Hey can people like take a million steps back from their petty shipping drama and purity culture in a woke blanket to stop using what happened to Clown as fuel in your asinine debates and incorrect identification of pedophilic content?

What are the issues of racism that are within the proship communities? Do you have any examples of things that are widespread talking points that are racist and why? /I am being genuine here sorry if it doesn't come across that way ;;
There aren’t any widespread talking points that are racists. It’s more like the tendency of proshippers to either invalidate or dismiss any concerns of racism within fandoms that fans of color has. It is sometimes dismissed as “anti rhetroic” or people being “pro-censorship” when all that fan is doing is trying to raise awareness of racial biases that fandoms tend to have or that is prominent in media. Half of it is gets viewed as being “too political” and its like your feelings are invalidated in favor for white fans who use fandoms to escape. Like I used media to escape too, but its hard to when I get not go on the internet and see fans being racists about characters of colors or treating fans of colors as outsiders. I just wish there was more acknowledgment and care about these topics rather it all being thrown as anti behavior when criticism of media always existed, especially when it comes to bigotry.
I guess a more specific example is the Star Wars fandom. Since Disney made the new trilogy, there’s always been controversy, but racism around it has gotten extremely worse. I got told by one proshipper that my interpretation of the anger around the new trilogy is because of old fans hating the new material and Disney is bad at handling it (which is mostly true with Disney), but I mentioned the whole debacle of Finn and him being a stormtropper and the same proshipper kept trying to act like the hate was anything, but racism. Then went on to say, “well I never witness any of that, but I have seen people hate it because stormtroppers were confirmed to look like something else.” Which is a weird take and purposefully ignores like every new controversy that appears in the Star Wars fandom related to racism.
Or discussing racial biases that exist in how fandoms treat characters of color in terms of shipping. Like it is proven that characters of colors are rarely the center of attention in fanart and fanfiction and white fans have a tendency to avoid shipping that character with another prominent white character. No one is saying people can’t ship that or that they HAVE to ship that character of color, but it gets treated as “anti rhetoric” when its just people venting frustration over racial biases in fandoms. I have seen proshippers being allowed to vent about being accused of racism by antis (which some of the allegations can be ridiculous by the antis and lies), but talking about racism that exist in fandoms and not directly targeting one person is seen as “politicizing” fandoms and you being a fandom police. Like no, its an observation and people of color are allowed to interact with the media however they want, just like white proshippers are allowed to do whatever they want.
Also to the anon, I’m not attacking you. I know you are being genuine, just explaining, so sorry if the language comes across as accusatory to you. I’m not, just a little fired up with this topic because it’s been something I’ve observed for a while and wish it was talked about more. Obviously, not ALL proshippers are like this, but there are some who are a little too far down on the “any criticism is procensorship” which is not fair when it comes to valid criticism.
Additional edit; there is an unfortunate rise of “anti woke” behavior in proship whenever elements of race is brought up and treating it with sensitivity. The amount of well-meaning white authors just asking questions if its okay to write a character of color a certain way and what’s appropriate or not, then proshippers get pissy and calling it “censorship” and telling said white author to write whatever they want and don’t listen to haters. If a person wants to educate themselves on how to write characters of color properly to avoid offending, LET THEM! It’s not censorship and its weird to equate wanting non stereotypical characters of color as censorship. It’s why the publishing industry has sensitivity training. Be okay with being told no sometimes if it’s not your space to do so. It reeks of white entitlement if you’re upset at receiving criticism and not being allowed to do whatever you want. You’re on the internet. The same way you tell antis if on them to not curate their space and should be prepared to see triggering shit online, you will also be criticized online especially if you post art

The steady rise of procensorship amongst brainDead children with no critical thinking skills so deeply concerning but also just endlessly irritating. Like I get it. We're living in rough times but Trying to ban any discussion of anything even lightly Morally questionable doesn't allow you to develop any real morals of your own or understand the motives and why we consider them immoral, Like none of you can differentiate genuinely between legal and moral. Screaming at any slight immorality And invoking law doesn't make you seem anymore Moral, it makes you seem like the kind of person who would sell out an escaped slave because it's against the law and the "law is morality"
In conclusion , if you're the kind of person who says "that's them officer" As a response to something that you don't like I don't trust you Or your judgment.

Correlate the way characters names are ordered in ship names with sex positions (ie. who’s top and who’s bottom)
This last part needs extra context but for a TL;DR: Minor x Adult ships and sexualizing minors are disgusting, don’t talk to me if you think they’re ok just because it’s fictional
Alright lets rip this band-aide.
I am not proship nor antiship. People who engage with content that involve minors for sexual gratification disgust me in every way, I don’t care if it’s fiction and I don’t care if there’s a multilayered reason why someone would, but I am not procensorship nor do I support severe harassment. I think people should be allowed to make what ever content they like within their own spaces, it’s everyone’s natural right to do what they want, and I support the use of dark topics if it’s not just fetishization. I myself like gore and monsterfucking stuff so I’m no puritan. I do not go out of my way to harass people or send death threats. That’s all, over and out.

antis say "we're normal! it's the nasty horrible toxic problematic disgusting proshippers who are bad!" and proceed to send gore and death threats to people who disagree with their cultlike procensorship ideals and are literally just trying to exist and go more than five minutes without being harassed

Week 4 - Women’s Labor, Women’s Work: Historiographic Examples
This week’s readings historiographic examples of women’s labor and women’s work.
Mavor
In second chapter of her book, Pleasures Taken: Performances of Sexuality and Loss in Victorian Photographs, Carol Mavor explores motherhood in the photographs of the Victorian photographer, Julia Margaret Cameron. She addressed motherhood in Cameron’s photographs in four categories: a continuation of the cultural practices of the period, Julia Kristeva's maternal theory, Mark Taylor's theoretical conception of alterity, and her connections to Cameron’s photographs in the context of her own experiences as a mother. Calling Cameron, a “performer” and a “highly visible eccentric,” she points out how she was subverting the representation of Madonna. Bringing in Taylor's theoretical conception of alterity, she argues that Cameron’s Madonna’s embodies death and sexuality, “something that the biblical Mary is robbed of.” Building upon Kristeva's theories of considering “maternity as a graft,” and Barthes’s theories about “umbilical cord” and “punctum,” Mavor argues that Cameron's photographs of the Madonna often “feature Mary as a figure of maternality tied to death.”
Mahar
In the third chapter of her book, Women Filmmakers in Early Hollywood, Karen Ward Mahar explores the engagement of women in film production in the early 1900 due to their alleged moral superiority. She brings the example that by 1915, more than eighty five percent of censors were female because of the ideology of female moral superiority. She points out that by the end of first decade of the twentieth century, “gendering of the moral address of cinema” in the film industry was happening in three ways: “(1) by the influence of procensorship female reformers, (2) the fact that women volunteers did most of the actual censoring for the voluntary National of Censorship, and (3) by the industry’s filmic response of male conversion narratives Board.” Mahar argues despite the fact that the most of filmmakers in the early years of the cinema were male, the artistic feature film highlighted the “allegedly natural abilities of female directors.” She contends that the women who were alert to the uplift movement could “situate themselves as the very ideal of what a filmmaker should be.”
Duffy
In the second chapter of her book, (Not) Getting Paid to Do What You Love: Gender, Social Media, and Aspirational Work, Brooke Erin Duffy explores aspirational and invisible labor in creative media industries. Criticizing the dichotomized relationship between Mr. Breadwinner and Mrs. Consumer, she examines how these unnatural and unneutral gender-based constructions deems men belonging to men in the public sphere and woman belonging to the domestic sphere. She argues that the advertisements in the twentieth century such as the ads that focused on the middle-class housewives powered the representation of such stereotypes which “helped to shape a limited—and limiting—ideal of domestic femininity.” While acknowledging that while female workers “made substantial gains” since the women’s liberation movement, Duffy asserts that women were “expected to engage in emotional or immaterial labor.” She also mentions another “pink ghetto” in the creative industries where college students are shaping a culture of unpaid internships “to pad their resumes and schmooze with prospective employers.” Using the example of fashion bloggers and aspiring fashion entrepreneur to elaborate on aspirational labor, Duffy argues that “while men dominate more prestigious creative roles as well as technical and craft fields, women are concentrated in marketing, communications, and service roles.”
