I finally received my Ares statue to place on our altar! We actually did some work on the altar the other night, and it truly has been coming together! My partner and I have even performed a few offerings!
Honestly, it's been really nice gaining the ability to start having a separate space to be able to worship the gods, and I feel as though they have really been appreciating the offerings and prayers we've been doing!
I'll provide some more photos of how the altar is finally looking put together below:

We've since added more, but I forgot to take photos before I left home. This is from the very first night that we provided offerings!

Stop policing other peoples practice.
I got a helpol "tutorial video" against my will on my tiktok for you page this and I have to rant about, but I believe this is very important.
This person said in their comment section that hellenic polytheism IS ONLY a reconstructionist religion and someone who isn't a reconstructionist shouldn't be in the religion. And their post was about offerings to the gods and in their caption they implied that any offering that wasn't in the video (those being common offering like milk, honey, bread, hymns, etc) wasn't valid.
Here are my thoughts on that:
That's an opinion, not fact, and that opinion can fuck right off. The claim that Helpol is only a reconstructionist religion is fucking stupid, and that's coming from someone who's a borderline reconstructionist. I don't call myself that because I have to adapt to a modern way of practicing to make practicing more accessible for myself. Everyone has to. Including the overconfident poster who said that stupid thought. Unless that poster is currently building temples for the community, they can fuck off. They even told a commenter on their post who challenged that thought that they shouldn't be a part of the religion. It's fucking disgusting. Everyone also shows their love to the gods in many different ways. Just because someone decides to offer the gods something over another something does not mean they do not actually love the gods.
Now in these pictures, there are a good amount of things that I agree with. Yes, people shouldn't treat this religion like some game and treat it seriously. Yes, there is more to this religion than altars. Yes, TikTok has done a lot of damage to this community. But that includes this person's post. Stop speaking for the entire Helpol community. Stop gatekeeping. Stop policing shit that does not affect you.

I'm stressed right now and i don't know if this is a rational crash out💀 If I'm acting crazy, please tell me

Fellow pagans. Remember that the pagan experience is not purely an ex Christian experience. That experience is worth talking about, but please don't talk about the pagan experience as if leaving Christianity is universal to being neopagan.
Ex atheist pagans deserve to have their experiences acknowledged by the community.
Ex Muslim pagans deserve to have their experiences acknowledged by the community.
Non practicing Jewish pagans deserve to have their experiences acknowledged by the community.
Pagans who have been pagan for most or all of their life deserve to have their experiences acknowledged by the community.

Right and wrong ways to practice paganism
Don’t be an asshole
Respect the gods and others beliefs
Don’t be a terf or an xenophobic asshole or racist or homophobic etc
Do your damn hardest to be kind to the gods and others you meet while striving to be your best self for them and for yourself
Practice in a way that works best for you and only you.
That’s it. That’s literally it.
#there’s no right or wrong way to practice. just don’t be an ass#paganblr#paganism#pagan#hellenic polytheism#helpol#hellenism#hellenic worship

A little question for those of you out there with a bit more experience - how's best to devote an act to the Theoi?
I'm unfortunate right now in that work has me laid out and it's been hard to find the time, or in particular the energy, to pray. If I'm not praying, I'm barely engaging with the Theoi at all, maybe apart from the odd thought that something reminds me of them.
I still want to honour the gods as a small thing I can do in my every day. I know devotional acts are a thing, but I guess I'm wondering how you devote something - do you say out loud that it's for a certain god? Do you just think it? How do you let the gods know that you're doing something for them?
#maybe this isnt the brightest question but im a perfectionist so i wanna make sure i do it right#practice update#hellenic community#hellenic deities#hellenic pagan#hellenic polytheism#hellenic worship#helpol

i really truly believe an altar is not necessary to worship, especially if you (for whatever reason) struggle with any form of upkeep, lifting, moving, organising, etc. people in your community aren't gonna call you out if you can't do that kinda stuff, you're allowed to acknowledge your limits. it is not something you will be punished for or abandoned because of, by your gods or by your community.
sometimes just living in a way that your deity would approve of can be enough. encapsulate them in how you treat others, and how you live your life. become a local form of their influence in the world. to me, that is worth so much more than an altar.
and above all, if you can't maintain an altar, sincerely don't feel like you have to do anything more than what you're capable of. the gods wouldn't want you to hurt yourself or neglect your needs. take care of urself ok?
#baffy talks#in my studies i'm realising aesthetics aren't everything#i USED to believe a pretty looking altar was necessary. but it was never practical for my needs#paganblr#paganism#demonolatry#helpol#hellenic polytheism#just tagging my religions

To my pagan/polythiest friends, heres a reminder to actually sit and chat with your deity about what you want/need and what would make life easier for you. They cant read minds most of the time (when you're not actively quietly communicating with them) and communication can only strengthen bonds. Go say that thing youre terrified to say or admit that you dont like some aspect of your practice. 90% of the time life gets easier when you do. And they're genuinely happy to see you succeed how you want to.
I see u, you're doin great

How the Gods Feel to Me/Moments that Remind Me of Them
my own shorter version of some older posts by @.honey-and-ambrosia and @.khthonioi <3
Zeus: Sitting on the balcony during a summer thunderstorm; the air is warm and the rain cold, and its dark outside but you're sheltered and safe
Poseidon: When you're laying in bed after a day of swimming and u can still feel the waves of the water throughout your body
Hekate: Browsing the local crystal shop and finding exactly what you needed
Aphrodite: The excitement of getting ready for a first date; freshly showered, skin soft, hair styled and makeup done
Ares: Being your own scary dog privilege; walking alone at night and not being afraid of your surroundings
Apollo: Sitting on the swings of the local park near sunset, music in your ears and sun on your face, comfortably warm in the summer heat
Artemis: Coming across a wild animal in the city and not scaring it away when you walk by
Dionysus: Giggling hysterically with your friends on a night out, (tipsy,) carefree and happy
Persephone: Peeling a pomegranate and watching the juice drip down your hands and leave a stain
Nyx: Sitting in total darkness at your bedroom window and staring at the moon and stars
#some of these r more detailed than others but most of these deities are new to my practice so i may update this as i get to know Them better#marlowe selenophiliiaa#hellenic deities#hellenistic witch#hellenic polytheism#hellenic pagan#helpol#zeus worship#poseidon worship#hekate worship#aphrodite worship#ares worship#apollo worship#artemis worship#dionysus worship#persephone worship#nyx worship

I'd like to personally acknowledge the gods and what they did for me today!
As soon as I got to work, I was in a particular pain that made me feel like I was internally dying. With 7 hours of work ahead of me, I felt that it was worth a shot talking to the gods.
I asked if I could please get some help subsiding the pain to help me get through my workday as easily as possible. No sooner did I send an ask did my pain slowly begin to subside. Then it didn't return to me for the remainder of the day.
For that, I send thanks to whichever god(s) helped me out today. I know I mentioned Ares (my main deity) and Apollo earlier, but if anyone else helped in this endeavor, then I thank you as well ♡

I think something important to remember when it comes to working with deities and spirits and the like is that you’re not always going to be perfect at it and it’s not always going to be going well.
We put such an emphasis on all the good experiences that we can sometimes forget that there are going to be times where you can’t face doing your practice for a while (mental health, illness, life in general). There will be times you can’t sense your deities/spirits when trying to communicate with them. Your tarot might come out as nonsense. You might feel completely disconnected.
I think it’s so easy to get disheartened when dealing with this type of stuff. When you’ve been able to grasp something so magical in the past, only to feel it slipping away in the present, it will, of course, feel awful and like you’re failing as a devotee.
But it’s important to remember you’re not doing anything wrong. You’re only human, and sometimes human things get in the way.
Take a moment to breathe. If it’s not coming to you as easily as before, take a break. Give yourself to opportunity to fail for a while. Your gods will still be here when you’re able to hear them again.
#going through this myself atm#not sure if it’ll help anyone else but I think it’s important to forgive ourselves more#feeling disconnected from your practice is the WORST though#hellenism#hellenic polytheism#pagan#paganism

Color theory study
[15/06/2025]
[Day 1] - out of the comfort zone: take the colors and make a painting in harmony without mixing colors .
I ended up creating an oc based on color theory! Meet The Color Master!

Each part of his body is based on SAT, VALUE AND HUE. An interesting fact is that he can express some of his feelings through the hue halo that is on his head. He can have any color he wants, after all he is an entity of colors.
He's só silly, i hope he dies.

“Your practice is valid if you struggle with even getting up in the morning and therefore cannot do certain things” and “our religion requires some form of effort” are two ideas that can and will coexist. Accommodation does not equal being wrong, it’s not all black and white.
