiled at him. "Thanks, sweet heart."

He was glad he wore a mask, because he was blushing. He walked deeper into the party to see Derek Hale dressed like Superman. He actually looked like he could actually play him in a tv show or movie as he continued to look around until he saw a shocking sight. He saw someone dressed as Spiderman. Someone else at this party had stolen his idea. The person, whoever it was, chose to be the Andrew Garfield version of Spiderman. The classic icon of Spiderman. The Bisexual Spiderman. An excellent choice.

Y/N would have been smart enough to pick Tom Holland's Peter Parker, but Y/N had decided to go with Tobey Maguire's Spiderman. A classic and his first Spiderman ever. He walked towards the other Spiderman and he pointed at him. You know, like that popular Spiderman meme of two Spidermen pointing at each other. Y/N hoped the other guy or girl would get the meme hint and not leave him feeling embarrassed in front of everyone.

Luckily, they did. They pointed back to Y/N and people began to laugh and take pictures as they recreated a meme in real life. Y/N chuckled underneath his mask and after they were done, he pulled off his mask. "So, my fellow webhead. Who are you underneath the mask?"

The person pulled off their mask and revealed that it was Stiles underneath it. He smiled. "Cool costume, Y/N. You look hot."

Y/N blushed. "You too, sexy."

Call me cliche but it's Miles Morales!

And this is a comic book question so you get a paragraph of why...buckle up.

When he first came onto the Marvel scene in 2011 I specifically remember how he had a lot of mixed reviews. People try to bury it now, but nah. A lot of people quite frankly didn't like Miles because of his race/heritage and name branding being Spider-Man instead of something like the other variants. (Marvel stans, don't come into my inbox and argue with me about it. You will be blocked.)

But you know who did like Miles Morales? My little brother. He saw the new Spider-Man and latched onto him because they looked alike and he loved superheroes. Miles was someone he could see himself as. I'm the well known comic book reader of the family so he would come to me to find out more about the character. I bought him a collected edition of the comics with Miles and he read every issue. Spider-Man was my brother's birthday party theme. He dressed up as him for Halloween and got multiple action figures for Christmas.

Aside from Peter Parker, I never was well versed in the Spider-Man storylines (I'm more of an X-men gal), but I really like Miles. Partly because of how amazing he stands as his own character (especially in those iconic movies), but mostly because he's my brother's hero. ☺️

If you care

- It feels like the film doesn’t get CPR even though it literally contains a demonstration.

- I missed the first few minutes of Madam Web so having a membership I booked another screening just to learn that they replay the first scene almost verbatim later in the film like it’s a twist or new revelation, like they add a few revelations the audience know most of it and only the character misunderstands and it’s never explained why she misunderstands , why was she in the American foster care system after being born in Peru, with all her mum’s stuff but not even told her mum was murdered. wtf did they tribe do after she was born, dump her with a briefcase.

- Why are the line deliveries and dubbing so weird, especially with any character with a non American accent.

- The film has so much Pepsi sponcon that the villain is literally defeated by a giant Pepsi sign

- Me and my friend now have a joke the Peter Parker in that film will become Peter Pepsi Parker and his superhero identity will be Pepsi man that old mascot. They’re all drinking Pepsi and his shower and the villain threatening his mum at her birth was killed by a Pepsi sign and they only say his name begins with P during the film.

- love that she just runs off to Peru, gets told she can use bilocation, they repeat a scene with only a little extra context and she leaves. Just for her to only use her bilocation once, it helps no one and it leaves her open to an attack from the dude right in front of her who immediately attacks her.

- Why did her acting get so much worse after she went blind, why were her sunglasses so ugly, Madam Web has so many options for iconic round and/or web themed sunglasses.

- I get that the bilocation was to establish how she could be a superhero once in her wheelchair but it’s never useful in the plot.

- Why does her superhero costume look like it’s from a spirit Halloween

- why where her adopted daughters confused that she could see the future enough to predict they ordered kung Po chicken when she literally forsaw their deaths.

- Why does do all of the worst qualities get even worse in the last scene

- I probably missed some stuff because I didn’t know her emt partner was Uncle Ben or that it was 2003 on my first watch. Like I figured out it was the 2000s

I found it the film hilarious but the family member I saw it with said it was the worst film she ever saw so if you’re not a bad movie fan probably skip it. idk if they where trying to recapture the Morbius crowd or something.

The first scene I saw it in was giant and had like 8 people and the screen I saw the fist few minutes was medium and there was 8 people.

Where did the name idea for your most recent oc come from?

My most recent oc was Parker Flanagan so I'm not sure if you're referring to him or not but if you are. . . !

I'm a HUGE Spider-Man / Peter Parker nerd and have been since I was little and consuming Tobey's Spider Man in every shape and form. So I chose the name Parker for him and I did the last name Flanagan in honor of my favorite horror movie director Mike Flanagan since my fic After Dark is heavily inspired by horror icons and movies (hence why Rylee's last name is Prescott from Scream, her mother's maiden name is Myers like from Halloween, her father's name is Shawn which is a homonym to Shaun from Shaun of the Dead, and many more references)

I come late to the Hocus Pocus party, but then so did almost everyone else. It was a critical and commercial flop when it made its debut in theaters in 1993, and only over the years, as Disney marketing shrewdly took advantage of Halloween hype, did it become a small phenomenon. Parents wanting something for kids to watch other than gory horror films during the Halloween season snapped up the videos and Disney rolled it out on TV along with merchandise like dolls and bedspreads. And now, almost 30 years later, comes a sequel. Disney never butters its bread thinly. You can also thank (or blame, as your inclination may be) the gay community, since the film features two actresses, Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker, who have become iconic for many gays. I finally succumbed to the hype last night and sat through the movie that Gene Siskel called “dreadful” and Roger Ebert squished under his thumb. It's not as awful as that. Midler, Parker, and Kathy Najimy, the trio of witches, seem to be having fun behaving like drag queens, there's some wit in making the teenage hero (Omri Katz) the “virgin” who lights the candle with the black flame, and the precocious Thora Birch makes the ideal spunky kid sister. It's too noisy and too frantic, but we do get to hear Midler's version of the Screamin’ Jay Hawkins classic “I Put a Spell on You.” Still, I think I'll wait another 30 years before watching Hocus Pocus 2 (Anne Fletcher, 2022).
