Based entirely on this text post, which has been stuck in my head for 2 weeks now

AUGH. I am having conflicting feelings now about the next polymercs installment. I had a problem with it that I needed to chew on for a few hours but I think I've at least worked out what it is, if not how to solve it. 3 AM rubberducking commence.

Basically I had 2 ideas:

Very evil gory mindfuck torture kink scene, already mostly written

Only moderately evil surprise cuckoldry scene, not written yet

And I wanted to figure out a way to have my cake and eat it too, but now I'm thinking that's not feasible given how I've written things so far, and it took me a bit to articulate why.

The way I have scenario 1 written out is very much focused on the sub, and a lot of the dialogue and interaction there is about how the top(s) still love him very much, how they're doing this to him *because* they love him, in fact, that they want him to understand what he did wrong and be sorry about it and be a better person for it. And that is definitely very degrading and very sadistic and cruel (there are healthier ways to get someone to apologize than cutting their thumbs off lmao), but it would not gel with a cucking scene at all! Because cucking is about the total opposite of that, isn't it? The entire psychology behind cucking someone isn't "I'm doing this because I love you," it's "I'm doing this because I DON'T love you." If it were about love, it wouldn't be cucking, it'd be stag/vixen or hotwifing type shit, yeah?

So yeah, I really don't think I can make these two scenarios jive. I'm gonna have to choose. Which sucks, because I really do think both of them are fun and interesting and I really did want to have both of them at first. (How did polyphobia make its way into my polyamory series, this is oppression smh)

Pros of option 1: already mostly written, I have a strongly established outline of the characters' psychology and emotional arcs. That would all need to be reworked if I were to go with the other choice; I'd basically have to trash the majority of what I've written. And it's also darker and more evil--and I wanted this one to be evil, ngl. Shit's been getting too wholesome in here, I wanna fire some rent-lowering gunshots and scare off the fandom puritans.

Pros of option 2: more fun and definitely a good deal sexier. What I have written right now is really not very horny at all lol. And I did intend for this to be horny.

Honestly? I'm leaning towards option 2... much as it sucks to dump a load of work into the "Unused" document just in case I want to nab bits for later, but likely never to be touched again. This is, first and foremost, a porn series lol. And at the end of the day, I really should be writing for what I feel is the right choice for the story, not just out of spite.

But that can wait until a more sensible hour. Right now it is 4 in the morning and I should sleep

PolyMercs AU Headcanon 1/???

All 8 of the Mercs are pretty much just Hollyhock's parents from Bojack Horseman if you ever needed someone to compare them all to!

(How they all made their "union" official was basically they were all just dating each other by accident after a while but only a few of them (like Medic, Heavy, Solly, and Engie) were able to actually admit it themselves until Medic executed the experiment that got Medic to have LuluBelle, which made them all so close to the point they all just stopped giving a shit and just outright said they were official)

(All Scout said in reaction to the news was how it was so obvious he wasn't surprised at all, plus he already knew Medic is a nutter so yeah)
