PICK A PIC! What’s coming to you in April?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
*Reminder to just mediate and focus on how the images make you feel, not how they look & During this reading if it don’t apply, let it fly and let yourself be loved <333**
The Fool, The Tower, Ace of Pentacles
For you guys April might bring a fresh start, a new journey, or a leap of faith. You could feel ready to try something new and take risks, perhaps stepping out of your comfort zone. For many of your this could be a new job your anxious to start or even travel.
The tower here indicates that this change in your day-to-day routine could come unexpectedly and dramatically. While this might feel unsettling, it's often necessary for growth. There could be an event or revelation that shakes things up but ultimately leads to transformation.
A sense of new beginnings in terms of material or financial opportunities is here. After the disruption of The Tower, there’s a potential for stability or a fresh opportunity to create abundance in your life. Oooh you know what vibe I just got? If you’ve ever seen those Ted Talk or other videos where the person is a current successful ceo or something and they are talking about their past difficulties starting their business. That’s the vibe for you this month. Yes, you’ll see some setbacks, but ultimate success. Learn to play both the present you and the future one, as they are in tandem.
Overall, April may start with new possibilities, but expect some disruptions or surprises that will eventually lead to opportunities for growth, especially in your material or financial world. Just keep calm and carry on, you’ll be fine is what I’m hearing! *re-reading this for typos and idk why i just got called to tell you that yes, for some of you what you have been suspecting is anxiety really is anxiety* :/
Pile 2.
The Magician, Three of Pentacles, Ten of Cups
What a positive pile! You have all the tools you need to manifest your career or financial goals. If you're looking to advance or create something new, this is the month where you can use your skills to make things happen. Start that business idea or new job application. Remember: Baby steps are key!
You might even work closely with others on a project or see progress through working together with colleagues. Your efforts will be recognized, and cooperation will lead to success.
Overall really in terms of career, there’s potential for emotional fulfillment. Don’t feel guilty for your newfound pathways to success, as for some of you i’m feeling a heavy energy here like you might become the richest in your family and you feel guilty that everyone else is poorer. Remember that that financial success can also bring emotional satisfaction not only for yourself, but loved ones. It is a blessing we must cherish.
April will bring about opportunities for you to apply your skills in your career. Teamwork will be essential, and there’s a chance for emotional satisfaction in your work. Whether it’s a promotion, new project, or a financial breakthrough, your hard work could pay off in a fulfilling way :)) Also random side note are you a Pisces/Aquarius? If not still okay but for those two specifically i’m hearing that this month will be way easier than last month for sure.
Pile 3.
Two of Cups, The Lovers, Page of Wands
Aww my new relationship pile, now this doesn’t have to mean romantic relationship but when i was shuffling I heard “sexy latin lover” lolll. If you're in a relationship, this is a sign that your bond could deepen and become more balanced. If you're single, this could be a great time for meeting someone new who shares a strong connection with you.
There might be a deeper commitment or a significant decision about the direction of a romantic relationship in April. If you're already in a partnership, it could be time to make choices that strengthen your bond or clarify your intentions. Okay also for some I can’t lie I am weirdly getting a breakup energy but trust me when I say its for the best! This wont be a cry your heart out, watch clueless and dye your hair kinda breakup but the kind that let you find yourself. You know (!!) that this separation is for the best and with that page here I’m getting serious Eat Pray Love vibes. Spring is blooming babe and so are you!
Pile 4.
The Hermit, Strength, No third card didn’t want to come out :/
This is a month for solitude, spiritual exploration, or simply finding clarity in your inner world. Idk why I just heard ‘strategy’. This is your level up period. Mentally, spirituality and emotionally you are glowing up. Some of you way even be literally graduating as well and glowing up in life.
Strength card being here points to inner resilience and personal power. You might discover your ability to overcome challenges with patience and courage. This card reminds you that you have the strength to face any personal obstacles that arise in April.
You honestly might even be sad? this month. I don’t even feel like sad is the right word for it, more like sonder? Please pile 4 don’t feel ashamed to let yourself be introspective once in a while, god knows the world needs it. It’s a reminder that, no matter what struggles you may face, there’s light at the end of the tunnel. You could feel a renewed sense of optimism and faith in yourself and the world around you once you come out of this period. Think of this month as your meditation retreat instead of a shut-in.
alright guys thanks so much for reading! Hope to be back soon! <3

why you’re wrong about quitting shifting
so, you’re ready to give up on reality shifting? let me get this straight—you’re throwing in the towel because it’s “too hard” or because you haven’t succeeded yet? honestly, that’s not a reflection of the practice; it’s a reflection of your mindset. i’m not here to sugarcoat it for you. this whole “i can’t shift” narrative is not only false—it’s lazy. let’s dismantle this flawed thinking piece by piece.
1. “i can’t shift.” wrong. you haven’t shifted yet. stop acting like you’re hardwired to fail because you’re not. stop convincing yourself that it’s impossible when it’s more likely you just haven’t given it the time and effort it deserves. imagine trying to start a fire with two sticks. most people wouldn’t get a spark on the first try. does that mean fire is a myth or that they’re incapable? no—it means they need better technique, more patience, and consistent effort. shifting is your fire. just because you haven’t seen the flames yet doesn’t mean they’re not coming. every moment you’ve spent trying has been building heat; quitting now ensures you’ll never see the light.
2. your impatience is not proof of impossibility. let’s be real: you’re expecting results on your timeline, and when it doesn’t happen, you declare shifting a failure. that’s not logic—that’s entitlement. imagine planting a tree and stomping on the roots because it didn’t grow tall overnight. that’s essentially what you’re doing. you have no idea how close you might be to success because you’re too focused on the absence of instant gratification.
3. you’re underestimating your brain. your mind is adaptable, but it needs consistency to form new pathways. reality shifting involves rewiring your entire perception of existence—it’s not something you’ll master just by wishing for it. the tools—meditation, affirmations, visualization—aren’t magic tricks; they’re exercises for your subconscious. if you quit now, you’re not only rejecting shifting but also your brain’s potential to grow.
4. your perspective on “failure” is flawed. let’s get one thing straight: failure isn’t the lack of success; it’s the decision to stop trying. every attempt you’ve made so far has laid the groundwork for future breakthroughs. you think those hours scripting or visualizing are wasted? they’re not. every time you try, you’re training your mind to align with your desired reality. quitting means throwing all that progress away.
5. you’re putting shifting on a pedestal. you’re treating it like some mystical, unattainable miracle instead of what it really is: a practice. people have been shifting, lucid dreaming, astral projecting, and training their minds for centuries. the only difference is that they stuck with it. if they can do it, why not you? what makes you the exception? the truth is, you’re not.
here’s the thing: the act of giving up is far more definitive than the idea that you “can’t shift.” quitting guarantees failure, while continuing guarantees possibility. do you really want to shut the door on that possibility just because it didn’t happen on your schedule?
the bottom line is this: shifting is as much about discipline as it is about desire. your current mindset isn’t just dismissing the practice; it’s dismissing your own potential. so, stop wallowing in disappointment and start recognizing that you’re not stuck—you’re learning. if you can’t handle that reality, then maybe shifting isn’t the problem.

Scavenging Love
This is a special gift just for @cogentsummoner! Happy Valentine's Day! :D
Tumblr media
Words: 1k
Summary: It's your first V-Day with Toshinori and you present him with your gift via a scavenger hunt.
It was your first official Valentine’s Day with Toshinori and your heart fluttered at the opportunity to do something special for him. His recent secretive behavior wasn’t lost on you, a dead giveaway he was planning something.
The sun was setting as you arrive home a little later than typical. Toshi humming quietly in the next room to himself brought a smile to your lips. Today you would make sure he knew just how special he is – not as All Might, the Symbol of Peace, but as Toshinori Yagi, the man you adore.
You greet him softly with a good evening, your heart lighting up as he smiles at you. “Good Evening, darling,” he replies while gently embracing you.
An impish grin crosses your lips as you hand him a small folded piece of paper..
He looks at you with mirth before reading the contents. Find me in the place where our smiles are framed in joy.
“It’s your first clue,” you say, grinning.
There is excitement in his eyes. “Is this a scavenger hunt? For me?”
“Just for you.”
He kisses your forehead before running around like an excited school boy. As he rushes to find the first clue as you slip out the back door where you could still peek in on his progress but still be near his final surprise.
He stood next to the nightstand in the room you share where his favorite photo sat of the two of you laughing so hard that neither one of you noticed the picture being taken. Attached to the back was the second clue. I am hiding under the place you unwind each day.
Toshinori exclaims loud enough for you to hear, “My chair!”
It warms your heart to see how much he is enjoying this, running to his chair with a toothy grin before sinking into it. After relaxing a moment and re-reading the clue he uses his hand to feel along the underside of the chair until he comes away successful, grasping his prize. The third clue.
Look for me in the pocket of something to keep you warm with my love, protecting you from the cool chill of winter.
Hardly able to contain himself, he hurries over to the front closet, looking inside while you watch him from nearby. A stylish black coat is hanging within. Putting it on, he spins around while his hand pulls a letter out from the pocket.
The excitement in the air is palpable and your breath catches as you watch him read the beautiful letter telling him about the positive impact he has had on your life and the overflowing love you have for him. At the end is the final clue.
Tears well up in his eyes as he looks around for you.
Let the stars guide your way. Follow the twinkling lights to where love overflows with warmth in the winter.
You had been working tirelessly for weeks, diligently keeping his curiosity at bay. Your face is full of adoration as you watch him take a couple of unsteady steps venturing out the front door. He is met with the crisp cool air mixing with the scent of pine. The soft glow of lantern lights lined the pathway with the trees.
As he makes his way down the path he sees you standing at the end, fidgeting with your coat. Your heart soars when you see his face revealing how touched he is by the relaxing haven. There is a gorgeous bench with a warm blanket draped over it at the end of the pathway. Light from a crackling fire pit flickers as you hand him a steamy mug of hot chocolate.
“So this is what you’ve been busy working on,” he says softly while slipping an arm around your waist, taking in the surrounding beauty.
“I really wanted to create a safe space for you. A place that was peaceful,” you tell him with a broad smile, guiding him to sit at the bench.
“I don’t know what to say. It’s so peaceful,”
“You don’t have to say anything. Seeing the joy on your face is more than enough for me.”
He stares lovingly into your eyes as he reaches out to take your chin between his thumb and forefinger, lifting it delicately.
“Thank you,” he said before leaning in to gently press his lips against yours. “Now it’s your turn.”
“Me?”
“I wanted to give you something, something you can hold onto anytime you need to be reminded of what you mean to me,” he says with a deep, warm voice. Reaching into his pocket he pulls out something wooden with a leather cord wrapped around it, laying it in your hands as he unravels it. His cheeks flush while he sheepishly admits to not having a box for it.
You hold the pendant, a sunflower and a daisy carved into the surface. You look up at him in surprise, “Did you make this?”
“I know it’s not perfect—,” your fingers press against his lips as you stop him mid-sentence.
“Yes it is.”
His shoulders relax at your delight. “Many times I feel like falling apart, but you hold me together with your patience and kindness. You are the light in my world. Every time you look at it, let it remind you of us.”
He rests a large hand against your cheek and your breath catches. You speak in a trembling voice, “Toshi, this is beautiful. You are beautiful. I-”
This time he stops you before you can complete the sentence, gently resting his forehead against yours and speaking softly. “No. You are the beautiful one, darling and because of you I have more than I ever thought I deserved. You are everything to me.”
Your hand moves up to grasp his hand, nuzzling your face into it.
“I love you,” he tells you simply with shining eyes.
“And I love you.”
He hums happily, surrounded by a quiet winter sanctuary as you rest in his arms on the bench together. Your fingers trace the hand-carved pendant resting over your heart; the stars twinkling in the sky-- eternal witnesses to your display of love to each other.

"India’s announcement that it aims to reach net zero emissions by 2070 and to meet fifty percent of its electricity requirements from renewable energy sources by 2030 is a hugely significant moment for the global fight against climate change. India is pioneering a new model of economic development that could avoid the carbon-intensive approaches that many countries have pursued in the past – and provide a blueprint for other developing economies.
The scale of transformation in India is stunning. Its economic growth has been among the highest in the world over the past two decades, lifting of millions of people out of poverty. Every year, India adds a city the size of London to its urban population, involving vast construction of new buildings, factories and transportation networks. Coal and oil have so far served as bedrocks of India’s industrial growth and modernisation, giving a rising number of Indian people access to modern energy services. This includes adding new electricity connections for 50 million citizens each year over the past decade.
The rapid growth in fossil energy consumption has also meant India’s annual CO2 emissions have risen to become the third highest in the world. However, India’s CO2 emissions per person put it near the bottom of the world’s emitters, and they are lower still if you consider historical emissions per person. The same is true of energy consumption: the average household in India consumes a tenth as much electricity as the average household in the United States.
India’s sheer size and its huge scope for growth means that its energy demand is set to grow by more than that of any other country in the coming decades. In a pathway to net zero emissions by 2070, we estimate that most of the growth in energy demand this decade would already have to be met with low-carbon energy sources. It therefore makes sense that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced more ambitious targets for 2030, including installing 500 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity, reducing the emissions intensity of its economy by 45%, and reducing a billion tonnes of CO2.
These targets are formidable, but the good news is that the clean energy transition in India is already well underway. It has overachieved its commitment made at COP 21- Paris Summit [a.k.a. 2015, at the same conference that produced the Paris Agreement] by already meeting 40% of its power capacity from non-fossil fuels- almost nine years ahead of its commitment, and the share of solar and wind in India’s energy mix have grown phenomenally. Owing to technological developments, steady policy support, and a vibrant private sector, solar power plants are cheaper to build than coal ones. Renewable electricity is growing at a faster rate in India than any other major economy, with new capacity additions on track to double by 2026...
Subsidies for petrol and diesel were removed in the early 2010s, and subsidies for electric vehicles were introduced in 2019. India’s robust energy efficiency programme has been successful in reducing energy use and emissions from buildings, transport and major industries. Government efforts to provide millions of households with fuel gas for cooking and heating are enabling a steady transition away from the use of traditional biomass such as burning wood. India is also laying the groundwork to scale up important emerging technologies such as hydrogen, battery storage, and low-carbon steel, cement and fertilisers..."
-via IEA (International Energy Agency), January 10, 2022
Note: And since that's a little old, here's an update to show that progress is still going strong:

🎬🎥 Katrina Chiovon talks about her life and career in the entertainment industry. "The Glitch," a comedic science fiction short that Katrina produced and directed, was shown at the Chelsea Film Festival. She's a very talented person. Problems with sound quality and a sound guy contracting COVID during production weren't the only obstacles Katrina overcame; she showed remarkable perseverance and resolve to finish the project.
🛠️🔊Technical difficulties with the sound and the complete loss of all film progress because of an accident in the sound studio were among the many obstacles that the production of "The Glitch" had to overcome. Katrina had an unwavering commitment to her endeavor even though she had periods of frustration and wanted to quit. She stresses the significance of perseverance and creative problem-solving in hardship.
🏠💔As a young girl, Katrina dealt with a lot of upheaval and difficulty at home. Katrina was eventually placed in a foster home due to her family's situation. She loved her mother deeply, but their connection was strained because she couldn't understand her decisions in light of her life.
🎭🌆Katrina always felt a strong pull toward the arts, especially dancing and acting, even as a little girl. When Katrina recalls her love of acting from childhood, she remembers trying out for a role in a Brady Bunch movie. She arrived in New York City at seventeen and a half, seeking opportunities such as modeling for Ralph Lauren and Glamour magazine. Katrina overcame the dangers and difficulties of growing up street-smart and alone in the city.
🌟👼Despite Katrina’s many hardships and disturbing incidents while residing in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, she persevered and found solutions. Even though she was aware of the threats she faced, she attributes her survival to gut feelings and, maybe, a guardian angel. She exemplifies the strength and determination to follow one's passions despite challenges. Katrina also sought acting roles, landing parts in films including Vendetta Wounds and The City on the Edge. Her film debut was in Christopher Corulla's Old Secrets No Lies (2010). The picture had its world premiere that year at the Tribeca Film Festival, and it featured the late Vinnie Vella.
💪🙏 Katrina demonstrates the significance of self-belief and resilience in the face of adversity. Her unwavering dedication to filmmaking and the arts propelled her through challenges, culminating in a successful debut at the Chelsea Film Festival. Her inspiring message resonates with aspiring artists and entrepreneurs, urging them to embrace challenges as pathways to growth. Let your determination turn obstacles into stepping stones to realizing your dreams.

Democrats are charging out of their national convention with enthusiasm and determination ― and in far better shape than seemed possible just a few weeks ago, when then-presumptive nominee President Joe Biden was headed for likely defeat.
Vice President Kamala Harris has wiped out Biden’s deficit in the polls, and now holds small but discernible leads over Donald Trump in both national and swing state surveys. She’s also expanded the electoral map, putting in play states such as North Carolina that seemed lost to Democrats when Biden was leading the ticket. As of this writing, Nate Silver’s predictive model suggests Harris is a 52.8% favorite to win.
It will take a few days for pollsters to figure out whether Harris got the traditional convention bounce, pushing her support even higher, or whether she got a version of it beforehand via the burst of activity and favorable press coverage around her campaign launch.
Either way, it’s hard to look back on the week in Chicago and deem it anything but a smashing political success, from the (still reverberating) call to arms by former first lady Michelle Obama to the (still circulating) sight of Gus Walz, son of vice presidential nominee Minnesota Gov. Tim, tearfully telling the crowd “that’s my dad!”
Harris, for her part, gave what my colleague Jen Bendery’s story called the “speech of her life.” Plenty of other analysts rendered similar judgments.
With a passionate, near-flawless delivery, Harris introduced herself as the daughter of immigrants who valued virtue and hard work, promising to fight for the middle class and vowing to protect democracy. She wrapped herself metaphorically in the flag and what she thinks it represents to the nation’s non-MAGA majority. The laser focus on trying to win over swing voters was impossible to miss, in part because it was such an overriding theme all week ― whether through cultural symbolism (like having the aging veterans of Walz’s championship high school football team appear on stage) or more overt outreach (like having former House Republican Adam Kinzinger give a prime-time address).
But the appeal to the political middle had some telling substantive elements too.
Insofar as Harris and Democrats talked about policy, they focused on causes such as bringing down prescription drug prices, providing paid leave or helping families to pay for child care ― ambitions considerably more modest than the loftier, more progressive “Medicare for All” calls that dominated the last Democratic presidential campaign and to which Harris herself once pledged fealty. Harris also went out of her way to back a bipartisan immigration bill that would tighten security without creating a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants already here, which is a provision progressives have frequently called essential.
The platform evolved, with party leaders scrubbing a call to end the death penalty ― quietly, until my colleague Jessica Schulberg found out about it. They also refused requests to feature a Palestinian speaker on the conflict in Gaza. That part wasn’t so quiet, or unanticipated. In fact, the prospect of protests and disruptions over Biden’s support for Israel had fueled speculation that Chicago 2024 was going to end up as tumultuous as Chicago 1968. But as HuffPost’s Daniel Marans and Jonathan Nicholson observed, the fissures never blew up into 1968-style conflicts ― not over Gaza, or any other issues for that matter. On the contrary, the Democrats seemed improbably and almost impossibly unified, with would-be progressive dissidents like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) sounding downright giddy about the Harris-Walz ticket.
What explains this unified enthusiasm? Three likely reasons come to mind. One in particular has a lot to do with how the party has changed in recent years ― and what it might be able to do if Harris manages to win.
Democrats In Array
One of these likely reasons is the threat Trump poses to individual liberties, the rule of law and democracy — threats progressives feel every bit as keenly as the more moderates in the party. These threats almost certainly seem even more menacing now after so many months watching Biden struggle.
Staring into the political abyss this way has been known to focus the mind.
Another possible factor is Harris’ identity. Electing the first woman president, not to mention the first Black woman and the first Asian woman, would have obvious symbolic value. But it would also have more practical effects — namely, bringing a new perspective to the presidency and making it easier for other women, and other nonwhite politicians, to make their own way to the Oval Office.
Progressives almost by definition care about these things, enough that it can help counterbalance appeal for politicians who see the ticket as less progressive than they might like. Barack Obama in 2008 benefited from just such a dynamic, as The New York Times’ David Leonhardt pointed out on Friday: “He was more moderate than some other Democratic candidates that year, yet he still excited many progressives.”
Harris notably hasn’t talked about herself as groundbreaker, and the campaign hasn’t made that possibility a focus in the way that, say, Hillary Clinton’s did in 2016. But that’s of a piece with Harris’ broader strategy since appeals tied to race or class can alienate some of the swing voters she’s trying to win. The voters who feel otherwise, meanwhile, don’t need reminders.
This brings us to the third, and potentially most important, theory for progressive enthusiasm: Democrats have gotten an awful lot done since Biden took office. An awful lot of it consisted of initiatives or reforms progressives have long championed. And most importantly, it all happened with progressives having a big seat at the table.
The most significant and visible of these accomplishments was the clean green energy investments of the Inflation Reduction Act, which add up (arguably) to the most important climate change legislation in history, plus the law’s health care provisions, which for the first time gave the federal government leverage over the prices of some high-priced drugs in Medicare.
But the list goes beyond that, to the appointment of aggressively pro-consumer and pro-labor officials at key federal agencies, and the burst of spending during the pandemic that (whatever its real or theorized effects on inflation) drove both unemployment and child poverty down to near-record levels.
All of these feel well short of the kinds of transformations progressives would prefer with, say, enactment of “Medicare for All.” But they had, are having or will have tangible, measurable effects on people’s lives — and are examples of the kind of achievements that might be possible if Harris wins and Democrats have control of both congressional houses again.
It so happens that these are also the kinds of achievements that animate up-and-coming party leaders, even if they are not members of the progressive wing — figures like Govs. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania and Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, or Sen. Raphael Warnock of Georgia. Not coincidentally, all gave Harris rousing endorsements in prime- time speeches.
But that too is part of the story about unity: The party’s “moderate” wing today feels pretty strongly about using the federal government to make people’s lives better, just as it does about protecting the freedoms Trump threatens. They may emphasize it differently — focusing more exclusively on the Inflation Reduction Act’s clean energy manufacturing jobs, for example, and a bit less on its environmental impact. They still land in the same place on policy.
Whether these good feelings would carry through enough to enact a legislative agenda is obviously a separate question and one that is very secondary to the question of whether Democrats even get that opportunity.
The presidential race is still a toss-up, or maybe even a bit worse than that for Harris if the polling now is missing Trump votes the way it did in 2016 and again in 2020. Republicans remain by most accounts a slight favorite to hold at least one house of Congress.
But Harris is coming out of Chicago on a roll, with a party behind her as she reaches out to the swing voters she needs to win. That’s a pretty good place to be.

Kamala Harris' Rise to Prominence and
Political Vision
Background and Achievements
Kamala Harris is the current Vice President of the United States, making history as the first woman, first Black American, and first South Asian American to hold the position. Her rise to prominence is marked by a series of notable achievements throughout her career in public service.
Harris was born in Oakland, California, to immigrant parents from India and Jamaica. After earning her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, she began her career as a prosecutor in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. She later served as the District Attorney of San Francisco from 2004 to 2011, and as the Attorney General of California from 2011 to 2017.
In 2016, Harris was elected to the United States Senate, becoming the second African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the Senate. During her tenure, she gained recognition for her work on issues such as healthcare reform, immigration reform, and criminal justice reform.
Political Vision and Proposed Policies
Kamala Harris' political vision revolves around promoting equality, justice, and opportunity for all Americans. Her proposed policies aim to address various critical issues facing the nation, including:
Women's Rights: Harris has been a vocal advocate for protecting and advancing women's rights, including reproductive rights and equal pay for equal work. She has pledged to fight against any efforts to roll back progress made in these areas.
Healthcare Reform: Harris has supported efforts to expand access to affordable healthcare, including protecting and strengthening the Affordable Care Act (ACA). She has also proposed measures to lower prescription drug costs and improve mental health services.
Climate Change: Harris recognizes the urgent need to address climate change and has proposed a comprehensive plan to transition the United States to a clean energy economy, including investing in renewable energy sources and promoting sustainable practices.
Immigration Reform: Harris supports comprehensive immigration reform that provides a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and addresses the root causes of migration, such as violence, poverty, and corruption in countries of origin.
Criminal Justice Reform: As a former prosecutor, Harris has advocated for reforms to the criminal justice system, including addressing racial disparities, reducing mass incarceration, and promoting rehabilitation and re-entry programs for formerly incarcerated individuals.
Potential Impact and Challenges
Kamala Harris' political vision and proposed policies have the potential to shape a more equitable and inclusive future for the United States. However, she may face significant challenges in implementing her agenda, particularly in a divided political landscape.
One of the key challenges Harris may face is navigating the complex relationship between the executive and legislative branches of government. Enacting significant policy changes often requires cooperation and compromise across party lines, which can be difficult to achieve in a polarized political environment.
Additionally, Harris' progressive policies may face opposition from more conservative factions who prioritize traditional values or have different economic and social priorities. Overcoming ideological divisions and building consensus on contentious issues will be crucial for the success of her agenda.
Despite these challenges, Harris' experience, determination, and commitment to her principles position her as a formidable figure in shaping the future direction of the United States. Her ability to inspire and unite diverse constituencies, coupled with her pragmatic approach to policymaking, could prove invaluable in navigating the complexities of the American political landscape.

Note
This input is about allergy, shrinking, dick growth . A couple is walking in the park in the middle of the afternoon, when one of them starts to sneeze, every time he sneezes he gets shorter in height and his dick starts to grow.
I'm not usually a fan of anything getting smaller, or of bodily functions, but it's good to try new things! This was a fun thought experiment, I fell into it more than I thought I would. Dick growth I'll jump at any day, but I have almost no frame of reference for what makes a good shrinking fic (or a good sneezing fic if that's a thing, idk). But I made an attempt lol
1161 words
- - - - -
"No, ok, like touch your tongue to the roof of your mouth," Juan mumbled, tilting his head back to demo the technique to the taller man. "It's supposed to trick some nerve pathway that goes to your brain and cancels the sneeze."
Ryan squinted in concentration as his tongue prodded incessantly along the ridges of his mouth. "Wait, tilt your head back down," he said to his partner. "I need to--choo!" His face whipped into his elbow on cue as he sneezed twice.
He felt his entire body clench. A shiver spread through his nervous system, centered around his crotch, his balls contracting with each convulsion. Through a haze of disorientation, his underwear felt as oddly stuffed as his sinuses.
"Your allergies aren't usually this bad," Juan muttered, cradling his boyfriend's head in concern. Pollen season was in full swing, but they had been cooped up all winter, and, like half the city, had been itching to spend some time in the expansive nature preserve in the middle of town as soon as it got above 65 degrees.
"I think there's more pollen now, or it's coming earlier in the season, or it's evolving or something. I think I read something about it. You know, some effect from climate change I--I--CHOO!" Ryan sneezed hard enough to send him slightly off balance. He reached for where Juan's hand was supposed to be, instead bumping awkwardly into his elbow.
Juan got the message and steadied his partner. "Maybe let's head home until the plants end whatever this vendetta is against you. Looks like spring is in full attack mode, you're all hunched over."
"What do you mean?" asked Ryan, sniffling. He was standing straight but did seem to be slouching into his shoulders, his hands on his waistline, self consciously readjusting his shorts. They felt weirdly loose in the waist and weirdly tight in the crotch. "I don't know, maybe I lost some weight over the winter. But why you're almost eye level...are those new sh--choo!"
Ryan held his arm up to sneeze into his elbow, letting go of his shorts, which slipped low enough on his hips to reveal the top of his jockstrap. Should've worn a belt, he thought, as he came out of the full body shiver and back to his senses. He tried to surreptitiously adjust the pouch, which had progressed from stuffy to constricting. His eyes widening in surprise as he brushed against a sizeable--and unexpected--bulge. His dick felt totally soft, yet strangely heavy, twitching with unusual sensitivity.
"What's wrong?" asked Juan, holding the back of his hand up to Ryan's forehead. "You look emaciated, you need some rest."
They turned to head back home, Ryan's face a contortion of congestion and confusion. He was having to adjust his gait to keep up with Juan's speedy tempo, which usually wasn't a problem for Ryan thanks to his long legs. As he picked up the pace, he become acutely aware of the engorged member overfilling the pouch of his jock, bouncing back and forth between his legs enough to catch the attention of more than a few passers by. Even through the fabric of his baggy clothes.
"Hold on," Ryan said, squeezing his boyfriend's hand. His voice had taken on a heavier quality, and he frowned through the pressure in his sinuses. "Can we slow down a bit? I'm a little..."
His eyes rolled back with a full body convulsion, then he whipped forward and bent over, sneezing three times in quick succession.
"Ugh, sorry," he muttered, resting a hand on his Juan's shoulder. "I'm a little woozy..." He trailed off, staring dumbfounded at his boyfriend's face, whose eye level was now above his own. "What are you..." he looked down to see Juan's feet flat on the ground in the same old kicks he always wore. "Did you get...taller?"
"Uh, no," Juan whispered. He returned his partner's dumbfounded stare, yet focused mainly on the sausage that Ryan had apparently been smuggling in his underwear, revealed in broad daylight by the shorts that had fallen to the ground. It was more than impressive on its own, but looked massive on his small frame.
Juan was very familiar with his boyfriend's dick and very familiar with his boyfriend's underwear choices. And he was certain that this morning Ryan had not had a donkey dick heavy enough to reveal the top few inches of shaft. "Babe, what is happening?" he stammered, bending down and yanking Ryan's shorts back up before too much of the general public got a show.
"Well I can't be..." Ryan's voice dropped to a whisper of perplexion, "...shrinking..."
"Well that certainly isn't," Juan quipped, eyes wide at the ridiculous bulge in Ryan's shorts. "Are you on something? A new medication?"
"No, nothing," said Ryan. "I just can't stop...sneezing."
They kept walking back toward home, Juan racking his brain for some sort of explanation as Ryan stuffed his hands in his pockets to distract from the comical bulge swinging wildly with each step. He widened his gait, trying to not make it too obvious he was accommodating some disproportionately large balls.
"Maybe it's something you ate recently?" asked Juan. "This sort of thing doesn't just happen."
"I don't know!" Ryan said with exasperation, grimacing at the pull of his sudden monster cock from his crotch. "I mean, I feel fine...mostly."
"Let's go to Urgent Care later."
"What are they gonna do about...this situation?" Ryan asked with nervous laughter.
"I don't know, at least bring the swelling down," Juan offered, gesturing at the prodigious bulge tucked against Ryan's leg.
"I don't think this thing is swollen. It feels...feels...ahh...CHOO!"
He stop in his tracks. Felt the fabric of his jock as his cock strained against the pouch with even more length, pushed forward by his steadily expanding balls. He looked up at his partner to confirm his fears, noticing Juan's eyes slightly farther away then they had been thirty seconds ago. His gaze shifted to the treeline around them, the pollen meandering in the breeze.
"I know this sounds crazy," said Ryan, "but do you think it's ah...ah..."
"Roof of your mouth," Juan reminded.
Ryan was able to catch most of the sneeze, except for a small hic that repeated several more times. His blood ran cold as he heard fabric popping. Then the rip of seams tearing away from his jockstrap. Then the brief relief of his cock set free in the fabric of his shorts, falling down until it dangled out of his right pant leg, bobbing just below his knee.
"...do you think it's...allergies?" he muttered, staring at the unrecognizable python whose mushroom head was being tickled by the rivulets of spring breeze, sending shivers of pleasure up his spine, followed by the telltale irritation in his nasal mucosa. "Oh fuck," he whispered, looking up at his boyfriend in panic.
He felt a big one coming on.

Conquering Fear: A Pathway to Fulfilling Your Dreams
youtube
Fear is an omnipresent emotion that we all experience at different stages of our lives. It’s that unsettling knot in your stomach and the nagging voice in your head whispering, "What if I fail?" or "What if I’m not good enough?" This powerful emotion serves as a major roadblock, keeping many individuals from attaining their dreams and potential. However, what if we reframed our perception of fear? Instead of viewing it as an obstacle, we might consider it a sign a signal indicating that something significant lies just beyond our comfort zones.
Understanding Fear: Your Hidden Ally
Fear isn’t inherently negative; it often arises when we are on the verge of pursuing something meaningful. When you find yourself gripped by fear, it suggests that what you are considering truly matters to you.
The Dual Nature of Fear
Fear as a Prison: It can restrict you holding back your ambitions, convincing you to surrender to a life of mediocrity.
Fear as a Signal: On the flip side, fear can indicate that you are about to embark on a journey of growth and achievement. If the endeavor didn’t hold any significance, fear wouldn’t be present.
Recognizing this dual nature is essential to overcoming fear. Instead of allowing fear to control your actions, embrace it as a signal that you are on the brink of something significant.
The Door of Opportunity
Imagine fear not as a brick wall blocking your path, but rather as a door that leads to your dreams. On the other side of that door, your aspirations await. The crucial question is: Will you open it?
When you consider taking that first step towards your dreams, the thought is often accompanied by physical reactions shaky legs, a racing heart. Yet, it is vital to acknowledge that these sensations are normal responses to stepping into the unknown.
What Lies Behind the Door of Fear:
Self-Discovery: Navigating through fear often leads to greater self-awareness and understanding.
Growth Opportunities: Every challenge faced presents a chance for personal growth and development.
Achievement: Every success story begins with someone who had the courage to act, despite their fear.
Failure: A Necessary Step in the Journey
A significant part of any journey towards your dreams is understanding and accepting the possibility of failure. Often, the fear of failure is paralyzing. However, every great achievement is built on a foundation of past mistakes and lessons learned. Failure is not the end; instead, it is an integral part of the process that propels you closer to your goals.
Redefining Failure:
Growth: Each stumble teaches invaluable lessons that cannot be gained otherwise.
Resilience: Overcoming setbacks builds perseverance, an essential trait for long-term success.
Courage to Continue: The only true failure is not attempting at all.
By choosing to act despite your fears, you allow yourself to inch closer to the life you envision. Each step, no matter how small, contributes to your journey.
Taking Action Against Fear
So, what’s holding you back today? Reflect on your dreams and the barriers you've erected due to fear. Have you been stalling because it feels impossible?
Brave Steps to Face Fear:
Acknowledge Your Fear: Identify what scares you and understand that it’s a natural part of the process.
Break Down Your Goals: Create achievable milestones that make the daunting seem manageable.
Take Action: Start with one small step now, not tomorrow or next week.
Develop a Support System: Surround yourself with encouraging individuals who motivate you to pursue your goals.
Reflect on Progress: Celebrate the small wins along the way to maintain motivation.
Fear has the power to control you only if you allow it to. By facing it head-on, taking action despite it, you will inevitably discover your dreams lying in wait on the other side. As you venture into the unknown, trust that what awaits is the best version of yourself a version capable of transforming dreams into reality.
Conclusion: Live Fearlessly
Life is a one-time journey filled with opportunities waiting to be seized. Don’t let fear dictate your path or the way you choose to live. You were born to chase those dreams. Take the first step today. Remember, true fulfillment comes from actions taken in the face of fear; the moment you choose to confront it is the moment you reclaim your power to change your life.
So, step outside your comfort zone embrace the fear, act despite it, and unlock the door to the life you’ve always wanted!

LCB-3 -> Canto 1: Chapter 13
This was definitely interesting to write, because there was very little to no dialogue in this chapter, with few interactions as well. Thankfully, Jekyll and Hyde's wandering off has ended, and I hope to not have to write another chapter like this haha. Enjoy! Masterpost Chapter 12 <--> Chapter 14
~o0o~
The painter stood to her feet, clutching her chest. Shi IDs work better on lower health… It shouldn’t… hurt this much…
The damage felt like Hyde’s insides had ruptured and exploded. Her heart thumped rapidly and everything ached as if her own muscles were being torn apart from the inside. She felt as if she would hurl anything she ate at any moment up. She glanced up, swallowing her agonizing pain and adjusting her sword. Her knees shook and buckled as she kidnapped the strength to stand, pushing through with all her might. The golden bough was right before her; she needed to find it as soon as possible. It would damage her pride to go back and apologize, anyway.
The voice boomed down the spire, echoing in the shadows. It mattered not to Hyde, but it was nonetheless distracting. There was no clue or indicator of where the voice came from, but it felt like the source was up the large tower. She glared at the spire that fell on top of her. Perhaps she should’ve been more observant of her surroundings instead of charging at the demon syndicate blindly for what he carried. There was nothing she could do about it now.
The painter calculated a proper path up the spire, seeing various pathways and success predictions to climb it quickly. Her speed was unmatched compared to other IDs she had tried; she felt like a cheetah in the Shi ID. She rushed toward the spire with great speed, flying on wings she could not see.
She had to make her way up it quickly. Hyde knew she wouldn’t succumb to receiving help and relying on her allies… they had shown no sign of appreciation or care toward her. She was not going to be saved, nor would she admit she needed to be. The work ahead belonged to her and her alone.
Jekyll’s plan wasn’t so bad. If she wants to stay with these bastards, she can. I’ll separate myself and go back to where I belong… Her memory blurred with the IDs, and the sheer mention of Jekyll being apart from her made her heart ache more than it already was. She clenched her chest, wincing and wrinkling her nose. What the hell is wrong with this version of me?
Hyde launched herself upward, easily passing the obstacle and making her way to the first floor of the spire, glancing around. She saw vague details of a playground. She raised her eyebrow. What the–
The ground started to stir. Parts of the ground crumbled inward, revealing various pebbles that piled up on each other before a monster-like leg stuck out from them.
Nah. Hyde didn’t waste any more time on the floor. Her feet fled the ground and sprinted past the first floor up to the second, not slowing down. My health is too low to face that many monsters…
However, the monsters kept unburying themselves on the floor. Hyde didn’t stop to observe the rest of the floors in her blitzing rush to climb up the tower. To her surprise, there wasn’t any resistance from the enemy; they were too slow and could not keep up with her speed. On each floor, various monsters rose from the soil, scaling in difficulty. However, none of them could catch her as she blazed past them, ascending to the third floor… fourth floor… she ran and dodged each enemy, unwilling to engage in combat with how low her health condition was. It would be rough trying to go back down the spire, but each one of the opponents couldn’t impede her progress going up.
Until they did.
By the time she reached the fourth floor, the enemies became incredibly numerous; various peccatulum blocked her path. The air grew thin as she reached the clouds in the sky, and it slowed her down just enough to force her to engage in combat. It didn’t stop her determination, but she had to clear a path to continue.
I see you have a death wish, Hyde didn’t waste any second. She swung her sword toward the mass of monsters, slicing a few of them perfectly. She blocked a few of their beginning attacks with ease, using her speed to her advantage. She tried to guess what type of peccatulum they were, but she could only recall information about the species from the Limbus Company handbook she read rather than specific details about them. All she knew was she had to kill them if she wanted to continue forward.
They lunged for her, using their sharp legs and big jaws to clamp down around her. They scraped open a few of Hyde’s wounds and scratched her skin deeply. They would leave scars, and Hyde wasn’t too happy when one of them decided to attack her head, making her blood drip over her eyes.
She went first in each turn, shocked at the significant damage she was able to build up and slam onto the group that surrounded her. She knew this ID used poise, but perhaps she didn’t realize how powerful it truly was until she was in desperate need of it. Her skills didn’t let a single attack on her go unnoticed without a counter. The damage she dealt to the monsters was shocking, and after a long, gruesome fight, Hyde managed to walk through a sea of blood and make her pathway through the onslaught.
She avoided the rest of the enemies as she used her evade to flee, sprinting away up to the fifth floor. She counted, realizing the fifth floor was the only thing between her and the top. She smiled with glee. The bough is close, I can feel it so vibrantly.
However, resonating with the golden bough on something so high in the sky wasn’t a good thing. If Hyde were to fall from the floor, it would likely be to her death. There was nothing but jagged, rough cliffs below her. She slowed down, careful not to trip over anything as she finally took the time to observe the floor before the top.
Hyde stopped and stood still as her gaze locked on a large, burning building before her. It was rather block-shaped, and it burned with an endless fire that didn’t seem to immediately consume the building, but it was clear it would be a fire difficult to put out. In the center of the field belonging to said crumbling building stood a silhouette of a four-legged abomination. It sat in the middle of of field full of corpses. Some were burned, and some were fused together in some strange expression of art. There were humans mixed with other humans, monsters, and monsters mixed with monsters… any combination of limbs and faces of various humans and monsters, Hyde saw. It was a mass of distorted flesh, carrying a whiff of agony within its atmosphere.
The large monster in the center moved, cranking its hideous head toward the painter. It spoke in an inhuman voice, but Hyde could pinpoint a subtle, feminine tone to it. “…The mind is fated to distort. The only thing I had; it got twisted. A noble mind lasted a lifetime, plucked. What I'd lost once, lost again. And ultimately rejected all. Thus now we party. Wondrous and everlasting.”
Great, more descriptive messages from monsters who do not understand the true art of simplistic words. Hyde glanced behind the monster into the building, spotting a burning man. He screamed, but it was difficult to see anything else about him. She decided it would be best to place her attention on the monster ahead.
As she took a closer look at the monster, it was clear it and its minions were fused with some of the peccatulum she faced earlier. The monstrosities on the floor were created by the four-legged abomination, at least that’s what the painter could gather. Normally, she would admire the craftsmanship of a 3D object such as the ones before her, but it was so poorly done, it only made her disappointed. All of my students could’ve done a better job than this lousy effort.
Fusions had been a common theme throughout the lobotomy facility. Did every abnormality resonate with someone? She couldn’t answer that question. It was clear there was a clear focus on Jatayu throughout the mission, with many things showing up from his past. What did he have to do with fusions? Had he been forged with something before, or was he going to be? The altar came to mind and left an unsettling taste and feeling in Hyde’s mouth. She glared toward the minions of the monster in the middle. She could pinpoint a few types of peccatulum fused with the humans on the floor, as she had figured out what some of them were weak to on the previous floor. Wrath, Gloom, Envy… She narrowed her eyes at the others, unable to name them. Her current ID only consisted of those three sins, which proved useful on the previous floors.
Peccatulum fused with human bodies might have been a subtype of distortion. However, she put two and two together, realizing the large abomination before her was likely someone who had reached a mental breaking point, distorting. However, nothing in the book mentioned them being fused like a mixed salad. The subtypes of monsters didn’t make too much sense to her, nor did she care. As long as they bleed, they can die. Hyde told herself, crouching slightly. It was difficult to tell if the enemy had spotted her or not.
She swallowed hard, inhaling sharply. The battle was going to be tedious and likely fatal if she didn’t plot correctly. Her gut feeling told her it wouldn’t be as easy as the battles before, and her health was depleting by the second. She knew if she sat down to rest and recover, she would pass out from the loss of blood. Pure adrenaline kept her going, along with a vague sense of dread. She was alone, and not even Jekyll was here to comfort her. She was always better at gauging where their health was and when she needed to rest, but the silence in her own head pained her very soul. My thoughts echo without response… how terrible.
How long would this fight last? Would she even survive to tell the tale? Hyde couldn’t answer those questions, nor could she bring herself to ponder them for long. The enemy moved slightly, and it forced her to consider her actions. The goal was to get the golden bough assumedly at the top at all costs, even if it meant dying in the process.
…I could pull off the excuse of clearing up the path ahead if I do have to explain myself to the rest of the party… Hyde thought, heaving a sigh. Perhaps… perhaps I was wrong to leave them behind. I hope Dante is doing alright…
Dante… the cold manager with no remorse for his companions. He pretends to care, until it really comes down to things, just like Danves… it’s all for show, isn’t it?
A scream from the burning man in the building snapped Hyde back into the present. Was he the source of the loud voice she heard when she first got to the spire’s base? He wasn’t a threat at hand, but the current threat moved closer to her along with its toys. She walked sideways, silent on her feet. Getting around the distortion might be futile, but sneaking around it like she did the previous monster might help. Had it spotted her? Would she be able to leave it behind?
Her questions were answered very quickly. The distortion stood on its every leg, turning its awkward head toward her as she moved. It had – as Hyde could only describe it as – a supernatural sense of direction and senses. It sensed her movement and followed suit, clicking its heels together. As it did so, the fused minion rose like a swarm of zombies and stared at her. There were too many to fight properly if they all came for her at once. Music strung its notes around the field the moment the heel clicking stopped, playing a wrapped, child-like tune.
“A tale of two, intertwined, split apart. Love betrays and harms, hatred burns, and blinds. I cannot have either, and neither is preferred. So instead, we party, forgetting that which tore out our hearts. Last one, standing, a wonderland borne of our distorted hearts.” It spoke poetically with grace in cryptic speech. The distortion danced, swaying haphazardly without rhythm. The fused bodies raised in suits almost as if commanded by the feet slamming onto the floor. Their features became more clear: vermillion beasts of muscle entrapped within indigo wheels, fiery tendrils of crimson ensnared in electric appendages of violet, or blooming flowers of emerald sprouting forth from watery bubbles of cyan organisms… More sinful combinations of abominations untold quickly filled the battlefield, outnumbering Hyde.
Quickly realizing what was happening, Hyde concluded there would be no outrunning nor out-combatting the mass of destruction heading toward her. She would’ve audibly sworn if a tongue rested in her mouth, enabling her to speak. She was boosted at her lower health, perhaps she could put up a good fight before she died. Her heart caught in her throat; she was not excited for the pain she was about to endure that would likely multiply the scratches and aches across her body.
She had cleared quite a bit of path for Dante and the party. She shook her head, wondering why she even thought about helping them, as they did nothing to assist her the entire time she was here, right? Part of her felt bad for leaving them behind, but Hyde disregarded it as the depressed feelings she received from the ID rather than her own conscience and guilt.
Hmm… so be it. I refuse to partake in its gimmick, Hyde snarled at the distortion. I will slaughter anything that comes near. This monster shall face my wrath. Her last bit of sanity left as she smiled, chuckling to herself. Let’s bake this floor in blood.
She stood still near the edge of the floor with the drop below her. Hyde raised her sword as time seemed to have slowed. She watched the enemies with careful eyes. She did not trust the fused peccatulum, and would not play into its gimmick. Her breathing about stopped as she waited, patiently… silence filled the room. They would have to make the first strike before she slaughtered them… or so she hoped.
From Hyde’s perspective, many fused bodies continued to put themselves together and come after her. The hoards of disgusting creatures were beyond numerous, seemingly endless. They continued to arise from the ground where the distortion continued to dance. They approached the imposter like a wave as the bigger monster continued to click its heels.
The first three lunged for her. Hyde raised her sword and sliced the first one, barely dodging the second. She recouped and clashed with the third one trying to rip out a part of her flesh. She pushed it back and sliced off its arm. The first one got back up and sliced a sharp object across her back. She winced and kicked it in the face, blocking the second one as she aimed for its head.
Three more peccatulum joined the party. Hyde could not manage to land an attacking blow as she was forced to defend and clash with all her actions, barely catching each enemy as they came to attack her. More came to the monster’s aid periodically, failing to land a blow as Hyde evaded most of the attacks, but it was difficult to keep up. More kept swarming her each turn. But the time she killed one, sending it flying off the cliff, two more would replace it. It took all her strength to clash with each one, losing count of how many she slayed and how many she was defending against. She desperately tried to get them to hit each other, but their target was clear and they swarmed her, dealing significant damage and tearing out various parts of her, adding it to themselves. Whatever remaining stamina Hyde had left depleted. She cried out in pain, suffering from the new wounds. It was a painful way to die–
”I… I will... not let you harm them...”
A reverberating voice filled the air, a voice rather odd yet familiar. Hyde took a moment to push the mob back, breathing heavily as tears left her eyes. She glanced down to where the voice came from. A large shadow soared upward from the depths of the cliffs and pits below. Hyde was unable to comprehend the figure before it came flying down. It was a large, towering entity with massive, black wings tipped with colorful feathers. The figure loomed over the field before it came crashing down onto it, squashing the wave of peccatulum under its claws. It stood with a large and imposing posture, its back to Hyde and toward the distortion.
J… Jatayu?
”I... I can’t lose another loved one!” Its squack was dripping in pain and agony as it flared its wings. It flared its wings open, smashing another wave of monsters underneath its presence and crushing them to dust—
That was all Hyde saw and heard before the shockwave of the new being’s arrival reached her. She reached out, knocked back as the air escaped her lungs from the impact. She felt her feet touch the air… and didn’t come into contact with the ground again.
Hyde was hurled towards the open air as she spun in circles, immediately falling down the spire to the cliffs thousands of feet below. The sight of the large bird disappeared over the ledge of the cliff, gravity stealing her gaze away from the show.
Hyde spun in circles, gasping for breath as the wind pushed against her face, making it impossible to cry for help. There was no controlling her fall or where she would land, as the ledges were too far away and would sever her arm if she tried to grab onto them at the rate she was descending.
It took falling a few thousand feet for Hyde to finally spread out her body, attempting to slow her fall. She stopped tumbling in circles as she did so. She silently cried in pain as the wind ripped at her flesh wounds, blood seeping out of her rapidly. Observing the ground for a soft place to land was useless; there was nothing that would break her fall and let her survive. This isn’t how I end… not this pathetically… Hyde growled at herself, almost disgusted with her failure to stay on the platform.
She closed her eyes, turning her body to face the sky and the bright sun that gripped her skin and burned it. Her thoughts ran back to the bird that had attempted to save her. His voice… it sounded like Jatayu. Surely, that couldn’t be him… Her denial didn’t resonate with her gut. She started to tumble in the air again. It… That was him… what happened to him?
Her eyes widened in horror. Did he go to the altar? What did the party do to him?
She passed the third floor, descending quickly toward the bottom. Her fall picked up pace as the wind rushed past her. Faster and faster she tumbled, about to meet her end at the bottom. Many questions polluted her mind as she plummeted to her death, more platforms and ledges becoming visible to her while she looked at the spire. The floor she was on disappeared above the clouds amongst the stretching tower. Hyde closed her eyes, waiting to meet her end and the hands of hell once more.
Two bright flashes of red distracted her. Hyde opened her eyes to see the bright objects swooping from the ledge she fell from. They fell after her, stretching their hands as they sped like missiles toward her. Their pursuit of Hyde drowned out all combat noises. They barely made visible the silhouette of a bird taking off from the ledge and ascending higher into the clouds. Its shadow forced the red objects to shimmer, revealing their figures to be feathers: bright feathers.
…What? Hyde tumbled further, reaching her hand out toward them. She passed the second floor of the spire, approaching the ground as it threatened to catch her first. She faced north, glancing at the feathers darting in her direction. It would be too late to break her fall completely, but she had to try.
Her fate was going to hurt, and she wasn’t sure if Dante would bring her back after she left the party, nor did she consider how long she’d have to spend in hell. Her pain would hurt Dante so much if he tried…
Yet, despite her shortcomings, two feathers desperately tried to reach her, as if they were hands of kindness extending toward her. Hyde gripped the wounds on her arms, giving a soft smile as she still outstretched one of her hands towards the feathers. They were getting closer, but so was the floor.
She faced the bright sky, not willing to meet or know when her end would come. She saw the sun, glistening in its bright beauty and kindness radiating from its radiant light. That soft emotion eased Hyde’s heart. Perhaps… it was better to die this way.
Hyde reached out one more time to the feathers, and she grasped them with the tip of her fingers. They had successfully reached her as if they were guided by the will of another. Suddenly, her arms were wrapped up in their soft touch, pulling her up with extreme force that almost made Hyde hurl on the spot. They shifted her upright, reducing her fall as her legs dangled downwards, aided by her slowing her fall via spreading herself out earlier.
The ground greeted Hyde mercilessly. Her landing wasn’t perfect; she tumbled and made a loud thud as she hit the ground with her feet; she was convinced she broke quite a few bones in her foot as she did so. She rolled across the ground, gasping in pain as the feathers surrounded her body, easing her fall like a soft cushion.
Everything in her body was throbbing for help. Hyde let out a painful cry of agony as she sat up, gripping her feet. A few of the bones were sticking out of her shoe, and it forced tears down her eyes. She could not describe the pain she was in…
But she had survived the fall.
The two large and downy feathers wrapped around her arms and body gently pulled her up, nudging her to try and stand. Hyde coughed, blood spilling from her lips as she adjusted her ponytail, trying to oblige. It took great effort to stand, but the feathers acted like soft bandages, easing the pain ever so slightly. They glowed with a warm, comforting, and kind light, as they had broken Hyde’s fall. They exemplified a care Hyde was never shown, that Hyde could not comprehend. Their aura felt similar to Jatayu’s, which convinced Hyde they were from him… or whatever monster he had become.
Hyde stumbled to the ground, everything in her body aching. Blood seeped from her wounds and feet. The feathers couldn’t cover each one, and her vision slowly became blurred. She ran her weak fingers through the feathers, tears streaming from her eyes. Guilt claimed her soul. I… I had made sure Jatayu disliked me and knew his place… yet he sent these… and saved my life. She didn’t understand, nor could she. Why?
The feathers let out a type of comfort she never felt before. She didn’t want it to end. She buried her face into one of the feathers that wrapped itself loosely around her chest. She sobbed into it, partly from external pain, partly from internal pain. She questioned over and over the motive of the feathers and why they decided to help her… why Jatayu decided to help her as if she was a close companion, rather than a harsh coworker who was bent on him learning the harsh realities of life.
Why have you shown kindness to me? I do not deserve it… I never wanted to deserve kindness and yet here you are… here in the presence of your feathers…
Her fingers told her foggy brain that the feathers were larger than she had thought, and they were incredibly thick. Each of them was bigger than her arms if she stretched them out. The giant vulture had many feathers like them on the coat of his wings, glimmering all sorts of colors. She couldn’t be one hundred percent sure that the vulture was Jatayu, but she knew the feathers had saved her life. They radiated a soft warmth as if Hyde was basking in a spring sun’s heat.
It was only because of their glow that was Hyde able to see a few of her surroundings. The particular cliff she had fallen down appeared to be more like a hole. Hyde grunted in pain as she sat up, looking around. It was difficult to process any information as she became overwhelmed with various pain stimulations, blurring her vision and mind. However, it was dark like a pit around her despite the red beacon of light coming from the feathers. There was an aura that Hyde was not alone in this pit. Call it a golden bough resonating or anything else, but Hyde felt as if someone had been here before, stuck in this pit, holding onto something that glowed and gave them hope amid the darkness. Something akin to a memory, or a vision, perhaps… Hyde couldn’t tell what it was. However, she had a deep, reassuring feeling that someone had been helped out of this situation before; perhaps it was the vulture, Jatayu, as the feathers lent their suggestion to, that was once here and helped out.
It seemed as if the feathers were returning the favor, gently tugging on Hyde’s arms, begging for her to come and follow them, urging her to stand despite her pain and go back into the light. Please come, Hyde felt they were saying something like that. Stand, come to the light, we got you.
Hyde couldn’t see any light, but she had no other choice than to trust the feathers at hand. …Alright, I’ll try. I… I need to– a-a– She winced at the thought, her pride taking a serious blow. Apologize to Jatayu… She grimaced at the word, gasping in pain as she stood to her feet, crunching the bones that were sticking out of her shoes.
Blood seeped from her feet as the feathers assisted her, guiding her down a dark tunnel that winded back and forth. She adjusted her sword on her back and held onto the feathers as if her life depended on it. She was in no condition to fight, and could likely die if someone blew a gust of wind on her wrong. She limped slowly in the direction of the feathers as they tugged gently on her arms, guiding her. They worked to save her life, the least she could do was follow them and offer an apology to their owner.
Some of the bleeding had stopped on her wounds, making it slightly easier to see and stumble after the feathers with each step. She had to lift herself, but the feathers assisted in any way they could as if they were semi-sentient. It felt as if they were more than just feathers, which further convinced Hyde Jatayu had something to do with them. He is someone who is associated with feathers in his egos, a lot…
The sun peeked through the dark tunnel, letting Hyde register that she had come back to the base of the spire, the trail’s beginning. Hyde’s bones came into contact with the dirt, and she was never thankful enough to be in so much pain in a place where she could be found. By the time she stepped onto the trail, the feathers stopped tugging.
Her vision began to blur rapidly without the feathers keeping her sanity intact. She was exhausted and wounded beyond help’s extent; it was a miracle she had lasted this long. The pain multiplied in every corner of her body, providing a strong, burning, and ripping sensation in every limb. She barely moved her head, spotting the familiar flames of her manager at the tip of the stairs. Hyde crumbled immediately onto the floor, the feathers being the only thing that broke her fall as they wrapped around her. Dante? Didn’t… he travel in… the back… of… the… party…? She curled up and gasped in pain, her final tears leaving her eyes as they became dry and soulless. She felt a stream of blood come from her head and feet, and she was too beat and exhausted to get up. Darkness claimed her mind, and the last thing she saw was the manager… the one she had pushed away, the one she had forsakened… rushing towards her.
