Uploaded a song I made back in 2022 to Newgrounds.
It's a very basic song made with a super rudimentary music program called Rytmik but I'd say if your looking for something to make some quick video game, Lavender Town-esque, 8-bit songs then you could certainly use worse. It's only $17 for the base pack and it is on sale quite frequently. As I'm writing this it's actually only $5.
Wouldn't really classify what I've made here as a song, more of just a repetitive loop. I haven't touched the program probably since I made this but I remember this pretty much being about the full scale of what you can do with it. There are a ton of other add-ons you can buy that probably add more to Rytmik but I can't say if it's worth it or not. Personally I think just using the base program is enough for a wide range of things but I can't deny there are limitations.

Become an Advance Reader for Duck Prints Press!
Tumblr media
Reviews are essential for showing prospective readers that we’re publishing awesome books that they want to buy and read. We’re looking to recruit an active group of people who post reviews of our work, and to do that we need your help! For the first time, we’re offering Advance Reader Copies (ARCs) of one of our projects: Aether Beyond the Binary, our most recent anthology, featuring 17 stories of characters outside the gender binary exploring modern-esque aetherpunk worlds.
How it works: You see this post. You think, oh, I love reading! I love leaving reviews! I want to join the Duck Prints Press Reviewer Program! Then, you go and read the rules for our Reviewer Program. And, if everything there sounds like something you can do, you fill out the form, and – we’ll be in touch! Even better: this program isn’t only for Aether Beyond the Binary, and isn’t only for “advance” titles. Our reviewers are encouraged to claim titles that are currently released, too, to help build up a robust collection of reviews of Duck Prints Press titles!
Requirements:
You must be over 18 years old.
You must be prepared to post reviews on Goodreads and/or Storygraph.
You must also post the review on the appropriate listing on the Duck Prints Press webstore (for advance titles, you’ll have to wait ’til we list them there).
Upon acceptance to the program, you must join the Duck Prints Press Book Lover’s Server.
Reviews must be at least 100 words long must and engage with the actual content of the work being reviewed.
Reviews must be left within 6 months of claiming a title, or you will be removed from the program.
What isn’t Required:
That the reviews be positive. Reviews are for readers. We require that reviews be honest to your own experience of the work, not that they be glowing.
That you post the reviews to social media. Doing so is definitely a bonus, but you don’t have to.
That you associate yourself publicly with the review-leaving (beyond using a valid Goodreads and/or Storygraph account). As in, you don’t have to say, “I, (your name here), reviewed this book” or link your book website accounts with your existing social media presence or anything like that, nor do we request any demographic information beyond confirmation of your age.
That you purchase anything. Absolutely no purchase necessary!
What You Get:
A e-book copy (ePub and/or PDF) of the work you’re reviewing. We do not provide physical ARCs.
After you post your first review, you’ll get a coupon for 10% off a purchase from the Duck Prints Press webstore!
For every ten reviews you post, you can claim a freebie sticker from among our sticker offerings, if you want. (You’ll have to provide a snail mail address to get this, of course.)
A community of fun book-lovers to hang out with! (You can get that even without joining the ARC program, though – our Book Lover’s Discord is open to everyone.)
We’re accepting applicants for claiming Aether Beyond the Binary ARCs through April 10th, 2024. On the 11th, we’ll randomly select 25 of applicants to receive ARC copies of Aether Beyond the Binary. Everyone else will still be entirely welcome in the program and invited to start with a different, back-catalog book or story to review. We’ll make another pool of Aether Beyond the Binary ARCs available in May.
So… those are the basics. Interested? Go read the full rules, then apply to be a Duck Prints Press ARC reader TODAY!

just read a delightful OT3 story in another fandom involving hot baths and massages, and now I am directly yoinking a bunch of its beats so I can tell myself a bedtime story about Lisa and Kaeya bullying Jean into a hot bath and massages. 10/10, do recommend

Hi there!
Do you enjoy reviews and recommendations of everything from picture books to fanfics to mildly psychedelic music?
Are you interested in half-coherent descriptions of possibly interesting library programs?
Do you like to listen to (read) me ramble?
Don't you want to know about the extreme middle-agedness of the person behind this blog?
WELL THEN, have I got the post for you!
It's exactly what it says! It's organized into nice lists with boldfaced items and headings in larger fonts! It has a lot of @sunnymarbles in it! It has quite a few of YOU (or at least people on Tumblr who may in fact not see this at all unless I tag them) on it, too, but likely just once each, for something you wrote! Except @destinyandcoins who is on there twice for different reasons! @dannypageoflight is oddly enough NOT in it! Sorry Dan! You have apparently done nothing interesting this year!

The image showcases a classroom environment where students are actively engaged with their laptops, suggesting a focus on digital learning. The prominent text overlay, “IS IGNOU’S ONLINE MCA WORTH YOUR TIME AND MONEY?” highlights a critical question about the value and return on investment of the Indira Gandhi National Open University’s (IGNOU) online Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program. This image is part of a campaign aimed at informing and guiding prospective students about the benefits and considerations of enrolling in this distance education course.

I saw a poll about doing formal reviews of AO3 works that horrified me so thoroughly that I don't want to reblog it here, but it DID get me wondering about how many folks on Tumblr post reviews of original works they read. :D
(note that I don't care how often you post reviews, once or a hundred times still counts as a yes. :D )
reblog for reach? I can't think of anything clever to ask y'all to put in the tags, lmao, but I'd still love if this one circulated at least a little, I get the sense very few people post reviews but I'm curious.

#personal post#will delete later#every day hate this job a little more#and it's getting really really hard to fake giving a fuck#but job hopping seems like such a bad idea right now because *waves at the economy and the news and the job market*#but it's just. it's not good.#and i think my boss is cottoning on to the fact that i'm dissatisfied with what i'm doing#like in our review she asked me what i liked about the job and i said the people#and that's true#the people are really nice#but the work does not interest me in the slightest and i hate it so goddamn much#they keep roping me into fucking social media shit and i HATE IT#i have no interest or care for LinkedIn#and to that end they have me doing fucking graphics and i do not have a good visual sense#frankly i'm at a point where i just want things off of my plate and that's making me a little sloppy#and that is NOT good#god fucking damn. ya know.#*sighhhh* anyway#i do think she can see that i'm not hooked in here#she keeps talking about things that i should be doing to make myself 'sticky' at the organization#meaning things to do to get my name and face out there more#but i don't....care to be#i didn't sign up for the mentorship program that she wanted me to so that'll be an eventual fun conversation#and she keeps telling me to add things to our team meeting agenda#but like. i'm not gonna add something that has no relevance to anyone else?? just to talk?#i do my work and i keep my head down and i go home and why is that such a problem????

#one of my silly little goals this year is to talk more about my accomplishments even though they aren’t super recent#I’m tired of resigning myself to being a burnt out former gifted kid. I studied at Oxford for a term.#I taught a college class. I TA’d for two other college classes. and volunteer TA’d for the department’s hardest course offering#because I was already being used as a TA that semester for a different class and the professor still wanted someone to run review sessions#I had professors fighting over me to do work and research for them! I had departments fighting over me! I did summer research!#I was the first person in my department in nearly a decade to ask to do a senior thesis. for fun.#I ran programs and clubs and I was a writing tutor for the writing center AND the resume lab/career center#I was the only person in my writing professor’s tenure to earn a 100 on my research paper for that stupid fucking class#in high school I was second in my class and did it while writing one-act plays for production and doing district choirs and acting#I’m so so so tired of beating myself up and falling to my knees and doing penance for the past 4 years.#I fumbled some stuff at the start of my 20’s. I’m an adult with ADHD that no one clocked while I was growing up.#I was supposed to go to St Andrews for an MLitt and then the pandemic happened and I had to withdraw.#I just need to get over it and stop agonizing over every misstep I’ve made since college#otherwise I’m never going to make it out of my 20’s alive#so yeah. for those of you who don’t know! I am a silly cumdrunk braindead good girl PART-TIME#the rest of the time I’m clawing my way back to the high standards I set for myself from first grade onward#my stuff#ignore me i’m rambling
