Reaching the festival arc in s4 made me notice two Very Important Things:

A) that powerloader is WEARING A SUIT- I noticed it in the manga but not in the anime how WHAT???? CLOTHES!!! CLOTHES FOR THE DIGGY MOLE MAN !!!!

And

B) that Ecto’s Costume apparently has Arm Holes???????? ARM HOLES?????? And also that he wears a watch over his hero costume- but arm holes……..

HELL YEAH this honestly made me really happy, its a really good manga! its joyful and the writing is superb and it explores complex human emotions and friendship and also... i love baseball

also consider watching the anime! it only adapts the first few matches but it somehow gets the ambience of a baseball match on a rainy day so perfectly that it still takes my breath away

BACKSTORY ; editor!reader starting talking to hamzah online after submitting her editing portfolio to the channel. before she ever met him in real life, she was incredibly down bad for him. never in her wildest dreams did she think she'd be picked to be the channel's main editor/videographer. her whole life has changed in the span of only a few months. she moved to toronto, and after her soon-to-be apartment flooded, hamzah takes her in. what starts as a 'temporary' arrangement, leads to the two becoming long-term roommates with no end in sight. hamzah's too obsessed with her. she's too obsessed with him. but neither of them can muster up the courage to make the first move.

PERSONA && INTERESTS ; editor!reader, though shy, will randomly fire comebacks at hamzah and martin when they're in the heat of a joke. she's incredibly funny, which is one of the reasons why she fits so well working for the channel. her humor is stupid and sometimes dark, always reflected in the way she edits the channel's videos. she loves cutesy, girly things and is constantly forcing hamzah to decorate their apartment in that way. he fights it, but can't say no to her. she likes to draw and animate silly things for merch promo's and even designs some of the merch !!! at first, she never wanted to be on camera. she was too shy, afraid if she'd get hate or just weird fans. after request upon request from the slushies to see her, she finally starts making little cameos, working up to being in full videos. many people choose her as their channel bias, making edits and fan art. she loves her job more than anything. getting to travel and make silly content with her best friends is so cool and she never takes it for granted !!

Long hair Macaque, my beloved-

No but srsly, one of my favourite designs is just long hair mac and in this au Mammy's figure is just mostly hair.

I was trying to recreate this screenshot:

Obviously there's some difference like I tend to draw a bit chibi (big heads) and I didn't want to make Mac's hair THAT voluminous-

I wanted to achieve sort of a gypsy vibe with these little skrimblos

AND THEN I FOUND THESE:

And I could NOT pass it up.

So yeah...

Oh! And I also gave the sparkly drip to their ears

I COULDN'T for the life of me figure out the hundred yard stare to match with Mac's sharp eyes (how I draw him) and not make it look goofy so I made them spoopy and glowing instead

I sadly don't have much to say about Bai He here since her black hair didn't leave that much room for shading in a darkened environment (I'm so sorry) And this piece was to show off Mac's design more anyway (I promise Bai He will get her spotlight)

(Also Bai He, nor Mk nor Macaque wears shoes. Wukong is the only one in the family who does and I find that funny)

But oh! The hair? Here comes the fun part

You see I WAS going to use black hair for this photo but i soon realised how much of a pain it was just to shade it (cause i couldn't) and I was just WISHING I could use his white fur instead

And then I realised....

The white fur could be his winter coat.

Some animal's shed their fur in the winter (I think some rabbits do) and grow a new coat, occasionally with a different colour.

Therefore I could make the white fur the winter coat and during the story, his fur could be black to show how much time has passed since Bai He last saw her Baba...

Mwuahahahahahhahahahaha I'm so evil

And why doesn't Bai He have white fur as well then? Well maybe she's just a different kind of monkey or perhaps it's just an age thing.

Funnily enough, when I showed this to my friend, she said he looked heavenly which is funny cause. As much as I love him, Macaque is a smug bastard and he knows it.

Like I know a lot of it was due to trauma BUT STILL

I just personally dislike how the fandom sometimes makes him seem like he could do no wrong and he is "uwu delicate babygirl that needs to be protected at all costs" when this boi is fockin FERAL man.

So despite taking a bit of a back seat in the main plot for this au, Macaque is still a smug bastard behind the scenes as much as he is a good dad

Somewhere in the void there is a video of 12 year old me and a friend doing our own version of pinof with whiskers drawn on our faces with eyeliner... No idea where it is though.

I was wearing a hoodie with ✨generic anime girls✨ on and an adventure time t-shirt (+ Doctor Who badges, Matt Smith specifically, just to tie the look together). Both of which were second-hand from an older kid I knew who was a cosplayer. I thought they were so cool because they cosplayed. One time they put me in a wig and did my make-up and I have never felt prettier.

Things like that remind me how much of a loser I have always been.

But also it's kind of adorable. Little me being so excited about things like that. Finding community in the things other people find cringe.

Feeling less alone when I was being bullied for being queer because of Dan's coming out video, 'Dan's queer so it's okay that I am'. Having a group of older cosplayers help me out when I was being catcalled in my CORALINE cosplay, most of which I'd never met before, brought together by blue wigs and funny stares from passers-by. Meeting a friend in year 7 because they overheard me talking about DDLC (a very age-appropriate game -_-), literally jumping down a flight of stairs to talk to me. Talking to the girl I sat next to in maths in year 8 about our mutual love of Danganronpa only to befriend each other properly 2 years later, Danganronpa now replaced by Ace Attorney.

The things I love are so deeply intertwined with the people I meet and the people I love. Intertwined with my identity.

Realistically, I probably need to learn to be less ashamed of the things I love. Of being, as I so graciously put it, a loser.

I would much rather be someone cringe than be so absorbed with self-hatred that I end up drowning in it.

Have the courage to exist and whatnot.

first off, who are these guys? skipp (the blonde-ish happy one), stone (the skrunkly emo boi), and vinnie (the pirate gremlin) are three hobos who do whatever they can to survive on the streets. pickpocketing, other kinds of theivery, murder, and general mischief. anything goes! the world theyre in is old-timey (@zeddyzi, the creator, has described it as walking into an antique shop). it was originally a comic on webtoon/tumblr, and now its getting an animated pilot sometimes! isnt that cool!?

so, do you like hobo children? the found family trope? little guys? amazing, unique art? funny characters? ramshackle has all of that and more!! so much more!

[Not most, all of them.] SC: Unlabeled he/him, started the polycule because he felt jealous that the two would only be lovey-dovey to each other. You can always find him hanging out with everyone else, holding ear muffs [him being eepy doesn't stop the hang outs.] Yellow: Pan they/she/he, started dating Blue and agreed to the polycule, cuz idk she thinks it's neat they get to have a connection like that. Always leaning their head on someone's chest, he likes the sound of a heartbeat. [Doesn't like doing that with SC though, cuz he doesn't have one.] Green: Gay they/he, second to join the polycule. Actually had crushes on both SC and Blue and thought it was cool the three were dating now. His rivalry with Yellow never left, he still thinks its funny to mess with her via being better at redstone. Usually wears their headphones, mostly on no sound so he can hear everyone better. Blue: Unlabeled any, started dating Yellow and asked SC to join [if he wanted to]. They usually tend the garden whenever the others leave her alone. [Definitely sneaks a munch or two of netherwart] Everyone HATES how obsessed she is over netherwart and just wants them to stop pls..... Dynamics:

Red x SC: Usually messes with him, with loud and other noises to wake him up. Likes hanging out with him, just sitting around and drawing.

Red x Yellow: Just likes listening to her ramble about nerd stuff even though they retain nothing from it.

Red x Green: Always wants to try and prank him more after "The Prank". Always fails though...

Red x Blue: They bond over farms and farm animals, they're probably the only one who mildly tolerates Blue's netherwart problem. They fish together a lot :3 I also think Red thinks of Blue closer than everyone else cuz of their shared interests.

SC x Red: Cuddles with them a lot, likes how their tail is really soft, despite never seeing them take care of it, not even once.

SC x Yellow: He kinda hates how they usually just use him for their science experiments. [Yellow probably did some surgery and research on his body]

SC x Green: Besties and dating?!?!?! Real?!?!?!

SC x Blue: [this was one of my first avm ships cuz uhhhhhhhhhhhh goofy]

Yellow x Red: Goes to him whenever they wanna rant about a new finding [URETHRA!!!!!] and maybe kinda uses their spawn eggs as test subjects when the others.. aren't exactly there.

Yellow x SC: Main labrat- I mean... subject, totally. Usually interrogates him and tests his body for certain things that he can do, but the others can't.

Yellow x Green: Likes being a big ol' nerd around them, they usually go on adventures, trying to learn more things about the world they live in. [Usually gets jealous of Green whenever Blue shows him affection so she just sneaks into Blue's lap whenever they feel like that]

Yellow x Blue: [my...... otp....] Got attached to her even when they were stuck in that website they came in, and they just like how he talks anyway.

Green x Red: Likes ruining every single plan they have and also likes to make fun of him for the shits and giggles.

Green x SC: they care each other

Green x Yellow: Really really likes messing with her because it's the cause of Yellow's cool ass inventions.

Blue x Red: Often just watches Red tend to their animals and watch how he takes care of em.. She finds it really adorable

General - I wanted to make another self-indulgent prompt list this year for OC-tober so I did :3 - If you do feel like following along, remember that your health, comfort and motivation come first! TOOK SO DAMN LONG SINCE I WANTED TO DRAW A STEP ONE REF OF EVE BUT ITS GONNA TAKE A MINUTE so here are the sketches,,, Anyways- gonna introduce the main two mcs/ocs you'll see here: Eve Cortez Williams and Aaliyah Dubious

Starting with Eve:

He's my Tamarack MC, but I figured since uh. all my art that was a given

He has a strained relationship with Qiu in step 1 but they become besties by step 2 and by step 3, they are like family to each other. If no one got Eve, Eve knows Qiu got them, amen 🙏

He comes out as transmasc by step 2, and by step 3 he gets top surgery and starts taking testosterone and firmly identifies as a butch lesbian

He's from the southern part of Miami, Florida. He's Golden Grove's residential florida man

He practices martial arts religiously, he's a big fan of Goku and Dragonball in general so he wants to be like his idol

His story deviates a bit from the OL2 generic mc story, he did have a dad! Opal and his dad wanted a kid but they both didn't want to get married and since the two of them were best friends, they decided to have a kid together (or well two but we'll talk about that later)

What's important to note from above is that his dad isn't around anymore because his father passed away a few months ago due to a car accident and Eve was hospitalized as a result

So by the time he's at Golden Grove, he's in anger stages of his grief and he doesn't want to be bothered. Which sucks cause hes neighbors with the two loudest kids on the block

Doesn't help he's a ESL speaker (English as a Second Language) and Golden Grove's population is majorly white so he has even harder of a time adjusting to it

He gets into fights in step 1... a Lot. Someone will look at him funny and they'll get punched in the face

He does adjust but he still doesn't like Golden Grove by step 3 but funnily enough, he moves away at the end of step 3 for treatment but moves back in step 4, crazy how that shit works huh

He has two emotional support bunnies; Bulma and Chi-Chi! He gets them in step 2, Qiu and Eve bond over them LMFAO

As for Aaliyah:

She's my Qiu MC, to the shocker of no one. Tamarack is also her best friend <3

Aaliyah is from New Orleans, Louisiana! She's full blooded Haitian and she has family in Haiti

She's also transfem! She passes for cis in step 1 thanks to hormone blockers and some makeup and then starts taking estrogen in step 2 and onwards

Her being black and transfemme is integral to her character and how she navigates around Golden Grove, she doesn't tell anyone she's trans until near the end of step 1. By step 3, the girl gang and Qiu knows shes trans

^^ That's because she had a very negative experience coming out to her community who previously loved her but flipped on her just as fast

So moving to Golden Grove was supposed to be a fresh start for her as herself but by that point she feels like she has to keep up her "cis-sona" lest she gets bullied again

She still gets bullied for other reasons in step 2 though (being a pretty black girl and the one person who has a crush on her is the most popular kid in school... its rough! 😭)

By step 4 though she is proud to call herself trans and will let people know!

She lovessss animals! And the animals love her back! She feeds them all the time and keeps animal food on her for that purpose when she goes to the park to read by herself, she got a flock of crows and stray cats that like to follow her

She has a cat named Kiki!!! Kiki loves everyone except Qiu though, Aaliyah doesnt know that though-

So Agustin being the one to talk to humans, is he sorta the expert on them is he asked questions about them?

What do the sirens do? What's their routine, guppies sometimes go to the groto daycare and most adults go hunting or defending the area. I'm just curious how the community runs or just what it's like lol. What do the madrigals family do everyday?

Also I never explained or said it but. Antonio, along with other guppies, really only like one human from the ship they encounter. You know Milo, from Atlantis. Yeah, the human is basically like that dude, a linguist. He can understand the guppies, to an extent, so they like him. The guppies simply tolerate the other humans. They can’t get close or. They will get bit 💀💀

And yes. I have yet to draw the other siren Madrigals shhhhhh

Agustín isn’t an expert, but he definitely knows a whole lot more than the others in the community. He often will debunk the things that just straight up aren’t true. He is bombarded by guppies and younger sirens on a daily basis. They’re always asking him questions about human, but he doesn’t mind. He thinks it’s funny how interested they are, seeing that he in no major way, is he against humans entirely.

As for the sirens???? I guess it depends on the family. Guppies do go to the daycare though. They actually sleep in there most of the time, they rarely are in their family cave to sleep, because of how small they are compared to grown sirens. They’re picked up n the morning, go back in the afternoon, then they can free roam, and then their parents usually drop them off at night. Hence why there are always the caretakers at the Grotto.

The adults, most of the time, are hunting for some kind of food. Defending surprisingly isn’t a major priority. That job is typically left to jellyfish, you know like box jellyfish, considering how close jellyfish and giant sirens have been for decades. Some adults are farming, but it’s not for like sea animals; it’s for those giant shells that are used for guppies. They’re cultured and selectively breaded specifically so they can be used for guppies. And it’s not just like clams, it’s oysters, mussels, any kind of shell like that. Humans actually try and find these farm, because sometimes, though it’s rare, giant pearls can form within the shells. Pearls mean nothing to giant sirens, they hold no particular value, so they’re kind of just put into the family’s treasury and they move on with their lives.

Madrigals is very similar to what they do in canon. Just going around helping whoever needs it. Gifts??? I never really decided if they were a thing, but I’m leaning towards no??? Honestly them helping around is enough, and since they’re underwater, a lot of the gifts serve no real useful purposes to giant sirens. They!re very capable, and have no need for anything special.

And no! They don’t have beef. It’s more like a friendly sibling rivalry. You know, play fighting, talking smack, stuff like that. Alma doesn’t really play favorites in this AU. So nothing driving them apart. Isabela was actually the one who carried Luisa and Mirabel around in their shells when they were little, so she’s quite close with Mirabel.
