this is. um. a Jet Set Radio/Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Death joke AU, spawned out of a in-joke that started in a pokepasta discord. my apologies to both the pokepasta and jsr fandoms

the entire basis is the idea that Corn in Future retconned og JSR Beat as leader/founder of the GGs (is beat being leader in the og even CANON?) so Corn and Beat are the Myras. no it's not a joke funny enough to justify how many hours i sunk into drawing these. no attempt was made to change the setting, assign most of the other cast, or otherwise make this au hold up to ANY amount of scrutiny. if i tried to make this actually work somehow then i'd REALLY end up too far gone. also i keep calling myrtle!beat "Meat".

Pokemon/WarioWare crossover because why not throw yet another Anime Rewrite AU that I say I'll write a fic for and fully intend to but never do on the pile? (i have issues...)

Five years before the start of the series Delia and Ash find a girl around Ash's age with red eyes lost in a park who can't remember anything about herself except that her name is Ashley. Fallers are a bit more common in this timeline than others (though still pretty rare and not yet well understood) so when the authorities investigate they realize her situation pretty quickly...particularly how near-impossible it would be to get a 5-year-old who seems to be from a world without Pokemon (Fallers typically remember what Pokemon are and can name ones they're familiar with, so the fact that she only refers to them by general terms like "cat" or "bird" and is confused by a lot of their behavior is very telling). Delia, of course, agrees to take her in permanently after they break the news to her (she'd already been looking after Ashley during the investigation because of course she would).

So now Ash has a not-actually-a-twin sister. She still manages to become a witch-in-training since she's still got her massive potential for magic and witchcraft is canonically a thing in the Pokemon Anime. She even manages to summon Red and make him her familiar at seven. She's a bit more outgoing thanks to being raised in the Ketchum household instead of growing up more-or-less alone in that haunted mansion, but at her core she's still the grumpy little witch girl we know and love.

Anyway, she and Ash both plan on challenging the Indigo League, though they're going to travel together at least for their Kanto Journey (...yeah they're definitely gonna stick together even after that 'cause this is still meant to be a canon rewrite), partly because they know ahead of time about the Starter shortage and they figure that as long as at least one of them gets a Pokemon they can help the other catch something on Route 1 so they don't have to wait a month for a new set to be available (what, you really think Oak would've left them in the lurch for a whole year if the shortage had been real and not a Timeline Preservation Measure? though given how big a head start that would give the other trainers (particularly Gary) it still makes sense why 10-year-old Ash acted like it was the end of the world).

Of course, their alarm clock mysteriously breaks and they oversleep and end up with a Pikachu who hates them and an Eevee with absolutely no thoughts in its fluffy little head.

Anyway, things are mostly normal for a while aside from Ashley and Red being along for the ride, up until Power of One, where they encounter Wario. Apparently he ended up in the Pokemon World because he found some sort of magical artifact during one of his treasure hunts. Notably, he isn't Amnesiac like most Fallers, and he's not from the version of the Mushroom World that Ashley originally came from, as evidenced by him recognizing her on-sight even though she would've disappeared before ever meeting him. Anyway, he helps them beat Laurence III, then decides to claim the Hikokyu as spoils of war and fix it up to use as the local WarioWare HQ. So he's settling down in Shamouti for the time being.

Meanwhile, back in the Mushroom world, the WarioWare crew and the main Mario cast are trying to figure out what happened to Wario. They eventually manage to create a pipe that goes between Diamond City and Shamouti at some point midway through Johto...and find out that he ran off to Johto with Melody to challenge their League because he found out that Pokemon Battling, especially official League matches, gets you prize money, and he needed funds for replacement parts to get the Hikokyu up and running. So Mario, Peach, and about half the crew are off to fetch him. They don't finally catch up with him until the Alto Maire incident. Ashley's part of the search party, so she and the AU's main Ashley (and both Reds of course) end up meeting and it's a bit awkward at first. They end up going by Ashley K (for Ketchum of course) and Ashley M (for Mushroom, since she doesn't have a last name and Ashley W would be too clunky to say, plus she wouldn't be caught dead naming herself after Wario) for the sake of convenience (the Reds follow suit, of course).

I also have the idea of having the Hikokyu set up shop in Orre after it's been made skyworthy again and fully converted into a second game studio, then having the WarioWare crew stumble into and run roughshod over Gale of Darkness's plot with their own brand of glorious mayhem while just trying to introduce their games to the fresh new audience the Pokemon World provides.

All I really know for sure is that I have a lot of thoughts about pokemon's lore and plotlines. I want to try my hand at connecting stuff with a little more continuity because it's fun! There's no way I can get to everything because we'd be here all day, but I figured I'd set up the basic premise and include some fun notes/headcanons!

My general idea is focusing from the anime (up until Horizons) while also including more components from the games (such as more of the SWSH plot/rivals, Emma from XY's post game, Zinnia and the Delta Episode, etc). I also include a multitude of my own original characters, along with some of my friends' (most prominently @starkitters's goobers). Storylines are generally divided up by "sagas" based on the original generation they take place in! I may include some Horizons as it would coincide with ScaVio, but I need to catch up with that series (though from the looks of it it’s all pretty banger)!

This concept is definitely going to mostly get smaller things of art/comics/drabbles and whatnot rather than a full-fic/comic series or whatever because... oh gosh there's way too much. Also obviously not going to cover every single anime episode bit by bit because that would make me insane!!

As for a general timeline— a lot of this main stuff would kinda unfold in the span of 2-3 years? I might make it longer, but then again a lot can happen in even just a month, y’know? Generally, Ash would stay 10 between Indigo League-Advanced, 11 by DP-XYZ, and 12 during SuMo-Journeys. The Legends Arceus shenanigans would probably be during Journeys and the ScaVio stuff is definitely after (I'm thinking potentially a year or so after Journeys' saga would be wrapped up? Though it could even be immediately after idk).

There is. A ton of information even just in this little intro post, and a lot of it isn’t even fully concrete either. But if you find the time to read through it all, I’d really appreciate feedback!

General/Introductory Information

Earlier involvement from rivals/evil teams such as the Galar Rivals, N and Team Plasma, Team Skull, etc! All of that will be covered more in the respective sagas they all appear in, lol

I'm kind of on the fence for whether or not more player characters would be included? May, Dawn, and Serena are canon companions/major characters the anime, I'm including Brendan as Birch's son and Lucas as Dawn's twin brother, Akari and Rei are both going to be native to Hisui, etc.

So far, the mc roles that are taken up by OCs include my characters Lilac (involved in XYZ/SuMo but becomes a Swsh Gym Challenger), Stacy (Emmet's daughter, travels back to Hisui to find her missing Uncle), and Chrys (main Naranja student involved with Nemona, Arven, Penny, and also Kieran and Blueberry stuff). @starkitters's oc Arthur also kinda takes an mc role as Hop's bestie/neighbor and the two of them work with the knight-wolf duo (Zacian and Zamazenta) instead of Ash and Goh just kinda... feeling shoved in there. Ash and his Journeys buddies still get involved in the Darkest Day shenanigans, but another Gym challenger/Hop's bestie)

While characters like Red and Blue/Green aren't really going to be involved since Ash and Gary already kinda take up those roles, there is potential in making like... Ash's dad a Red-esque character? A character based on Leaf? We've also gotten cameos of Jimmy (Gold/Ethan) and Marina (Krys) from the old OVAs and Lyra is briefly seen during DP... but tbh we get so little on them it wouldn't be too difficult to make the OVAs an au or something? I'll have to play with all of it.

The Black and White/Best Wishes saga is going to get some major storyline reworks. Team Rocket (Jessie, James, Meowth, and Wobuffet, etc) aren't going to start actually doing evil shit/working directly with Giovanni out of nowhere. Rather, they get have their own route uncovering stuff about N and Team Plasma, which follows more of the storyline from BW1. Characters from BW2 like Colress and Hugh are definitely still going to appear and their deal won't really change too much, but I'll have to figure out their involvement (especially with Colress he’s got a lot of potential for his own stuff imo). Cheren and Bianca are in a "halfway" sorta period and acting as apprentices for Lenora and Juniper respectively.

I'm mostly going off of the Scarlet side of the ScaVio storyline, with Naranja Academy being in Mesagoza and Sada being the professor inside Area Zero. However, Uva Academy and Turo are also going to be involved! Essentially, Naranja is a school that focuses on helping its students figure out and prepare for careers connected with pokemon (trainers, coordinators, breeders, doctors/nurses, etc) in a more general sense. Uva Academy in Zapapico is primarily a research school (especially prominent for professors and scientists) while Blueberry in Unova specializes in professional battling (League Members, Battle Facilities, etc). Naranja provides courses and connections for careers Uva and Blueberry have niches in, but it's the difference between attending a more well-rounded school and attending a specialized one, if that makes sense.

Turo develops the Terastral Orbs used throughout the Paldea region, while Sada focused on Area Zero and develops the time machine that brings past and future Paradox Pokemon. Their relationship is super complicated and messy /pos. I don't think they ever got officially married, but they're 100% divorced in spirit.

Since the games kinda write Sada and Turo interchangeably (even outside of the whole AI deal) and they're described in the same ways besides pronouns and stuff, I want to make the professors a little more distinct from each other. Sada dives head-first into her passions and doesn't like anything or anyone holding her back, Turo is more conscientious but can come off a lot colder than he intends sometimes, etc.

I know most people hc the Subway twins (Ingo and Emmet), Elesa, Skyla, etc to be in like their late 20s/early 30s... but since I gave Emmet a daughter who's the mc of the Legends Arceus saga... they're actually gonna be slightly younger than Lusamine (around 38 or so) lmao. Let's get more nice and hot older adults up in here

Silver (Giovanni's son/Johto rival) is included! Since there's already a baby Lugia in the anime named Silver and that's just... too perfect, this rendition of the character is going to be named Sage (Yomogi in Japanese). I'm still figuring out his personality and stuff since Paul's whole "be the strongest/pokemon are just tools" thing was pulled from game!Silver, but I kinda want to play with Sage being a little more mellowed out by the time we would meet him in Johto Journeys? He acts as an assistant for Professor Elm, and is surprisingly great with raising pokemon despite the edgy tough-guy act he usually keeps up. He and Brock can nerd out about breeding and nuturing techniques and stuff.

An original team I made myself, Team Comet, acts as a foil of sorts to Team Flare. They’re fighting over (literal) life and death

I’m not entirely sure how to make this work, but I really want AZ’s ultimate weapon to be the (super buffed up) prototype of the healing machines used in pokemon centers. Like… the current machines extract infinity energy from deceased pokemon’s remains (such as ashes and stuff) instead of. Y’know. Draining living pokemon of that energy directly, causing them to die. AZ himself developed this practice as an attempt to redeem himself from all of the tragedy he caused in the name of his Floette. His full name is Azrael Jovalie… making him a pivotal ancestor to the Joy family.

Several large family-clans are the primary leaders of international organizations. The Joy family runs the pokemon centers and overall healthcare facilities, Jenny family runs the international and local police departments, the Jordan family are firefighters who provide aid and try to prevent natural disasters, etc (they may be involved with pokemon rangers? I’m not entirely sure). Others are obviously welcome to work in these forces as well, and members of these families aren’t (usually) forced into working the family business if they want to pursue other goals.

Obviously the anime has all the service-people look identical to safe on time and everything, but I think making unique designs and characters for the Joys, Jennys, etc is a fun concept! No matter their gender or ethnicity, almost every member of a poke-business family have hair and eye colors in the same spectrum. For example, almost every Joy has pink hair that’s styled in circular/drop shapes to some capacity, and blue eyes. Jennys have teal/turquoise hair in lightning shaped styles, and brown eyes. Jordans have charcoal black hair that looks like smoky wisps, and fiery orange/gold eyes.

Xerosic (creepy ass scientist dude who forces you to push a button and coaxes Emma into his expansion suit testing) was originally from Ultra Megalopolis. I’m not entirely sure how to connect him to all the Team Flare stuff??? Or even how exactly he ends up in Kalos but he was part of the Ultra Recon Squad and volunteered to travel to the “main” pokemon world for the to see where Necrozma might try to take all the light next. But when he actually shows up there, he just. Doesn’t care. He’s so fascinated by all of the different pokemon and how energy manifests in such different ways… All he wants to do is learn everything he can about it

Eternatus is an Ultra Beast! The ricochet from AZ’s Ultimate Weapon woke it up and caused the first darkest day.

Builing more from the Adventures manga, Galar was already starting to lose its energy, but the issue is actually going to be addressed far more openly. As Eternatus slept for thousands of years, its dynamax energy gradually dies down to the point where it can’t really be used as a proper resource— especially not to power so many of Galar’s communities. Rose definitely pushed a lot of the reliance of dynamax energy in recent history, but I’m certain Galar has relied on Eternatus for even longer. What makes Rose’s plan to wake Eternatus up again even more messed up (besides putting so many people and pokemon in danger), is that he’s essentially harvesting Eternatus of its energy: Wake it up to get the dynamax levels up again, (have Leon) catch it so it doesn’t go back to sleep… Rose sees the pokemon less as an actual creature and more like a walking power plant, definitely in part with how different Eternatus looks from “normal” pokemon.

The original Sun/Moon storyline with Lusamine and her kids happens first (Lusamine is a mix of the doting from the anime and her abuse from the games… she’s messy /pos). Then, around the time Ash and his friends meet Poipole, that’s when we’d meet the Ultra Recon squad and get into the Necrozma stuff.

Y’know Goh’s whole thing with wanting to catch Mew? How Jessie’s mom died in pursuit of Mew? And the eventual data she found was used for Mewtwo’s creation? Do you see how I’m connecting the dots?

Misc Information

Harley is one of Karen's cousins, making them both descendants of Sanqua (Galaxy Team's Construction Leader) and her little brother, Melli (Diamond Clan Warden of Coronet Highlands). Obviously... we can tell who took after who even after all these years, lmao. They also have a baby cousin (one of my ocs lol) named Jimson from Laverre City (Kalos) who is currently one of the Blueberry League Club's Biome Leaders! He specializes in psychic types... and is lowkey a chuunibyou (really commits to the wizard/witch act)

While Serena is in Hoenn, she meets Lisia and the two become girlfriends besties! They’re like twelve so idk if they’d actually do anything with their feelings but the mutual pining is very very apparent. Their ship name is Dreamshowshipping!

Chloe is highkey a lesbian. That’s just always how I’ve interpreted her??? She’s constantly shocked that Ash knows all of these cute girls. I think her and Iris eventually being a couple would be very cute. If Flowershipping isn’t taken, I shall call them that!

Because I am not immune to @yamujiburo’s propaganda of Hanamusashipping (Hiii Kiana if you’re reading through all of this I am so honored and so sorry it’s so much gjdhdhdhs), I love the idea that Jessie and James start a poly/ish thing with Delia!! By that I mean Delia and James are more so queerplatonic and Jessie is smooching both of them lmao. Ash’s step parents have been here the whole time yippee!!

Arven gets a harem to make up for all the trauma (/j but also not). He gets 2 boyfriends (Giacomo and Drayton) and a girlfriend (Copaia, my main Uva student character). They are all bisexual, bet u didn’t know that ;p

Carmen and Amarys are lesbians and girlfriends!! They’ve been dating for 2 years until the main events of the ScaVio saga

I’m not entirely sure what to do with Indigo League’s Elite 4 since it changes between Kanto and Johto?? Will and Karen are definitely well-known trainers (and possibly even coordinators?) in their own right, but idk if or when they would take Lorelai and Agatha’s places. They might become members around Journeys (since I’m treating that as a general 2 years since Indigo League), but that’s very much up in the air.

Xerosic straight up ditches his daughter (Zossie). Which. He was never that good of a parent anyways but.

Klara is the younger sister of Lacey’s mother (who I have as an oc), making her an aunt! She gave Lacey her Galarian slowpoke/slowbrow.

Lucy is Kieran and Carmine’s older cousin. I know the go-to is that she’s their mom but Lucy’s vibe is more around her early 20s or so to me.

Because I adore the concepts I’ve found from @critterbitter and their mutuals, Ingo and Emmet are Drayden’s nephews. Which makes Stacy and Drayton second cousins— there’s so much comedic potential there you have no idea. Keep in mind that Drayden is also paternal figure to Iris, and Hop and Leon are her cousins… the family tree gets real complicated real fast lmao

Pokemon Consequences Progress Update

Post No. 2: Rival(?) Battle and Early Route Encounters

Hello! I've been working on the project for a bit now and since my last post I've gotten two major things done.

1) I've created the first iteration of the first battle against Kieran! Kieran isn't technically a rival to the player character but you will battle him multiple times as the story progresses, so he fills that role. I say first iteration because I am not much of a teambuilder as evidenced by the fact someone reblogged my previous Dokukieran team and made it much better, so this team will most likely be reworked multiple times.

2) I created the encounter table for the early routes of the game. I have an encounter table for two reasons, a) it's much easier to create on Google Sheets, and b) the game is going to be 2d because I cannot create a 3d one.

Kieran Battle:

(remember, everything is subject to change!)

Firstly, I read through the first two chapters of the Toxic Consequences AU fanfic again and determined that the player would have their first battle with Kieran as he leaves Loyalty Plaza after losing to Florian and Juliana, so it takes place after he meets Dokutaro but before he gets chained. This means I had to create a worse version of the team he uses at Loyalty Plaza. I based my version of the team off of the one you would fight if you hadn't beaten the story of main SV because even if you had access to a couple routes by now and had beaten a couple trainers, this is still an early game boss fight.

The first step to do that was to get rid of his Cramorant. I think the fight would be easier and better if he only had four Pokemon, and as far as I'm aware he only uses the Cramorant in this fight and no others.

Another thing you may notice about his team is that all of their natures are neutral. I'm not naturing or IV-ing or EV-ing a fight this early in the game because, once again, it's an early-game boss fight.

First up, his Gligar. It has Arial Ace and Sand Tomb for S.T.A.B. (yes I know Sand Tomb is a bad move but that's the point!), and Swords Dance to get some attack boosts. That coupled with its ability Hyper Cutter, which prevents you from lowering its attack, means that if you leave it alone for long enough it can become a real threat (even if that is unlikely to happen). It has no held item (in fact, Dipplin is the only pokemon to have one) because, again, this is an early-game fight and I don't want the game to be too difficult... yet. :)

Next, Poliwhirl. I gave it Low Kick for coverage, and for it's water move I chose to give it Weather Ball. Okay hear me out on this one- the attack uses Poliwhirl's special attack stat which is pretty bad in comparison to it's physical attack. The point of this move, though, is that it pairs well with Rain Dance. When rain is active, Weather Ball becomes a water-type move and doubles to 100 base power. Because of the rain, water-type attacks get boosted AND Poliwhirl gets water S.T.A.B., which when combined with Poliwhirl's ability Swift Swim doubling its speed in rain should make it output decent damage for this point in the game... hopefully.

Then, Yanma. As opposed to Kieran's first two Pokemon which have three moves, Yanma and Dipplin both get four. I first gave it Struggle Bug and Air Cutter for S.T.A.B., and I then gave it U-Turn as a pivot. You may be thinking, "What's the point if Yanma is sent out second-to-last?" The point is that Yanma won't always be sent second to last. How this game will work is that trainers will ALWAYS send out their lead first and ALWAYS send out their ace last, but what comes in-between is determined by which Pokemon is best against your current Pokemon, and U-turn allows Yanma to switch into Poliwhirl to take an attack that Yanma could not. Finally, I gave it Tailwind to make the team faster, which it kind of needs, especially Dipplin.

Speaking of Dipplin, that's the last member of his team! I decided to make Dipplin Kieran's ace instead of Poliwhirl because it's always bothered me that it's not his ace in a couple of battles despite Hydrapple becoming his ace in the Indigo Disk. (I don't know, I just like things to be consistent.) First off, I gave it Syrup Bomb and Dragon Breath for S.T.A.B., then Bug Bite for coverage. Finally, I gave it Recover. The interesting part is Dipplin's ability. Kieran's Dipplin usually has Supersweet Syrup, but I decided to give it Gluttony. This is because of Dipplin's item, the Pataya berry, which normally increases your special attack upon reaching 1/4 health. With Gluttony, however, this special attack boost instead occurs at 1/2 health, meaning if you don't take it out quickly because of Dipplin's high defense (did anyone else think the line's special defense would be higher? just me? okay), it gets a special attack boost and becomes the only real threat on the team.

Speaking of, should this game be double battles or single battles? Either way there will be a couple of the other option but which should be the prominent encounter type? I'm leaning towards double because I prefer it over singles and it gives me the opportunity to create more devious strategies, but what do you think? As always, your choice WILL influence the game.

Encounters:

The important thing I considered when creating the encounters here is getting through the harder members of Kieran's team, notably Poliwhirl and Dipplin. That being said, here are the encounters:

I've created the encounter tables for Kitakami Road, Apple Hills, and Reveler's Road. I've decided to do this because for progression reasons Kitakami hall will be the furthest in the game you can reach before defeating Kieran.

Kitakami Road

Just like in real SV, the only three encounters here are Wooper, Yanma, and Spinarak at night. (yes I know this has some differences to regular SV because Spinarak can be found during the day and other mons can spawn here rarely but for the first point it adds variety and for the second it makes it easier for me, okay?)

Apple Hills

This is where the encounter tables get interesting. Just like regular SV, you can find Applin here all the time and Starly during the day. (I know Starly only spawns during the day because I tried to shiny hunt it and it was a pain :[ ) You can also find Spinarak here at nighttime and Volbeat and Illumise rarely. Fun fact: Volbeat and Illumise can spawn in both versions, but Volbeat spawns more commonly in Scarlet and Illumise in Violet. They're like pseudo-version exclusives, which is what gave me the idea for the day-night exclusivity. The notable encounter here is Psyduck, whose Cloud Nine ability makes it a great counter to Poliwhirl. (I know Psyduck is not in the Kitakami dex but I'm adding it and multiple others because a) variety and b) Sneasler and Runerigus were both in the Dokukieran team so it's not off-limits.)

Reveler's Road

Firstly, Vulpix and Growlithe spawn here as day-night exclusives. Apparnently Growlithe doesn't actually spawn here but it's in the dex and I could have sworn it did so I'm keeping it. Toedscool and Poltchageist also spawn here just as they do in game, with Poltchageist appearing both at day and night because in regular SV Poltchageist does spawn at all times of day but more commonly at sunset and night. Noibat also appears as a rare spawn at night only because a) It has to be rare because Noivern is really good, and b) the Noibat line's whole thing is using echolocation to fly around in the dark so it's fitting as a night-only encounter. The notable encounter here, however, is Sneasel. It's a fast and decently-hard-hitting ice types making it practically the only good counter to Dipplin while also not being too good for this point in the game due to its BST. (I wanted the fight to be decently hard if you're not prepared but have good counters because I also want the game to be a hard nuzlocke because that's the only way I'm good at romhacking/making fangames /hj.)

Conclusion:

Wow, that was a long progress update. Everything here is subject to change, so expect me to come back to this later, but for now, I'm pretty happy with how both of today's topics came out. These updates are probably going to be daily but I might miss a couple of days because I want to actually get something done inbetween updates. For now though,

mascot notes (i used precure mascots and jewelpets [sanrio supports genocide which i shouldnt have 2 explain Why That's Bad, but im simply using them references for if/when i draw or design them] for references. maybe i'll add pokemon like fennekin or buneary later)

lifty and shifty share a mascot and are a duo at the start because theyre together when they meet the mascot - maybe other characters will also share a mascot and be a team at the start but i've only really thought about the mains. i also didn't want to use the same animal as their htf counterpart so i kinda started winging it

so far...

lifty and shifty's mascot will be a fox, bc foxes are often associated with slyness and cunningness. au where they're tom nook and redd's adoptive sons and after their dad's divorced- i'm joking i'm joking. i've contemplated naming him lucky, but who knows if i'll stick with that. dont have any real personality notes though, but obviously he's willing to bribe them.

splendid's mascot will be a dog. specifically a dig with longer floppy ears. i dont know why, but him with a puppy resonated with me i also really miss my beloved hershey, and just having a pet in general. while they dont have a name or a gender yet, i'm imaging them to be a very loyal type who cheers everyone on and, when there's no fighting evil to be done, loves to play. if i go the high school route (or maybe even college route...) they are vety bad about accidentally causing disruptions and everything thinks that the stress of being a model student is making splendid lose his mind.

with splendont and flippy, i just chose animals i liked and are popular for cute magical animal characters. splendont is getting a kitty. personality-wise i'm not sure what i'll go for. maybe a stubborn and impulsive type that tends to push his buttons. or a graceful and calculated cat that is stoic and cold at first but shows a true warm heart as they grow close to others. the forner would have a lot of arguing, the latter would let them both bond over being similar, as well as let splendont show a slightly less confident kitty that they are worthy and kind despite taking time to warm up to others, that they aren't alone.

for flippy i chose a bunny bc i like bnunies. hippity hoppity. this bunny i think would be the most gentle, caring sweetheart ever - but if you hurt their fruends, they'll stop at nothing to get revenge. maybe a sad backstory with a friend dying due to the big bad, and wanting to help to stop the villains as an act of revenge, despite knowing it wont bring back their friend. thus would strengthen flippy's resolve as a hero - fliqpy was the one that wanted to do it for the most part, and flippy was nervous about it (canonically he Did join the army [though he probably wouldn't have in this au] but i think weird magical shenanigans are a lil more concerning bc a talking rabbit comes out of nowhere and tells you to magically transform and fight monsters, and while you do want to help and save people and fight for whats right, this weird magical business is weird and comcerning) especially because bunny seems so sweet and kind. fliqpy thinks revenge seeking is cool and as long as he gets to keep beating up monsters, he'll help bunny avenge their friend.

next i gotta think of transformation trinkets... probably a watch like the yes precure 5 bc im basic. (im not a yes 5 fan but. i read what happened at the end otona precure and 🫤 i. i uh dont like that. at least i didnt get invested, like the devil is a part timer... but i'll stop rambling about uncomfy endings. this a blog for the 'cute animals die gruesomely every episode' show)

LEGEND OF ZELDA FAQ: As the one timeline AU as I’ve named it has gained a fair amount of popularity heres a few questions I’ve been asked about it

What is the 1tau?: The 1Tau (One timeline AU) Is a legend of Zelda alternate universe I made where the timeline of the Zelda universe has been molded to fit into one line instead of the branching routes of canon. It’s also a Links Meet AU because those are cool!

Where can I read it?: Unfortunately this is the only place you’ll find material for this Au, FOR NOW AT LEAST! I have been known to dabble in fanfiction so it’s not out of the question some stories might pop up.

Fic question! Which one of Touka and Nemu is more likely to derail your plot? (I know together is probably the worst, so who contributes the most after that)

Oh boy! Lovely question thank you, let me just elaborate for you. So as you said, together is peak plot derailment, but besides that, the one who makes it impossible to have something normal and simple is Touka, but only if Nemu is there. Also Nemu's role is often just, riling Touka up which then causes the plot derailment. But let me go longfic by longfic, outlines included. There will be some level of spoilers for all of them, though I'll try to keep them mild or vague enough, so I'll put it under a read more just in case:

Ascent of the Fourth Beast (130.4k): This was supposed to be a fun little pokemon crossover, following the story of the Black & White games with only a little adjustment, such as Touka being Professor Juniper's assistant instead of just a normal kid and Nemu being well N (for obvious reasons I think). Needless to say, that did not happen! They got tangled up in a whole mess and then TOUKA threw a curveball at me, the curveball being "oh you know how I'm actually from Johto (because I have a Japanese name and it'd be weird for me to be in the US-based region with a Japanese name)? Well actually I died when I was 11 and got juiced up by a god and so now I have to deal with a second puberty and all that it entails and also I want to roast Nemu's father over an open flame" (this is completely valid considering she's talking about Ghetsis and as we know Ghetsis is the scum of the earth).

Pragma (18.8k): This is the ONLY "longfic" that was actually normal, and the only reason Touka did not yeet it off the rails was because I struggled very hard to end her necromancy arc early and did not want this to be any bigger. I wanted it to be an exploration of grief and mourning and also Nemu really didn't want her to go down that route or the meguca wish route. Luckily we managed to keep it self-contained! It is the only time I have succeeded in that regard.

Cage of Briars (wip): This was supposed to follow the plot of Ib, but then the lesbians lesbian'd and suddenly it's way longer than it was supposed to be. Plus I have a chapter that goes before the main plot so I can introduce the changes to the cast and then two more chapters after the supposed end of the game in order to tie up loose ends. However, the worst part is most definitely the lesbians unnecessarily lesbianing. Literally, please explain to me why the ball was necessary. And so on and so forth.

Roadkill AU: THE WORST EXAMPLE. Mad scientist Touka is like the worst possible idea anyone could have ever had. If you thought she was intense in Cage of Briars, you have NOT met motherfucking roadkill!Touka. I cannot even begin to explain the extent of her insanity in this AU, and almost literally everything in it is her fault. It was supposed to be a horror/mystery thing that would end once the mystery behind Tasuke and Nayuta's untimely demises was solved, and that is not what it became. She has zero excuses too because she is a whole ass 29 years old in this one, she's just Like That. To give you an idea, though I think I've mentioned it before, in the very first chapter she finds a wounded dirty naked woman in her property during a stormy night and first kicks her to see if she's alive, and upon hearing a grunt in response, she tells Ui to put her in a sack and stuff her in the trunk of the car, then gets to the mansion and chains her in an observation room in the basement. As far as she knows this is just some homeless person that snuck into her property. You can probably tell this is already unhinged behavior but she gets EXPONENTIALLY WORSE as the chapters go on. Sure it's not like Nemu's attitude is doing anything but encouraging her, but solely because of Touka's shenanigans in this AU, this fic might even cross into explicit territory (more for the graphic depictions of violence than anything else though, the cannibalism will likely be, considerably graphic, but also please do not underestimate roadkill!Touka because she is fully capable of putting in some wildly nsfw scenes that are not quite smut but still "??????????" in nature).

Fairy AU: This one, hopefully, will remain relatively self-contained, but I do not really trust the shenanigan potential that a Stardew Valley-esque farm setting combined with the Satomi cousins has, particularly considering Touka is 100% going to be drooling for several chapters at minimum. Plus of course detective shenanigans with the Rabi subplot and whatever Nemu is hiding and the fairy hunters that Touka thinks are lunatics, then Touka's secret that of course she has, the human experiments subplot, the Mikoto plot... Somehow I feel like Touka's shenanigans, drooling, and investigations are going to take up way more words than they're supposed to and she will get immensely distracted from the very simple premise of "dethrone the Fairy Queen (Mikoto)".

Teacher AU: This one is super grounded and has zero magical elements, however Touka's trauma in this is Very Very Intense and highly tied to relationships which will cause more friction than ever with Nemu, plus there's a child in the midst. To sum it up, Touka is an elementary school teacher (yes, elementary, there is a very important reason why she's an elementary school teacher), Sakurako is an 11 year old adopted child with a single mother. Sakurako thinks her mom is very very lonely and that she'd get along with her favorite teacher, thus tries to set them up not knowing that Touka has Very Very Intense trauma that will cause issues later down the line, ft. emotional support Ui. I expect this one to get derailed less because of Unhinged Touka BehaviorTM and more because of the sheer trauma this girl is packing in this AU, she will be avoiding a lot of things very hard.

The beautiful thing about picking pokemon in this AU is sometimes ill pick them for one thing and then find out info later that makes it even better

Like with Dazai taking in Oda's Eevee. Dazai doesn't see the need to evolve his pokemon and even uses it as an advantage but he evolves Eevee into an Espeon which requires a Dawn Stone and high friendship.

Then there's Sigma whom I gave a Trapinch/ Vibrava. He wakes up in the dessert so I thought i should give him a pokemon found in that terrain.

In my experience, I saw Trapinch and thought what cute lil guy but generally thought of them as okay and didnt realize all the ground/dragon Flygons came from them.

So. For Sigma akhdkska. Give him the ant pokemon that turns into a dragon type.

He has the second evolution which is Vibrava. Later on i checked the pokedex entry and...

Okay???? Whatever???? Just. Use it as inspiration for your resonance gun i guess??

Cactusverse Hoenn Timeline: Delta Emerald Part 1

Alright so it's time to talk about Hoenn in Cactusverse. I like to call Cactusverse Hoenn Delta Emerald because the main plot follows Emerald but Cactusverse is a mega-timeline AU so we're going to see Zinnia and her shenanigans.

So, the events of Hoenn take place a few months later than the Kanto events with Norman finally getting a job as the Petalburg City gym leader and moving his wife and young son Brendan to Hoenn. Brendan like many children is very interested in receiving his first Pokemon but he's not quite sure he wants to do the gyms just yet.

Honestly, Brendan is a little upset with his father at the moment because he's rarely around and so much of the past two years in Johto have been about Norman trying to pass a gym leader's test to the point that Brendan couldn't even get a starter Pokemon from Professor Elm (he really wanted a Cyndaquil).

After Brendan and his mom move into Littleroot town (with no help from Norman because he's too busy doing interviews) Brendan decides to explore his new home for a bit when he hears someone screaming on the route just above. He quickly runs out there to find one Professor Birch, covered in scratches being chased by a Zigzagoon. Professor Birch begs Brendan to help him out and Brendan quickly runs to the bag Birch dropped to fetch a Pokemon, Brendan immediately chooses Treecko and quickly defeats the Zigzagoon. He goes to check on Professor Birch who thanks him-

Only to be attacked by a girl his age! It's May Birch who was a little farther up the route doing fieldwork for her father and heard him cry out. She had mistakenly thought Brendan had stolen one of her father's Pokemon and proceeded to beat him up with it. May immediately challenges Brendan to a Pokemon battle where she rather soundly defeats Brendan with her Torchic before Birch could catch his bearings and clear up the misunderstanding. Once May hears the truth, she gets a bit embarrassed and backs down.

The next day Brendan ends up going to Birch's lab where Birch asks if Brendan wants to keep the Treecko which Brendan says he does. Birch mentions that May wanted to make up for what happened the day before and asked to meet Brendan on Route 103. With that, Brendan officially sets out on his journey. He ends up going to Route 103 where May apologizes for the misunderstanding and asks for a proper battle. This time Brendan comes out victorious. 

It's then that May proposes a challenge: see if they can complete the Hoenn gym challenge in 90 days (to mimic how Galar's gym challenge occurs over 90 days). Brendan accepts the challenge and the two go their separate ways. Brendan heads on to Petalburg while May finishes up some fieldwork for her father.

Brendan rushes to Petalburg and tries to challenge his father, who declines saying he's too inexperienced and needs at least four badges before challenging him. This hurts Brendan’s but he takes his father's suggestion to go to Rustboro and runs out before Norman can tell him that there's a young boy that he wanted Brendan to meet...

It just so happens that by the time the young boy, Wally, came by the gym to get his first Pokemon, May had just arrived at the gym also looking for a badge. Norman asks May to help Wally catch a Pokemon since he realized that May was Birch's daughter. Wally and May head out to catch Wally's Ralts and return to Petalburg. May then attempts to challenge Norman to a battle and is also declined due to her lack of experience.

While May was helping Wally, Brendan had made it to the Petalburg Woods. He ran into a Devon Corp scientist being harassed by a Team Aqua grunt. Brendan protects the Devon Corp scientist and is thanked profusely before exiting while being watched by a red-eyed Team Magma grunt who had been watching the confrontation while hidden from the trees.

Brendan rushes to Rustboro. Still feeling a bit bitter about his father declining his challenge, Brendan decides to not let it get to him too much. He decides to slow down a bit and brush up on his basics at the school in Rustboro. This allows for time for May to catch up to Brendan in Rustboro. They both soon challenge Roxanne and earn their first badges. After claiming the badge they witness a Team Aqua grunt running out of Devon Corp with the poor scientist begging the two children to help. Along the way the children run into Mr. Briney who says his dear Peeko has been kidnapped as well. The kids end up following the grunts into Rusturf Tunnel and defeating the grunts, getting the parts and Peeko back. Mr. Briney and the scientist are very thankful for May and Brendan saving the day with the scientist asking the two children to come meet Mr. Stone himself. Mr. Briney tells the two that any time they need to travel between Petalburg, Dewford and Slateport he’s willing to take them. The two kids meet the CEO of Devon Corp who asks them for yet another favor, to send a letter to his son, Steven. May decides to take the letter as Brendan is in a bit of a rush to get the next gym badge. May and Brendan set sail on Mr. Briney’s ship to Dewford town where May goes off to Granite Cave to find Steven while Brendan sets off to challenge Brawly. Brendan defeats Brawly in short order and then asks Mr. Briney to take him to Slateport. Before Brendan can even make it out of Slateport he is scouted by Lisia to participate in one of Hoenn’s contests. At first Brendan protests but he ends up competing and winning his first contest ribbon. During the competition Brendan finds that he not only has a knack for contests but that he enjoyed it a lot. A lot more than his past two matches with Roxanne and Brawly… Back in Granite Cave, May runs into a bit of a trouble due to it being too dark to see. She realizes she’ll need the HM Flash to navigate so she doubles back out of the cave to challenge Brawly and she wins her second badge. Now that she has the second badge and the ability to use Flash, it’s a lot easier for her to navigate Granite Cave and she eventually ends up finding Steven Stone who is looking at a massive mural in the cave. She introduces herself as the daughter of Professor Birch and hands Steven Stone the letter.  After delivering the letter, May decides to catch up to Brendan by heading to Slateport. However, before she can catch up to him…she really wanted to go check out the Slateport museum. But when she gets there she realizes the museum had been overrun by Team Aqua members. Determined to just enjoy the museum May decides to rush in to get rid of Team Aqua. She eventually runs into Archie (his ORAS version) and he calls for a retreat while warning May to not interfere further as he may not be so lenient afterwards. May gets a chance to enjoy the museum before heading up to Mauville City.

As she heads for Mauville City she runs into Brendan who seems to be in contemplation. The two children battle with May coming out victorious. Brendan reveals that he had participated in the Slateport Contest and how much he enjoyed it. So much so that’s he’s wondering if he should quit the 90-day challenge and focus on contests instead. May suggest he try some more contests in Verdanturf and Fallarbor Town and that they can adjust the rules so that its whoever gets 5 contest ribbons or 8 gym badges fist wins. May also admits to having similar feelings. In that she’s been really enjoying battling at gyms to the point she really hasn’t been keeping up with doing fieldwork for her dad. Brendan and May head out to Mauville City where they run into Wally!

Brendan and Wally finally get to meet as May introduces them to each other. However things become a bit tense as Wally’s uncle seems to be a bit reluctant to give the okay for Wally to go on a journey due to his asthma. In a bid to prove himself Wally challenges both May and Brendan to a battle…and loses spectacularly. However his determination gets through to his uncle and he relents on bit on being so overprotective.

May decides to go ahead and challenge Wattson for the badge while Brendan decides to follow Wally to Verdanturf to challenge the next contest, getting a chance to bond with him. Both Brendan and May are successful in getting their next ribbon and badge respectively. May heads onto Lavaridge town to face Flannery and gets dragged hard in that battle, earning her first defeat against a gym leader. Meanwhile after a second successful contest, Brendan is sure that he wants to be a coordinator…now all he has to do is tell his dad…

Which is easier said than done from Brendan’s point of view. It’s not that Norman has anything against Contests (that Brendan knows of) but with Norman never being around and only seeming interested in battling, Brendan is concerned that this will further strain their bond. But that’s something he’ll have to worry about later. For now it’s onto Fallarbor town where Brendan loses his first contest

Brendan and May meet up again in Meteor Falls where they tag team against Team Magma who had stolen the meteorite from Professor Cozmo. However Team Magma escapes with the meteorite. This failure to stop Team Magma, coupled by personal defeats has both Brendan and May feeling a little defeated. Both kids resolve to train harder and they retry the Fallarbor Town Contest and Lavaridge Gym respectively. This time they both come out victorious.

While all this is happening Wally has decided to officially start his gym challenge. He decides to head to Littleroot Town to see if perhaps he could get a Pokedex from Professor Birch as well. When he arrives he mentions May and Brendan and comments on how strong both of them are, to Professor Birch’s delight. Professor Birch decides to not only give Wally a Pokedex, but the final starter…a little Mudkip. Feeling even more confident than ever Wally sets his sights on Rustboro’s gym to catch up Brendan and May

All the while, May and Brendan are circling back to Petalburg and Littleroot to tell their fathers about their change in paths. Despite not having 4 badges like Norman asked, Brendan is still determined to battle his father to prove he’s a capable trainer even while being more into contests. May is a little nervous to tell her dad she has only barely filled out her Pokedex but she’s been blazing through the gyms.

Legendverse Rivals Professions as of now:

Blue: Gym Leader, Battle Legend ( runs the battle tree) and " Part Time Professor"

Silver: Pokemon trainer and runs Johto's Battle Tower.

Wally: Takes Anabel's place as head of the tower tycoon.

Barry: Eventually becomes a tower tycoon like his father. Also kinda a professor's aid????? He found himself actually being invested in myths and such, and occasionally helps out Kiran and Cynthia with their research. Genuinely knows his stuff!

Cheren: Canonically a gym leader

Bianca: Ends up being a full fledged pokemon professor.

Hugh: Unovan champion and pokemon rehabilitator

N: Tbh? Not entirely sure? I generally imagine him living a #cottegecore life style with Kamari. That being said, I can see him doing some things. For one, working at a pokemon daycare fits him really well, or like Hugh, a pokemon rehabilitator. He also has the potential to be a pokemon professor- not entirely sure how he would feel about that, but I think he's qualified for it? Pokemon battles are still a thing for him, but not the main focus.

Shauna: Either a pokemon coordinator or showcase star- which ever is allowed in Kalos ( both have a very toxic space, so it's best that only one exists in Kalos), as well as a photographer.

Trevor: A professor's assistant! I do think he took the gym challenge at one point though, given how he mentioned he would do it if he wasn't focused on the Pokedex. I don't think he's particularly interested in being champion though.

Tierno: Like Shauna, possible a coordinator or showcase star. Again, there's some Legendverse lore on how I perceive contests and showcases but this seems like a really good fit for him. He probably even opened his own dance studio too!

No Calem/Serena cause they got replaced with ocs lol.

Hau: Either a kahuna or the champion. I haven't exactly decided on one. I can see a case for each of them, though.

Gladion: Alola Elite 4 member and potential aether foundation president. I say potential because in my au, Gladion isn't thrown into ownership of the Aether Foundation. I want him to be a kid and not handle such responsibility. That, and the fact that Gladion has some trauma of the place, and it wouldn't do him good to just go back there. He might in the future ( he's 22 by SV in my au, so it might be around the time he's considering taking up the mantle)

Lillie: I know she's not an actual rival, but I just wanted to add her lol. Like Gladion, she doesn't involve herself with the Aether Foundation for a long while. But I do see her potentially being a researcher there, as well as a pokemon trainer ( we know that one can be a pokemon trainer professionally).

Hop: Hopscotch <3. A pokemon professor, and works with the ranger guild in Galar. Occasionally goes out on the field for ranger work, but being a professor is his main occupation.

Marnie: A gym leader and fashion designer. She also does music, and would occasionally appear on her brothers band.

Bede: A gym leader and a stage actor, much like Opal( she's alive btw). He, too, dances, mostly ballet( he wears ballet shoes as a part of his gym uniform).

While the three aren't exactly rangers per say ( though Hop is like a professor for the rangers, I guess), but ever since they were established, they do work closely with them, especially Marnie and Bede, given how the routes to their respective towns can be....intense.

Nemona: Definitely becomes top champion. I mean. Come on.

Arven: A chef! Was pretty much stated in the games.

Penny: I can see her working in the leagues i.t department. I think that was said in the game? I don't remember lol.

I like the idea of Hunter being a family with Darius and Eberwolf (no hate to any of his other choices, the more family this kid has the better) but in a Pokemon Boiling Isles.

Darius Deamonne: Champion (Aura Master- Previous Elite Four Member)  

Learned to hone his aura at a young age, was trained by the Golden Guard for years to become a master. Now, Darius is one of the strongest trainers and can seem cold but is caring for those he’s close with. Usually turns other people's aura down because he finds it exhausting feeling everyone’s emotions. Not many people nowadays know he’s an aura master. Became a champion after the previous one’s death, making him the first new champion in over fifty years.

Was mentored under the previous Golden Guard for a year on route to be a Pokémon Master, but stopped trying after he disappeared and decided to continue befriending all Pokémon. Is now on route to trying again.

You have a Harvest Moon au? 👀 I was gonna ask about FaW/Jumping The Rail but the Harvest Moon part captured my attention (and I don't want to bug you with too many questions). What characters is it centered around and do you have a basic plot/idea for it yet?

Never feel bad about bugging me with questions. I love opening Tumblr and seeing I have messages, especially when they're from people I know. It's very exciting to talk to people (esp my friends) about the nonsense in my brain and I would love to do it more 😂 ask all the questions you want, you might stir something up that I feel the need to put down somewhere.

ANYWAY. PHM. It's centered around the young (13-ish) Akari who comes to Jubilife Village (possible a little subset-like area of Jubilife City, like. Several miles out of the city. Not easily walked to. Middle of nowhere pokemon style.) needing a place to stay. Mayor Kamado leads her to a decrepit, rundown farm that she is allowed to stay on and live on with the caveat that she is required to improve upon it. If she hasn't improved upon it in a year, she gets the boot. (She is a child who doesn't understand contracts, property law, etc, and he is desperately clinging to a greatness the village hasn't seen in a century). Akari agrees to this and lives out her life harvest moon-like. I've focused on a more pokemon-esque version of it where she gets the Hisuian starters in various ways and they help her on the farm. She's also got a ponyta named Dolly who is ✨spicy✨

Elesa moves in during Akari's first year and the become friendly. She's absolutely confused by this grubby little dirt urchin who wanders up to her clothing store (formerly run by Anthe, who sold it to Elesa so she could retire) and just offers her a massive bag of coin in exchange for new clothes. Elesa lays claim to her as a cute niece and makes her SO MUCH farmer chic clothing. (Side note- Cyllene doubles as law enforcement (of a sort, there's really no crime in Jubilife Village because... there's no one really living in Jubilife Village!) as well as Kamado's aid with the town. Elesa has a crush on Cyllene, which is required, but Cyllene is highly stressed and quite expressionless, and Elesa is often too nervous to really do much more than offer to make her custom clothes as a way of flirting, which Cyllene honestly takes as her just being nice... this is my own ridiculous little ship that I love.) Akari thinks Elesa is funny and enjoys spending time with her, though she does do a lot of teasing her about her crush.

Laventon and Rei double as livestock owners and the local vet (and vet tech). Rei is a couple years older than Akari and deeply protective of this Tiny Baby in the universal way of "oh my god this person is just barely younger than me, they're a baby I must protect". We all have those moments. I know it. You know it. Rei is always trying to give Akari free stuff that she insists on paying for. Laventon, Rei's father (adopted or otherwise, idk), also gives her free stuff but more subtly. Taking care of the animals. Giving her advice on the best food. Telling her they "just" got a certain food in and asking her to use it and give him her opinion.

There's ALSO a train that runs nearby. It used to run through the town, and actually passes by Akari's farm, but "improvements" and speed had it passing by instead. Think of how Route 66 used to be the main thoroughfare across the country until bypasses were put in- that's essentially the "station" in Jubilife. Akari always waves at the train (to which she gets a responding horn, ALWAYS to her delight) and is somewhat beset upon by Ingo and Emmet one day, who came to visit Elesa and were curious about the girl on the farm. Again, they immediately take her under their wing, and they delight in both picking on her and making her take care of herself. Akari is terrible at taking care of herself and frequently faints due to overexertion (Elesa, Passelle(?), and Cyllene hate this but are unable to convince her to take breaks, drink water, and eat better because Akari is afraid she'll be thrown out if Kamado thinks she isn't working hard enough and won't listen to them tell her thats not how it works. 13 year olds!!!) and scares the twins one day as they find her passed out in the fields after her pokemon sought their attention while the train passed by. They manage to convince enough people that adding Jubilife Village to their stop (or a different stop) would be beneficial for everyone and end up somewhat taking over that route. It means they see Elesa every day (win! Beties reunited!), get to ensure Akari is taking care of herself, and get to give their pokemon (especially the large ones) plenty of room to roam. The subway bosses AND the former gym leader being in one spot also makes the village a draw for battlers.

Akari hates her house and doesn't put any work into it. It's her own little rebellion against Kamado. She'll improve the farmland and the stable and the barn and the cool but the house? FUCK that house. (Everyone hates that she literally STILL SLEEPS IN THAT FALLING APART FUCKING HOUSE.)

It's another of my silly self indulgences that I need to revisit 😂 especially since the comic of Ingo and Emmet being dared to adopt Akari by Akari has reached 100 notes and I said I'd redraw it if that happened fksbsjs
