Saw the most fucking morally bankrupt oil and gas ad on TV during the Macy’s parade today

A woman goes into labor – because of course they have to tug on the heartstrings – and she and her husband rushed to the hospital. Only to find the whole room is empty! Oh no! A magical nurse appears and says something about how this is what the hospital would look like with no oil and gas. But then – hey presto! Equipment and chairs and signage start appearing again! This is all the stuff in our world it’s made possible by oil and gas, so clearly we still need that!

Notice how they neglect to mention why we make everything out of oil nowadays, or why that’s apparently so great. When, you know. Our reliance on plastic is actually terrible for environment and potentially our health, and it really doesn’t need to be used to make things except for a few very specific purposes (single – use medical equipment, etc.).

Genuinely hope everyone involved in that one steps on a tack

A Mini Poll with those submitted for our Summer of Superheroes Tournament who just didn't meet the Disney requirement.

Plastic Man was submitted as both versions. The picture for Glory Girl was taken from the wiki and credited to Zearoe via Reddit.

And yes, Deadpool and Wolverine now have a Disney Marvel movie, they were submitted under the previous studio. Indication (before the movie was released) was there was a fine line between the previous movies and the new one(s) as Disney property.

Ok so like rant about the new plas comic, Plastic man NO MORE. Warning for Spoilers ( duh)

First of all THE ART HERE IS SOOOOO GOOD and the colors go so well with it. Alex Lins, Jacob Edgar and Marcelo Maiolo all did a phenomenal job I could talk for hours about how much I love how everything looks

Second, WOOZY BACKKK BABYYYYY

Not a fan of “ Woozy was Eel partner in crime” because to me it undermines the fact Plastic man and him became friends AFTER Plas reformed and became a better man that decided to change his ways and help others thanks to being shown genuine kindness and care from the monks ( who are also not here nor mentions which ) but I do find how their dynamic is written here to be interesting & the fact it’s teased Woozy is going to help him out in later issues is something I can’t wait to see play out

( and that’s folks how Plaswoozy yaoi can still win)

But while we on the topic of showing Plas kindness and care towards plas, guess who hasn’t like always

The JLA just doesn’t care at all that their colleague just got shot with a DEATH LASER and looks visible affected by it ??? Patrick is literally showing signs of being ill/slowing melting away and they all just ignore him or laugh at him ?????

Don’t get me started on when Plas as ( rightfully) mad at them and describing things he didn’t like about them he just goes “ Oh well he cool” when it came to Batman when Batman is objectively the one JLA member to have done Plas dirty multiple times in the past AND in the present?? ( hate how much DC glazes this man so much bro 😭)

The only to gaf was Detective Chimp ( I guess the haha funny guys got to stick together huh? )

Another very important thing is Plas and is relationship with his family

Oh Angel and Luke, whereeeeee do I start

Im not and will never be a fan of “ Plas is a deathbeat dad” plotline because 1 it’s just very ooc for Plas 2 it’s only ever been use to cause ship drama and 3 DC has been refusing to gives us any characterization or development to Luke or Angel for so long it’s feels disingenuous

This time around however seems different

It’s seems this time around they might actually gives us more of it and that’s what I’m hopeful for

First I think the first thing that Plas finds out about how bad his condition is to call Luke and tell him it’s better he gets himself checked is a very sweet move, we also see an inclination for more future things between Luke and his mother ( I always wanted to see how their actual mother-son bound was like and with Luke reaction + some things we can gather from the flashbacks we of Plas when he and Angel were still together it seems to me we getting it in some way )

Also Luke looking exactly like old Eel???? I always headcanon that and I’m so glad for it I think it’s opens the door for some many interesting things

Overall I liked it, I definitely think it’s better than the Valentine Special for sure , and even if some writing choices gave me mixed feelings I’m excited for more and can’t wait to see what the writers have planned for the next 3 issues

Heart really likes to chew on rubbery things (ex: pencil grips) and has a strong bite, Mind really likes to chew on soft fluffy things (ex: sweater) and has a soft bite, and Soul really likes to chew on hard crunchy things (ex: plastic) and has a medium bite

Almost there, my version on the Queen Elizabeth Warhammer 40k model by Midwinter Minis.

I present, Queen Victoria's Golden Throne of Praetoria. Changed a bit before 3D printing by the good people at Kraken Gaming Llanelli.

I added some extras to make her more Imperial. Then sorted her base.

The Warhammer 40k Queen Elizabeth model, dubbed Lillibet, Potentate of Holy Terra, was created through a collaboration between Warhammer and miniature painting Youtuber Midwinter Minis, and 40k artist Little Plastic People (aka Steve). The mini is a cyborg version of Her Majesty ready for war, her torso fixed to a golden hover-throne that bristles with weapons. The pair unveiled Lillibet, and released free 3D printer files for the model, designed by Steve, on Friday, one day into the ‘Platy Jubes’ celebrations.

okay, I’ll bite: what are we supposed to make shoes out of?

I don’t want to wear plastic clothing. period. if it’s at all possible to avoid. call me crazy, but I don’t consider destroying habitats on a massive scale via microplastic runoff in water and non-biodegradable plastic waste in landfills “more humane,” to animals OR people. I recognize that a lot of people don’t have the luxury of that choice, because synthetics are often cheaper, and I would never judge those individuals for it. but fortunately, I do, and that’s the choice I’ve made

so that leaves the natural materials that are currently commercially viable. leather and fur are out, and by strict v*gan definitions, so are wool and silk. plant-based fibers it is, then!

I live in Massachusetts, USA. let me just lace up my canvas sneakers to go out in the next February blizzard

and I’m sure people who work dangerous jobs like construction will love the sturdy protection of hemp slip-ons

be v*gan if you want to (censoring to avoid tags); I get that it’s usually coming from a place of compassion even if I don’t agree on the execution. but for gods’ sakes, don’t be this out-of-touch. just like I know that not everyone will agree with my personal decisions on how to live the most ethical life I feel I can, please respect that other people’s realities may look different from yours

Went to the Warhammer store for the first time on Sat, hopefully to get a free Terminator. Unfortunately we did not, by like 4 very small children 🙃 anyway, the SINGLE dude who runs the entire store was just an incredible guy and he made sure we left with something

Aaaaaanyway ere's my first ever Warhammer model and i guess the second mini I've ever painted at all. Thank god, I'm happy with it :3
