Distribution of Land, 1937 - Luis Arenal. (The Met)
The president of Mexico during this period, Lazaro Cardenas (1934-1940), redistributed 45,000,000 acres (180,000 km2) of land to the campesinos (peasant farmers), 4,000,000 acres (16,000 km2) of which were expropriated from U.S. nationals who owned agricultural property.

Rosalind Fox Solomon, “The Forgotten” (1974 to 2019)
Rosalind Fox Solomon is reflecting on her sprawling, decades-long career. The American photographer has documented momentous events in our world’s social history, such as postwar Cambodia, apartheid in South Africa, and Northern Ireland during the Troubles. She has captured devastating natural disasters and unfathomable global poverty.
Mrs Fox Solomon began taking photographs in 1968, while living in the American South. Throughout her vast career, she has photographed people’s resilience; relationships with one another in both joy and pain. Her interest in culture and people underpins the images that we see today.

The migrant crisis in Latin America is the consequences of the Capitalist Modernity
Those people that are fleeing their land at thousands, if not millions, are met with the military and oppressive apparatus of the “first-world”, the “north-world”, European countries letting people die in the seas of the Mediterranean sea so they don’t get to the borders of the south Europe or the concentration camps in the Mexico-US border where agents of ICE and the United States Border Patrol behave as Gestapo agents by leaving people without food or any human care as they are caged – even children are separated from their families. This happens due to the eugenicist mentality of this countries, their white policies that had origin in the colonisation and the bases of the creation of the nation-state mentality.

My landlord isn't going to accept section 8.
That means I'll probably only be approved to live at my current location another year- if that. I have to save up as much money as possible for my next apartment. The costs entail movers, a deposit, admin fees, etc. Not to mention I want a book case, reading chair, and comfortable mattress to make the next place a little more liveable.
I really have liked it here. :(
The prospect of moving is stressful, but I trust the agency involved in my care won't let me slip through the cracks and this is somehow for the best. Anyways, does anyone know how I can acquire more money? I can't save anything on simply SSI. As soon as I am used to my CPAP machine, I'm going to apply for part time work and get involved with the department of vocational rehabilitation, though.
I'm reaching towards a goal of $150/month to consistently put in savings until I receive my section 8. $200/month would be more ideal, quite frankly. I can't have more than $2000 in my account at a time and I get $943 a month. That means I need to save up $1000 and hope that's enough for everything.
I have no idea when section 8 will hit but there will be fees involved with ending a lease early, too. It all feels daunting. I need to discuss with someone if there's a way I can save more money for everything without getting in trouble with social security. I heard "ABLE" accounts are a thing in some areas but I don't know if New Mexico is one of them.
Aside from moving fees, eventually I need a new phone, extra $$$ for when I'm healing from surgery, and a car. I want to be able to afford to run my own errands.
On top of working, I'm going to make as much art as possible. I will be happy to sell art to anyone who wants it. This might garner more attention for the Ko-Fi account I'm going to create and then people will be able to tip me if they like my art or the tarot readings I'm going to put on YouTube.
Speaking of tarot, my order from Magick.com that I placed on the 29th still hasn't been sent. I am starting to feel upset. According to what I found on Google, this behavior seems typical of them. If they don't give me an update by next Friday, I'm going to complain and get a refund, maybe. I already sent an email politely asking why it hasn't been sent yet.

I occasionally do some non-profit photo work for causes I think spotlight a need in our society, on May 26, 2022 I went out and shot a food poverty campaign for The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego’s Million Meal Event. (Full disclosure: I am not a religious person or in anyway endorse any actions or not by the Church, I took on the assignment because of the issue of food hunger that affects the less fortunate of us. Thanks). — The Catholic Diocese of San Diego is seeking donations and volunteers to package meals for families facing extreme poverty. Half of the food will be sent to the Casa de los Pobres in Tijuana, Mexico and the rest to the Philippines and Africa. — The food comes from Kids Around The World's One Meal program, which works with volunteer groups to bring nutritious food to communities that need it most. The goal is to deliver one million nutritious meals. Each bag contains red lentils, rice and a mix of vegetables, which can prepare the equivalent of four meals. Sister Armida Andrade with the Casa de los Pobres in Tijuana thanked the generosity of the diocese and the bishop in San Diego. La Casa de los Pobres delivers food every day to people with limited resources in Tijuana. Sometimes, they also transport food to the most needy neighborhoods. — #documentaryphotography #nonprofit #nonprofitphotography #poverty #foodpoverty #foodneed #tijuana #tijuanamexico #mexico #familiesinneed #dailymexico #vidacotidianamx #everydaymexico #everydaylatinamerica #everydaylafrontera #sandiego #everydayeverywhere #nuns #portrait #portraitphotography #retrato #environmentalportrait #everydaysocialjustice (at Tijuana B.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeyurWYFDIj/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
