Thoughts on Nagito x Mikan?

I always appreciated how Nagito was the only one that was patient with Mikan (sure it was only really one time but that's still better than everyone else). But I like to imagine during their time at Hope's Peak he stands up for her, even if it is in a quiet, unerving way...

On the other hand, them together would probably be chaos for each other. The combination of Nagito's unluckiness and Mikans clumsiness would probably mean they trip over each other more often than others. Nagito wouldn't mind at the start, but maybe after a while...

Whereas, Mikan would probably enjoy Nagito's unluckiness, since he would probably get hurt quite a bit, or at least need the most care, thus, he will always be dependant on Mikan to a degree...

...as long as she doesn't take it too far...

I love Kamukomanami but especially my very specific angst version of it where Chiaki misses Hajime with all her being and is struggling even being around Izuru because he’s not Hajime but used to be.

Izuru is in love with her but isn’t really Hajime so his perfect existence is suddenly not enough and he wants to change to be more like Hajime for her but he doesn’t know how anything than what he is and struggles with his humanity all because of a girl he doesn’t remember.

You dread this day every year… your birthday. Each year it just seems your family finds a new way to disappoint you. They’ve never done nothing big at least getting you a cake, but to just full on forget it, that shit hurt you. At least hoping for a happy birthday but instead you awoke to everyone doing their own thing not even acknowledging your presence. Just like they did everyday. Giving them the benefit of the doubt you waited in your room patiently for them to come see you. You waited and waited and waited till you checked you clock to see it was already night time. Surely they’re coming right? You thought that until you checked outside to see their car gone. The tears that you held in all day couldn’t be kept any longer. You know you meant nothing to them but for them to go this far hurt like hell. Not your family nor friends contacted you all day. That was until you checked your phone one final time to see a text message to come outside from none other then your boyfriend. Once you did you were shocked with how many bags of gifts he had. The only person that remembered truly had your heart.

In regards to Nagito not getting put in the system, I think it was mentioned that his luck allowed him to slip through the cracks.

Yeah that would make a lot of sense. Like somehow the fact that he lost his parents isn’t noted in his records. Though I still do wonder how he registered for school? I don’t know enough about the Japanese school system to be able to know if it would be possible for Nagito to apply for school on his own without a parent or housing institution needing to be present or fill out forms, but considering that usually you have to apply to certain schools I feel like someone had to be like “wait hold up…bro where are your parents?” at some point lol. Of course, if he’s an emancipated minor then he could technically register himself no? Kudos to Nagito for staying in school even though there would have been no one to tell him he needed to go. He could have decided to quit school altogether and just do whatever he wanted seeing as he had free range and money but this lil nerd was like “nah I’m going to class”. Good for him.
