figured id make a bigger post about carmine and my insert/oc rhys :]] he's exclusive to the pokepasta perdition mod only

i do have a little story cooking right now, so here it is vvv (dont feel obliged to read it idm! i also like archiving my stuff here)

initially i was incredibly sympathetic over carmine's status as the tormented trainer. i was very interested with how the devs reimagined creepy black to look like because carmine is a character made for the mod only so i just looked at carmine and went :] aw lil guy...

I wanted to try to copy the perdition artstyle... so i chose creepy black's color palette and accidentally made a brother along the way 💥 told myself eventually that - yeah I think carmine needs a nice big brother

rhys is a relaxed, laid back kanto champion. red - or should I say, PROFESSOR REDwood is a retired trainer so his champion days are over for sure, and rhys is the current champion in whatever year it's taking place.

i haven't thought too deep to really stitch the story together but as the story goes, carmine goes on an unexpected rampage to curse every trainer and pokemon (which kills them in the process) which prompts professor redwood to really investigate what's going on. rhys, who's learning about the casualties as time goes on - puts his champion duties on hold to also investigate what's happening - he doesn't even know that carmine was the one partially responsible for this - so at the same time, rhys is looking for carmine to protect him from this mass genocide...

he feels regretful, perhaps he shouldn't be too relaxed and reassured that his little brother can do things on his own. but then again, it's not like rhys has all the time either to be with him. being a champion is such a chore, isn't it?

i imagine a sequence where redwood confronts carmine and ghost as the mod plays out, taking place in the abandoned pokecenter. rhys would hear this commotion and try to look into the place, and would soon discover that the perpetrator is carmine and the horrid ghostly entity that plays puppet on his poor brother. even if it was his first time seeing them, the strange aura was all too familiar because rhys swears he feels that sensation everytime he witnesses another accident. it's definitely gotta be them, but why carmine?

love the idea of a one on one confrontation with rhys and carmine tho... it's your brother but you need to stop this madness, what're gonna do?

redwood and rhys probably band together to figure out how to stop this thing (but we'll never know if they're successful or not)

there is little chance for steven to hold a grudge against mike

like it was already established--the author specifically said that the vibe between the brothers and the original characters are noticeably different

and in the trading glitch, usually *both* pokemon get deleted/corrupted; so mike is also affected (but that wasnt addressed in the pokepasta)

in other words, steven didnt take the incident as well as mike did. seeing that mike waa older, so maybe thats a possible explanation

so who strangled mike?

on the surface, it looks like steven did it--either that he did it himself, or he sent out miki to do it

but weve established that steven is unlikely to hold any grudge against mike

so that leaves us with miki.

we know that pokemon are extremely loyal to their trainers. imagine seeing your trainer grieve your death because of someone's selfish act. in that scenario, you were viewed as an object, and caused such anguish for you and your trainer

anyway, it was possible that miki possessed steven to kill mike

right after miki's revival, the player lost control of steven

this explains the unnatural damage to the stairs,

and how "steven" managed to completely decapitate mike's head

(note that miki was described to be stronger than a usual charizard)

more evidence of the possession

and the "S!3v3n" thing didnt occur at the end where he was standing next to mike's bed

it mightve happened right after the revival, when miki possessed steven's body

so yeah, thats pretty much about it. sorry if its a bit disorganized

strangled red hc #246 since steven and mike chose charmander and squirtle this actually leads to the events of pokemon yellow taking place a year later where red and blue get pikachu and eevee instead, professor oak keeps bulbasaur until it wanders off and leaf finds it and tries to return it but bulbasaur gets attached so oak decides she can keep it

i cannt; pokepasta ramble ish again. moreon my take of strangled red saga.

door's open is gonna b canon to my pokepasta timeline except. except.

steven fails. also hot take but i liked player/character interaction and them having SOME kind of stake.and also the unexplained possible 4th wall breaks. those have to be intentional .

so i proppose this idea. it's this weird mix of things being in-universe and "meta" but. i suppose in a way the pokemon world is real,and the player just interacts with it. the world is not purely a game, the player affects in-universe things.

the strangled red saga isn't just gonna be me focusing on strangled red no no. if the in-universe game world is real . if the characters can break the 4th wall. be sentient. thne i wonder. all those things the player did to unlock secrets , just how unethical were they in-universe?

this is basically me stitching together the "missing" time between stories. more expansion . the player is very much relevant but we're not exactly going off on their perspective. this is only based off the original trilogy of strangled red btw nothing else

yeah that's right guys . we're doing this from Red's pov, from a in-universe standpoint. kinda. pov will switch but it will be mainly from red's. because what else is more scary then having your entire town pretend your childhood idol doesn't exist, following a ghost, getting killed by said idol and all of a sudden when you wake up you realise your movements are dictated by this disembodied force who can only talk through either forcing your movements, naming your pokemon, or typing.

but youre more scared of the big bad steven right?

and red's throat feels tight suddenly. can he tell anyone? not when they're in on it apparently. are his pokemon okay? they are, somehow. somehow. it's that disembodied person's action somehow, something about save files and glitches. they apparently have a stake in this too.

red is alone, feels alone, and then he starts catching pokemon once again and another wayward trade happens. everyone looks shocked. horrified. but they also seem to know and they keep their mouth shut. it's only you and this disembodied force together in it then. against this potential threat. but then it forces you to catch every single pokemon again. they keep dying. one by one., and all red can do to protest is. nothing. because force always tells him it's for the better. they just need some bait. something to see if this curse can be circumvented but people, people keep noticing. they keep noticing he's seemingly throwing away his pokemon. like he has a choice (he feels compelled to move. to speak. to stare, his own actions? he's not sure if that's his choice to walk)

and there's this compromise (not really) where instead of trading in public. he trades with this fella named Gold. they die anyways. they keep dying. but he has to progress. because only that disembodied force has been keeping it real with him.

being a fictive (and having other fictives) is crazy, because for one my source character is steven from that one pokepasta (not saying the name since it could trigger someone), but we also have both null AND 303, which are both silly guys (especially null, literally the first sign it was here was that it was sniffing kai in the headspace), and when we were forming xander, he was about to be a fictive of the same source character as me but his ass was like "nah i'mma do my own thing" and is not a fictive </3 (we literally share almost the exact same voice) and then we have(or had, haven't seen her since she formed) CANDLE which is hilarious considering she's from inanimate insanity and 303 and null are particularly funny because both are minecraft creepypastas (we seem to be very creepypasta fictive heavy) that are NOT just silly little guys in canon, but they were both like :33333 and decided to be silly little guys anyway and then there's ME who decided i'm a silly little kitty meowmer now we also have a literal teletubby, some random version of frost red from the soulshiver fnf mod, lost silver, the rival silver, glitchy red, kaz(who is also basically red), and blake, but they're all pretty straight forward

i had this thought earlier and i figured id share with the world if nobodys had a similar thought

so grey and shinto right. always on my mind (sorry im autistic) but in the mod itself grey is established as a fella in a bootleg pokemon game.. which means thered be other bootleg mons besides whatever the fuck shinto is right

and the songs shinto and shitno grey's clearly like.. yknow. battling her, and in his hand is bootleg poke ball. you'd think grey would send out one of his bootleg mons to battle her.. right. does he not have any?

what if shinto was meant to be a static encounter in the game. i know its implied grey cheated or whatever sorry its like 1 in the morinng i havent had a proper sleep schedule but like.. what if shinto was supposed to be like one of the starter bootleg pokemon for grey, given the hypothetical context. by starter i dont mean traditional like 'oooh choose from the 3 pokeballs!' sense but imagine it like how in gen 1 pokemon yellow you 'encounter' pikachu route 1 or even how in (sorry this is a stretch) in gen 3 theres the event flag preset for, even when you walk out of bounds before leaving littleroot, you can still interact with birch's bag and get your starter and. yknow. beat the shit out of a level 2/3 poochyena or zigzagoon depenidng on whcih game

if not a starter, what if shinto was like.. a static legendary encounter? like in the context of gen 3 'event' legendaries (deoxys and mew) or even gen 4 legendaries (darkrai, shaymin, and arceus). these both can be accessed with cheats/hacks or certain glitches (for gen 3, glizter popping/corrupting event flags, for gen 4, bike void glitch) and grey just fucked around and found out ig
