We always look forward; never look back. But this thing ... it's different. It challenges us. It spits in the face of physics, anthropology, religion. It rewrites history. It dares us to question everything we know about ourselves ... about everything.

Am I ready to accept all that may come out of this if it works? It might give us a cure for everything. It might also have the power to kill millions. Do I want that on my conscience? I wish I knew where this journey will take us, but I don't. All I know is that this is bigger than me, my self-doubt, or any crisis of conscience. I now truly realize how profoundly insignificant I am compared to all this. Why does that make me feel so much better?

Most people don't really have a purpose, a sense of purpose anyway, beyond their immediate surroundings. They're important to their family but it doesn't go much beyond that. Everyone is replaceable at work, friendships come and go.

Bluffing doesn't mean what it used to. No one wants an all-out war, and everyone knows it. Both sides know the other doesn't want a fight, so we push each other against the wall, a tiny bit further every time. It's all about saving face but, basically, we're playing chicken, and both sides think that they can do whatever they want because the other guy will never use its nuclear arsenal. It probably won't be today, but someday ... someday one of us is gonna be terribly wrong.

No one really wants to fight, but no one wants to be the one to back off either. It's a hundred times worse with military men, and a hundred times more so with politicians.

—What about you? You're fine with that? The end justifies the means, is that it?

—You make it sound as if I were irrational. Yes. I do think this particular end justifies considerable means. I draw the line somewhere, like everyone else. I just draw it based on reason and not emotions.

—So you'd let a few hundred people die? Would you stop for a thousand? How many lives are you willing to sacrifice for this? A million?

—Certainly not. But a thousand seems like a reasonable figure.

You train your soldiers to kill using video games. They blow enough people up on their computer and it becomes easier for them to kill with a real weapon. Why do you think your government funds so many war and terrorism movies? Hollywood does your dirty work for you. Had 9/11 happened twenty years earlier, the country would have been in chaos, but people have seen enough bad things on their television screen to prepare them for just about anything.

War brings out the worst, and sometimes the best, in people.

Hi!! I'm a big fan of your work and I was just wondering how you plan out compositions?

for me, the story/concept/feeling u wanna convey is the basis for all composition! technical components like line weight, posing, coloring, etc. are all in service to "what is the image supposed to say?"

example: wanted to draw valentines-themed saiou, so i drew them in a chocolate box! ...but it was kind of unsatisfying, so i re-drew ouma and moved some bg elements to try to make a more balanced and interesting composition.

posing reflects a lot of a personality, so "how does the pose express the character's own personality/feelings towards the other?" prompts ideas for how to arrange the composition. like in this case... western valentine's theme -> if ouma had cupid''s arrow? -> needs more distance to nock and draw -> ouma perching on/pinning saihara down. that's the flavor -> then, rearrange the ribbons and treats to follow the flow...

i'll also check layout and values throughout: for example, after finishing fontaine's aq, i wanted to draw smth about furina & focalor's partnership, and focalor controlling her from the shadows... so the concept was "a dance where you can't relax from your partner's lead."

the lineart's a hot mess, but the spotlight helps divide the image, direct the focal point and ties into the aq story.

tl;dr: pose, sightline and visibility are the key traits i focus on in a draw, but the bottom line is always "story" first. hope this helps... even a little bit (':

The article really should honestly be read by people who try to make any of the characters actions black or white and ignore the other themes in the game. It specifically mentions these aspects that people try to make seem undebatable or uninterpretive and makes sure to use wording to say it can stem from multiple things and never confirm or deny anything.

I do remind people that the interviewer does not work for Wrong Organ so I am only using quotes and paraphrased statements rather than their own deductions as those should be taken with the same grain of salt of an analysis you see on twitter or tumblr and even my blog. They are still a subjective eye compared to Kasurinen’s direct statements.

Particularly pointing out that Jimmy, while deplorable, is still supposed to complex and his actions are not fueled by some comically sick amusement. And that Curly’s actions are not just rooted in one thing and not just rooted in rape culture but also include other social and systemic factors besides the shallow idea he’s just dick riding for his friends. It’s meant to be interpretative and I need to point out that the main writer says that “good intentions mean nothing when it’s gotten that bad”. A lot of people like to think Curly was only acting with intentions for himself or Jimmy when it’s was a misguided attempt at overall peace that ultimately failed and whatever processes behind that are to be nitpicked, not if he was acting out or malice or disregard.

I wish more was talked about specifically with Anya, Daisuke and Swansea but I understand why they weren’t as Curly’s actions/inactions pre-crash and Jimmy’s actions throughout all segments are the main impactful forces in the game. People should really read it for themselves but sit on this quote directly from the main writer:

Even though I am struggling with another multi-chapter fanfic about Frain, I still like to write a one-shot every now and then to change the mood for myself.

Maybe ''Ngày, tuy không dài, vẫn tốt hơn đêm'' is just like that for me at that moment.

The thought of an AU where Francis and Antonio are in a taboo relationship like between a father-in-law and son-in-law inspired me to write this fanfic. While writing this story, I really felt the weight of the guilty pleasures both literally and figuratively.

When describing the details to complete this painting, I thought about all sorts of things, from the carpet I wanted to have a pattern like this to some of the word characters curling around the wall-mounted candlestick like that. However, the bright color scheme, just like one day you go out and catch a basket full of sunshine, was predetermined from the beginning.

for a while now i've been contemplating a concept of tumblr canon, as in like the western canon, a body of works of art, literature, songs, media, and other creations that have influenced or are widely known in tumblr culture. things like leyendecker paintings that people redraw as fanart, lines of text that get used in web weaving, odd or obscure media referenced in textposts with the assumption that everyone reading it will know it and get the joke, that kind of thing. the kind of thing that gets a "yeah yeah the time knife we've all seen it" reaction here and nowhere else.

issues and limitations that immediately arise to me: do pieces of media that have large influential fanbases on here count, e.g. homestuck, supernatural, or dungeon meshi? do they have to have an established history with the site to make the cut? how do i make sure this doesn't become just another know your meme database, but more niche? do i assume some things make up the canon because of my specific tastes and followings, despite not being that widespread? how could i make a website or collection for others to view when i decide what goes in? what would be the point of this collection if i were to make it? do events count for the canon, or only pieces of media? what if influential images and media resulted from events and are inextricable from said events? is this all needlessly pretentious and certain to result in petty bickering about what should and should not be considered "tumblr canon", if indeed anyone takes notice at all?

wait so genuine question. do people typically not feel just like. random aches and pains out of nowhere for seemingly no reason? like do people go entire days without feeling any pain whatsoever? this is a genuine question cuz. i always thought it was just normal? so i usually just don’t tell anyone? especially doctors? for fear that they’ll be like “oh you’re so weak you can’t even handle the random aches and pains that humans constantly feel” like was i right that whole time? cuz thats been a thing since i was a really little kid. and whenever i told anyone that was the response i got. so i just believed it. like im looking at the definition of chronic pain. and it just says like. if you’re in pain for longer than blahblahblah. and i guess i always just assumed it meant severe pain. idk. but uh yeah. are constant random ghost pains normal yes/no?
