Diluc sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose tightly between his thumb and forefinger. He sometimes wondered how on earth they remained so close even after being separated for years. Many times, he was grateful. But times like these…

And with that Poe took a few steps back before leaping off the cliff and deploying her wind glider immediately afterwards. She never used it much in Sumeru and missed the rush of falling and having the wind in her hair. Even Diluc, from where he stood on the shore, could feel the joy radiating off of her and in turn, it infected him as well. His own smile made its appearance across his lips as he watched her take a deep dive before swooping back up.

As always, however, Barbatos loved his small tricks to push the two closer together. A gale of wind quickly crashed into Poe causing her to yelp as she lost control of the left wing of her wind glider resulting in a tailspin towards the ground. In the instant he saw the fabric collapse Diluc leapt into action, moving so he was positioned in the exact spot her course was having her land in.

But without proper control there was no way for Poe to slow herself down and so she plummeted down, directly into Diluc who toppled over at the sheer force of her impact, the two falling to the ground in a tangle of messy limbs and tattered fabric.

Once the two finally came to a halt amongst the lush green grass they looked at each other before Poe ended up laughing at the absurdity of the situation. Diluc, on the other hand, was far more concerned with her well being.

“Are you hurt?”

Unable to break away from her fit of giggles, the woman shook her head to confirm the fact that she was fine. The young winery owner found himself finally breathing a sigh of relief. He brought a hand up to the back of her head, holding her close to where she rested on his chest. A soft chuckle rumbled in his chest as she craned her neck up to look at him. If she hadn't known any better she would've been surprised to see the warm smile painted on his handsome face.

“Thank you for catching me.” She pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek before rolling herself off of him, coming to rest at his side so she could gaze up at the clouds.

Gently taking his hand in hers, Diluc's carmine eyes trailed from her content face up to the same clouds she gaze at. Giving her hand a gentle squeeze he spoke the same words she'd heard from him since she came home.

“As I said before, I've broken my last promise to you.” Her body scooted closer so they could feel each other's warmth amongst the cool grass. He continued softly, a warm smile on his face.

“Keeping you safe is an easy promise to keep. Even if you make it difficult sometimes.”

Poe giggled as she shrugged her shoulders.

I'm a little worried about spoiling the upcoming chapter, so I'll share something new! 💖

This is an OC who sells her soul to Nora Jean. I'm not too sure if she will show up in the actual fic or not since she doesn't really serve any purpose for the story. DSaONPT already has a lot going on, and I'm worried including her would make the story too cluttered? I love the idea of her annoying Alastor to death though lmao. She may end up getting her own oneshot in the future, who knows. ┐(°ヮ°)┌ Anyway, here you go!

“What do you want to call yourself?” “Chaos.” The receptionist snorts. “What?” Rebecca demands, defensive. “What’s so funny?” “Nothing. It’s just a popular name.” "You’re lying,” Rebecca says. "Kid, we got over a thousand Sinners down here who decided to call themselves Chaos.” Well that won’t do. How will Rebecca stand out amongst this cesspool of sinners if she has a name just like everyone else? “Okay, what else is popular?” “For goth kids like you? Ebony, Sabrina, Bella, Shade, Shadow, Bloody Rose 666 ..." “Damn, okay. How about Nightshade?” "Pretty common too.” "Belladonna? Malice? Dark Angel of Woe?” "All taken.” Rebecca should have known better. She is now in a world full of like-minded folk who have all staked their claims on unique and menacing titles. She will have to think harder. Her eyes drift to an assortment of confiscated weapons behind the receptionist. A bloody bone saw sticks straight up from the pile. “Okay,” Rebecca says. “How about … Raven Bloodysaw.” The receptionist squints at her. “Raven is also pretty popular but … Bloodsaw is different.” "Oooh, I like that. Dropping the y! Bloodsaw.” Rebecca makes a wide sweeping gesture as though envisioning the name spread out before her big bold letters. “Strikes fear into your heart, right?” "Sure.” “Sweet. Maybe I should spell Raven with a y.” “No,” the receptionist says. “Okay, fine. How about we add a cool sounding middle name then?" Rebecca's middle name is Bernice which she hates more than anything. Seriously, what demon wants to bang a Bernice? "I've always liked the name Amethyst. Let's go with that."  The receptionist grunts and goes to write it down, but Rebecca immediately stops her. "WAIT!" she screeches. "It has to be spelled differently. We’ll spell A-Y-M-E-T-H-I-S-T!” A wide grin spreads across her face. “Unique, right?” “That’s one word for it.” “The other word you’re thinking of is sexy, isn’t it?”  A demon in the back pipes up. "Hurry up, you Edgar Allan Poe-wannabe. I got places to be!" A lightbulb goes off. "That's it!" Rebecca says.  "What's it?" the receptionist says. "Edgar Allan Poe. My new name is Raven, so I must honor him by adding him into my new title." A collective groan is heard from the line. "Fine," the receptionist says. "Your name shall be Raven Edgar Allan—" "No," Rebecca Who Is Now Called Raven says. "My name shall be... Raven Aymethist Evermore Bloodsaw." "Uh-huh," the receptionist says. "And you're sure that's what you want to be called for the rest of eternity?" "Hell yeah."

Hii!! (´｡• ᵕ •｡`) ♡ I just wanted to say how much I love your works! I remember a few months back when I first started really liking aeon, I found your works and immediately fell in love! It was some of the first fics I read of them. I remember thinking, omg this captures them so well. I still do! I'm excited to read your new fic, whenever you finish it! ♡

hello! and thank you!!! 🥹❤️ seeing this made my day a little brighter. i’m just as excited for this aeon fic to be done, despite how long it’s taking me, and i do hope the wait will be worth every chapter once it’s out. here’s what i can say about it so far:

- it’s shaping up to be about 30k+ words that span a single night in Los Angeles from Ada’s point of view.

- it is about my fav things, so: hauntings in every form, love and trauma and art and of course the nature of small talk, the undercurrents of brutality and tenderness that exist in Leon and Ada’s tense, complicated relationship. there are some minor characters at a mansion. awkward party chatter. gardens and secret passageways and one creepy stag that may not be as dead as it appears. and plenty of s-m-u-t. there is so much more than this too.

- any time i get stuck writing the fic, i’ll turn to the authors who inspired the ideas for it: Edgar Allan Poe, Brandon Taylor, Laura van den Berg, Edith Wharton, Henry James and Ocean Vuong. And lots of other media too. One of my goals is to make this feel like a cross between a Wong Kar-wai and David Lynch film.

- i will try my best to have the first chapter out in july or august!

- there will be artwork for every chapter 💕
