Thanks for your time and reblogs would be greatly appreciate. It’s hard to get attention on tumblr and the FE tags get flooded often and my post might not get noticed! ><

For the FE ask game, what about 10, 14, 20 and 28?
okay wow this got stupid long but!!!!!!
10) A character you find underrated?
there are LOTS of characters i feel dont get enough attention so im just gonna list a few ghfdgh:
- edain (shes so nice and shes the turbomom and she gets NO attention in return)
- oifey (hes so good im sorry hes not as sexy as shannan)
- igrene (im fake and havent played fe6 but shes got such a good sad story and ppl only seem to care abt her for Boob and its sad)
- tauroneo (lowkey incredibly interesting. what if duessel was a pathetic divorced piece of shit dad)
- muarim (THE FANDOM SLEEPS ON HIM SO HARD. I ADORE THIS MAN LIKE LITERALLY EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM. his battle convos in por where hes actually fucking horrified abt mist and rolf being deployed. get em)
- rhys ([137594765 pages of in-depth character analysis] hes gay and sad lol)
- rolf (When I Write My Rolf Essay. Then You Will See)
- laurent (this goes for all the awakening kids but i like seeing how their traits + differences from their parents are related to the situation theyve been growing up in and i think laurents more concerned responsible approach to the Miriel Stuff rlly reflects that. also desert angst has had me fucked up since middle school and i think he deserves more attention).
also all the goldoans but u couldve guessed that already!
14) Something you really don't like about this series?
pretty consistently piss-poor treatment of major female characters as like... setpieces for manpain is. pretty bad tbh. like?? characters like deirdre and ninian and emmeryn and rinea and celica (in sov especially) deserve SO much more autonomy and attention outside of how sad some blue haired guy was abt them dying. obv some are better than others but ive rlly got my fingers crossed for fe4 remake that gives deirdre more,,,, just More. she needs development. ALSO [SHAKES KUSAKIHARA] MAKE YOUR FEMALE COSTUME DESIGNS NOT GROSS CHALLENGE. NOBODY SHOULD RIDE A HORSE WITH THEIR ASS HANGING OUT
20) Least favorite (canon) pairing?
WOW okay there are..... definitely a lot of ships i Do not like. i think a lot of the possible ships in some games are just plain BAD like. nobody should be dating nowi or donnel or dew or anyone who is very clearly like. a kid? ADDITIONALLY student x faculty member in 3h will always feel Bad to me. but in terms of like.... ones that are canon/pseudo-canon?? a lot of them are kinda boring + not my fav, like chrom/sumia or alm/celica or lewyn/erinys but like. the only game that has outright Rancid canonesque ships is rd imo. micaiah/sothe and jill/haar are actually viscerally awful. boyd/mist is Not that bad but it still feels,,, iffy. i did actually make a tellius ship tiermaker so if anyones curious i can do it and post it???
28) Because this fandom doesn't see enough discourse [citation needed], post a spicy hot take here🔥🔥
ik lots of ppl feel this way but the intensification of focus on the avatar characters in fe games is such a HUGE detriment to depth of story and character development. theres such a need to please and appease the player via the avatars interactions and influence over other characters and it feels so cheap and unrealistic. why would u being a good teacher make ashe want to stay loyal to the institution that killed his brother and dad, for instance?? it wouldnt but itd be inconvenient if for the player if he decided to switch sides. remember in por when shinon and gatrie left bc they decided they just Did Not Fucking Like the thought of working under ike. that was good. that was great. the goal of character writing is to make characters feel like people with motivations and ideals and the way fe games are more and more revolving around You is taking away from it imo

Chapter 15 - Wind God Forseti
The entire text is under the cut for spoilers.
The war was over.
However, the storms of conflict had ravaged Jugdral twice in just twenty years, leaving huge scars across the continent. Reconstruction would probably take many times the amount of power needed to win the war.
Those who fought alongside Seliph, as well as those who now needed to bear the burden of reconstruction, said their goodbyes, and parted ways.
-
Shannan, who was next in line to become king, returned home.
By his side was the future queen, Patty. As the Sword Saint, Shannan was nearly always scowling, but that front cracked whenever he was talking to her. Even before the final battle, he was shy when he accepted the lunch she packed for him. The two will undoubtedly become a good husband and wife to each other.
-
Leif inherited the title of King of Leonster, but at the same time, many wished he would also take on the role of unifying the Thracian peninsula.
Those who went with him to Leonster were Finn, the knight who'd vowed to protect him ever since he was orphaned until the very end, and Nanna.
Nanna was in love with him, but because she was from Augustria, she'd told herself that she must part with her beloved when the war was over. However, when the time finally came, Leif took her hands in his, and passionately shared his desires for her to come with him. They too decided to marry one day.
Though Altena was of the Leonsterian Royal Family's bloodline, she returned to southern Thracia, where her memories of her beloved remained. There, it was decided that she would work with Leif to unite the peninsula.
-
Ares, together with the dancer Lene and his cousin Diarmuid, decided to go to Augustria, where the battle between the imperial army and the local liberation army still raged on. Ending that war and unifying Augustria was the next duty bestowed upon him.
After he married Lene, he mellowed out. So long as they have the aid of the calm and collected Diarmuid, they will likely be able to carry out even the most difficult of their duties.
-
After the kingdom fell in Verdane, it had been taken over by bandits. The bow knight Lester traveled to those remote lands to establish a new government. By his side was the falcoknight Fee.
-
The six dutchies of Grannvale were inherited by their next in line.
The tactician and paladin Oifey succeeded Chalphy,
The wielder of Holy Bow Yewfelle, Febail, succeded Jungby,
The axe knight Iuchar succeeded Dozel,
The mage knight Arthur succeeded Velthomer,
High Priest Coirpre succeeded Edda,
And the thunder mage Tinny succeeded Friege.
(Iuchar's beloved, Larcei, went with him as his perfect match; and it went without saying that Coirpre was accompanied by his adoptive father, Hannibal.)
And, of course, Belhalla was succeeded by Seliph, and he was crowned King of Grannvale at the same time. Lana, who'd fought alongside him from the very beginning, became his queen.
The inheritors of the duchies, and even the inheritors of the surrounding countries, all walked up to the new king, raised their swords, and swore their loyalty to him before leaving Belhalla. From that day forward, the Jugdralian continent would change from a land of power and fear, to one connected by a new bond of trust.
-
The last person they said goodbye to was wind mage Ced.
"Seliph, I will return home to Silesse with Father. Thank you for everything."
"Yeah, you helped us out a lot! We'll never forget you!” Then, he turned to Lewyn. “And Lewyn, I don't know how I could ever thank you…"
"There's no need to, Seliph. Everything we accomplished was because of all your hard work."
"Now, Father, let’s…"
"No, Ced. I will not go to Silesse. You are the only one who can rule Silesse."
His father's unexpected words pushed Ced to put pressure on him to change his mind. "But why, Father!? The war is over. Please return home with me."
"No, I have played my part. Just like the other countries, Silesse must also be reborn. For that to happen, she needs a power of youth like yours."
"I don't understand. Silesse needs you, Father! Please, please, come back home."
"You've said more than enough. I don't want you to speak another word. Fee realized everything from the very beginning. You should have already as well. Isn't that right, Ced?"
"Father!"
"I won't say anything more. Now go! Silesse is counting on you!"
Ced bit his lip and stared at his father for a long while.
But when he realized that Lewyn's resolve was firm, he turned towards Seliph and bowed his head. "Then this means goodbye, Lord Seliph. Good luck. You too, Lady Lana… and you as well, Father…" With that said, Ced bowed his head deeply, then left.
"Seliph, Lana, though it pains me to leave, I am going to go on a journey."
"Where will you be going?" Lana asked.
"A bard has no set destination. I will travel wherever the wind may take me."
"Lewyn, thank you so much. You watched over me and guided me when I knew nothing. I am so grateful to you from the very bottom of my heart."
"I was merely fulfilling my duty. Silesse's royal family is one of wind mages. Wherever I am, I am there simply because the wind took me there. And you humbly took that wind in."
"I know that, Lewyn. And I also know that your true identity… is not really Lewyn."
"..."
"The Lewyn my father fought with really did die during the Battle of Belhalla. Some of the female soldiers survived, but all of the men died during that battle. So I wondered, then, why you are the only one they failed to find.
"You are actually one of the dragon tribes, most likely the god who made the pact with Crusader Ced at Darna Castle, and granted him the powers of wind magic. You knew that the path leading to Loptous' revival was opened at the Battle of Belhalla, and took Lewyn's form to try to stop it."
Lewyn did not deny Seliph's words, nor did he affirm them.
"I've heard that the dragon tribes fear participating in the human world. But you went so far as to break that rule to guide us. So long as this land exists, we will never forget all you've done for us. Lewyn… no… Forseti of the wind, and warrior of a distant land."
Lewyn raised an eyebrow and smirked. Then, he bowed in a manner fitting of a bard, and tried to leave the room.
"Wait, Lewyn!"
When Lewyn turned around, it was only just a little bit, but he looked uncomfortable.
"I want you to tell me one thing, Lewyn. Did you know that Arvis had given Julia the circlet? And were you trying to tell us that Manfroy hadn't killed Julia?"
The bard paused for a minute, then said, "No, there was no way that I could have known. I knew what the darkness' goal was, but none of the intricate details. All I knew was that even they had a weakness."
"And that weakness was?"
"That they do not sympathize with the human heart. And that you would have become proud of your own power."
"..."
"That if we did our best, then one day, that weakness would be revealed. I only believed in that. You did not win with power. You won because you are considerate and humble. That is why everyone stayed with you until the very end, despite how harsh the battles were. That will also be important for your future rule. You two should remember that."
The bard said, then waved his right hand to say goodbye. His gesture also conjured up a light breeze.
“One more thing, Lewyn! The bard in Peruluke, was he a dragon? Or…"
But the bard had already begun to fade away, little by little. He disappeared without giving an answer.

The Thracian Peninsula was unified.
The region, made up of many small countries and plagued by perpetual war, finally welcomed peace with the restoration of the Leonsterian Royal Family’s power and the death of the Kingdom of Thracia.
The first king of this new country was Leif, chosen by the people and their passionate hopes for him.
Leif entrusted Altena with the reconstruction of the territory that previously belonged to the Kingdom of Thracia.
Altena never left Thracia ever again. For the rest of her days, she protected the land she was raised in, as well as her memories of Arion, with a love so strong it would last her entire life.
-
The Kingdom of Isaach had been the first nation to be freed from the empire's oppression, but the inheritor to the throne was not there at the time, so the peoples' days were filled with uncertainty.
Because of that, they welcomed Shannan's return home. Once he was crowned, he worked tirelessly to rebuild his country, and proceeded to implement trade with the other nations. Isaach was previously called the barbarian land of the east, but the latter half of his rule achieved unprecedented development, and Isaach transformed into a rich land that rivaled the other countries.
-
After the civil war ended in Augustria and the country was annexed by Grannvale, it had been put under a strict, tyrannical rule.
Because of that, all of the people had wished for their own liberation army and the establishment of a new, unified country, and those wishes were directed towards the hero Eldigan and the Nordion Royal Family. They were wildly excited to welcome Ares home, because he reminded them of Eldigan in his youth.
Under Ares' rule, Augustria's reconstruction progressed quickly. After that was done, the country continued to develop as Grannvale's greatest ally.
-
Because Verdane was a remote country, the empire did not meddle into their affairs very much. However, after the death of their king, each tribe had gotten into disputes time and time again, public order was in distress, and thieves went around looting as if they owned the place.
Amidst all of that, Lester's homecoming, as one of the hero Prince Jamke's bloodline, gave the people courage, and many young people gathered around him. The war to unify Verdane ended in less than a year, and Lester was crowned king. He earned the cooperation of both Grannvale and Augustria, restored the lands, and returned Verdane to the country his grandfather Batu had created.
Verdane, the forested land of the lake… Where Sigurd’s prayers are granted in the beautiful greenery, and the clear water is made up of Deirdre's tears. Or so the people believe…
-
Silesse, which had long been under the empire's control, crowned Ced once he returned home, and poured its energy into restoring the country's utterly destroyed lands.
The people loved their beautiful land and peace that had returned to it. The kingdom that Lewyn had given his life trying to protect was finally trying to finish his work.
-
And so, Seliph, as the new king of Grannvale, poured his energy into restoring the country, bringing peace to the continent, and creating a rich world without discrimination or oppression.
Through it all, he was always accompanied by his queen, Lana, who was always snuggled up next to him and smiling; and Princess Julia, who always watched over him with a kind, warm gaze.
-
Many years afterwards, the people would say.
"Within Jugdral's history, there was a holy king.
His name was Seliph."

feh asks
4: who did you choose to summoner support, and why?
i’ve swapped between them for a while but my current one is set to raigh!
Tumblr media
besides being my favorite fe6 character and honestly one of my favorite characters in the series in general, he’s the one who desperately needs the stat boosts the most out of my faves, considering he’s been in the game since launch haha
i also think it’s just more heartwarming to summoner support characters i clearly love as opposed to ones i can would only use for The Meta(tm)
15: favorite dancer unit?
A HARD QUESTION Q___Q CONSIDERING HOW MUCH I LOVE THE REFRESH UNITS IN FE....
lene if we’re just going based off personal biases! i love her character arc in fe4 and her motivations and personality. in general, her family gets a lot of love from me. but if we’re going for utility? then i think that’s either peony or legendary azura! having a dancer who can so effortlessly move around the map and get to the people they need to, has buffs built into their weapon/refresh itself, and/or increases the amount of movement their allies has for a turn is just so so useful, and they’ve definitely seen a lot of use out of me as a result!
20: any ideas for a future gauntlet?
i keep hoping there’s going to be a gauntlet that’s based on twins! we’ve had mothers vs sons, fathers vs daughters, why not some little fun sibling rivalry? i think we can get a good spread for continent representation AND gender representation as well!
with the units we currently have in feh, i’d probably want it to be:
julia vs julius, lugh vs raigh, eirika vs ephraim, felicia vs flora
yes i want this to put raigh in a voting gauntlet finally so what AKSHMRHG
i think another cute idea would be to have it be jagen/oifey archetype themed! let the mentors come out! we’d need more of them in the game, but my ideal gauntlet for that would be:
jagen vs mycen, oifey vs eyvel OR finn, marcus vs seth, titania vs frederick
g i m m e  t h e  g r a n d p/m a  f i g h t s
29: which units artwork is your favorite?
are y’all ready to go “huck what the FUCK” cause i’m here to throw down some YEAR ONE ART!!!!! we’re gonna show off multiple cause i’m too indecisive to pick just one
Tumblr media
klein’s art is one i like for all his poses! tobi’s definitely one of my favorite artists, having such a nice palette of colors. klein’s has always stuck with me for drawing my attention even before i actually knew who he was (fe6.... had taken me a long time to get through MAKHRKGR) and i like how he actually does have very different expressions between his normal, attacking, and damaged art!
Tumblr media
winter envoy chrom!!! ebila’s art was nice Y’ALL ARE JUST MEAN!!!! there’s a charm to how they draw chrom. when i see ebila’s chrom, i think, man, this guy legitimately wants the best for me. his smiles just communicate that, but his anger feels raw too! the colors are pleasing, the special art isn’t too chaotic and there’s a flow of action with them, and ebila’s art definitely improved with each chrom they got to draw. bring ebila back!!!!
Tumblr media
legendary lyn!! we’re outside of year one i think with this one, but wada sachiko’s colors are so vibrant! lyn, despite being in damaged art, doesn’t actually look overly fanservicey! her expressions are great, i particularly love seeing her fierceness in the heat of battle here! it’s also nice to see the fur there and how it’s drawn; it looks so fluffy! this is definitely my favorite of wada sachiko’s feh works!

For the ask, seliph/tine 21x?? Please
“I’m sorry, I can’t get up,” Seliph said apologetically. He hadn’t heeded Oifey’s warnings about the long and arduous process of getting one’s body used to sitting in the saddle. All his muscles ached.
Tine, however, took this in stride and flipped him over in his bedroll with a strength that surprised him. “Tine, what are you--”
“Lana gave me ointment to put on your sores. I need to remove your pants to apply it.
Seliph’s face turned bright red. She-- she what?! Even if they were now a couple, that was-- “I--I should--”
“Didn’t you just say you couldn’t get up?” Tine raised an eyebrow. “Since helping at the infirmary, I’ve seen much worse, no need to worry about me.”
“I... it’s more worrying about what you think...” Seliph replied weakly. Tine then knelt down and kissed the top of his head.
“Seliph, you are always beautiful to me. That goes whether you are dressed in your best, or when I have to apply ointment on your poor thighs and bum.”
Seliph turned even more red, but couldn’t find it in himself to object much further.

⭐fic of your choice
Imma talk about “Reckoner” since that took FOREVER to write and I was thrilled to finally have it see the light of day last year.
So the idea was kicking around in my head from my very first PT of FE4 like, in 2013? Something like that. You encounter the village dude in Ch10 who says you gotta sacrifice somebody to Julius&Ishtar to pass and while you sure don’t if you have Forseti!Ced on your team, it got me thinking. This wasn’t so many years after the howls of fan fury over the “sacrifice” in FE11, and here was a beloved entry in the franchise urging the player to do exactly that!
I bounced some ideas off the Dreamwidth gang and the earliest draft began to take shape. It centered around Lester, Diarmuid, and Ulster and went to some pretty dark places:
“That’s something we don’t do.  Like torture– we don’t do it, and it separates us from the people we’re fighting against.”
“Well…”
“What, Del?”
“You mentioned torture.  Leif’s tactician in Thracia– August, you remember him?”
“The creepy old priest, yeah.  You mentioned him before.”
“He knew all about torture.  He’d done it.  He could teach it.”
Like that, yeah.
That was V 1.0 and I toyed with it until August of 2015, when I realized that the entire idea of the “blood sacrifice” required to get past Miletos worked much, much better in a subkiddy universe. So I started working with Deimne, Tristan, and Roddlevan (as he was then called) instead of the “canon” Tirnanog boys. That helped drive the narrative on the boys’ end– their feelings of uselessness and low self-worth, the friction between Tristan and Roddlevan that distracted from coming up with something better, the sense that the whole thing was a league above them anyway. The adults were a bit more of a problem, as while I felt comfortable enough in assigning Shannan the role of “Eff blood sacrifice let’s just go in there and seize Miletos,” who staked out what corner of the debate and how heated those arguments got was a real thornbush to navigate.
“And while we’re talking about that, don’t you think I’ve felt a share of responsibility all these years for advising those closest to me into a complete disaster?”
“You may as well send me in,” Prince Shannan interrupted.  “I’m the one who didn’t do a good job of guarding Deirdre and got us into this mess.”
“Shannan…”
“Well, if we’re going to pick over who did or didn’t do what twenty years ago…”  The prince flipped a strand of glossy dark hair over his shoulder.  “I still think we just need to send in the best we’ve got and take on Julius and his girl.  Even if we’re just talking holy weapons, there’s more of us.”
“If it only takes one life to pass, we can’t risk more than that number,” said Lord Oifey.
“Yeah, but if we take out Julius here and now–”
“Can it, all three of you,” said Lewyn, having clearly lost patience with the other men.  “We’ll have fate settle this.”
Then FEH came to town and we got new names and, piece by piece, additional bits of characterization. And then AMC’s The Terror hit the airwaves and I was hooked (I’d been anticipating it for years) and suddenly my brain was immersed in this dated homosocial military world that was both under outside attack and rotting internally and something… clicked.
“No, you won’t,” Prince Shannan said to the both of them. The prince grasped Lord Oifey’s hand by the wrist and held it close to his own heart. “Send in the best we’ve got and let us take on Julius and his girl. Even if we’re just talking holy weapons, there’s more of us right now. Trust me. We are Crusaders. We were born for this.”
“Twelve of you were created for this,” said Oifey, very low and solemn. He didn’t take his hand back from Shannan. “And we have only three weapons now.”
At this, Shannan let go of Oifey and aimed a finger right at Lewyn.
“Then why doesn’t he take the Forseti tome out of its hiding place before sending one of you to die?”
So began draft 3.0, in which the impossible role of some poor wannabe knight like Tristan became more clear, in which the adults weren’t just frustrated with one another, they really cared about one another… maybe too much. While Version 1.0 presented Oifey and Lewyn as prospective in-laws thanks to Fee, V 3.0 hinted that the adults had aligned themselves along different axes entirely. Of course, I’d also had many more years of playing with these characters and other ‘fics had happened in the meantime.
“Shannan. If it only takes one life to pass, we can’t risk more than that number,” said Oifey, and now he took hold of Shannan’s shoulder. “And I’m not risking yours. You’re Isaach’s last hope.”
“Isaach got liberated without me. If we take out Julius here and now—”
“Lewyn, please…” And the other three turned to look at Finn, because talking over Prince Shannan wasn’t something he did. He sounded choked up, almost like this whole discussion was making him sick. “Pass your judgment. I trust you know which of us is essential, and which can be deployed.”
The tiny reflection of Lewyn in Deimne’s mirror looked angry, at least that’s what Deimne thought. The tactician was usually above all of them, almost like a god himself, and Deimne’d never seen an expression quite like that on Lewyn’s face. But maybe Deimne was seeing things, the way the blood churning in his ears now was making it harder to pay attention and his own stomach felt like it was roiling from the horror of listening to this conversation.
“We’ll have fate settle this,” Lewyn said. He held up one hand and Deimne caught a flash of gold between his fingers. Lewyn looked right at Prince Shannan and added, “This coin has only two sides.”
And suddenly the whole damn thing worked in a way it just hadn’t before, and I was able to publish it and finally get it off my chest. :D

Ship bias list (romantic + platonic)
//This is different from my “default ships” list in that, rather than being “canon” or what my muses themselves feel (at least at this point), these are my own personal (flexible!) preferences lol. In most cases the romantic and platonic ones are capable of switching sides unless they’re like, related to each other or something.
Also! Just because I list a specific url doesn’t mean I won’t be open to develop things with others who also play that chara! It probably goes without saying, but all of them are of course open to literally anyone who happens to develop chemistry with them in addition to whoever I have listed.
EDIT: this list is now outdated! Please refer to newer posts for my ship prefs
Beowolf
Romantic: Lachesis (onesided usually but depends on my mood), Ayra, literally any woman who can kick his ass, anyone up for a good time and who's chill with his kids in general
Platonic: The...the same, really...but also add Dew ( @sireneia ) and Eldigan, plus any kids of his whether by blood or not, A GOOD LONG LIFE SURROUNDED BY HIS 9 MILLION CHILDREN
Diarmuid
Romantic: I guess Ulster, Lester, any second gen or person who takes an interest in him really? He’s like his brother in that he soaks up attention like a sponge (just...in a quieter manner than Fergus lmao)
Platonic: Also the same...but in particular the Tirnanog gang, Oifey, Lene (sireneia), Nanna, Ares, Fergus

Arvis/Seliph C-A Support
Written by  animenutcase
CONTENT WARNING: Arvis’s marriage to Deirdre (his half-sister) isn’t going to be explored in-depth, but the subject is going to come up a couple times.
C SUPPORT
Seliph: Duke Arvis of Velthomer.
Arvis: …Can I help you? Seliph: I wanted to ask you something. Arvis: That’s fine, but we need to prepare for the next battle. Seliph: You wanted to unite Jugdral as one, correct? Arvis: Yes. My goal is to create a more equitable world, one without discrimination. Seliph: A noble goal. Then, may I ask why you killed my father? Arvis: …I’m sorry, but I’m afraid I don’t know who your father is. I don’t even know who you are. Seliph: I think you do. Arvis: My apologies, but I’m afraid I don’t. Seliph: Then why aren’t you looking me in the eye? Arvis: …! Seliph: I was told that my face resembles that of my mother, Deirdre of the Spirit Forest. It’s also my understanding that she was the wife of Emperor Arvis of Grannvale… in other words, you. Arvis: So it’s true, then. I could theoretically have pretended that Sigurd had been trying to trick me when he saw her at Belhalla, but this… You look too much like her for it to be coincidence. Arvis: Heh. Of course you do. Deirdre looked too much like… Seliph: Like your mother. Arvis: How- Seliph: Given how the Loptyr Sect was nearly hunted to extinction, it’s not that hard to guess that there was some foul play involved in Julius becoming Loptyr’s vessel. Lewyn only suggested it as a theory, but I think it’s true. He had some spies in Velthomer who distinctly remember a portrait of Lady Cigyun. Arvis: Tch! Seliph: I’m not going to force you to talk about it, but I will want some answers eventually. Good day to you, Duke Arvis. [Seliph leaves.] Arvis: He really does look like her... [Arvis and Seliph have reached support rank C.]
B SUPPORT
Seliph: Why don’t you tell me about Lady Cigyun, Duke Arvis? Arvis: You just dive right in, don’t you? You’re more like your father than I thought. Seliph: I’m just curious about the sort of woman my grandmother was. Oifey told me about Sir Vylon, but he never knew my father’s mother, so I can’t ask about her. I’d like to ask about Prince Kurth, too. Arvis: Prince Kurth was a kind and wise man. My mother always looked happier when he visited than she did with my father. Of course, Father also seemed to prefer the company of women besides his wife. Seliph: Duke Victor was rather infamous. I’d heard a few stories about him, as well. Arvis: How unfortunate for you. My father was a blight on the House of Velthomer, and his death was one of the few good things that came out of the mess with Prince Kurth. Seliph: Was your brother another of them? Arvis: You know about Azelle? Is he alive!? Where is he!? Seliph: I-I don’t know. I only know what I’d heard from Oifey, Shannan and Lady Edain, and none of them knew what happened to him! Arvis: I see. I apologize for grabbing your shoulders. Seliph: No, it’s my fault for bringing up a sore subject. Arvis: And yet you brought up my mother. Seliph: I… apologize. Arvis: Don’t apologize. It was a joke. Seliph: (It didn’t sound like a joke…) Arvis: As for my mother… I’d always loved her long, silver hair. I remember it tickling my face whenever she hugged me. Come to think of it, Deirdre’s silver hair was the first thing I noticed about her as well. It was a rather unusual color. In hindsight, I should have been more suspicious. Seliph: I’d… I’d prefer it if we kept the subject on Lady Cigyun, please. Arvis: Of course. My mother was a timid woman, but she was capable of standing up when she needed to. When Father tried to have Azelle’s mother banished, she argued that she should be allowed to stay. Seliph: Wow. Arvis: At the same time, trying to keep Velthomer stable and keep Father in check took its toll on her. I can count the number of times I saw her smiling in the days before she left on one hand. Seliph: It sounds like things were already starting to go bad even before the war with Isaach. Arvis: You may be right. That’s part of the reason I became as ambitious as I did. My mother swore me to secrecy the night she told me of her Maera blood. If anyone learned of it, we’d doubtlessly be burned at the stake. I couldn’t condemn her for fleeing Velthomer, especially after I learned the truth of why she did so. Seliph: … Seliph: When exactly did you learn the truth, Duke Arvis? Arvis: …It was shortly after the Battle of Belhalla. I had done some digging and learned that around the time Sigurd set out for Verdane, a woman matching Deirdre’s description had been seen near the Spirit Forest where my mother came from. That was where I learned the truth. At that point, however, it was too late. When I returned to Belhalla, Deirdre broke the news that she was pregnant. At that point, all I could do was pray that neither of the twins inherited our Maera blood. Seliph: Do you… remember finding out? Arvis: I spent every day praying that the mark on his forehead was just a birthmark. The day it became clear that it wasn’t was the worst day of my life. Deirdre went to check on the children, but then there was a commotion in the twins’ room. I rushed there, but when I arrived, Deirdre was lying on the ground and Julius had turned into… something I couldn’t recognize. And Julia was… gone. Seliph: Duke Arvis… Arvis: I don’t know anything beyond that. If Julia is alive, then Deirdre’s sacrifice at least meant something. Please, tell me! Seliph: She-she was alive last I saw her! But… she vanished in Miletos. We think she might have been abducted by Manfroy. Arvis: …I knew I should have killed him when I had the chance. Seliph: Duke Arvis, you’re getting angry. I think we should table this discussion for now. I’ll be happy to tell you about Julia later, but please try to calm down. Arvis: Very well, then. [Arvis and Seliph have reached support rank B.]
A SUPPORT
Seliph: Do you feel better, Duke Arvis? Arvis: Yes, thank you. Seliph: I met Julia right after we began our liberation of Isaach. She was rather quiet, but I felt drawn to her. Even if Lewyn hadn’t asked me to look after her, I think I would have done so anyway.
Arvis: How did she look? Did she seem healthy, like she was eating enough? Seliph: Heh, she looked fine. She seemed a bit shy about eating at dinner, but I think that’s because she didn’t know us very well, and it didn’t take long before she got used to us. Arvis: Good. Seliph: She’d lost her memories, however. Lewyn said that when he found her, the only thing she could remember was her name, and only because the words “Julia, you must live” were ringing in her head. Arvis: …! I-I see. Seliph: I’m sorry. I wish I could tell you more. Arvis: You’ve… told me enough. You could have lied to me or refused to tell me anything, but you were honest. I’m grateful for that. Seliph: Duke Arvis, how much do you remember of the future? Arvis: Like I said, my memories only go up to the night of Deirdre’s death. Why? Seliph: … Arvis: …You killed me. Seliph: I- Arvis: Don’t. I’m not angry. Your father was an innocent pawn in my schemes. I don’t have a right to condemn you for avenging him. I merely want to ask how you did so. Seliph: I… We rescued some children that had been taken in the child hunts when- Arvis: Child hunts!? By the Lopytr Sect!? Seliph: Y-Yes. The Bishop protecting them was from Chalphy, and he gave me the Tyrfing. He wouldn’t say where he got it, though. Arvis: He didn’t say? Seliph: It’s strange. People were saying that my father wielded it at the Battle of Belhalla, so I’m not sure how it got into his hands. The only person who could have had it after my father’s death is the king, and after King Azmur died, it would have passed into the hands of the… next king. Arvis: … Seliph: It was you. You sent the Tyrfing out with him. You were the one who let the children go. Arvis: I should hope so. The very fact that the child hunts were happening under my watch tells me that something went very wrong under my rule! Seliph: You really don’t know, do you? Arvis: Tell me what happened in the future after Deirdre’s death. I want to know every detail of what the Grannvale Empire was up to. Seliph: You’re not going to like it. […] Arvis: Hah. Hahaha! Seliph: Duke Arvis? Arvis: Oh, this is rich! You mean to tell me that everything I’ve ever worked for, every sacrifice I’ve ever made, has been for nothing!? Seliph: … Arvis: I wonder if I’ve been cursed. I don’t know if my brother is dead or alive, I’ve married my own sister, my son is going to turn into a monster, and my daughter is going to lose her memories and be raised on the run, and now you’re telling me that I’ve even failed to create the world I dreamed of!? Seliph: I-I’m... sorry. Arvis: As long as I put an end to discrimination and inequality, I could understand. Sacrifices need to be made for society to advance, and my own happiness is no exception to that. But it was all for nothing!? Arvis: Heh. I wonder if this is a curse from your father. Seliph: No, I don’t think my father resents you. Arvis: What? Seliph: After I killed you, I felt… empty. I went to the cliffs near Chalphy and held up the sword, telling my father that I’d avenged him, and… I saw my parents. Arvis: What!? Seliph: My mother said that Lewyn had done a good job with me, then asked about Julius and Julia. But my father… scolded me. He told me that I needed to know the suffering of the common people. I don’t think he agreed with your actions, but… I think he understood why you did what you did. Arvis: … Seliph: This has been an… interesting talk. I feel like I’ve gotten to know you better. Arvis: … Seliph: I understand if you don’t want to speak any more. I know you have a lot to think about. Good night, Uncle. [Seliph leaves.] Arvis: Idiots, both of them… [Arvis and Seliph have reached support rank A.]

so i haven’t gotten around to writing the seliph/ares parks and rec au like i said i would, but i have something sort of similar (at the end anyway). i wrote this the other day for my beloved mom @arthoure for her birthday bc i love her and i love seliph/ares. also this fic is based on us rping our boys and a bunch of headcanons weve been talking about for like 8 years so please enjoy this i worked hard on it and its a masterpiece
The royal court was in an outrage. After they had overcome their fears and formulated a plan, Seliph and Ares had just announced their engagement and how they were going to produce heirs. That won’t work! Our countries should be ruled by a king and a queen!
Seliph waved them off, jaw tense with anger. “I happened to have been raised by two men and a surrogate mother,” he said, voice booming in the meeting room. “Are you going to take issue with that and insult not only Lady Adean and Lord Oifey, but also King Shannan?”
Ares sat quietly at his side, knee bouncing and knuckles white on top of the book in his lap. Managing Your Anger and Other Courtly Etiquette. He’d borrowed it from Chalphy’s library in anticipation for this meeting. It was so absurd Ares would have sworn it was written for humor, but maybe it was what he needed to get through this.
The pompous nobles still refused to budge, repeating the same useless arguments to Seliph. Ares had hoped that glowering in silence next to Seliph would be enough to make them back down, but no such luck. He rose to his feet, slammed the book on the table, and straightened to his full height, glad that he was wearing his black cloak and armor. Everyone except Seliph jumped at the outburst.
“Do you wish for your king and savior to be unhappy?” Ares bellowed with a flip of his cape. “How much has he done for you, for the world, and this is how you treat him?” He furrowed his brow so hard he thought his face would get stuck like that. “Do you know who had your coveted king and queen family? Julius.” He spat the name with so much hate, even Seliph was stunned. Seliph’s blue eyes on him were wide, but he saw Seliph biting back a smirk.
One of the noble jesters who clearly had not been paying attention stood up to object. “Well, what about heirs-“
“We have a plan,” Ares cut him off immediately. “Our announcement has been made, and all of your objections have been met with a counterpoint and thus deemed stupid and ridiculous. We won’t be hearing anymore of this!” He grabbed Seliph’s hand and squeezed tightly, making sure everyone saw and realized that they weren’t giving in. He swiped the book from the table and left with a beaming Seliph in tow.
Later, Oifey met Seliph and Ares in the courtyard, where they were dancing in front of a small fire on the ground. “I’m proud of you two for not backing down,” he said proudly. “Congratulations- what are you doing?”
Ares stoked the paper in the fire with a grin. “Celebrating. We forced the nobles’ approval and got ten complaints of excessive rudeness but who cares?”
“You should have seen him, Oifey, he was awesome,” Seliph chimed in with a smile. “So smart, so hot, so mean, I wanted him to take me right there in that stuffy meeting room.”
Oifey frowned and pointed at the book in the fire. “No, what are you doing?”
Seliph poked at one of the papers. “Oh, we are burning this awful anger management book.”
“That’s mine. I wanted that back!”
Ares shrugged. “Well, frankly you should have thought of that before we burned it.”

Chapter 9 - And So, the Door of Fate Opens...
Part 2
Sigurd thought over the meaning of his father’s words as he traveled back the way he came, and made it back to camp just as the sun began to rise.
Oifey caught sight of him, and rushed up to him. “We couldn’t find you! We were so worried! Where did you go?”
“Huh? Oh. ...I just needed some time to think.”
“You look very tired. Please take some time to rest…”
“I can’t. We must defeat Lombard today.”
“But you should rest for a bit! We can storm the castle in the afternoon.”
“No, we must go after him now.”
“But the soldiers haven’t even eaten yet!”
“Then I’ll go by myself.” Sigurd said, sounding very much like a spoiled child.
“Understood. I'll prepare the vanguard. Please try to wait until they are ready.”
Sigurd nodded in acknowledgement, so Oifey started running around, gathering up their best soldiers.
“What are you up to, Sigurd? Are you going to launch one of your famous surprise attacks?” Lewyn looked at him and said in a slightly joking tone.
“Yes. Please blow down the castle gate with your magic. I’ll rush in after that.”
“You’re really enthusiastic about this fight. Did something happen?”
“Not really. Lombard is my father’s murderer. So I’m going to kill him with this sword.”
“Whoa, that’s a nice blade. Did you just get it?”
“Yes. It’s the Holy Blade, Tyrfing.”
“So you’ve finally inherited it! Excited to see how well it cuts?” Lewyn walked up to the castle gate, then raised his right hand.
The surrounding air gathered in his palm, then he threw it.
The ball of Forseti’s magic flew forward, and pulverized the gate on impact.
Without saying another word, Sigurd unsheathed Tyrfing, mounted Farron, and charged towards the castle.
A few moments later, the other soldiers all followed after him.
There was one line of enemies already guarding the castle, waiting for their attack.
Sigurd rushed towards them, cut down the soldiers on his left and right, then kept going towards the main building.
Lombard was standing at the top of the stairs. “Well well well, if it isn’t Byron’s brat.”
“You murdered not only Prince Kurt, but also my father! Now accept your punishment!”
“You sure can talk big. But do you really think you can match my Holy Axe, Helswath!?”
“Don’t you remember this blade, Lombard?”
“What!? Tyrfing!? H-How did you get that…?”
“I’ll pave your way to hell!”
Farron climbed the stairs in one smooth jump.
Lombard swung Helswath at Farron’s eyes. The horse turned his head, just barely dodging the attack. At the same time, Sigurd swung Tyrfing, and sliced Lombard’s head clean off his body.
Sigurd jumped off Farron, picked up Lombard’s head, held it high in the air, and yelled, “Lombard is dead! The battle is over!”
-
With the castle conquered, Sigurd ordered his army to gather in the courtyard.
The soldiers all started to travel through the castle gate, surprised to learn that their army had already taken the castle.
Once everyone had arrived, Sigurd stood at the top of the stairs, where he’d defeated Lombard.
When they saw his face, everyone was even more surprised. No one had ever seen him tired, ever.
“The war for Silesse is over! I thank you all so much for your hard work. However, this still doesn’t mean that we are done fighting yet. We can’t leave Grannvale as it is now. We must continue fighting until one side is defeated, be it us or them. Our army will now cross the Isaachian deserts, and march towards Grannvale, to defeat them once and for all!”
Everyone cheered in response.
Sigurd raised a hand to quiet them, then continued his speech.
“We march towards victory. However, from now until the very end, we will be fighting a proper army. We must remember that every fight will be long and hard. Some battles may become chaotic. Horrors we never thought possible might become a reality. I only want those who continue fighting to be those who understand the true meaning of what is about to happen. I also want any children who are not yet old enough to fight, pregnant women, and injured people, to stay here. If you do not wish to stay here, then please return to your homes, or at the very least, find a safe place unaffected by the war. I plan to keep my son Seliph far away from the battlefield from now on as well.”
Commotions broke out throughout the crowd.
Seliph was almost two years old now. He always walked up to everyone and started smiling and babbling, so he’d become the mascot for the army. Until this point, it had been unthinkable that he’d ever stay behind.
With that decision made, everyone had to think twice about just how difficult the remaining battles would be.
“Those who will stay behind may go their own separate ways when they are ready. I know it will be difficult to say goodbye to the allies you fought together with. But I still want you to understand my feelings on this matter. That is all. Sorry to disrupt your breakfast.” Sigurd returned to his room and called for Oifey.
Oifey came in right away, with Shanan following after him.
Sigurd glanced over at Shanan, then turned to Oifey and said, “Oifey, if you travel northeast from here, you’ll end up in Isaachian territory. I heard that Lombard’s eldest son Danan has been stationed there ever since Isaach lost the war with Grannvale, but his influence probably hasn’t reached the countryside yet. So I want you to…”
“Wait, you’re asking me to flee? I won’t! I will be by your side until the very end, Lord Sigurd!”
“Oifey, I know you might think I’m being selfish, but please understand. I don’t want Seliph to be lost. He’s not even two yet. I wouldn’t be able to fight if I had such a young child with me. ...Please, Oifey. I want you to protect Seliph. You’re the only one I can count on to do this.”
“Lord Sigurd… Do you really mean that? …Okay. I’ll do as you say. I will guard Lord Seliph with my life. But in return, please promise me, that when this war is finally over, you’ll come back for him. ...If you don’t, then I can’t leave.”
“Yes. I promise. I will come for him.”
“I trust you.”
“Wait!” Shanan cut in. “It’s my duty to protect Seliph. I told both you and Deirdre that I would. Don’t give him to Oifey until Deirdre says to.”
“Shanan, I know you’re still guilty about what happened to Deirdre, but it’s okay. You don’t have to be any longer.”
“No! I’ll protect Seliph! The people of Isaach hate Grannvale. So Oifey can’t go alone and protect him there. But I am a prince of Isaach, so I can. And I made a promise to Deirdre…”
“Lord Sigurd, I strongly agree with him. You might be thinking that you don’t want to get him involved, but he’s already turning out to be a fine warrior. We need Shanan’s power to gain the cooperation of the Isaachian people.”
“You’re right. ...I’m sorry, Shanan. I’ll entrust Seliph to you. Please protect him.”
“I will! You can trust me with him! I’ll keep getting stronger, and keep him safe. Then maybe one day… He will forgive me for what happened to Deirdre…”
And so, Oifey and Seliph went to Isaach to keep Seliph safe. Ayra’s twins Ulster and Larcei, Aideen’s son Lester, and Lachesis’ son Diarmuid also went with them.
Brigid’s son Faval and Tailtiu’s son Arthur were kept in Silesse.
Sigurd suggested all women who may be pregnant stay in Silese, and they all swore that they weren’t.
However, the truth was that Aideen, Lachesis, Brigid, and Tailtiu were all carrying their second child. Erinys was also pregnant with her first.
Sigurd also told Claud that Silvia should stay in Silesse because she wasn’t a fighter. After taking time to think about it, he agreed, and went to tell Silvia.
“Silvia, please stay in Silesse with Lene.”
“I won’t! Do you really think there’s an idiot alive who would leave a real man once she’s found him!?”
“Then I have something to tell you. I never intended to speak about this to anyone, but you’re my wife, so I’ll tell you. Please don’t say a word about this to anyone else.”
“What could possibly be that big a deal…?”
“Listen, we’re going to lose this war. Everyone central to the fight is going to die.”
“No…”
“I prayed to the Valkyrie Staff at the Bragi Tower, and the gem showed me what’s going to happen.”
“I… I can’t believe that. It must be a lie! You’re just trying to play a trick me, right? C’mon, please. Tell me it’s all a lie!”
“No, unfortunately, it’s not.”
“Then why are you going?”
“The staff hid something from me. It is my duty to witness it with my own eyes.”
“That can’t be… Then I’ll go too! If you’re going to die, then I’ll die with you!”
“Listen, Silvia. Our lives don’t always end entirely when we die. It is inevitable that all living things will die and lose their physical forms, but it is not all for naught. We will change, and take on an even more perfect form.
“Even if I die, I’ll be born again. There is already another life growing inside of you… They may be the next me. That is why you must live, Silvia. For me... For us.”
“Are you saying you’ll live on inside of me, Claud?”
“And Lene, right? And the child you’re carrying now, right? You possess an extraordinary power. That is why you can live on without me. I’m the one who can’t live without you. Over the past year, you’ve shared that power with me, and changed me so much. Because of you, I can calmly face my own death. Thank you for everything. You’ve taught me how much joy and happiness there is in this life.”
“Oh, Claud…” Silvia hugged him tight, and started crying.
“I’ll live. I’ll raise our children. Lene will be just like me. And if our next child is a boy, he’ll be just like you…”
-
Ten days after the war in Silesse ended… Sigurd’s army prepared for the next battle, and left Luveck.
Those who continued on, and those who stayed behind, each kept their memories close to their hearts, and started down their new paths.

julia, well julia was a monster nothing else to say here
oifey,,, oifey,,,,,,, i love you oifey but GOD why are you so bad? i never have done ANY RUN with a good oifey, he always ended,,,kinda stinky STILL he could be usefull but sadly he’s one of my TWO ONLY unit that aren’t lvl 30 at the end
shannan was (unlike his husband) VERY strong as always so yeah
Tumblr media
dimna is cute af look at him, cute and strong! he’s a little difficult to train, and needs to kill a lot of already half dead ennemies to up but when he’s trained he became really good! he still has some problems to double, with only 13 speed,,, i wanted to give him a speed ring but UNFORTUNATELY he was too poor to get one and then i forgot
mana was bad at fighting (she has no skills) but she was REALLY helpful with her silence restore & rescue, she truly was the mvp of the fallen julia moment so she’s good! a good staves user :--)
jeanne was bad i wont lie, she heals well, and since she is on horseback she was REALLY helpful, tho i must admit i gave her a brave sword and manages to be WAY better than before, her problems is --> she doesnt have any skills

Tumblr media
rodolbahn was kinda stinky at the beggining, like all other sub kids but he ended really good! i’m so proud of him tbh he’s really strong
radney is the same as rodolbahn, tho she’s a little worse? she was really strong too don’t get me wrong but idk she has the tendency to NOT KILL some things and yeah still she’s good!!
asaello was one of the last to promote, he was a little bad compared to dimna at first but with a little of special training he promoted and become strong! the barrier ring is on him don’t ask me why

a/n : indulgent af celeif pronz because this is what i live to provide, motherfucker
It’s hard to explain where the feeling comes from, whenever he’s around him. That trembling in his chest, the tightness in his stomach. He thinks he understands it a little more now, today, seeing him knee-deep in scrolls and maps, hands planted on the table as he laid out his plans for the scouting mission in the morning with an authority that couldn’t have possibly not convinced everyone in the room that he was serious and capable despite the fair face. Off to the side, Leif had swallowed, shuffled from foot to foot; eventually, the conversation had dissolved into hammering out the particulars of the mission, and the voices and words had faded into white noise. He continued to watch his cousin, pointing to places on the map, nodding or shaking his head in response to someone’s advice, defending or conceding a point. He’d turned to him with an encouraging smile after it was all over, and in the same gesture a lock of blue hair had fallen over his eyes and somehow that just made him even more arresting.
“I’m glad that’s over.” Outside, the late night air is fresher than the interior of the war tent, which always seemed to retain tension and keep it locked in. Celice takes a deep breath next to him, and Leif feels his heart pound. “We should get some rest before tomorrow.”
“Yeah,” he replies, his own voice sounding strange to his ears. “I haven’t gotten a chance to set up my own tent yet, but I’ll figure something out.”
“Oh!” Celice pauses midstep, turning to him in surprise. “Then, why don’t you share with me? There’s plenty of space.”
Blinking, Leif feels himself flush brightly, equal parts flustered by the suggestion and horrified at his own reaction. “N-No, I couldn’t!”
The confused – almost hurt – look on Celice’s face is enough to make him regret having said anything at all. “Why not? We’re cousins, aren’t we? Our fathers were best friends . . . ”
“It’s fine,” he insists, though a little more weakly. “I’ll find Nanna, o-or Asvel, or . . . ” He trails off at the sad look he’s given, feeling his heart drop further into his stomach somewhere. Celice – handsome, strong Celice – is looking at him, and those eyes up close rob him of words, the color of the night sky and just as fathomless. He feels like he could fall into them and lose himself in their eternity.
“I mean . . . we’re friends, aren’t we Leif?” he asks gently. “I understand if you don’t feel that close to me yet, but . . . I’d like to be best friends with you. It’d mean a lot to me if you’d stay, but you don’t have to.” He smiles again, and Leif finds that there’s no way in heaven or hell that he could move himself to refuse. He would do anything to be the one receiving that smile.
“Okay,” he finally replies, and he’s rewarded with Celice’s face brightening even more. Knowing that he’s the cause of it makes his heart clench and he finds it hard to breathe.
“Really? Great! Then come on, let’s find some extra blankets. I think Oifey should have something . . . ”
A little while later, Leif is curled up on the floor of Celice’s tent, back turned to him. The sound of the other’s soft breathing fills the small space, but the thudding of his heart drowns out any serenity he could find. He had arranged himself in the corner of the tent as physically far away from Celice as possible, and yet his body is still painfully aware of his presence. He tosses and turns, trying to ignore the sensitivity of his own skin, hot and wanting.
Finally, after several more minutes, he can’t take it anymore. He tosses the blanket off himself, already having begun to sweat beneath it. Celice is asleep anyway, right? As long as he’s quiet . . . He bites his lip, keeping his back to the other as he hurriedly, shamefully undoes the topmost fastenings of his trousers. His need grows rapidly, and he swallows back a sigh as he takes himself in hand, stroking quickly. This isn’t going to be self-indulgent or drawn-out; he just needs to get this over with as quickly as possible, before Celice can suspect anything.
Though he won’t admit it to himself, the act of doing this with him so close by . . .
He keeps his breathing level, quiet, clenching his stomach to avoid making any sound that would wake or disturb his cousin. But his mind keeps wandering to the other side of the tent. Celice – that handsome face, those plush, perfect lips. His strokes quicken, and he has to bite his lip harder in order to keep silent. His hips have involuntarily started to move – tiny, stilted thrusts up into his own grip. It’s unbearably hot under all his clothes, but if he can just keep it up for a little longer, he’ll be finished. Without meaning to, he lets slip a soft, sharp gasp as he gets close –
“Leif? Are you okay?”
“Ah -- !” Leif starts, then goes completely still, hand still around himself lest any movement should give him away. “Lord Celice – ?”
A moment of silence, and then: “ . . . I wasn’t asleep, you know.”
Mortified, Leif realizes he knows. Dread fills him, solid as a stone, and he swallows. Can he make up some excuse? No . . . denying it would only make it worse. Slowly, he pushes himself up, crossing his legs and trying his best to cover himself. His face is on fire, but his body still aches, on the edge of release.
He’s startled by the sound of rustling cloth, and then – is he dreaming? – he feels, more than hears, Celice’s voice in his ear. “Do you . . . think I can help?” A hand comes around, surprisingly bold – he’s still learning that Celice is hardly as soft as his face would suggest – grazing against his thigh before wrapping around the tip of his length. His head is spinning; he can’t understand why Celice is being so forward about this – until he feels a firmness press against his back. Oh.
Throat dry, he gasps again as Celice begins to stroke, slower than his own hand but so much better precisely because it isn’t his own hand. Celice is touching him. Celice. His eyes close and he can’t help but lean back against him with a throaty moan, arching his back to press his hips up. He feels Celice shift to sit closer, his own erection hard against the base of Leif’s spine.
“Lord Celice – can I . . . touch you as well?”
His hand is already wandering back, and a ripple of pleasure goes down all the way through him when Celice kisses his neck in answer, grip tightening around his cock. “Sure,” he murmurs, breath hot against the curve of his shoulder. “Let’s do it together.”
Without waiting for more, Leif turns to face him, and then presses his beautiful, incredible, breathtaking cousin down onto the blankets. Fabric shuffles as Leif moves to strip Celice of his trousers and Celice does the same, pushing down on the waistband of Leif’s pants to free his cock completely. At some point his mouth is on Celice’s and his lips are just as soft as they looked and he can’t possibly stop kissing him, not even if the entirety of the Liberation Army stormed into the tent at that moment. The night air filtering through the tent flap is cold but it goes unnoticed, eclipsed by the heat generated between them as they grind and writhe amidst the blankets, breathing heavy sighs and strained moans. Once they’re both undressed, their erections brush and the sensation can only be described as a burn. Celice’s hands are on him, his on Celice’s; their mouths meet again and again, each kiss more feverish than the last, and it’s all dizzy, heady, winding up so quickly –
Leif hears his name leave Celice’s lips in a choked whisper and he can’t help himself anymore; a surge of excitement rushes through him and he climaxes, thrusting hard into his cousin’s hand. Thick, hot liquid spurts between them and he doesn’t realize until he hears Celice cry out – and what a sound – and feels warmth on his own hand that he’s following close behind. Realizing that he’s brought him to finish too prolongs his own pleasure, and he rides that fevered, desperate feeling for as long as he can.
Sticky, sweaty, and overheated, Leif stays there, panting hard, until he finds the strength to untangle himself from the nest of blankets they’ve wrapped about themselves. Almost immediately as he rolls back onto his side, a wave of guilt hits him, and his throat seizes up. What had he done? Had Celice really wanted that? He’s not worthy –
“Leif?”
He swallows, but manages a quiet “L-Lord Celice, I’m sorry -- ”
“No. Don’t be.”
The firmness stops him, but there’s something else – a sure softness, understanding and kind. The Celice that speaks to the heart, everyone says. “This is silly, Leif. We’re friends. Well . . . “ He can hear the blush in his voice. “Maybe a little more than that, now. But you shouldn’t have to call me that.”
“But -- ”
“Everyone else in this army calls me ‘Lord Celice’,” he says, and Leif feels him press close, a warm body to the curve of his back. “Please. I want it to be just ‘Celice’ when I’m with you. Do you . . . only see me as a Lord?”
He’s quiet, shoulders relaxing a little. “ . . . No. I’m sorry, I just – the way I feel for you, I thought . . . if I put that distance, maybe . . . ” His heart aches as he speaks, and he has to pause, taking a deep breath. Since the moment he’d first seen him, and every moment since. It’s not lessened, not at all.
But Celice simply reaches around to find his hand, and places his own over it, and Leif can feel that he doesn’t need to say anything more. “Don’t. Please, don’t. I don’t want that distance between us.”
And he says it with such sincere yearning that Leif has to bite his lip, his chest clenches so tight. “Okay . . . then Celice it is.” And he finds himself smiling as he says it.

Chapter 8 - The Birth of the Second Generation
Part 3
That night, Sigurd’s army held a strategy meeting at Sailane Castle - though it was more a discussion of the details of Oifey’s plans than a proper strategy meeting.
“We need to claim a decisive victory as quickly as possible, as it’s likely that the Zaxonian Army is also marching towards us right now. They also may have Grannvalian reinforcements bolstering their numbers. At least, that’s what I would arrange if I was their tactician. Those factors will make them a tough fight for the Silessian defense unit. We’ll need to conquer Torve as soon as possible to be able to support Silesse.
“To do so, we should first, of course, leave here and intercept the Torvian Army. I predict we will clash with them in the forest around the village northeast of here. Erinys reported that she only saw mages, but they may deploy pegasus knights in the morning as well. They can fly over water, so I think they may attack the castle directly, meaning we’ll need to leave a solid defense unit here.”
Everyone agreed to his plan, and after they decided who would be in the offense unit and who would be in the defense unit, the meeting was adjourned.
The next day, after breakfast, the offense unit left the castle and marched northeast.
They reached the forest just before noon, and saw a pillar of smoke in the distance.
“They’re pillaging one of the villages! Let’s hurry, everyone!”
At Sigurd’s order, the cavalry unit galloped through the forest at full speed towards the village.
But the wind mages were hiding throughout the trees.
Horses had terrible mobility in forests, so they had to stay put and fight close range.
The enemies’ wind magic was powerful, but Claud’s healing magic covered a wide area, so they were able to fight safely.
Sigurd saw that they weren’t utilizing any effective battle formations, and ordered, “Don’t fight one-on-one! Fight in groups of two or three!”
That strategy proved effective, and they were able to pick off the mages one at a time.
When there were a only a few mages left, the pegasus knights arrived.
And leading them was Deetvar, one of the four pegasus knights.
Maios had ordered her to cause chaos among Sigurd’s army. The goal had been to utilize the pegasus’ advantage of flight, and fly above the sea to assault Sigurd’s army from the rear.
But Sigurd’s army had advanced further than they’d predicted, and when Deetvar saw how much her allies were struggling, she decided to join the fight head-on. “Everyone! Attack the enemies below us!”
At Deetvar’s orders, the pegasus knights began to divebomb Sigurd’s army.
But against Sigurd’s army, who’d infantry unit had caught up to the cavalry at this point, the pegasus knights were like pebbles falling on their heads, and Deetvar’s unit suffered total defeat. Jamke and Brigid contributed the most to their victory, as arrows were particularly lethal against pegasus knights.
The pegasus knights slowly began to drop out of the air.
Deetvar turned towards Sigurd’s archers, and charged towards them. “Die!” She screamed, but her sword just barely missed its mark. Her pegasus tried to fly upwards, but couldn’t make it in time, and took a direct hit from one of Jamke’s arrows.
“Move, everyone! Full speed towards Torve Castle!!” Sigurd yelled.
The cavalry made it through the forest, and traveled quickly down a wide town road.
The enemies they faced along the way proved to be no challenge, and they stopped when they knew they could make it to Torve Castle by afternoon the next day. However, the bridge above the Torve River was raised.
They had no chance but to camp in front of the river.
-
Dew caught up to them that night.
Dew approached Noish and asked, “What’s the matter? It’s still light out! How can ya be done fightin’ already?”
“Take a good look at the bridge. We’re stuck here.”
“Whoa, it is out! But we ain’t stuck. It’s just been raised!”
“Whatever! It’s all the same to us. We can’t get across either way.”
“Yeah, ya can!! You can operate this kinda drawbridge from both sides!”
“Are you telling me you can lower it?”
“Yeah, ‘proly!”
“Alright then, let’s go talk to Lord Sigurd.”
Sigurd listened to Dew’s explanation, then gathered the cavalry unit in front of the bridge.
“Dismount from your horses, everyone! Don’t line up! We don’t want to send any signs of battle to our enemies! Then scatter your horses, so they all point in different directions!”
Dew walked up to the bridge, looked for the lever, and found a box on one of the support posts. It was locked, but opening the lock was easy work for him. Inside, he found the lever he was looking for.
He turned around and waved his arms in the air to signal to Sigurd.
Sigurd gave him the signal to lower the bridge, then turned to face the cavalry unit. “Now, everyone! Mount your horses, and charge!”
Once they were all ready to cross, Dew yanked on the lever.
With a loud creak, the bridge started to lower.
The moment it was down, Sigurd led the charge, with the cavalier unit right behind him.
The enemy had been so careless, that they hadn’t even lowered the castle gate.
Sigurd broke through the vanguard and rushed into the castle.
Maios had only just gotten on his armor and run out to the courtyard when Sigurd attacked and killed him with one swing of his silver sword.
Later, the village elder learned of what happened and approached Sigurd to thank him.
The elder explained that Maios had increased taxes considerably to maintain and strengthen his army.
“The villagers are so happy to hear he’s gone! We’re sorry to ask for more from you, but would you consider redistributing the tax money to the people who paid it?”
“I understand what you’re asking, but we’re from a foreign country, so we don’t have the right to decide how your tax money is used. For now, return the tax rate to what it was originally. I’ll discuss the issue with Queen Rahna next time I see her. She should be able to reach a conclusion for you.”
“Thank you! We trust that Queen Rahna would never be anything like Maios was! She’s the only person the citizens of Silesse could ever trust!”
“Really? Then it’s settled. I’ll leave this town entirely in your care until Queen Rahna orders otherwise.”
“Understood. We cannot thank you enough for your service. At the very least, we’d like to have a welcome party for you tonight.”
“We are very happy to accept your offer, but we must leave early in the morning, so please make sure no one drinks too much.”
The next morning, Sigurd left a defense unit, comprised mostly of archers, to guard the village, then left Torve Castle.
Maios and Dakkar had agreed to both attack at the same time.
However, Dakkar held off his attack on purpose. He knew how strong Sigurd’s army was, and decided to base his movements on the results of Sigurd’s battle with the Torvian Army.
When his reconnaissance pegasus knight informed him that Torve Castle had fallen, he knew it was time to strike.
‘If I attack Silesse Castle now, reinforcements from Sigurd’s army won’t arrive in time. Once I conquer the castle, I’ll fight together with the Grannvalian Army to destroy Sigurd’s army, then all of Silesse will be mine!’
Dakkar ordered another of the Four Angelic Knights, Pamela's, unit to deploy, and join the rear guard of the Grannvalian arch knights, who had just arrived.
Leading the arch knights was Duke Ring's son, Andorey.
The moment he'd been informed of Prince Kurt's assasination, he'd immediately begged Reptor to spare his life. Greedy and cowardly, Andorey's personality was the complete opposite of Duke Ring's.
Reptor looked at Andorey, trembling in fear that he might be treated guilty of the same crime as his father, and thought of a way to use him. 'He may not be strong, but at the very least, he'll probably do whatever I say.'
In exchange for being allowed to inherit the title of Duke of Jungby, Andorey swore his undying loyalty to Reptor.
Reptor's first order for Andorey was to go to Zackson Castle and aid Dakkar in conquering Silesse Castle.
The moment Dakkar saw Andorey's unit, he was rather impressed.
"Amazing, simply amazing… so this is the power of Jungby's arch knights."
Andorey beamed at the praise.
"So long as the Beige Ritter is mine, even the Silessian pegasus knights will fear me! Or at the very least, I have no reason to fear them." He said, feeling as though the arch knights were his very own power. The thought made him feel much better about his situation.
-
When Mahnya and received the news that the that pegasus knights from Zackson were coming, she went to Queen Rahna, and announced that she planned to leave to fight them straight away.
“So Duke Dakkar is finally showing his true colors, is he? Pamela is a force to be reckoned with. Please fight carefully.”
“Yes, she certainly should not be underestimated. But I am also one of Silesse’s Four Angelic Knights. I will fight honorably.”
“I’m sorry, Mahnya. I know how you feel… yet I…” Rahna had thought countless times about what if Lewyn and Mahnya married. She started to bring it up, but felt that it was not the time and place to do so, and kept silent about it.
“Queen Rahna, the only way of life I know is that of a knight. ...Try not to worry about that. Now… please excuse me.”
When Pamela saw Mahnya’s unit headed for hers, she gave the signal for her soldiers to lower their altitude. While it was more advantageous for pegasus knights to fight high in the skies, her plan was to bait Mahnya’s unit into the arch knights’ range.
‘What a fool! She knew full well that she would die if she came before me, yet she’s still keeping her loyalty to the queen. Well then, I’ll kill her and take her spot at the top of the Four Angelic Knights! Don’t have any hard feelings about it, Mahnya!’
Mahnya watched Pamela’s unit dive lower in the sky, and decided it was a golden opportunity. She signaled with her right hand to attack, and led her unit in descending.
She attacked a passing enemy pegasus knight along the way. One of the pegasus' wings flapped wildly, then both mount and rider plummeted towards the ground.
'She… was once one of my friends…' She thought, but only for a moment.
Mahnya's unit was still much higher in the air, so the fight was in their favor.
However, it only lasted for a moment. Andorey and the Beige Ritter arrived soon after. They aimed for Mahnya's unit, and shot arrows one after the other into the sky.
Mahnya's unit had their full attention on fighting the pegasus knights, leaving them no chance to dodge the arrows.
Andorey watched the pegasus knights fall out of the sky, and laughed in amusement. "Gah ha ha ha! Oh, how they fall! It's like catching bugs!"
Mahnya searched through the skies for Pamela.
Now that her unit's numbers were at the disadvantage, Mahnya thought to decide things one-on-one. However, when she turned to face Pamela, her pegasus' neck snapped backwards, and shook in the air. Mahnya gasped and pulled the reins, but felt herself begin to fall only a moment later.
'Dammit, was I hit from below?'
Her life flashed before her eyes.
'Ah… Prince Lewyn… please take care… of Erinys…'
The view of the ground beneath her got larger and larger at a terrifying speed.

Chapter 9 - And So, the Door of Fate Opens...
Part 4
Mages rained down meteors from atop the rocky mountains scattered throughout the desert, attacking Sigurd’s approaching army.
To safely proceed, Sigurd’s army needed to defeat them. And the only person they could rely on for that job was Erinys.
She aimed at the mages from the skies above them, and swooped down to attack.
The moment she defeated all the mages atop the first mountain, she saw a large group of dragons far off in the south.
She hurried back down to the rest of the army, and reported to Sigurd, “We don’t have good footing here, so we can’t fight! Let’s retreat back to Luveck Castle.”
There was still plenty of time left before the dragon knights caught up to them, so they could afford to retreat and organize their army. The soldiers all gathered in battle formation together, with the archers and those who could use offensive magic placed behind them.
-
Because he’d claimed such an easy victory against the Leonsterian Army, Magorn was full of arrogance.
When he saw Sigurd’s army, he ordered his soldiers to attack immediately, without taking the time to properly survey their battle formation.
The Thracian dragon knights were known for their bravery and valor, and put up a terrifying fight, but they only managed to just barely endure the first assault, while Sigurd’s army perfectly maintained their formation.
When they flew back up into the skies to regroup, their numbers had already dwindled by more than half.
Magorn realized that the battle was lost, but didn’t hesitate to give the order to attack a second time.
The lands of Thracia were barren, and the money the dragon knights made as mercenaries was the country’s main source of income. Their bravery and valor was the service they sold, and their absolute rule was to never retreat.
The moment they started to move to make their second attack, Sigurd’s army’s front line stepped back to allow the second line to attack.
While the dragon knights fought the second line, the archers stationed in the back picked them off one-by-one.
Magorn was also killed after taking a direct hit from Brigid while in the middle of a divebomb.
With the battle over, the heavily injured returned to Luveck Castle, while the rest of the army regrouped into their normal positions, and reentered the desert.
Erinys resumed her attack on the mages atop the rocky mountains.
To continue onwards, Sigurd’s army would have to conquer Phinora Castle, located in the middle of an oasis.
Erinys secured their path, and taking the castle was easy by comparison. Afterwards, Sigurd decided to allow his soldiers to rest.
-
Their next destination was Velthomer Castle, where Duke Arvis and Duke Reptor’s units were likely to be waiting for them.
Sigurd once again ordered the female soldiers to return to Luveck, especially those who were pregnant.
Azel persuaded Tailtiu to leave.
“Tailtiu, The Friegian Army is your father’s unit. You probably won’t be able to fight them. Go return to Silesse now. I’ll follow along after you. I promise.”
“But…”
“Or do you think you can kill your own father?”
“I… couldn’t…”
“And that’s okay. I couldn’t love someone who could callously kill their own father. ...When I first became a father, I realized exactly what a father is - a person who wouldn’t regret throwing away his own life for his children.”
“Azel, do you think you'll die?”
“Not at all! When I see Arthur’s face, I know that I cannot throw my life away. But if someone must fight, then it is the father’s duty to fulfill. And you have a duty as their mother to raise our children. It has to be you, because going to have another. Please take good care of them for me.”
“Azel!”
They both hugged each other tight as they could.
With their bodies so close together, Azel could feel the new life growing inside of her.
-
Jamke suggested to Aideen that she go to Isaach.
“Aideen, we vowed together to fight all the Sandimas in the world. And I don’t think they’re all going to be gone, even after this war ends. The fight must go on. That’s why I want you to go to Isaach, so you can raise Lester and our unborn child as part of the next generation of warriors.”
“Jamke, do you have a bad feeling about this?”
“N-No, that’s not it.” He denied her worries in a panic. “I’m just thinking of our children. And… Shanan and Oifey are in Isaach, but there’s no mother figure for the children there, so I was thinking that they’d really need one…”
“I was thinking that, too. But, Jamke, please be honest with me. You… do have a feeling something is going to happen too, don’t you?”
“For you to bring it up, means that you have the same feeling, doesn't it?”
“Yes, sometimes, the fear is so much that it makes my heart beat wildly. Though I don’t know why at all…”
“I feel the same. So please, go to Isaach.”
“Can’t you come with me?”
“No, I can’t. So please…”
“I understand. I do, I just thought I’d ask. Jamke, please survive, and come home to us.”
“Of course I will. I promise.”
-
It was finally time for the army to begin marching towards Grannvale.
Aideen and Tailtiu watched the army leave from Phinora Castle.
Jamke looked back time and time again, burning the image of Aideen over and over again in his heart, even as she became smaller and smaller.
When he turned around for what felt like the hundredth time, and swore to himself that it was the last time he would, he saw Dew wandering up to him.
‘Why is he ignoring Prince Sigurd’s orders?’ He thought, and stopped to wait for Dew.
“Hey, Jamke! What’s the matter?”
“You’re still here, Dew? There’s no place for you here any more. Hurry up and get away from here.”
“Wow, even Jamke’s tellin’ me to get outta here now! What’re ya’ll bein’ so weird for? You’re so close to winning, but ya’ll are on edge! What gives?”
“Sorry. ...Yeah, I guess I am being a little irritable. But you’re not really a soldier, so don’t follow us anymore.”
“Yeah, yeah, I get it. I’ll go on home.” He said, and started to walk away, but then turned back around and said in a very serious voice, “Jamke, I like you. When I think about it, I always did from the very beginnin’, back when I helped ya out at Marpha Castle. Ya may be a prince, but ya treat me like a human being. Thanks.”
“Whoa, where’d that come from all of a sudden? Now you’re the one acting weird!”
“Naw, I just wanted to say a little somethin’ nice. ...Well, I’ll be goin’ now. See ya.” Dew said, then broke out of the marching lines and wandered off.
‘Even Dew senses it.’ Jamke thought.
-
Beowulf jumped off his horse and waited for Lachesis to catch up to him.
“Hello, Beowulf! What’s the matter?”
“I was just thinkin’, you should go before the final battle starts.”
“What? Why do you look so serious?”
“Lachesis, I want you to take Diarmuid and go to Leonster. Finn’s there, and he’s a good guy. He won’t do anything to hurt ya.”
“Don’t say things like that! Where you go, I’ll go, too!”
Beowulf didn't argue back, instead looking straight at her and saying, “Lachesis, I ain’t good enough for ya.”
“Huh? Why…?”
“You’re a princess of Nordion, and I’m just a lowly mercenary. If only I were a more noble knight, then…”
“Seriously, why are you saying something like that!? I’ve never seen a more noble knight than you!”
“...”
“People aren’t born knights! It’s about what’s in their hearts! And you have a very noble heart. Your rough way of speaking just hides that. I’m very proud to have married you.”
Beowulf felt warmth spread through his heart. So as not to show it, he immediately mounted his horse, and said with his back turned to her, “Don’t forget what I just said to you. See ya, Lachesis.”
“Wait, Beowulf!”
But he didn’t wait, instead ordering his horse to gallop away. He didn’t even look back.
-
Midir slowed down his horse to walk aside Brigid, who was leading the bow unit.
“At long last, the final battle is about to begin. Are you doing alright, Brigid?”
“Yes, I am, because you’re by my side.”
Her words made his cheeks turn bright red.
“C’mon, I still make you blush?”
“Brigid, I’m very happy to have met you. Words can’t express how thankful I am to have you.”
“You liked Aideen, right? ...Are you really happy with me?”
“Yes, I did. But I didn’t love her as a woman. I was looking for someone to love and devote myself to as a knight, and she was the lady closest to me, so I chose her. To be honest, I thought of you in the same way, too, at first. But then, the more and more we talked, the more and more I learned what women are like as people. And that is why you, Brigid, are my first love. And my last.”
“Thank you, Midir. ...Please watch over me until the very end…”
-
Though it was still far off in the distance, everyone could now see Velthomer Castle.
Alec, who was marching directly behind Sigurd, said to Noish, who was next to him, “Noish, we’ve been through a lot together, huh?”
“Yeah…”
“I’ve counted on you for a lot.”
“Me too, Alec…”
“They were all fun times.”
“They were…”
“Well then, take care of yourself, Noish.”
“You too…”
-
Lex overheard Alec and Noish's conversation, which prompted him to halt his horse and wait for Ayra, who was leading the infantry.
When she saw him, she continued marching along and called out to him, “We’ve finally reached the end, Lex.”
“Yeah… but you’re being really stubborn! What can I do to get you to go back to Isaach?”
“And why would I do that? Because I’m a woman? I won’t allow even you to say something like that! We are both responsible for our children!”
“You’re right… I’m sorry. I was just thinking of them, lonely without us in Isaach…”
“And that’s why I’m trying to say that we should return to them together! After this battle is over, of course.”
“You’re right, Ayra. Alright then, I’m going on ahead.”
“I’m sorry, Lex. This is the only way of life I know…”
“Ha ha ha, I get that. And it’s why I love you. I don’t know what’s in store for us, but let’s go as far as we can together.”
“Yes…”
-
Once she defeated the last of the mages, Erinys landed her pegasus next to Lewyn.
“We’ve been through so much together, haven’t we, Lord Lewyn?”
“Yes, we have. But, Erynis, you must keep your promise.”
“That I will survive and return to Silesse, correct?”
“Yes. If anything strange happens, do not fight. Run. I will not die, so you can’t, either.”
“Yes, I promise. ...The dreams I’ve had since I was a child have come true, but it will all be over if we die in battle. I won’t leave your side.”
“My mother is waiting in Silesse. I think she’s looking forward to seeing you even more than seeing me. I bet she wants to meet her grandchild already.”
“Yes, we must make Lady Rahna… no, Mother, happy…”
-
And so, the final battle began.
Sigurd gave the order to attack, and everyone rushed up the hill leading to Velthomer Castle at once.
Atop the hill waited the Freigian Army, led by Reptor. And around the castle and the surrounding hills, waited Arvis’ fire mage unit...
However, when Sigurd’s army reached the top of the hill, the fire mages all attacked Reptor’s army. This sudden betrayal sent Reptor’s army spiraling into chaos.
Sigurd completely ignored both the betrayal and confusion, raising Tyrfing with one hand and charging directly into Reptor’s formation. He cut down the enemy soldiers on both his left and right sides, then made Farron gallop straight towards Reptor.
Again, the red monster appeared.
Seeing the blood soaked horse and rider coming towards them, the enemy soldiers were terrified, and stepped aside to let him through.
Finally, Sigurd found Reptor.
“Sigurd!? ...You traitor!”
“You’re the traitor!” Sigurd screamed, and kept galloping straight towards him.
Reptor opened Mjölnir and shot a spell at Sigurd.
Tyrfing was able to absorb most of the attack, but a bolt of lightning still made it to Sigurd’s arm and coursed through his body. “Dammit!” He bit his lip, endured the pain, and swung Tyrfing down in Reptor’s direction.
Reptor looked up at him in pure disbelief.
Sigurd swung Tyrfing yet again, this time landing a direct hit.
“Guah!” Reptor groaned, and fell.
‘I’ve avenged you, Father. But there’s still things I can do yet.’
“No, there’s still something that you must do.” He heard a voice ring through his head. It sounded like his father’s voice, yet nothing like it at the same time.
‘You’re right. I must reduce any further bloodshed as much as I possibly can.’
Sigurd straightened his back and yelled at the enemy army, “Everyone, listen! Duke Reptor is dead! Lay down your weapons!”
At his words, Reptor’s soldiers all threw down their weapons. The fire mages also stopped casting spells.
Then, Velthomer’s castle gate opened, and General Aida came out, followed by her subordinates.
Sigurd waited for her to come up to him, Tyrfing still in his hand.
Aida bowed at him and said, “This is Lord Sigurd. He’s made it home safe!”
“Why did you start attacking your allies!?” He asked accusingly.
“Duke Arvis knows that you are innocent. He said that Dukes Reptor and Lombard plotted everything together. They were just too powerful for him to stop on his own.”
“Is that what happened? So the dishonor on my father’s name will be erased as well?”
“Yes. Duke Arvis is waiting for you with His Majesty in Balhalla. He and all the troops in Balhalla should be there to greet you. He thinks the ceremony he has planned for your triumphant return will be celebrated across the entire country.”

Chapter 7
Part 6
Ayra was assigned the role of finding Brigid. One of the pirates led her around the places he believed they may find her, and they called out for her.
“Brigid! I’m not your enemy! I just want to talk. If you’re here, then please come out.”
She received no response on the first day, and returned to the castle in the evening.
The next morning, they set out for a rocky mountain to the west of the castle.
This time, when Ayra called out for Brigid, a response came right away.
“Who are you!?”
Ayra turned towards the voice, and responded, “I am Princess Ayra of Isaach, currently serving as a member of Prince Sigurd of Chalphy’s army.”
“Why is an Isaachian princess working with the Grannvalian Army!?”
“I’m not with the Grannvalian Army. They currently oppose Sigurd’s army.”
“Why is that?”
“I’ll explain everything, so please come out. I’ll put down my sword to prove that I am not your enemy.” Ayra detached her Brave Sword from her belt and set it down atop a rock.
“Alright. I’m coming out.” A female pirate appeared from the shadows of one of the boulders.
‘I knew it! She’s the same pirate I saw on that ship while traveling to Augustria!’ Ayra thought.
A man holding an axe followed behind her.
Once Brigid was close to Ayra, she was surprised to see that Brigid looked exactly like Aideen. But she paid that no mind, and explained everything that had happened, from the attack on Darna to Sigurd’s army’s capture of Orgahill Castle. “When Prince Sigurd heard about you from your crew, he knew right away that he wanted you to join his army. You can trust him. Please meet with him at least once.”
“I believe you, Princess Ayra, but people often use others as a part of their tricks. They send out an honest person, use that person to gain their target’s trust, then suddenly capture their target. Many pirate captains have lost their lives that way.”
“But Sigurd was understanding, even when he first met my nephew…”
“It’s fine. I didn’t tell you I wouldn’t comply. You’ve piqued my curiosity, so I’ll go. Is that okay? Even if something happens, I won’t hold a grudge against you. Just don’t panic if something bad happens. I was thinking about scrubbing myself clean of the pirate life soon anyway.”
-
Ayra led Brigid and Bailey quickly back down to the castle. When Sigurd heard word of their arrival, he went down to the entrance of the main building and greeted them.
Brigid’s similarities to Aideen also shocked Sigurd, so much so that he couldn’t speak for a moment.
“What are you so surprised about? Is my face that strange to you?”
“No, it isn’t. Please excuse my rudeness. I am Prince Sigurd of Chalphy. I’m happy you’re safe, Brigid.”
“So you’re Sigurd, huh? I believed what Ayra told me, so I came here. I’m more than ready. If you’re going to kill me, then hurry up and do it already.”
“Huh? This is all a misunderstanding. You may be a pirate, but you assure that the seas are safe to travel, so you haven’t done anything wrong, right?’
“That’s how I’ve always led my crew. But they mutinied. If you’re going to punish me for their crimes, then I’ll accept it. I only ask you to spare Bailey, the man who came with me.”
“No, I want you to lend me your strength! Will you join my army? I’m sure Ayra told you the details. To be honest, we’re in a really difficult spot right now. I won’t force you to do anything. But before you go anywhere, I want you to see what it’s like in our army. If you like it, then please join us.”
“Would they welcome a pirate captain like me?”
“Yes, they’d love to have you.”
‘What a strange man.’ Brigid thought.
But it wasn’t a bad thing. Plus, she was curious to see what kind of people Sigurd had with him.
They went to the coast, and Brigid crossed paths with her old crew. They all seemed to be happily working. In the blink of an eye, Sigurd had changed them completely. Brigid wondered just what this power of his was.
Then, they crossed paths with an arch knight, who called out to Brigid, “Lady Aideen!”
But after he said that, he made a strange face.
“What was that about? I don’t know you.”
“So you aren’t Lady Aideen… But that would mean…”
“You’re weird. What are you mumbling about?”
“What is your name?”
“Brigid. And you?”
“Brigid… What a beautiful woman you are…”
“W-Why would you say that when you haven’t even told me your name yet? If you’re making fun of me, then I won’t allow it.”
“Oh, excuse me. I apologize. My name is Midir. I was previously a knight of Jungby. It’s nice to meet you!”
“So your name is Midir, huh? I’ll remember that. I’m leaving now, so… bye…”
He didn’t say anything, so Brigid walked away.
He was in a trance as he watched her walk away. “I can’t believe it… she’s even more beautiful than her…”
-
After circling the coast, Brigid returned to the castle.
When the gate raised before her, she saw a woman holding a bow and running towards her.
It was Aideen.
Aideen had heard about Brigid from Sigurd, and rushed out of the castle in a panic. She had the same name, the same face, and could wield a bow - all the signs pointed to this woman being her lost twin sister.
And the moment Aideen saw Brigid, she knew it was true. “It’s you… it really is you, my sister! My twin sister Brigid! It’s me, Aideen! Please, you must remember me!”
Brigid was shocked to see someone with the same face as her. “Aideen… Aideen...” As she repeated the name, she was more and more sure that she’d heard it before.
“I’m your younger twin! Father took us on his pilgrimage to the Bragi Tower when we were four. We quickly got bored inside of the tower, so we went out to the beach. You were a brave tomboy, so you climbed aboard a small boat on shore. Then, when the tide came in, you were washed away into the sea! I didn’t know what to do, so I just panicked. When father finally noticed we were missing and called for us, neither of us could see the boat anymore.”
“Of course! Then, as I was told, the captain found me on the boat, and took me in!”
“Yes! Everything matches up perfectly! And you have a mark on the back of your right hand too, don’t you?”
“Now that you mention it, yes, I do! It appeared suddenly when I was fifteen!” Brigid said, and showed the back of her hand to Aideen. On it was a blue triangular mark that looked like an arrowhead.
“This is all the proof we need! That is the Holy Mark that appears on all of Crusader Ulir’s successors. And this is his bow, Yewfelle. Please see if you can draw the string.”
When Aideen handed the bow over to her, Brigid could tell that it was indeed very powerful. She’d never seen a bow so beautiful in all of her life.
She took it in her hands and tried to draw the string. In that moment, she felt power flow through her veins. “Th-This is… such a strange power…” Her chest became warm, and all of her memories came flooding back to her.
She remembered the form of her younger sister, crying and screaming her name from the shore… and how that sister became more and more distant as she drifted away...
“I remember you! Aideen! You’re Aideen, my sister!”
-
The next day, the Grannvalian Army’s vanguard reached Madino.
While that unit was small, the next day, a large unit of cavalry arrived, and three days later, an infantry unit made it to Madino.
According to Erinys’ report, the Grannvalian Army was obtaining boats from the coastal towns.
Sigurd held a meeting to discuss what they would do next.
“At the very least, if the Grannvalian Army is coming with rowboats and fishing boats, then that’s not a problem, because we have three pirate ships. But they might also send a proper navy. I don’t think we’ll have a chance against war ships. We still have a lot of time before that would happen, but I think we should consider now what we’d do once it did happen.” Oifey started the meeting off by explaining the situation, as he usually did.
“So what do you think, Oifey?”
“No good ideas have come to me.”
“Are we really stuck in such a bad situation that even our prodigy strategist can’t come up with any ideas?” Lex asked.
“All I can think of, is to get everyone on the ships and out of Orgahill before the Grannvalian Army shows up…”
“So are you saying we’ll become pirates, then? Great idea!” Lewyn said, then burst out laughing. About half of the other people in the room joined in.
Just then, a soldier burst in and announced that a messenger had arrived, sent by Queen Rahna of Silesse.
He then guided the messenger into the room, who was none other than Erinys’ elder sister.
“Prince Sigurd, my name is Mahnya. I am a knight of Silesse. I have come on Queen Rahna’s behalf to deliver a message to you.”
“Thank you for coming all this way. Please tell me what it is immediately.”
“Yes, sir. Queen Rahna wishes to say that you and your army may retreat from Madino and wait in Silesse until your name is cleared.”
The proposal was so close to Oifey’s desperate measure, that it caused a small commotion to break out in the room.
“Queen Rahna of Silesse wants to help me, a man who’s been betrayed by his own country?”
“That is correct. She would be happy to have you. Silesse is not only a remote country, but a nation that has never once allowed another country to invade since it was founded. You will be safe.”
“I see. So what do you think, everyone?”
Everyone he asked agreed to the proposal.
The last person he had to talk to was Lewyn.
“Silesse is my home country, so I’ll refrain from giving an opinion. But every country is the same, really. They have their good and bad points. Silesse has cold winters, for example. But if I had to pick between becoming a pirate and going to Silesse, I would pick Silesse, no question.” Lewyn’s words settled the issue.
The next day, Sigurd’s army divided into three groups, boarded the pirate ships, and left Orgahill.
Mahnya and her unit of pegasus knights flew the skies above them and served as their guard on their journey.
