I know there are other space based heroes but these were the ones I could think of, I just like the idea of Bucky having a bunch of friends and being a giant nerd with them 🥺🥹

America isn't the only canon lesbian in Marvel. Karolina Dean is a lesbian, Angela (Thor's oldest sister in the comics) is a lesbian and her girlfriend Sera is a trans lesbian. Alana Jobson is also a lesbian. Karma is a lesbian. Phylla-Vell is a lesbian. The Leah of Earth 15513 isn't confirmed to be a lesbian, but her only canon relationship is sapphic, so I've always seen her as a lesbian.

Sure, there aren't a lot of lesbians, and Marvel could certainly do better with its lesbian representation, but they do exist, and I personally think they're important.

I will say that most of these characters only exist in the comics, so if you only watch the movies/shows, then you'll really only see America and Karolina (You can find Karolina on the TV show Runaways).

I didn’t mean the few lesbians that exist aren’t important, my post was mainly a vent post about how the few lesbians in both universes (Marvel and DC) are not really known and are not really “important” to media, you know? America has just began having her deserved representation, but the other ones are not as big in the universe (and I’m talking about MCU).

To clarify: I’m not saying they’re not important characters, I’m saying they’re not treated as important in media. I can’t really speak about America because she has just joined the MCU, but Karolina is part of a less known tv show, not a big franchise or a majorly known show like other Marvel media.

But tbh I have more issues when it comes to lesbian rep about DC than Marvel.

I’m assuming you mean what changes I’m making.

And I’ll be honestly … I don’t know yet.

I’m focusing mostly on phases 1 and 4/5 right now, so certain films between them I’m kind of not touching.

The GOTG trilogy is probably my favourite in the MCU and so I’m hesitant to touch it at all. Like I know there are a few minor cosmetic changes I want to make, that I’ll change possibly how characters like Phylla-Vell and stuff are handled in those films, the little minor ones that don’t have so much relevance that changing them up changes the films entirely. But nothing large that’ll make my rewrite seem entirely different from the source material

Obviously, they will not be safe from my coping habits, they will be written and posted on ao3, in my own image, but until I’ve rewatched the films a hundred more times and gotten myself painfully familiarised with their comics, I am way too nervous to lay a finger on them.

i'm essentially looking to write Guardians of the Galaxy VOL. 4 of the mcu together! i have oc's i developed in middle school that i feel could introduce an interesting story playing off of the experiment lore shown in VOL.3 and would love the chance to write it out together! at the end of the ad, i'll include the story / beginning point in mind; i am always open to plotting out new things and expanding on the story and universe together, even to the extent of making it entirely our own!

i'll be writing a total of ten oc's, all mutants / experiments, with one as the main / primary focus. i'm looking to write mostly against the mcu's portrayal of adam warlock, as well as the other guardians! i can write for gamora, nebula, cosmo, and phylla vell myself to help balance out the written roles if preferred!

Okay so explanation: This character is called "Phylla Vell" (might have put too many L's in there, I'm doing this from memory and I read the series in like 2019) She's the daughter of Mar Vell the original Captain Marvel (who kinda sucked). See originally Captain Marvel was a dude, and he dies of Cancer. Monica Rambeu was Captain Marvel/Ms Marvel for a while, and they tried to make her Captain Marvel, then they made her Quasar and then Wendyll Vauhn the OG Quasar came back and then she went on her shadow the hedgehog arc as "Martyr". This version of her was in Dan Abnett's run on Guardians of the Galaxy which is probably Top in my top 5 versions of the Guardians. They sort of brought her back as another verson of Captain Marvel in the like 2020 Guardians of the Galaxy run. I'm fudging up the specifics here, but the important take away is she was one of my favorite characters and she's kind of obscure. I wanted a Marvel Legends figure of her for so long. I'd love to see her in a mainstream MCU movie. She's up there with Beta Ray bill as one of my favorites. She is also, canonically one of the earliest Lesbian characters in Marvel Comics, her girlfriend is Moon Dragon. So she's just kinda cool all around, but also like INCREDIBLY obscure so It's just fucking wild they put her in. Also: reading that her ability is to LOSE you the game, is amazing because as much as I love her: she's kind of a crap character lol. That's kind of fitting for her.

5) Ooh, maybe Rick Jones to connect Captain Marvel to Hulk. I mean, he can’t have his Nega Band bond with Mar-Vell, but maybe they could do something with Genis-Vell and am I the single biggest nerd on the planet?

Mcu stans will be like "we need lgbt heroes in the mcu!" and only name billy and teddy as an example. And they're ignoring northstar, rictor, shatterstar, angela, raz malhorta, america chavez, daken, phylla-vel, and so many other characters i can't remember rn. It's like they only care about white skinny men as lgbt representation and/or they've only read young avengers and consider that's it for all the lgbt characters in marvel

Phyla & Heather get introduced in GOTG Vol3. They do not share a single scene together. There is at least one homophobic joke.

there’s so many theories about the next avengers movie being 5 years or something down the line, and what the state of our characters will be (Tony head of shield, captain america a hero again) and that’s good and fun, but I like to think about the other half of the “five years later” theory, what ROCKET is up to. The last guardian, he def is not hanging on earth. I think this might be a perfect time to introduce a bunch of new guardian characters, and make the team more similar to the Abnett run, something more military esc rather than space pirate that the MCU guardians currently are. If it’s been 5 years, literally give Rocket  team with Phylla-Vell, Moon Dragon, throw in Vance Astro even that could be fun. Angela maybe? Lots of options. Could be super fun.
