A while ago I was looking at Jinger’s follow list (no idea why) and noticed she followed Kat Von D. I was mildly amused and then immediately forgot. But I just learned that KVD publicly converted to Christianity last October and has condemned witchcraft and the occult (also yoga and nature). She’s been blacking out all of her tattoos and moved to Indiana because the BLM movement in Los Angeles made her feel unsafe.

So I went down a bit of rabbit hole and now you all have to hear about it:

Kat was sent to the same boarding school as Paris Hilton when she was a teenager and describes it as incredibly traumatic.

Her current husband has faced controversy over his swastika tattoo and the fact that he maybe disowned his daughter after she “had sex” with some of his friends. The quotations are due to it being unclear if his daughter was over 18 when this occurred. He has stated that the event ruined his life and he went four years without seeing his daughter and when he did he told her that being married to Kat Von D is his good karma for surviving what she did to him.

So…. Yeah. That’s what she’s been up to.

I love Raph being the plus sized rep for this movie. Obviously Raph has always been the bulkiest in some iteration, but MM is visibly the widest of his brothers and he throws his weight around to use it to his advantage. Raph was a wider baby too! He held onto it!

I love especially how it’s never brought up. Not to make fun of him, not for laughs, not to make a statement, Raph is just bigger than his brothers in the movie and it changes literally nothing except for how he uses it to his advantage in a fight and I love that we can have that as a society.

I have bought a skirt and blouse before for $20 (my cheapest dress was $35), and tons of legwear/hair accessories for $20 and under so I don’t think it’s an impossible challenge for bigger pieces but an unlikely/difficult one. Still fun to see though! I think this should become a bigger thing

i fucking hate the people who translated the owl house into my native language.

like, my language is very gender and i already half expected something like this. this episode with raine came up and i was so fucking scared of what they'd do.

and then raine spoke and... okay. so they had a male voice actor. no more androgynous voice, mostly. okay. i can deal with that. that means nothing.

and then they went and used "male" pronouns

and i. i'm kinda hoping i misheard. i am so so so hoping i misheard.

like, they just went and misgendered raine, badly (and also turning their and eda's relationship hetero in the process like no she's bi! she likes nb folks too!)

and now all the kids who only watch it in my native tongue - they'll think they're a guy. but raine ISN'T a guy.

and like. i sort of expected this. i was afraid of it. but now i'm just... i'm so disappointed. there was FINALLY someone like me in media, and it's not a big deal, like raine's nonbinary, they use they/them pronouns, they're neither a guy nor a girl, THEY JUST EXIST AND EVERYONE IS FINE WITH IT!!

and they erased it. they just completely erased it. i don't know what i expected, but.... fuck them translators. FUCK them.

I rewatched the epilogue of WaD, and yeah, in one of the smooth animatons, her body was skinnier, which sucks because I like that scene :((((

but in the rest of the 4 minute ending, her body looked bigger than Luz's Amity's and Gus's and she looked big like usual, so hurray for that! I dislike that the crew was lazy on that because now people are gonna start making excuses and skinny washing her :/

Please feel free to ignore this ask because it may contain sensitive topic to some people. What's your opinion about trans James ? In most fanon works , both art and fics, it is Sirius who usually is headcanoned as one. I have not seen many works with trans James or him being gender fluid , etc . Do you think it is because the way his character is described in the books , which in all honesty is not much or is it because Sirius had been described as really handsome? It doesn't do anything with handsomeness, I know , but the fandom works strangely like that 🙊

so, my opinion on this is really just my usual for identity hcs--i personally dont care much for them. that's not to say they're bad (i've seen some beautifully done stuff) just that it hits too close to reality for my escapist ass.

i see where you're coming from with the sirius comparison, tho! i think partly it's also because sirius is just...more popular? james is a pretty niche character, i'd say, even within mwpp compared to the others, so just by virtue of numbers, trans james doesnt get so much attention.

(there's a part of me that also thinks its also bc so much of the queerness in fanfiction comes from. wanting representation rather than caring about writing a queer character. and that means there's no deeper engagement than outward aesthetics. which means no real transgression is taking place. so u have repackaged cishetero norms circulating. but what do i know about that)
