Pistachio and Ripple's Summer Adventure - Sea Slug, Part 1

I'm so pleased with how the sea effect turned out in this one!

I've also decided to name these characters. The Chikorita is called Pistachio and the Goodra is Ripple.

Malted Milk Fudge Ripple - A young woman who's into fitness. She's more extroverted and warm, compared to her best friend, Pistachio. She'll assure someone that Chio has no malicious intention, no matter how he comes off to people.

Pistachio - A book worm. He often comes off as cold, but is deep down a nervous wreck and cares about the people closest to him. He's also Malt's best friend.

Blue Moon - A skater girl and also a huge stoner. She's very laid back, even if she made someone mad. She might also have some magical abilities.

S'mores - A park ranger. He takes his job seriously, but has gotten tired of certain people who call for help when it's not needed or it's just entitlement from the person calling for help. He also loves nature and camping, and is determined to protect all wildlife he can.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough - A friendly college student, who is currently still trying to figure out exactly what career she wants. She works at a music store, and lives with her older brother, Chip.

Java Chip - A journalist. He needs his coffee to self-regulate everyday, and also worries about any possible danger happening in the future. He wants to make things as safe and opportunistic as possible for his younger sister, Cookie, who's just going into college.

Comments: Okay, now the RNG is just teasing me (or possibly being mean). Hatch out three clutches of tree dragons in a row, the first of which is from the 3rd generation of my naturally occurring primal eyes line, which I've mostly been putting back on the nest as soon as she turns RTB again, trying to get my 4th generation. RNG declines to do so, yet again, and then gives the next two clutches both a primal-eyed hatchling. Gee, thanks, RNG *through gritted teeth*.

Though, yes, I am of course still delighted to have a second primal-eyed tree dragon in two days, because wow, such a low chance of it! Just really, really wishing one of them had been on the right clutch, dammit. *Sighs and forgives RNG*

I'm doing that thing again where a random scenario is showing up in my modern AU fic and I have to think of everyone's preferences so: BG3 companions, ice cream edition.

Wyll: The only man alive who gets an ice cream cone and somehow never drips. He loves a good quality vanilla, but likes it with additions, like a handmade fudge ripple or butter pecan. Will eat an ice cream cone with a spoon, confusing everyone.

Karlach: She wants to go to the place where they mix in shit in front of you. Gummy bears and pretzels. Red hots candy and caramel corn. She's inventing flavor combos you've never heard of. Also likes the blue bubblegum ice cream.

Gale: Ooh! Well, since you're asking, he knows a wonderful place a scant thirty minute drive away that makes their own handmade ice cream. He's been known to indulge in a pint or two...perhaps with a nice glass of wine! Toppings? Well, that would ruin the experience.

Shadowheart: She goes to the same place as Gale, but she hoards her pints in her freezer and you're not allowed to touch them. They have a dark chocolate raspberry she's obsessed with. It's hers, though. You can have a bite. Just one. Fine, you can have another bite.

Lae'zel: She goes to the fast food drive through, orders a chocolate sundae, and leaves. If their ice cream machine is broken again, they will pay the price. Will climb through a drive-through window to fight your manager.

Astarion: Goes to the trendy, insanely expensive restaurant, orders the thousand dollar gold leaf covered, smoked white truffle and whisky ice cream dessert, takes a picture of it for his instagram, and leaves without paying by climbing out the bathroom window.

Minthara: She will take two scoops of chocolate ice cream. Nothing more, nothing less. If you fail to deliver exactly what was ordered, she will have your business destroyed on Yelp. Her prowess on Yelp is legendary. Sometimes Astarion helps her make video reviews of restaurants. She has millions of views, adoring fans, and has no idea.

Halsin: He'd prefer something else for dessert, but he's already here, so...maybe a scoop of pistachio on a cone? Will get distracted and end up with it dripping all over his arm. Whoops! Now everyone's staring at him while he licks his own hand.

Jaheira: She prefers a pastry, but fine. She'll let you know once she's tried every sample at least once. Hmm. Not bad. And...you know what? Never mind. She's full now. Thanks for the samples.

He’s about to go camp out at the library when a ripple moves through the mess.

It always happens like this, and part of Leonard always loves it, always feels a strong surge of pride.

Spock thinks they look because he’s different. Spock’s hung up on a lifetime of insecurities and bullshit built up by his father. Yet as the voices settle across the tables and the eyes move to focus on the tall Vulcan gliding through the space in that close-fitting, black uniform, Leonard can’t help the grin that slices across his face. 

He knows their attention has everything to do with the mystery of Spock, but that none of that attention happens to be negative.

“Doctor McCoy.” Spock stands above him, hands held fast behind his back, looking for all the world like he’s there to talk to Leonard about some paper. 

But Leonard knows there’s a splash of pistachio right under Spock’s collar, a stain in the shape of Leonard’s mouth. He’d heard the soft whimper Spock made as Leonard left it there. He’d seen it as Spock’s fingers fluttered to the imperfection in the morning, and the choice in his eyes when he’d decided to leave it be.

So, don't know if you remember that anon that read your fic without being in any fandom (GOT and Solo Leveling)

I'm, of course, a Sung Jinwoo kinnie, his simp, he's my babygirl and I love him, so of course I read it even if I don't like GOT (too much dead, and I always choose the ones fated to die, one season was enough to understand that I was better far away from them)

But I have to admit that half of the time I'm lost with Jinwoo.

What I'm saying, is that those people are unnecessary complicated

Of course Jinwoo is lost, I'm lost half of the time, and I know what is happening so yeah

Jinwoo isn't just a himbo (he is, but that's not the problem here) that doesn't understand the situation, it's just we need a lot of knowledge to understand how they say hello

But hey, he gets to eat all the guilt free almonds. He still remembers when almonds were affordable and everywhere. Now though? Almonds are starting to be easy to buy again but it's still so expensive - but not as expensive as it was 10 years ago. Thank goodness for Westeros still growing all the fancy nuts.

Unlike block halvah, which comes in an ever-increasing array of flavors (my favorite spot in Tel Aviv’s Levinsky Market has an irresistible Lotus cookie halvah, though New York-based Seed + Mill’s sea salt dark chocolate halvah is a serious contender ), shredded halvah sticks to the classics; it’s usually plain, though occasionally chocolate or pistachio flavored.

So how do you use halvah fluff? (Aside from eating it straight from the tub.)

Swirl the shredded strands into your ice cream base before freezing for a sesame ripple effect.

And/or bundle it on top of an ice cream sundae or milkshake. Add a drizzle of silan (date syrup) and a sprinkling of chopped pistachios for the ultimate indulgence.

Substitute it for marshmallows in ‘smores.

When recipes call for crumbled halvah, substitute the shredded variety. It’s much easier to work with, and less of a mess. I love to twist it into babkas.

Or use it for visual effect, as you would cotton candy, like wrapped around a layer cake for a Great British Baking Show showstopper challenge appeal, or swirled on top of cupcakes.

going around and asking random blogs i follow this question bc i'm bored and hungry: what do you think severus's favorite ice cream flavor would be?

I've thought long and hard about this... my first instinct was a pretentious flavour like pistachio but the thing is I think when it comes to food I think Sev is not pretentious at all. Bro would happily eat chips for every meal, I think he's more about sustenance than quality-- obviously what he was given at home was probably quite humble and he was likely underfed, so I think ANY opportunity for greasy, filling, delicious junk from the chippy's (paid for by lily ofc) would have been a real treat, as well as when he ate at the evanses'.

At the time there definitely wasn't the same access to the variety of ice cream flavours you can see today; it was often just vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate, unless you're getting into ice lolly territory. I think he'd like raspberry ripple, which was popular during the 70s and is basically vanilla with raspberry syrup. He might have had that occasionally at the Evans house and thought it was the best thing ever.

As for what he'd buy from an ice cream van, maybe the classic Fab Lolly! Though honestly I think he'd be happy with anything decadent and tooth-rottingly sweet lol. Here's an article I found about ice creams and lollies that were popular during that time.
