Jaskier had never in his life seen a more beautiful sight. The Adonis of a man in front of him was just… ugh. He was tall and built and his hair was the most stunning shade of white. He was wearing a black, long sleeve shirt, pushed up revealing his forearms. Jaskier followed their path to watch the man’s hands as he expertly poured the drinks he was making.

Jaskier was in love with his bartender.

He leaned over to Triss, “Thank you for dragging me to this bar even though I very much didn’t want to go out tonight. The idea that I could have missed out on this sight is appalling.”

Triss laughed loudly, “You fall in love with someone everywhere we go, don’t you?”

“Yes, I do. But I’ve never experienced what I’m experiencing right now. I am weak for that man. Just look at him. I want to lick him.” Jaskier was staring unabashedly at the bartender and he leaned over the bar talking to another patron.

Triss laughed again, “Well, wave him over. Get his number.”

Jaskier smiled brightly, “I will!” and waved dramatically to get the man’s attention.

The beautiful man walked over, “What can I get you?” he asked in the sexiest growl Jaskier had ever has the pleasure to here.

Jaskier was going to be smooth, going to flirt his way right in this man’s pants, “You come here often?”

You come here often? That’s not at all what he’d intended to say when he’d opened his mouth.

The man stared at him, clearly unimpressed, “Well, I work here, so I’m going to have to say yes.”

“Right… uhhh… gin and tonic, please.” Jaskier stuttered out, mortified.

The man nodded and moved away to start on the drink.

Jaskier spun around to look at Triss who was shaking with silent laughter, “How dare you just let me say something stupid like that!”

“Me?” Triss asked, laughing at Jaskier’s misfortune, “What on Earth was that? Do you come here often? Honestly, Jaskier, you’re a disaster!”

Jaskier groaned loudly just as someone cleared their throat behind him. He turned slowly to see the bartender back.

The bartender slid his drink across the bar and handed Jaskier a napkin, “You were supposed to say, ‘You could get me your number’.”

Jaskier stood there flabbergasted, mouth open as the bartender was waved to the other side of the bar. He looked down at the napkin in his hand.

Geralt.

He’d left Jaskier his number.

FanFic Reclist September 2021

Super late but I at least have a couple more suggestions than last time! Still a short list, but not that short. Let's just get to it!

Star Wars Prequels

-The 212th Attack Battalion's Guide to Staging Rescues by antigrav_vector, Quarra Dooku/Sifo-Dyas (background Cody/Obi-Wan) - 555.627 words - Rating M - Time Travel, H/C, De-Aged Character, Mandalorian culture (CW: discussion of medical procedures, suicidal ideation, emotional trauma, slavery.)

For months now I have been obsessed with this idea that in an alternate universe Dooku and Obi-Wan would enjoy each other's company very much and lo and behold, this fic has exactly that: the two of them enjoying a cup of tea and being their sassy elegant self. It is wonderfully written, there's no doubt in that. But as you can see it's basically the length of the entire Lords of the Rings series. Which also means I'm actually not even halfway reading it (especially with how my brain has been struggling lately with the concept of staying focused on things). I can't then give an opinion on the entire plot, especially since I think I'm just about to get to the good stuff plot wise. BUT I absolutely adore the character development I've seen so far and I can't wait to read more (finger crossed that my brain behaves).

-Obikin Fairytale Tropes by tennessoui (@tennessoui) Obi-Wan/Anakin - 8.562 words (at the moment) - Rating T, M - Fluff, Humor, Fairytale elements

I could have actually mentioned any other fic from this author in particular because I've read all of the completed fics on her AO3 profile and most of her posts here on Tumblr about both finished fics and WIPs. Usually I don't read WIP (my memory is just too bad for me to remember stuff between updates, especially in the last couple of months), but if you don't this problem, absolutely read all of her WIPs too. It's well worth the wait for each update. She just has this way when it comes to Anakin and Obi-Wan... They manage to stay themselves despite how she changes slightly their dynamics to fit each of her AUs. It just captivates me so much how she can come up with so many good ideas too! As for this series in particular, it made me laugh so much! That perfect balance between fluff and humor (and the tiniest splash of angst). Perfection. A must read for sure if you are in desperate need of a good laugh.

Detroit: Become Human

-Fata Morgana by idiopathology (@16ruedelaverrerie) RK900/Gavin Reed - 64.6420 words - Rating E - Enemies to Friends to Lovers, Both Androids, Cam boy Gavin, Case fic (sorta)

Absolutely adored this fic. Gavin is such a mess, with all of the issues coming from what his life used to be. Yet somehow he still manages to teach something about life to Nines, which seems to have his life already figured out (but does he really? Is he less of a mess than Gavin?). Also, this made me crave more cam boy Gavin fics.

Critical Role

-Nice to Meet You by PixiePosts Fjord/Caleb - 5.144 words - Rating T - Temporary Memory Loss, Fluff, Getting Together

Something short and sweet but absolutely lovely. Confused Fjord is such a mood! And I loved the way Caleb was pushing him back because he didn't want to ruin things with Fjord when his memory came back (while still calling him sweet names! AWW! Sappy Caleb is best Caleb). It's absolutely a must read.

It always kills me when I see a personal post asking for a friend or relationship and then the user says "taken" on the by line.....don't they get enough attention from their partner ?  Do they give the same attention to their partner ?..If so, why do they troll for more relationships ?  I'd be happy with just one good one, that's all you really need, especially online.

crimson: I kind of feel like if I could only pick one then I wouldn’t have anything on my wall because one would just feel like a taunt? But also, a beautiful scenic view of somewhere far away is always nice.

carmine: I think I’m more productive if I keep a schedule but I’m a Disaster and Cannot Do That because it’s too much pressure. I instead try to give myself (vague) deadlines like... this many things done by this time/day, which keeps me from failing classes and makes sure I’m a productive adult (kind of), but doesn’t overwhelm me.
